A New Fashion Video Platform

Hello!

So today I’m blogging the third & last part of  my LASALLE takeaway series, ending off with my mid term research presentations, both the essay and the project.

StyleAsia

StyleAsia Teaser Video Cover

My final presentation’s on a business proposal for Asia’s first Fashion Video platform combining commerce and community. Imagine Youtube’s video platform, ASOS shopping site and WordPress or LinkedIn community. That’s what we’re talking about! I initially termed it StyleAsia. But for the final name it’s something else. I’m not posting about it yet or publishing it publicly… As I hope I can find a team or business to really create this platform, if God allows. 🙂

So what you’ll be seeing here today, for my essay research presentation, was my initial idea on the rise of blogging, vlogging and its impact on the fashion industry.

The business idea to create a bloggers management entity was later aborted because blogging is on a downwards trend. So I pivoted the idea to a video platform as video production and consumption is on an upwards trend. Cisco research says in 2013, 90% of internet traffic is driven by video content! Yeah baby!

So here are the works I’ve done for my final year’s mid terms!:

What is Fashion Marketing & Management?

Giorgio Armani

Giorgio Armani, the man touted to be both a brilliant designer & businessman.

For the last 3 years I’ve been studying Fashion Marketing and Management in LASALLE College of the Arts, under the degree title BA(Hons) Fashion Media & Industries.

When people ask me about what I study and I reply “Fashion Management (sometimes adding & Marketing)”.

They will almost always react with a “Wow! ?!”

And followed by, “So what is that?” or “What exactly do you study?”

Well, so my blog post today is to answer and clarify what Fashion Management and Marketing Studies is exactly! This way, you also have a better idea of what I have been doing for the last 3 years and where my skills, knowledge and specialization lies. 🙂

Usually I will answer in a nutshell that Fashion Management & Marketing is the basically Business Marketing studies but specific to the Fashion industry and we also study Fashion theories, history, trends, creative direction and graphic design.

But to be more specific, the modules I have taken in the last three years include:

Marketing,
Advertising,
Cultural and Contextual Studies in Fashion (Fashion theories, history, academic research and writing),
Branding,
Integrated Marketing Communications,
Visualization and Presentation (both digital and traditional, i.e. drawing by hand, softwares like Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign),
Finance (Budgeting, Financial Proposals)
Visual Merchandising,
Entrepreneurship,
Project Management,
Product Development,
Fashion Retail,
International Fashion Marketing
& Studio for putting our soft skills & knowledge into practical proposals such as Concept stores and Brands.

It is tough to define what Fashion Management and Marketing is exactly, but I have googled and found two pretty decent answers:

Fashion management is the promotion of apparel sales and involves all of the tasks necessary to deliver the clothing requests and meet the needs of potential customers and designers. Developing campaigns, displays and advertisements, directing manufacturing and marketing, and creating sales strategies are the various parts of Fashion management. Credits here.

Fashion marketing is much the same as product marketing. Integrating brand into the product is something always popular in the fashion world for many popular retail fashion wares. Basically fashion marketing is marketing to either fashion conscious consumers or to distribution channels such as retail franchises and so forth. Credits here.

So you may ask, why did I decide to study something as specific as Fashion Marketing and Management?

The reasons are simple, I love Fashion and I discovered after JC (Junior College) that I was more interested in the Business of Fashion rather than design. Also I really love branding, design and marketing. Also back then, after JC, I thought I wanted to be a Fashion Buyer. But over the last four years I have changed my mind.

I am not exactly sure yet what I am going to do or be in the near and distant future, if it will be directly related to Fashion or not, but I am quite sure that the skills and knowledge that I have picked up over the last 3 years will still be relevant wherever I may be.

You may also ask, so what are the Career prospects of Fashion Marketing and Management studies?

The typical ones will be, but not limited to:

Retail Manager
Stylist
Visual Merchandiser
Fashion Buyer
Public Relations Manager
Human Resource Manager
Production Manager
Fashion Journalist
Entrepreneur of Fashion Brand/Label/Marketing firm/Fashion related business

So now that you have a better idea of what Fashion Management and Marketing is, you might wanna check out the works I’ve done in Year 2, from August 2011-April 2012:

Ena’s LASALLE Takeaways Part 1 | 4 Useful Tips for Your Future!

Ena Lasalle

Hi! I’m beginning a series of Ena’s LASALLE Takeaways. Having studied Fashion Media and Industries BA(Hons) degree course, Management specialism in the past 3 years, I have accumulated quite a fair bit fashion knowledge and life experiences which I’d like to share.

For this first installment, I’m re-posting a FB status I posted back in March 10, 2013 when I was in the middle of my final semester of my degree studies and academic life:

Today I met up with a junior (from Lasalle) who wanted to know more about the course I’m taking, so that she can know better whether to go into the communication or marketing & management specialism.

I spoke at length with her but I thought I’d summarize and share a few things that hold true for myself, which hopefully will be helpful to those who are deciding what course to study in the future.

1. Take time to look within yourself, reflect and discover who you are. What do you do and why do you do it, your passions, your interests, your dislikes, etc. Knowing yourself, in my opinion, is far more valuable than others’ perception of yourself.

2. We become good at what we are passionate about. Therefore, study and take up a course that interests you, and not take up a course because it will lead you to a job. Because passion will drive you to desire to excel in your course of study and it is when you excel in your course of study that people; your peers, tutors and your future employees will pay attention to you and thus securing your job.

In the unfortunate scenario where your passion dies after you enter your course of study, then apply the motto “Do what you love, if not, love what you do.” Passion may die but the pride we take in our work must never.

3. Specialism, being excellent in one thing, is higher valued than being average in many things. Ironically the industry calls for institutions to give students an “all/well-rounded” education but eventually give the jobs to individuals who are spectacular at that one thing. Accountants may suck at writing and writers, at counting. You get what I mean. Therefore, identify your strength and work crazy hard at it. Know your weakness and don’t worry if you can’t fix them, know that you will find others who can complement your skill set. But if you don’t have an outstanding strength, then you will just blend in with everyone else.

4. Less is more. Whether it’s presentation slides, CPJ (Creative Process Journal), a speech or a piece of design, less is more. Let’s face it, teachers are busy, they don’t have the time to read every single scribble on our journals. A single big image and a sentence makes more impact than 9 images an a paragraph. Design. Design adds value to your content. Be intentional about everything you produce. Does that additional image add value your work? If it doesn’t, you know what to do.

I’ll also be publishing links to some of the essays, documents and slides which I have worked on during the last three years, beginning with year 1 for this post! So you can expect year 2 works in the second part, and year 3 works in the last installment. Some of the works are Group work, which have all been duly credited with my group members names. 🙂

I’m quite excited to be posting my works from school online because school’s been a HUGE part of my life for the last 3 years and in doing so, you guys and gals will be able to see what I’ve been doing, outside of this blog. 🙂

Also I’ll be glad to answer any queries for all past, present and future fashion students and lovers. So just feel free to ask away!

Ohaiyo Japan (4) Isohara Seaside & Tokyo Tower

Ohaiyo~

And I am back with part 4 of Ohaiyo Japan! 🙂

2013-03-17 07.31.25

Another day of pretty breakfast at Isohara Seaside Hotel! You know I don’t think anyone can possibly tire of looking at how beautifully Japanese presents their food!  This is my type of meal, with meat, eggs and vege!

2013-03-17 08.20.37

A breath-taking panoramic view of the seaside from our room. The hotel is designed so that every room has a seaside view, brilliant isn’t it? 🙂

2013-03-17 08.38.03

We took a walk down to the seaside for a closer look! Look just how serene the place is. 🙂

2013-03-17 08.44.46

Another awe-inspiring panoramic view of the seaside. Click the photo to see an enlarge version!2013-03-17 08.48.10

An obligatory touristy pose with the iconic “rock” on Isohara beach! It’s not actually a rock but rather a tiny island named  Futatsujima. Meaning two-island, Futatsujima is a famous coastal landmark reflecting contract. The north island, with high steep slopes,is covered with grass and visited by thousands of birds at nightfall. The south island is small, and continuously washed over by the sea’s eroding waves. Credits here. Little Futatsujima island used to be covered in green trees and plants but unfortunately was washed away since the 2011 tsunami and has not yet since grown back.

We then proceeded to the Honda Civic Center for our presentation preparation and practice sessions in the day and early afternoon!

2013-03-17 09.47.33

Here are our lovely hand drawn props of Singapore iconic landmarks, by Ade and Xav! 🙂 Merlion, flyer, Esplanade,  CBD area and a hint of MBS! 🙂

2013-03-17 09.55.54

Our group, split into the “actions” team and the “singing” team as we present the song “Singapore Town” ^^  The action team and their props. 🙂

IMG_4392

Our two cute representatives, Beatrice and Dylan, smiling for my camera in between practicing their script for the powerpoint presentation.

We took a break for lunch and here’s a series of selcas with Ying! 🙂 I love how well lit the place is and how lovely the photos turned out, taken with my Iphone and no filter or post processing at all!

Our sandwich lunch box! Mustard sandwiches, Pumpkin sandwiches, Croquette in bread and fruits!

After our morning and afternoon practice sessions, we took a short break at the plaza for #OOTD.

2013-03-17 11.29.16

Thanks to styling and photo whiz Greggy for capturing this photo!

2013-03-19 22.10.04

Anddddd somehow Ginette cajoled Ying and I to take this action photo after we did some jump shots! She used an app to create this dramatic effect! 😀

Next up, we came to “Wedding Place Bihou” which is basically a beautiful hall with a restaurant for weddings. But we were using it for our thank you, farewell and cultural exchange dinner with our hosts from Ibaraki region, meaning all the hosts we’ve met at all the places we’ve been in the Ibaraki region came down! )

Before the event, the 4 groups took turns to practice our short 5 minutes item on the actual stage, so that allowed the other groups to venture the place.

2013-03-17 14.44.15

So here’s another photo! Heh. 🙂

IMG_4412

And another with Ying 🙂

Naturally the spread and the atmosphere of the dinner was fantastic, but as the indoor lightning was dim (intentionally so), so I didn’t manage to capture nice photos. We managed to speak to the managers at the previous Ryokan (traditional Japanese hotel) to thank them for their warm hospitality. 🙂 It was also a great time where we presented our items and enjoyed watching others present theirs. What’s more important was that the Japanese hosts seem to be really delighted by our presentations and we also enjoyed ourselves a lot too. 🙂

Day 8 !

2013-03-18 07.28.24 HDR

Final breakfast at the Isohara Seaside Hotel, this time with fried fish, meat, pasta and a soft bun. 🙂 Blogging about Japan trip has made me constantly hungry, seriously! >.<  😛 All these fantastic looking food makes me crave for meat and carbo, which I love!!! 😛

2013-03-18 08.03.06

Thought I’d capture the bedside table which felt pretty old school, with the clock, phone and what seems like a radio. Heh.

It’s our last day in Isohara Seaside Hotel and the region of Ibaraki region as a whole, so Greg, Ying and I quickly grabbed the last chance to take our #ootd at the seaside after breakfast.

2013-03-18 08.26.40

The same Isohara seaside, but a totally different feel isn’t it? 🙂 The weather that day wasn’t as great as the day before, it was slightly gloomy and definitely much colder.

2013-03-18 08.52.31

This photo gives you an idea of how cold the place is! Haha, me freezing away with hands tightly tucked in my pockets. Photo &  memories > important than being in the cold! 😛

Another series of #ootd:

2013-03-18 08.21.48-1

Let’s just say I’m not that skilled in channeling badass. 😛 I’m out-fitted in a Mango plaited top, with a floral and denim vest, grey leggings with a skirt attached, the usual blue coat and brown boots. It’s a country singer inspired look, which is easily created with key items such as plaited top, denim vest and boots!  🙂

2013-03-18 08.21.50

Quickly breaking out into to a smile. 🙂

2013-03-18 08.21.53

Caught with my eyes closed! 😀

Shortly after, we boarded the coach for our 3 hour ride back to Tokyo!
2013-03-18 08.58.06

The very hospital Isohara Seaside Hotel staff and our Kizuna project hosts waving back to us. We were really very sad to part. :'( We don’t wanna leave!

Anyhoos, by 3pm we reached Tokyo for lunch and after, we proceeded to Tachikawa Life Safety Learning Centre for a very engaging time of fire fighting and earthquake reaction workshops!

2013-03-18 15.00.38

Here our Life Center guide is telling us the varying earthquake degrees and how to react at home/indoors when we experience a severe 7 shindo scale earthquake.

2013-03-18 15.02.26

When earthquake strikes, it’s best to seek shelter under a table where we would be protected by any falling objects.

I have a video for this, where we took turns to experience what it’s like during an earthquake on the simulation stage. We were laughing a lot but of course when it happens for real, it’s not funny at all! I will upload on Youtube and update the link.

Then we proceeded to fight fire! It’s important to know how to, since the second major issue after earthquakes is the fires that erupt due to the earthquake, from houses with the fires left on and unattended before they could be turned off when earthquake strikes. 🙁 Seriously, we are SO fortunate in Singapore that we do not experience earthquakes and I am super grateful for that!

2013-03-18 16.00.55

Check out Xav, Ying, Ade, Alex and SJ all so excited! 😀

2013-03-18 16.01.06

Look at them valiantly picking up their water based fire extinguishers and vanquishing the fire on the screen! 🙂 We all took turns, but I didn’t pose for a picture, heh. It was definitely fun and not difficult either. Now we are fire-proofed!

After the workshop, we headed to Tokyo Tower for our dinner at about 7pm!

2013-03-18 18.33.32

Though not as famous as the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, the Tokyo Tower is definitely a famed Tokyo tourist site!

2013-03-18 18.33.45

Look how the tower is reflected on the buses! Heh!

Ying and I decided to skip the buffet dinner catered for us/the group and with permission, we headed to eat the local Japanese ramen within the Tokyo Tower!

2013-03-18 19.07.42

Sorry I have no idea what this stall is called, so you will have to rely on the photos, but I highly recommend you to eat from here given the chance you are visiting Tokyo Tower! They adopt a vending machine ordering and payment method and they will pass you a buzzer for you to collect the meal when the buzzer lights up.

2013-03-18 19.07.51

The collection point.

2013-03-18 19.11.31

My tasty, pork Shoyu (I think it is, keke) ramen. 2013-03-18 19.11.40

My super satisfied face! The photo is not edited but the light behind creates a heavenly effect which I sure felt like I was in ramen heaven! Heh. ^^

After our dinner, we shopped for souvenirs and Tokyo banana ran out of stock! Haha.

We also bought tickets to go up the tower, which costs about SGD$8/9, if I remembered correctly, for entry. 2013-03-18 20.03.54

A panoramic view of Tokyo, from the tower. 2013-03-18 20.09.00

Small wooden cut out panels of writings by lovers and well wishers to make and leave their mark upon the tower! How romantic! ^^

2013-03-18 20.09.15

I thought the viewing gallery on the tower was very lovely…

2013-03-18 20.19.47

A last photo of the Tokyo city. I love the city, not just Tokyo but the proverbial city, with its bright lights shining in the dark. <3

We got back to the hotel about 9pm and we promptly made arrangement to sneak out beyond our 10pm curfew (oopsie!) because we HAD to explore the Tokyo city beyond the hotel and tower, right?!

2013-03-18 21.42.46

A really orderly subway!

2013-03-18 21.43.07

A very tired Ying and I. >.<2013-03-18 21.44.10

We may be tired but we’re happy! 😀
2013-03-18 22.00.30

My first Japanese subway ticket, it’s printed on a material that seems like a very thin and bendable magnet.

2013-03-18 22.01.32

Super cute ad in the subway. Not sure what it’s selling but so cute!

IMG_4439

Here we see (I presume) the top three cities that Japanese would most like to visit! Singapore, London and New York! 😀

IMG_4441

Spotted: Japanese women decked out in cute My Melody (Sanrio cartoon character, like Hello Kitty) bags and luggage!

IMG_4467

We arrived at Shibuya, one of the chic Tokyo area!

Hachiko the dog says hi! He is famous for being an extremely loyal dog. Check out his wiki page here.

Japanese 7/11 sells packed ramen! Umm, didn’t get a chance to try it, but fascinating to see!

We could not decide where to eat or what to do and after a longgggg walk, we finally decided on checking out this ramen store! It was actually quite meh~ (read: so-so) in terms of the food and the drinks served. So Ying and I were glad we ate the one at the Tokyo Tower. HEH. 😛

Ending off the post with a goofy Desmond grin! 🙂
One more installment to go~ It won’t be long before it’s up so watch this space! Heh.

Fashion Stylin’ | How to pull off Maxi Skirts effortlessly

Just this week, I had a fashion conversation with a close friend, Joey about how to wear a Maxi skirt.

She told me that she doesn’t venture to wear Maxi skirts because it’s hard to pull it off as it may back fire and make the dresser look short and stumpy instead. She also asked, should wearers of maxi skirts reveal their ankles or wear a maxi that touches the ground and cover their feet completely?

I don’t have a concrete answer for whether the  Maxi skirt/dress should cut off at the ankle or not, and my answer for her was that dressing is about proportion. If you’re not too tall, like I am, I usually don’t venture to wear maxi skirts as well as they overwhelm my petite frame and just isn’t as flattering as if I would wear short skirts. But when I do wear long skirts, then I always ensure that I’m in heels or wedges and that the skirt is highwaisted and usually belted, so that the overall look is elongated, cinched at the right place and looks proportionately balanced.

So by now, you probably might know that I am quite an avid Pinterest user. I started my Pinterest account way back, almost 2 years ago and for a while after I began, I lost interest in it but in the past year I’ve kept returning to it because I find it an immensely inspiring and relaxing portal of fashion, food and lifestyle imagery and it’s completely easy for me to save / “repin” images I love to my own boards and Pinterest page.

So when I was browsing Pinterest today, I came across a slew of images with girls in Maxi skirts and reminded me of the conversation with Joey and I decided to write a blog post about my thoughts and tips for how to pull off  Maxi skirt / dress effortlessly!

8820727b10d864d076f9181df82c563d

In the photo above, you can see that:

the maxi skirt is worn low at the waist,

paired with heels and the skirt is slit very high that the cut is placed at where a mini skirt would be.

The principle of balance is at play here where a relatively covered up knitted top is paired with a sexy and revealing skirt. Also the proportion is right with the heels, if she was in flats, she won’t look as flattering.

http://pinterest.com/pin/453385887457560984/

In this photo,

The same idea of balance is reversed when you see:

The wearer is wearing a laced top which has a peek-a-boo effect and also revealing her tummy area, which some people find very sexy and is definitely a trend this summer!

While she keeps her lower half all covered

AND revealing half her wedges creates a “pedestal” effect that perfects the look.

ccbb1eaaf1d596e0c15cf2886a7c1251

In this photo,

The maxi skirt is worn with flats but it’s proportionately flattering because

She wears the skirt above her waist so it elongates her lower half and makes her look like she has longer legs.

There isn’t images of maxi dress per se, but the same elements can be applied to the maxi dress, like cinching the dress at a high waist, if you have a shorter/petite frame and going lower waist belting if you are tall or have a longer torso!

Remember that balance and proportion is key!

So I hope you’ve learnt a thing or two about how to wear a maxi skirt and venture to wear one after this post, if you’ve never dared to before! And if you do, be sure to @ena_teo on twitter or post in on my FB page here, or leave the url of the photo of you in your maxi skirt in the comments below and i’d be sure to check it out! <3

Have fun! 😉

Then we made our way to HKPU, it’s one of the top University in HK.

Following the tour, we ended with a 3D, yes 3D I kid you not, show reel of their latest fashion graduate’s show case. It was honestly the most outstanding and jaw dropping fashion showcase I have ever seen, not so much for the design but the presentation of it. Not that the designs were not spectacular, but the presentation blew me away.

Ok, now that I came back from London recently, and I did not take pics with London Telephone booth, this photo is proving a little funny. Anyway, the reason we find a lot of Britain inspired aspects in HK is because HK was colonized by the British until their unity with China back in 1997, so HK feels very much like an extension of Britain, albeit in a chinese populated place.

For dinner, we all arrived at Chilli Fagara, touted to be one of HK’s best spicy boutique restaurants.

Address: Shop E, No. 45-53, Graham Street

Take note that it is near the Soho area, as there is another Graham street near Central HK.

Let’s begin with Hong Kong!

Hello hello~!

It’s been almost a month since I last posted. 😛

So before the days pass to months and months pass to years, I’d better upload my travel photos from HK before they become stale! 😛

Together with 2 tutors and 9 other classmates from Lasalle, we went to Hong Kong (HK) for a 4 Days 3 Nights fashion exposure trip, to see their fashion stores, school and design studios.

For this HK trip, I decided to design a Travel Photo Album in vintage style because the photos are almost becoming vintage since I’m taking so long to post them 😛 and also because there’s a part of the old HK that evokes romantic vintage vibes. 😉

Personally I’m not a fan of vintage fashion or design but vintage design is a very rich style, with many fans and resource available online so I had a lot of fun in designing and putting together this album. I hope you will enjoy it! And if you want to know where I got the free design elements from, you may find them at the end of this post. Also, I’ve saved photoshop (PSD) templates of all my pages, so when I’ve figured how to upload them online, I’ll also post it up so it’s free for download and people can edit for their own trips! Cool huh? ^^

Without further ado, here are my photos from HK Day 1~!

How did you find this album? Post your comments below! ^^

That’s all for now, I hope to be able to bring the next installment next week! For the record, there’s 3 more days for HK and 10 for Japan. These 15 pages took me a whole day to edit… So wish me luck! 😛

Happy Chinese New Year folks!

It’s been a long time since I last blogged. I’ve procrastinated a lotttt. ))):

Anyway, some photos I took recently for EDD. 🙂

EDD | Sonnet 97, Rugged Layered Denim

There’s no winter here in Singapore, but as the year draws to a close, and this set of EDD photos reminds me of colder days, I thought it apt to share a Shakespeare sonnet about Winter.

Sonnet 97, William Shakespeare

How like a winter hath my absence been
From thee, the pleasure of the fleeting year!
What freezings have I felt, what dark days seen!
What old December’s bareness every where!
And yet this time removed was summer’s time,
The teeming autumn, big with rich increase,
Bearing the wanton burden of the prime,
Like widow’d wombs after their lords’ decease:
Yet this abundant issue seem’d to me
But hope of orphans and unfather’d fruit;
For summer and his pleasures wait on thee,
And, thou away, the very birds are mute;
Or, if they sing, ’tis with so dull a cheer
That leaves look pale, dreading the winter’s near.

Though I’m personally enjoying the holiday season this December, and not going through a weary winter, I still think it meaningful that going through times of coldness can be positive reminders and longings for “summer’s time”. The sonnet ends with a sad note fearing a long and complete ending with his lover but it’s not so much the case with us in reality, or at least for me, I guess I like summer as much as winter. 🙂

EDD & Kardashian’s Kollection with Dorothy Perkins

Hi!

Happy Boxing Day my friends!

Did you receive a lot of gifts this year? Perhaps it’s not physical gifts, but gifts of kind words and loving actions?

I’ve been utterly blessed this year, spiritually and physically so I am very excited for an even better year ahead! 🙂

Back in early November, another example of how blessed I was, I won tickets from MsGlitzy, one of my favourite lifestyle blogger that I subscribe too, for Kardashian Kollection x Dorothy Perkins opening launch and an outfit!

It was really a lot of fun attending the event with my girlfriends, after dinner at my place. 🙂

Photos from the event:

My outfit is an orange skater dress from Bugis Village bought early this year, vintage printed blouse and BYSI bag with black heels.

Noteworthy Christmas Advertorials & Apps 2012

Hello!

I do hope you are having fun this Christmas!

Over this month, I’ve had some fun reading, watching, playing and engaging with some commercial Christmas advertorials and apps with I thought I’d share with you! This is not a sponsored post, and I’m reviewing/sharing these as a consumer/user because I found them to be interesting! 🙂

1. Cartier Winter Tale Advertisement Video & Gifs

I was first captivated by their super high quality gifs but unfortunately don’t seem to show on my blog. ):

01

03

But I also thought their video very brilliant, who knew showcasing products as life-sized items in a snowy landscape as leopard cubs traverse could be so… heart warming?

2. Kit Kat CrazyPrezzies FB App

It’s really irreverent, hilarious and as the title suggest, crazy. It’s an app with an image of a ball/gum dispenser atop a dead Santa with super hilarious result when you dispense, to send to your FB friends:

522718_10151215569779121_76686536_n

This was for my aunt. Hehe.

382107_10151215570654121_1533698148_n

This was for my sister. You start to see their lame jokes? 😛
Find/tag a friend to go along with you on the fairy tale journey and end with an album! It’s cute but I was expecting cartoon images and not text heavy images, pity!

Ena features | H’muse Pop Up Store @ Parco

Hmuse Enabalista 2

Hello my dear readers!

It’s been a long time since I’ve last blogged, do you miss me ? ^^

I know it’s no excuse… but yours truly have indeed been busy with school assessments followed by my church youth camp. God’s been very gracious to my church youth group and I, we’re recharged for another great year with Him! (:

This is really a long overdue post, for H’muse the Pop Up store at Parco. The nice folks there have generously sponsored 3 vouchers for my readers. So watch out for the next post on how to take part! The vouchers giveaway will take place through the Christmas season and the winners will be revealed on Christmas day, so it’s like 1 more Christmas present for you, the potential winner! (:

Without any further ado, let me show you the photos I took when I went down to visit the store!

Hmuse Pop Up Store EnabalistaH’muse is located at Parco level 1. It occupies a small yet cosy corner. The colourful and quirky merchandise also stands out against the intentionally bare furnishing.

Hmuse Brands EnabalistaThe list of brands featured in store, with a majority of Indonesian brands.

Hmuse Shoes EnabalistaBeautiful handmade leather shoes from Indonesia. Chin, the PR and marketing guy at H’muse says that more stocks are coming in (which should be in store by the time you are reading this).

Hmuse Shoes 2 EnabalistaThese shoes are good-looking and double up for work and play. Guys, if you’re looking for a nice pair of shoes for Christmas and into the new year, go on down to H’muse!

HMuse Ask Dress Enabalista

I picked out a few items, the ones I like to feature in this post…. and I’m telling you, I’m in love with this Indonesian brand, Ask. It’s so spot on with the trends and it doesn’t harm that it has a Korean vibe and sense of aesthetics that I see in the Korean dramas I am watching currently… Just saying. >.<  So this lovely Autumn/Winter scenery printed dress is apt for the current season and selling at SGD $96.

Hmuse Ask & Coat EnabalistaThis lovely grey faux fur coat also from Ask is selling at $119. Have I told you I secretly (ok fine, not so secretly) LOVE fur? And it’s only arguably in this time of the year in Winter where it’s arguably colder that I can wear fur, fur-lined and winter related thingamajings out in Singapore. Like my fur lined boots from Korea, furry dress, knitted beanie and scarves. But even then, when I wear them out I feel like I’m crazy. T-T I wish I could travel to somewhere cold this winter! Even if it’s 3-4 days it’d still make me very happy, and so I can wear layered attired and furry stuff, HEHE. (:

Hmuse Ask Dress 2 EnabalistaThis printed and Batik inspired dress is selling at $98. It also comes in other colours like green hues. I featured this cause it’s in pink/purple hues. Hee.

Hmuse Ask Pullover EnabalistaThis knitted sweater can double up as both a festive item and tribal too! Also by Ask, priced at $92.

Hmuse Lou Top 1 EnabalistaThis quirky yet laid back striped top by Louskii is priced at $37.

Hmuse Lou Top 2 EnabalistaAlso by Loushkii, this top is going at $55.

Hmuse ColorRiot Shirt EnabalistaThis beautiful floral top is bound to garner attention to the wearer, by ColorRiot, selling at $59.

Hmuse ColorRiot Floral Set EnabalistaIn a similar print, the shorts also by ColorRiot is selling at $59.

Hmuse Ensemble Black Dress EnabalistaBy Ensemble, this sheer dress is unique with its velvet collar and tassel detailing.

Hmuse Jan Sober Short Sleeve Shirt EnabalistaAnother Menswear brand, Soep Shop, this cute top is selling at $54.90. I particularly like how the collar and shoulders fabric (I forgot what this part of the shirt is called, lol) is different from the rest of the shirt.

Hmuse Men Shirt EnabalistaThis black t-shirt by Kazign has a different coloured pocket and is selling at $49.

Hmuse Bags EnabalistaNow moving on to the vibrant center counter of bags and accessories.

Hmuse Clementine Yellow Clutch EnabalistaIndonesian bags brand Clementine, faux leather clutch going at an affordable price of $49. It’s so lovely.

Hmuse Clementine EnabalistaThe same clutch also comes in blue.

Hmuse Acc EnabalistaAustralian brand Vanessa Ward, an architect by profession turned accessories designer. With a nautical collection in H’muse. These necklaces are going for $95 each.

Hmuse Necklace EnabalistaThis unusual ball necklace was the first item to be sold when H’muse opened, bought by an SPH editor! Haha. Also by Vanessa Ward, selling at $130.

Hmuse Daniel Wellington Watches EnabalistaLast but not the least in this featured post, Daniel Wellington bracelets and watches.

Hmuse DW Watch Enabalista

Zadig & Voltaire Fall Winter Launch @ Marina Bay Sands

Hi lovelies!

I hope October’s going well for you? In a blink of an eye, October is almost half way through and I have yet to post my September Photo Round Up, hehe!

So pictures from Zadig & Voltaire Fall WInter 2012 Launch! (:

Prior to the models entrance, Bobbi Brown treated the audience to their Fall Winter colour palettes and a make up demonstration.

Fall Colours fitting comfortably with Zadig’s effortless cool styles on the table.

Shimmery sequined jacket for those looking to shine on the dance floor, quite literally. >u<

A very pretty model, who overheard V saying quite loudly how pretty she was.

And she was very pleased with V’s compliment and thus was smiling quite radiantly at us while we snapped away! <;

V’s sticker of the day. #walkonthewildside Each guest had a sticker for the night. I didn’t take photo of mine, it was a Z&V sign, for the media because I attended as a blogger. <:

I lurveee this leopard print blazer. So pretty. Would be great to pair it with a white dress with a layered, asymmetrical tutu skirt. The uber handsome model makes his entrance.

Zadig & Voltaire is a french label, laidback with a rock attitude govern the label’s designs. Working with mostly solid colours, comfortable textures and the occasional skull and paisley prints. I love the brand’s aesthetics very much.

Pretty model reappears with a studded shoulder blazer.

Picture with her shoes in it. Matching the blazer!

Chiseled face makes his appearance again.
It was the first time that I got chat up at an event, usually I’m the one breaking the ice, but this model made the european lady next to me exclaimed just how handsome he is and asked if I agreed with her. I did, and I told her to go up to him and kiss him since he is only an arm’s length away. She said she would, if her husband who was next to her allowed. He didn’t, laughing while saying and the lady went on to say maybe the model is more suitable for her daughter. Lol!
European model face quite frankly looks like a work of art, like a statue.
Beware if you are jaws wide open, lest your drool spills on the floor. 😛

Ah… She makes an appearance in a military influenced get up. I am loving the military style this season.

Trend Highlights | Polished Attraction Featuring Victoria Beckham

Hi lovelies!

It’s time for some Fall Fashion updates! Today I’ll be finishing up with the 2nd part of Fall Winter Trend Highlights. If you haven’t check out the first part here. Titled Polished Attraction, this trend highlight features key looks from the ever chic Victoria Beckham.

Polished Attraction is sub-divided to three categories, Sharply Tailored, Modern Military and Belt Up.

Sharply Tailored – Embracing the cultivated, smart and stylish individual with versatility. Key labels featuring this look are Miu Miu, YSL and Balmain.

Modern Military – Designers brought a fresh appeal to traditional military garb with luxe fabrics and fitted silhouettes. Together with Victoria Beckham, these labels rule the runway this season: Salvatore Ferragamo, Max Mara, Burberry Prorsum & Kenzo.

Belt Up – For this season, accentuating the waist with a thin leather belt adds a touch of class, glamour and sophistication.

If you noticed the H&M at the top left corner of the moodboard, (SHARP EYES THERE fella!), it’s because my friends and I worked on Fall Winter trends back in Feb/March this year for a school project, proposing Fall Winter 2012 trends for a imaginary H&M store in Singapore. Teehee.

Victoria Beckham Fall Winter 2012 Runway Looks

These are soooo chic. It’s like Victoria Beckham decided to create uniforms for the Parisian girls.

The models exude effortless chic in these military style garb. *Swoons*If you haven’t seen Victoria Beckham’s Fall Winter 2012 looks but you’re wondering why it looks so familiar? It’s because you’ve seen a similar look on Kate Moss for Mango! I didn’t realize the similarity till I was blogging this! NO WONDER I liked the look on Kate Moss so much when I first saw it. (T-T)# *faints*

That’s all for now, leave me a comment telling me how much you love reading my blog, y’all! 😛

Cause Ena Loves Ya So~! *(^-^)*
