Fresh Copper Colour with LEEKAJA Beauty Salon @ Mandarin Gallery

Hi guys! Yesterday I made a trip to LEEKAJA Beauty Salon for a fresh coat of hair colour – been wanting to get a copper colour on my hair for a while, after watching Korean dramas and seeing it on a few actresses – muahaha. Where better to get this colour done then the korean hair salon in Singapore – LEEKAJA Beauty Salon?! 😀

LEEKAJA is one of the top hair salons in Korea with more than 200 salons all over the world (see their official website here) and their first flagship store in Singapore is located at Mandarin Gallery, Orchard.

This is their front desk / reception area. What’s interesting about the LEEKAJA store is its very leafy and green environment that feels like a garden mixed with raw, industrial materials that makes for a very relaxed environment when you enter and during the length of your stay. I’d say the atmosphere is very welcoming and makes you want to go back again. A very unique experience that you can’t find in other hair salons in Singapore (except Walking on Sunshine, their sister branch, haha).

They even sell Cactus, something I find really random and unusual, hahaha!

I had the pleasure to be attended to by Senior Hair Stylist Sam, I had wanted a bright copper colour and would need to bleach my hair to achieve the effect. But as I had rebonded my hair two months back, it’s not advisable for me to bleach my hair as it might damage it. So Sam suggested for me to proceed with the copper colour without bleaching and that he would add a booster during the dye process so we can still achieve a more vibrant effect – yeah! 😀

What’s really lovely about LEEKAJA Beauty Salon is that it houses an in-house, not open to public cafe that serves visiting clients complimentary light bites and drinks like tea, coffee, green tea latte and even wines if you fancy! I had a cup of green tea with roasted rice blend with mini coffee madelines and a second cup of green tea latte at Sam’s recommendation. Yummy!

A picture at my station, hello!

A quick “before” look – straight rebonded hair, fading hair colour with my dark hair roots showing, a new hair colour is due!

During the process of getting my new hair colour… picture taken with SNOW app – in case you’re wondering why I have on a pair of specs out of nowhere, muahaha.

I also noticed from the IPad placed at each station that they use their own in-house hair care range, when Sam used the shampoo to wash off the dye – it smells amazing! The IPad also serves as a mini TV to show their current promotions – including a new facial salon, Civasan brought in from Korea as well. More on that at the end of this post!

Another remarkable aspect of LEEKAJA is the vast size of the salon – easily two to three times the size of a regular hair salon. The reason being they house various stylists ranging from Junior Hair Stylists, Senior Hair Stylists to Hair Directors who have their own spaces to attend to their own private clients, up to three at a time. Really amazing concept!

One of the open stations area with hair perming equipment and hair wash corner at the back.

This is one of the director “rooms”, there are a few more but it was not convenient for me to snap pictures as there were customers, haha.

This is their VIP room… it’s very private and cosy, isn’t it?

If you’re planning to attend a big event and pressed for time, you can even make appointment to have your nails and hair done at the same time! LEEKAJA Beauty Salon have their own in-house nail manicurist who can attend to your nail-care and needs. If you happen to visit when she’s not attending to customers, you might even get a complimentary nail buff session.

Pedicure corner – those chairs look super comfy!

A whole array of nail polishes and tools for your mani and pedis!

And… here are the “After” pics with my new and fresh copper hair colour! Yippee! 🙂 And a picture with Sam – thanks for today, it’s lovely chatting with you as well!

More pictures under a different/brighter light so you can see a more accurate colour representation of my new Copper hair colour!!!

I’m very happy with the new colour… I also like the loose curls… yes I know I just rebonded my hair not long ago – but I already want to have longer hair with loose curls perm done sometime end of the year! I seem to have lots of hair ideas for this year – I blame it on watching Korean dramas! Hahaha. 😛

I believe you can see how much I’ve enjoyed the session as well – and will most definitely recommend you to visit LEEKAJA Beauty Salon with your bff so you can get your hair cut/colour/treatment at the same time while sipping drinks and catching up!

Something of note – LEEKAJA is not exclusive to ladies – I saw a lot of men getting their hair trimmed while I was there – so guys, you might want to check this place out too!

Before I end off with their September promo and contact details, here are some pics of their sister brand, Civasan facial salon!

It’s very gold due to the lightning at the mall – but the walls are white and the entire space looks very modern, futuristic at the same time, I love it!

Here you go – the white walls with black edges and pink accents – mad love!

This is the makeup area for guests to primp up after their facials! They literally opened just 1 week ago and they’re just one floor above LEEKAJA – so  if you’re looking for a facial place right before or after your hair cut/colour/treatment at LEEKAJA – you know where to go!

For the month of September 2019, they are also running a $100 promotion off on hair treatment with any of their hair services, so if you’re looking to get a hair cut and treatment this is a perfect promo to use!

Book your appointment with LEEKAJA Beauty Salon:

Thank you LEEKAJA Beauty Salon and Priscilla for the kind invite! While the hair colour service is sponsored, all thoughts and reviews are my own.

8 Things You Might Expect At Le Diner en Blanc

You might have read about my previous post Checklist for Le Diner en Blanc First Timers and I thought I’d do a follow up post about what actually happened at the one I attended in Singapore earlier this year!

1 / You have to meet up with your chosen bus group.

As the location for Le Diner en Blanc is always kept a secret, participants of the event will have to gather at their chosen location (many across islandwide) to wait for a bus that will take us to the venue.2 /  You will have to carry all your stuff with you. (Bring a handy trolley if you have one!)

It was tough finding a white bag that will fit all the things that we had to carry, so we had to split all the things up and carry between the two of us!

3 / You might experience a really long bus ride.

We took the bus from the east near Tanah Merah, the bus took us to Changi before heading down to Sentosa. >.< I’m not sure why that was the reason though, so I hope you like bus rides!

We finally alighted at RWS and took a walk to the location at RWS.
4 / You might rush to get a spot in the line and then get busy to set up your table.

Every bus is assigned one line, and most people would want to be at the end of either sides so there might be a bit of jostling around, but thankfully everyone was quite courteous. We did a bit of research online and especially Pinterest to gain inspiration for table setting and I had the sense to add in a candle lamp and fairy lights – I brought enough to share with the tables on our left and right, haha!

5 / Prepare to exchange stories and maybe even food!

The french on my right happened to have worked at an office near where I live so we had quite a good conversation and they offered us really yummy cheese (as pictured) and salami on bread! I especially love this part about the dinner, meeting new friends!  6 / Photoworthy moments

Being at DEB means everyone’s dressed in white and it’s definitely an evening you want to remember, so be sure to take a few shots, especially with who you’re with and meet!

7 / Enjoy the fringe events

In addition to all that’s already happening – setting up dinner, dining, meeting new friends – organizers had a lot of fringe events like models on stilts, musicians to entertain us through the dinner. We made the trip to the photobooth to get a few cute shots! 🙂

8 / Dance the night away!

The event ends with a blast with everyone dancing the night away, we also got to see fireworks since we were at Sentosa and the evening was truly quite spectacular and enjoyable.

If you enjoyed my post and want to receive an invite for DEB 2018, register here. Special thanks to DEB Singapore for hosting us and my partner in crime Christabelle!

The Two Most Important Days In Your Life

Recently I came across this quote:

“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.”

While I don’t profess to fully know why I am born on this earth, nor do I have THE calling or mission to accomplish in this life time – I do know that my interests and career lies heavily in the areas of  Real Estate & Digital Media and I want to continue to grow my interest and skill sets in these two areas.

I’ve reviewed my 2017 goals and vision board (they’re in powerpoint slides format, in case you were wondering) and I’ve decided that my theme for 2018 will be “Value-Add”. Whether it is value adding for my clients at work, readers on my blog or social media following. brands that I work with, my family, my church community or my friends  – I will strive to Value-Add in any and all ways through my actions, time and with the life that God has given me.

Speaking of value-adding, one thing I’ll be doing more often is recommending cafe spots and fashion finds in 2018! 😉 If you’re looking for a cozy coffee spot in Novena, I highly recommend Joe & Dough at Square 2 (10 Sinaran Dr, 01-156, Singapore 307506)! Also, shout out for Mizzue Singapore for sponsoring the cute beige bag featured below! I like that the bag is well made and comes at an affordable price point. Mizzue also carries many bag styles, there’s sure to be something you’ll love that you can carry from work to date nights. The design I’m carrying below is sold out, however you can find similar styles here, here and here.

You’re Never Too Old to Achieve Your Dreams

I turned 27 recently over the past July. And that got me thinking that I’m 3 years shy of hitting the big 30 . It seemed so far away, when I was in my early 20s, but all of sudden, I have friends who are past 30, more are getting married and even pregnant. No, I’m not thinking about marriage – it’s still a milestone that’s not even remotely near in sight because I’m still very much single. But my recent birthday did got me thinking, just what did I achieve in the last 3-4 years since I started working and how far am I from achieving what I’d like to achieve?

And while I am not doing exceedingly well in property as some top producers are, I am doing better with every year which I am thankful for. While I still don’t own a car or close to owning my own property, I believe that these goals will become a reality in time, if I continue to be conscientious in providing good service and strategic in my plans as a property agent. Hopefully these goals will be reached sooner than later, especially since the property market is picking up in Singapore.

And while my current love life is almost non-existent (yes I admit I am picky) I am very blessed with a wide circle of friends – not just hi-bye friends but really good and supportive friends who make my life better with laughter and valuable encouragement, advice and insights.

And it got me thinking – what do I make of my life when I am 30? Heck, what do I make of my life at the end of it? Am I just going to work hard, be successful in my career, own a car, a house, find a good husband, get married and have kids? Is that all there is to my life?

Don’t get me wrong – to work hard, be successful in one’s career, own a car, a house, find a good husband, get married and have kids – that’s a great life right there. I want a life that’s greater than just these, a life that goes beyond just me.

I starting thinking – if I die today, will I leave a legacy behind? And if I do, what will that be?

I may never be able to be the next Mark Zuckerburg of Facebook, Larry Page and Sergey Brin of Google,  Bill Gates of Microsoft or Warren Buffet of the stock market world – but I still want to be able to leave a legacy and impact on this world that will live on even when I die.

My ambition in addition, or maybe in continuation of being a producing real estate agent, is to own and manage businesses and be a real estate developer (or part of a committee) when I am older. I also want to make an impact on this world by inspiring others to live a positive life – something I try to achieve through my social media platforms.

Right now I may not be able to see clearly what kind of legacy I will be leaving behind, in both tangible and intangible ways – but I believe that if I live my life earnestly one day at a time, I will be able to slow piece together the picture of my life that I envision.

No matter how old you are right now – I want to encourage you that you’re never too old to dream dreams and to achieve them.

If you’ve never heard the story of KFC by Colonel Sanders – here’s an extract from The Verge:
Sanders didn’t retire at the age of 65. That’s when he sold his first restaurant, and began developing the Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise in earnest. Nearly 60-years-old, he would spend days at a restaurant, peddling his chicken technique, cooking for customers, and often sleeping in the back of his car. At 73, he sold KFC for $2 million. He was not a billionaire, but he lived in comfort for the remainder of his years.

If Colonel Sanders can create a fried chicken franchise at the grand old grandfatherly age of 65 – what excuses do we have?

Ending off my post with OOTD pictures – deets below. 🙂

Polka Dot High Neck Top from Closet London‘s R.S.V.P Collection here.
Tuck Flare Wide Pants from Uniqlo. Similar here.

Of China Blue Dress & Comfy Grey Tops

I don’t know about you, but I very much prefer shopping in person in stores over online shopping when it comes to clothings – you certainly can’t touch or feel the material or see the size and fit of a piece on clothing online! That said, I consider myself blessed because my body size usually fits whatever the fit model dons on line (S or M) although I am a lot shorter then them, haha. So when I do come across a credible online website that ships affordable fashion – It makes me excited to share it with you!

The website in mention for today’s post is FashionMia. I picked a Round Neck Blue and White China Dress and 2 grey tops which I’ve been loving and wearing of late. Gotta say the material for its price is really decent and most importantly – comfortable!

Was out grocery shopping for dinner with my sister while in my dress hence the supermarket background photos you’ll see below. You can find the grey hoodie top here. For more dresses here and tops here.

Happy shopping!

Kapten & Son; for the adventurers and global citizens

How we dress is a way of self-expression and how we want others to perceive us. I’ve always worn a watch since I started going to school and I’ve always picked watches that express who I am. When I was younger, pink and white were colours of choice, they were colourful, cute and fun. But as I grew older, I gravitated to black colour as it’s not only easy to match but suitable for all occasions, totally practical. However recently I’ve taken a strong liking to rose gold as it’s not only a lovely but trending and fashionable colour.

My recent favourite watch of choice is from Kapten & Son’s in Campina with a Mesh band, black face and in rose gold colour. I love how the brand is designed for the adventurers and global citizens, folks who revel in freedom and enjoy travelling.  I also love how my watch is perfect for work appointments but also looks chic for casual events.

Grab your Kapten & Son watch of choice on their website here.

7 Recommended Beauty & Wellness Spots in Korea!

Are you planning for a pampering  trip with your girlfriends / mum or sisters soon?  I was just in Korea last month for a Beauty and Wellness trip and had the privilege to experience the best of Beauty and Wellness that Korea has to offer. Today’s post will cover 7 beauty spots and services that we visited which I highly recommend! Maybe you can KIV some spots for your next trip! 😉

(1) K-Beauty Makeover at Beauté 101

Beauté 101 is one of Korea’s top 1-stop shop for all your beauty needs; hair, makeup and nails. Need to prep for a night out in Korea? Fret not – just be in your outfit for the night, factor 2-3 hours with them and you’ll be ready to rock and roll in style, with your tresses, makeup and nails done. I also recommend checking out the nearby alleyways for cute spots for OOTDs like we did! For a basic hair styling, makeup and nails package like I did, it costs 242,000 won (S$298), add another 100,000 won (S$122) to upgrade to a party/special package. Located in Gangam, check out their Facebook page here and be sure to reserve in advance for your slot.

(2) Luxe Facial Spa at Sulwhasoo Flagship Store

If you’re travelling with your mum or favourite aunt, may I suggest and recommend booking a luxe Facial Spa at Sulwhasoo Flagship Store – Korea’s equivalent of La Mer, whether it’s products, place or service, it won’t disappoint. On the ground floor, you’ll find exhibitions of past and present products and packaging. If you think that the ground floor is astounding, you’ll be further impressed by their second level where #interiorgoals abound. You’ll find a gift wrapping segment followed by an array of current ranges of products which are free for testing followed by a private lounge area where you can sip tea and enjoy testing out the products one by one, including the famed Sulwhasoo – Harmonizen Regenerating Cream which costs 650,000 (S$800). Yes that’s right you didn’t read wrong. After shopping (according to the local staff, the store is very generous with their samples and price after discounts for tourists is even better than airport). Before you’re ushered off for your spa, enjoy a vial of ginseng ampoule (drank, not applied), complemented with a cuppa green tea to balance the bitterness of the ginseng. Following which, you can proceed to their spa level and then into individual rooms which are designed like hotel rooms, with individual shower room. The facial spa begins with a foot soak followed by scrub with their special ginseng body scrub that’s not for sale and only available at the spa – talk about exclusivity! There’s even an iPhone cable charge in the spa room, super thoughtful. After the facial, which ends off with Sulwhasoo’s very thorough skincare regime, you can prep your tresses and apply their in house Sulwhasoo makeup foundation and blusher at the private makeup room. I also love that their staff speak basic conversational english pretty well. Visit them at 650, Sinsadong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea.

In case you’re wondering what’s in the Sulwhasoo facial, these are my notes – I can’t recall the entire skincare regime at the end as it was too extensive!:

Hot feet soak
Ginseng scrub
Facial portion:
Remove makeup
Cleansing oil
Hot towel
White ginseng scrub
Sleeping mask
Rest
After facial skincare:
First treatment essence
Lotion
Moisturizer
Serum
Sunblock

(Visit their site if you’d like to find out more about their Beauty Ritual)

(3) Soak, spa & massage at women’s only Spa Lei

Lei Spa is a popular women’s only spa, and rated #7 out of 230 spas and wellness places in Seoul on TripAdvisor. As we were fully made-over after our Beaute101 experience and we were a little short of time during our visit to Spa Lei, we didn’t (want to) experience a full soak, sauna and massage which will ruin our hair and makeup, lol. We did however enjoy a drink and hot feet soak at both their outdoor and indoor foot spa. While their staff speak very limited english, I was very impressed with their 3 floors of facilities ranging from saunas, spa, massage, sleeping rooms, TV rooms, outdoor terrace, cafe, nails services and more – I can imagine it’s a place to hang out with my girlfriends for a whole day just doing sauna, spa, massage, meals, nails and more. For as little as 2000won an hour, it’s no wonder Spa Lei is a hit with both local and tourists alike. Do note that privacy is a huge concern, so you will need to keep your phones in the locker as no phones are allowed in the spa.spa-lei-women-only-spa-in-korea-beauty-wellness-must-go-review-enabalista_0000 spa-lei-women-only-spa-in-korea-beauty-wellness-must-go-review-enabalista_0001 spa-lei-women-only-spa-in-korea-beauty-wellness-must-go-review-enabalista_0002 spa-lei-women-only-spa-in-korea-beauty-wellness-must-go-review-enabalista_0003 spa-lei-women-only-spa-in-korea-beauty-wellness-must-go-review-enabalista_0004 spa-lei-women-only-spa-in-korea-beauty-wellness-must-go-review-enabalista_0006

(4) Skincare and Makeup Shopping at Myeong Dong

If you count yourself a K-beauty lover, no trip to Korea would be complete without visiting Myeong Dong where there’s an endless supply and promotion of all things Korean skincare and makeup. If you’re a fan of new skincare brands, then you must pay a visit to Olive Young who stocks brands that are more under the radar before they are established enough to have their owns stores, such as CNP, WakeWake and ElishaCoy. If you’re like me and a fan of established skincare and makeup brands such as Laneige, EtudeHouse, Clio & TheFaceshop, then it’s best to plan your trip to coincide with Korea’s sales season which is start of October and the next one would be early next year, visit Visit Korea website or Korea Grand Sale website for updates. If you’re planning to buy in bulk, my local friend suggests visiting Duty Free at Lotte Mall for really awesome bulk discounts.

Also, no street shopping is complete without street snacks!I will be writing a separate article on recommended Korean food spots, but thought I should add this in as well. Speaking of street snacks, On my first night in Korea, I’d met up with my friend, Livia for Chimac dinner. Livia works at Charis and she gifted me with a Klairs Mochi Bb cushion, a lightweight foundation – you can get it from my Charis online store here~  Also, I have to mention that you can get lots of awesome Korean snacks at Big Mart at Myeong Dong, opens till 12am!

I also recommend staying at Lotte City Myeongdong Hotel which is a 10 minutes walk away from Myeong Dong shopping streets. A relatively new hotel with impeccable and friendly staff service, good breakfast spread, comfortable bedroom and great housekeeping service.

Apart from Myeong Dong, I also recommend paying a visit to Gangnam where you’ll find Style Nanda and many shop fronts with lovely visual merchandising in their windows and having a cuppa coffee at Coffeesmith, just to people watch – the dudes are particularly handsome there, haha.

(5) Wellness Treatment at KwangDong Oriental Hospital

Have I mentioned that we’ve been treated to only the best in Korea during our trip? The same can be said of our visit to KwangDong Oriental Hospital – we were there on a Friday morning at 9.30am and there were already customers at the counters paying for their oriental medicine dosage/satchets after their check ups. My wellness session with KwangDong Oriental Hospital started with registration, followed by consultation with the doctor, interpreted by a very eloquent lady named Jenny – the doctor then administered my virgin acupuncture experience (pretty painless in fact) on my stiff shoulders and aching calves followed by a cold stone facial spa and hot herbal foot pack – it was an incredible and unique experience to have a cold and hot sensation simultaneously on the opposing ends of my body. I love my experience at KwangDong Oriental Hospital and hope to bring my parents there some day.

(6) Relaxing Spa Session at Herb Island

Last but not the least, if you’re a fan of whimsical European style, I recommend visiting Herb Island and experiencing the Spa session after lunch and staying until the evening when the place is lit in the night. The Spa session starts off with tea and registration followed by a foot soak, a hot pack experience while laying on a cloth over dried hay (I imagine that’s how Jesus felt when he was a baby in a manger, lol) and ending off with massage (choice of back or feet, I picked feet). Also, the shops are super pretty, if you’re a fan of aromatic oil, scents and tea, it’s a place you can stock up on supplies!

Browtisan Creative Eyebrow Embroidery Review

Hi Loves~

A while back, I popped by Browtisan’s Pop Up Booth at ION Orchard Atrium for a quick Browtisan Creative Eyebrow Embroidery session. Eyebrow artisan and Browtisan founder Coco designed and did a Gradient Eyebrow Embroidery for me and I love it!!! Check out what went down in the photos below! 😉

And the embroidery session began after Coco drew on the eyebrows for me using pencil first~

It’s catered for me especially to cover up a scar across my left eyebrow, where the line eyebrow embroidery technique doesn’t last.browtisan-creative-eyebrow-embroidery-review-enabalista_0007 browtisan-creative-eyebrow-embroidery-review-enabalista_0008 The colour gradually darkens as she’s working on it.

I was given an after embroidery care package, which as definitely levelled up since my first embroidery session with them in March 2015! Thank you Browtisan & Yi Yun for inviting me down for the the ION Orchard Pop Up and Coco for my beautiful new brows! <3

If you’re wondering, the entire session is painless especially since they apply on anaesthetic cream first. I love how beautiful, feminine, demure and on trend the eyebrow embroidery design and I’ve gotten so much compliments from family and friends, I highly recommend Browtisan not only for their beautiful designs but also for their top notch, professional and friendly service!

Yellow Cup Coffee Date with Belles | #ThrowbackThursday

Sometimes I surprise myself. These days the blogging mojo has been so strong, I’m back to publishing 2-3 posts a week. And that means I’m finally down to blogging about really old backlog and in this case, a coffee date with my belles, aka Christabelle and Clarabelle from 2 years ago. I did a quick check, while fortunately Yellow Cup Coffee still exists (kudos to them and also a testament to their staying power), I can’t promise that the interior and menu is still the same. While prepping for this post, I recall the fun times with belles at this quirky cafe and the food and coffee are fairly decent and reasonably priced (still so, see their menu here) for a cafe brunch. Visit their website for more information here. Maybe it’s time for a revisit to this under the radar cafe soon!

How times flies, really. Clarabelle and I are both July babies, so we’ll be meeting up to celebrate our birthdays this month, hopefully I won’t be taking another 2 years to post up this year’s celebration photos. 😛

Can’t wait to clear all the back log posts, really! I’ll be moving to a new blog update system where I’ll post up events, reviews, thoughts and what-nots on a weekly or monthly schedule rather than breaking them down on a singular event/review basis because I simply don’t have the luxury of time for those and simply have too much inertia when I think of how tedious / much work / time it takes to do so. I’ll definitely be posting up weekly vlogs on my Youtube channel here – check it out if you haven’t! Let me know if you have any thoughts on the upcoming changes! 😉

Stay Hip & Chic with BIG Hotel Singapore

Over the recent labour day holiday, Christabelle and I enjoyed our extended weekend at boutique hotel, BIG Hotel Singapore. Super love the chic, grey textured walls and its Pinterest-worthy minimalistic interior. <3

Belle and I made full use of our 1D1N with girly activities such as playing with new make up, photo taking at the alley ways/spots near by the hotel, thai food at Aroy Dee for dinner, The Daily Scoop (at School of the Arts) for desserts and masks (mutiple, yes, haha) time before we called it a night. During our fruitful staycation, we were also appropriately (mostly me, haha since Belle doesn’t really drinks coffee) with Nespresso and Cafedirect coffee, it’s sweet that BIG Hotel has a Nespresso machine in the room. Have I mentioned how much I love the chic coffee corner? 😉BIG Hotel Singapore Review Lifestyle Blogger Ena Teo Enabalista _0003 BIG Hotel Singapore Review Lifestyle Blogger Ena Teo Enabalista _0008 BIG Hotel Singapore Review Lifestyle Blogger Ena Teo Enabalista _0010 BIG Hotel Singapore Review Lifestyle Blogger Ena Teo Enabalista _0009 BIG Hotel Singapore Review Lifestyle Blogger Ena Teo Enabalista _0006 BIG Hotel Singapore Review Lifestyle Blogger Ena Teo Enabalista _0007 BIG Hotel Singapore Review Lifestyle Blogger Ena Teo Enabalista _0004 BIG Hotel Singapore Review Lifestyle Blogger Ena Teo Enabalista _0005BIG Hotel Singapore Review Lifestyle Blogger Ena Teo Enabalista _0013BIG Hotel Singapore Review Lifestyle Blogger Ena Teo Enabalista _0012 BIG Hotel Singapore Review Lifestyle Blogger Ena Teo Enabalista _0011 BIG Hotel Singapore Review Lifestyle Blogger Ena Teo Enabalista _0014New cosmetics from Etude House Play 101 Sticks / cushion concealers, Laneige BB Cushion, K-Palette Rose Eyeliner, Kate Tokyo Eyeshadow Palettes, Stenders Handcream and Lipbalm.

The comfy bed and sheets made for a great night’s rest. All in, BIG Hotel is an affordable, chic option that I’d recommend whether you’re considering for a local stay-cation or visiting from abroad. Staff we met at the hotel were also very pleasant and courteous – they definitely made our stay that much sweeter. Plus, it’s located conveniently close to Bugis MRT (if you’re taking the train down from Changi Airport, from the green line) and walking distance to Dhoby Ghaut and Little India where you can explore more of Singapore whether for shopping, dining or cultural spots. If you’re keen, you can also check out my alma-mater LASALLE College of the Arts which is literally behind BIG hotel, if you’re in luck you might coincide your stay with graduating students’ exhibitions. happening from now, 20th May to 1st June!

Thank you BIG Hotel & Chelsea for arranging the stay for review!

Weekend Getaway to Genting Highlands!

Hi Loves!

I’m back again! 😀

Yesterday I posted about my review of Aaron Crow’s Fearless Magic show, the highlight of my recent weekend trip to Genting Highlands. Today I’ll be posting about the rest of the trip and cover everything else we did! It’s gonna be super image heavy! 😛Enabalista Media Review Resorts World Genting March 2016_0000Traveling with my sis for this trip! On the coach~

This time round, I explored the Coffee Terrace place with Chiu Yen and sis and found this sightseeing spot:

Then I was trying to practise selfies/wefies on my new Canon G7 camera…

Enabalista Resorts World Genting Review_0000Apparently my sis is a pro at it! 😛
Enabalista Resorts World Genting Review_0001Here’s one of me after a few takes. But as you can see, I can’t seem to take on with one hand only… I need more practice. Haha.

Next we headed to Snow World!!! I know I sound super excited now, when I was initially not. But I unexpectedly had a lot of fun for what was supposed to be for kids/children, hahaha. All you need to have fun, is to have a child’s heart! 😛

Photos and cameras are not allowed (except for media) inside Snow World as they have professional photographers inside and will charge you for photos, should you want.

After this we couldn’t snap photos when the Snow World opened to public and we kept our cameras away, but I did get to seat the slide which is only for people before 65kg, and we also played with the red sledges and it was a lot of fun! After Snow World, we went to catch the Fearless Magic Show, which I’ve already covered in the previous post. After the show, we had dinner at Bubbles & Bites!

The name Bubbles & Bites originates from the fact that the restaurant serves simple western food with an exquisite list of drinks―including sparkling wines imported from such countries as Italy, Spain and France. Hence the word“Bubbles.”  True to its name, Bubbles & Bites makes the perfect chillout place for effervescent young people, families and all others who believe great food and good ambience go hand in hand.

Let’s check out the place!

The next morning we checked out some of the art at the lobby and I took shots for my OOTDS before we headed for breakfast at Food Factory! 🙂

Fascinating pancake making machine!

The chef says the machines make it possible to serve up to 2,000 people at one time. The pancake machine, for instance, can make up to 200 pieces of pancakes in approximately 30 minutes. Using the machine saves time and energy. More interesting fun facts: Making pancakes for 2,000 people requires 7.2 kg of flour, 13 eggs and 7.2 liter of milk!

Stepping into Spring

With the Lunar New Year only a day away, I thought it fitting to share some of my recent outfits that’s perfect for the festive season. Since young, it’s been a tradition for my family and I to don on new clothes for the new year, but I’ve never been clear or sure of why that is the case. A little google research online revealed that it’s a traditional belief that new year heralds new beginning and so we wear new clothes to celebrate. Well for me, I’d take any reason to shop for new clothes! 😛 As you can see, I’ve already worn these outfits so they won’t be “new” per se, I’ve actually purchased and reserved one set of outfit, a top from my friend, Aggy’s online label Tact.sg and a red leather skirt from Stradivarius for the very first day, which you can expect to see either on my Instagram or an upcoming blog post. 😉 For this post, I’ve picked this Begin Again dress from C/MEO, an increasingly popular and cult fashion brand from Australia with chic silhouettes and cuts which you can purchase from Revolve. You might not have heard about MARYLING, as they’re new to Singapore but have been rapidly expanding from their home country Italy, Milan to China, Korea and is also no stranger to many female Hong Kong celebrities. What I love about this brand is their unique one of a kind pieces, in fact for Singapore, they’re only bringing in each design with a few varying sizes. Talk about exclusivity! Have I mentioned that MARYLING uses the same lace and tweed fabrics that produces Chanel pieces? So you’ll find very fine fabrics including 100% silk that feels soft and great on the skin. You’ll find their temporary pop up store at Takashimaya Level 3, Women Department, before they launch their flagship store officially in Singapore.

Wishing you and your loved ones a very blessed and prosperous Lunar New Year in advance!

Leather & Lace

Hi loves!

Do you love the leather & lace combination like I do? If the outfit seems similar, it’s because I wore this out to Affordable Art Fair 2015.

Sammydress leather jacket bag 001 Sammydress leather jacket bag 002

Super love this cute Crossbody Bag with chain from Sammydress, available here. I bought my white lace dress from Temt in Singapore. You can also shop from Sammydress’s collection of white lace dresses here. Alternatively, I also recommend this grey lace sweater mini dress. The pieces from Sammydress are super affordable with most pieces below $20, and even below $10. The quality and finishing may not be perfect but they definitely provide a great variety. Items ship from China and takes 1-2 weeks to arrive.

Thank you Sammydress for leather bag and grey lace sweater mini dress!

Purple Hair @ Chez Vous

Hi Loves!

Well, a few months back I sported purple hair, just in case you missed it on my IG. I did it for Chez Vous’ look book – for a detailed explanation of how to achieve the look, check it out here! For all 20 look, see here.

What I learnt about sporting purple hair:
1. It required bleaching my hair 3x to get a blondish colour before dye-ing purple. It lasts for about 3 weeks before it all fades, leaving just a tad purple at the base.
2. A lot of people will come up to you and say “Wow, you’re so brave!” which I later figured out it’s a nicer way of saying, “Wow, that’s crazy!”. Yes, really. That said, it was a real conversation starter. People I’m not really close to at work/office will start conversations with my hair colour “Oh, it has faded? That fast?” “How do you maintain this!”.
3. Speaking of maintenance. Let’s just say that crazy coloured hair that requires bleaching your hair 3x is not for the faint hearted or the lazy (which I am, but for my hair… I was rather diligent..). I won’t bore you with the details, but if you are keen, maybe I will share another post of how diligent I was in hair maintenance, post purple hair. Honestly I won’t dare repeat such a feat without the trusted hair directors at Chez Vous. Leave the bleach on too long or too near your scalp and you might get burned. It will damage your hair, that’s for sure, but it’s how you lessen the damage during the colour and how you take care with post hair colour treatments, to give your hair some semblance of life…
4. Once in my life is enough. I don’t regret having my hair in a pretty purple, YOLO, guys. Gotta try it at least once! And if not now, then when? I don’t want to be 30, married with kids and sporting purple hair. Not judging those that do, just not something I’d do when I’m 30… I think.

Wow, didn’t know there was so much I had to share about my purple hair colour journey!

Some snaps from when I had purple hair!:

20 Picks from Sandro’s FW 2015/16

Hi Loves!

We’re right in the midst of fall, if you haven’t got your wardrobe Fall ready, here are some of my picks from Sandro’s FW 2015/16 collection!

Sandro is a Parisian brand with refined & versatile men’s and women’s collections. Founded by Evelyne Chetrite in 1984, she developed a new women’s aesthetics – modern and sophisticated with a hint of androgyny.  In line with the Sandro sensibility, Evelyne’s son, Ilan, launched Sandro Homme in 2008 focusing on revisited classics with a modern twist.

Sandro’s FW 2015/16 is very much on trend with this season’s revival of 70’s aesthetics. Specifically this collection pays homage to the legendary American rock festivals.  Lace, floral prints and bordeaux(wine) & tan colour evokes bohemian vibes, leather, studs & demin completes the androgynous, rock look. 70’s key pieces such as the flare pants makes a reprise, paired with finely knit turtle neck for a modern look.

My favourite pieces will have to be those with lace, bordeaux colours and with studs – these pieces are timeless and will stay in the wardrobe for a long time. But I also really love the printed tops, with graphics and words like “Mirror” and “Freedom”. These adds more excitement and will also potentially be pieces that will remind you of the fun times.

Some snaps from the store visit followed by the 20 picks from the women’s collection!

Singapore Fashion Week 2015 Recap

Hi loves!

Well you’ve probably seen my IG updates from months back when I attended a few shows from Singapore Fashion Week, mostly the young designers show, namely LASALLE Graduation show & Harpers Bazaar Next Gen show. Also attended the Star Creation & Zalora shows but did not manage to snap any nice photos so there’s none from those shows for this post~ 😛

While I definitely enjoyed both LASALLE Grad show and Harpers Bazaar Next Gen show – I find that LASALLE show designs focused more on artistic concepts & were more explorative, understandably as it’s an arts school (and my Alma mater, where I studied Fashion Media & Industries, majoring in Management), while Harpers’ show designs were a lot more “commercialized”, collections that look like they already belonged in the store. There’s no critical judgement from me either ways, as I would love to have pieces from select designers (you’ll know which from my comments/captions below, heh) from both shows in my wardrobe!

Alright, enough with my introductions~2015-05-14 08.54.51 2015-05-14 08.54.53 2015-05-14 08.54.55 2015-05-14 08.54.56Loving my make up for the day, hence the slew of selfies, heh. Am missing my hair from those days before I bleached it. Lol.
2015-05-14 09.37.58Getting ready to meet my inspiration, Miroslava Duma. In case you don’t know her, she was a fashion magazine editor, currently a street style icon and founder of buro247.com – which is now present in more than 7-8 countries featuring luxury fashion and lifestyle topics. She’s extremely well connected, business minded and savvy! While she still look like a teenager, she’s in her thirties and she has 2 kids! Don’t ask me how she does it!

2015-05-14 23.28.40Met up with Sifra my LASALLE school mate & Smita for the talk!
2015-05-14 10.25.37The emcee did such a bad job honestly. Her questions were so bad, some didn’t even make sense. It would have been much better if Duma and Dion Lee interviewed each other. It was such a waste that we did not get to hear more from the two of them as the questions were a waste of time/did not make sense.2015-05-14 23.35.44Nonetheless, with the little that was shared, it was inspiring to hear from Duma, who shared about having good work ethics – you’ve got to work for it, don’t expect things to drop down from the sky!
2015-05-14 11.13.26-2And got a pic with her!!! <3 Thanks to Smita! <3

2015-05-14 14.15.59Snapped a pic of this dude with this crazy and cool tiger head bag.

2015-05-15 21.10.02Headed to Chez Vous to get my hair done for Star Creation later in the evening. Belatedly realize that I should have gone for sleek back hair since I was wearing a rather edgy dress. Ohwells!
2015-05-14 22.25.20With cuties Q-li & Jem whom I met at SFW!

Day 2 of SFW, decided to have my hair done at the salon near my place before heading down!

And after it’s done, selfie taken on the cab! Decided to go for a very defined and red carpet-style hair and makeup look. Sleek hair back is actually no longer on trend since it’s been done 2-3 years back, but who cares as long as I like the look, heh!

Starting with the LASALLE Fashion graduation show – fashion students’ names as captured on the photos:

Hearts & Lights Aglow this Christmas at ION Orchard

Hi Loves~

I was at ION Orchard’s media breakfast the other morning and my heart was warmed to hear about their Christmas initiatives!

ION Orchard Christmas 2015 006

In a nutshell, ION Orchard celebrates the season of giving in partnership with a dozen designer brands as part of its efforts to give back to the less privileged.

ION Orchard Christmas 2015 003

To mark the festivities, there will be 12 Christmas trees specially designed by key brands at ION Orchard; customised gift wrapping paper jointly designed by special needs students; and the mall’s outdoor space, ION² will be transformed into a glittering Christmas Garden.

ION Orchard Christmas 2015 004

The 12 designer trees of Christmas for charity

In a unique collaboration, 12 brands at ION Orchard will each offer its interpretation of Christmas with a specially designed exquisite 2.4-metre-tall Christmas tree. They are Alice + Olivia, Braun Büffel, Buben & Zorweg, Cortina Watch, Crate & Barrel, Diane Von Furstenberg, Ermenegildo Zegna, Kurt Geiger, Kwanpen, Moncler, Parfums Christian Dior and TWG Tea.

ION Orchard Christmas 2015 005The trees will be central to the mall’s fund-raising activities for Christmas, inspiring ION Orchard VIP members and loyal shoppers to open up their hearts and put in bids to adopt the tree or trees of their choice by using the iPad next to each tree. Bids start at S$8,000, with the highest bidder getting adoption and naming rights for each tree of their choice plus a token of appreciation from the respective brands and ION Orchard.

ION Orchard Christmas 2015 001ION Orchard’s traditional 20-metre outdoor tree will be given a sparkling makeover in the mall’s first partnership with Swarovski. It will be adorned with more than 28,000 crystals while its cavernous walk-in interior will dazzle visitors with a kaleidoscope of lights, mirrored ceilings and a rotating chandelier. This is also Swarovski’s first outdoor Christmas tree in Singapore.

At the heart of ION Orchard’s festive celebrations will be a series of fundraising activities to benefit the Community Chest, with proceeds going to the Rainbow Centre Yishun Park School.

In a partnership with NETS, shoppers can also make direct donations at several donation points near concierge counters at Basement 3 and, Levels 1 and 4.

Funds raised will go towards helping the Rainbow Centre Yishun Park School, under the care of Community Chest. Some 350 students will benefit from the funds raised. As part of the Care & Share Movement led by Community Chest, donations received will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Government.

In addition to raising funds for the less advantaged this season, our collaboration with Community Chest creates a platform for special needs students from Rainbow Centre Yishun Park School to showcase their creativity and imagination by designing the mall’s Christmas wrappers.

Beneficiaries from Rainbow Centre Yishun Park School will be assisting with gift wrapping at the L1 concierge on 13th November from 10.30am to 12.30pm and on 14th November from 6.00 to 8.30pm, lending a personalized touch to the mall’s gift wrapping service for its shoppers.
