Effective Scar Removal Mederma Proactive Gel

Hi Loves!

You know how pesky mosquito bite scars can be on the calves, legs, arms and neck? Thank God for scar removal gels!

Mederma Proactive Scar Removal Gel Blogger Review 002Mederma, the No. 1 doctor-recommended scar management brand in the USA, is now in Singapore with their highly-raved Mederma Proactive Gel, a great healing product that has been proven to help to visibly reduce scarring. This proactive gel works on many types of scars – from operation and old-injury scars, and even acne scars!

Mederma Proactive Scar Removal Gel Blogger Review 001Thanks to Mederma SG and The PR People, they prepared a Quick-Fix Kit just for me, for those little emergencies and curveballs that life throws up, including, of course, the Mederma Proactive Gel.

I’ve tried it on my facial acne scars and I was impressed with the translucent gel and especially how lightweight it was! My bestie Fion suffered from pesky mozzie scars from her Taiwan trip and I passed her the gel to use and she LOVES it! She’s now unto her second tube. Beverly also blogged about how she used 3 tubes after her C-section birth to her baby. This stuff is legit, guys.

Mederma Proactive Gel is available in 20g ($29.80) and 50g ($59.80) at all Guardian, Unity, and selected Watsons stores. The 50g pack size is only available at Guardian stores.

Diptyque’s Florabellio Launch @ Escentials Paragon

Hi Loves!

I’m finally getting up to speed on posting about Diptyque’s Florabellio fragrance launch on the blog, yay! That’s why you should follow me on my Instagram @ena_teo and Facebook if you haven’t, because I update these platforms when I’m at events/ on the spot moments! Sometimes I get kind of torn and think about ditching my blog cause it takes so much more effort to publish a post, but then I think about how people can’t find an Instagram post like they can find a blog post when they google for reviews, and of course I’ve come to compile sooo much content on my blog that obviously I can’t give up on it, it’s too precious. So I just need to work on updating my blog more often! #Icandothis #Ivegotit 😀

For the uninitiated, Diptyque is a Parisian that started off at 34 boulevard Saint Germain as a home decor brand of sorts before they expanded to include home and personal fragrances. Now they’ve reached a cult status as a home fragrance brand for the discerning, just check out #Diptyque on Instagram.

Diptyque’s new spring fragrance Florabellio is inspired by Diptyque’s founder Christiane Gautrot’s childhood memories growing up by the Normandy seaside, apple orchards and smelling fresh coffee in the morning. 🙇🌊🍎🌳☕️ (Yay to emoticons on the blog! hahaha) This unique scent starts with the freshness of osmanthus, layered with sea fennel (smells similar to the peppery anise), apple blossoms and ends with coffee notes. After application, the scent smells powdery or musky on different skin. All in all, a refreshing spring scent that ends on a nostalgic & sensual note.

I personally really enjoyed the intimate blogger/instagrammer session organized by escentials, I love how they evoked our various senses with the visual projection, story telling, illustrations and of course fragrances that make up the new scent. It was a beautiful experience! I recommend the use of this fragrance if you’re an outdoorsy kind of person or for an outdoor date. 😌🍃

The 50ml retails for $144 and the 100ml retails for $190. escentials is located at Paragon, 290 Orchard Road, #03-02/05, Singapore 238859. Tel: 6737 2478. Thank you escentials for the lovely evening & Leanne for the invite~

Hi Loves!

Lol, I know my hair colour is completely different by now, and it shouldn’t come as a surprise if you’re my frequent blog reader cause I take forever and a day to update my blog. But, ahem, just a few months ago, when my hair colour was in a very vibrant blondish brown with ash grey highlights, I had my hair roots touched up and here are the pictures! Looking back at these photos made me realize that I really do like this hair colour on me, must be my inner LA girl unleashed! Also, I’ve come to really like my Chez Vous salon trip updates on my blog, because they give me a legit reason to spam selfies, HAHAHA. 😛 Thanks Jamie for the original hair dye and Shawn (pictured below) for the touch up! Hollywood Celebrities’ Skincare Favourite EMK Beverly Hills

Hi Loves!

A while back I was invited to the launch of EMK Beverly Hills skincare at Escentials Paragon outlet and today I’m excited to be sharing with you their star product and more!

EMK Singapore Blogger Review 001

As their names says, this brand hails from US, Beverly Hills, where many Hollywood celebrities reside. The brand was founded by Emilia Karsh, a professor and chemist who wanted to help her friend who suffered burn scars on the face. She applied the derivatives of human placenta which helped her friend recover and thereafter developed a line of products made from botanical placenta extract which is similar to the human placenta that helps expedite the healing process; thus EMK Beverly Hills was born. The brand was originally only available through dermatologists who recommended it to celebrities like Victoria Beckham; who has been using it for a decade now. Magazine also reports that Simon Cowell is a huge fan of their anti-aging face serum and face mask and the EMK representative told me that Cowell uses half a bottle (too extravagantly) on the face each time and buys them by the dozen.

EMK Singapore Blogger Review 002

I had the pleasure to use and review 3 EMK Beverly Hills products; Anti-Aging Facial Cleanser, 3 in 1 Live Anti-Aging Facial Mask and the Supra Night Cream.EMK Singapore Blogger Review 009_Fotor_Collage

The EMK Beverly Hills Anti-Aging Facial Cleanser Anti-Aging Facial Cleanser is a gentle and light cleanser that promises to exfoliate, hydrate and repair. It also comes with a light medicinal scent that’s reminiscent of cough syrup (no kidding). The cleanser contains hyaluronic acid and shea butter to restore the skin’s natural moisture balance. What I like about this cleanser is the light texture which feels luxurious, moisturizing and leaves the skin fresh without drying it out. However I don’t feel its supposed exfoliating effects. This is the first anti-aging facial cleanser I’ve used, as I previously tend to use facial cleanser that leaves my slightly oily skin feeling tauter. Therefore I use this in the morning and use a stronger facial cleanser in the night. I would recommend this facial cleanser especially for people with dry and sensitive skin.

EMK Beverly Hills Supra Night Recovery Cream after application on the skin.

I personally tend to be wary of night cream as they tend to be too enriching for me and cause me to breakout especially in our warm and humid weather. However I am quite in love with this EMK Beverly Hills Supra Night Recovery Cream because even though it’s a cream, it’s light and it absorbs into the skin very quickly. Plus it  has a botanical/fresh floral scent which I love! The cream promises to combat wrinkles, firm and hydrate. I can’t be sure about the wrinkles (thankfully they haven’t showed up), but it definitely absorbs into the skin to firm and hydrate! This EMK Beverly Hills Supra Night Recovery Cream has worked well for me in our Singapore weather and I can imagine it will work great across dry and cold weathers too, I recommend it as an all around ideal night cream for everyone. 🙂

EMK Singapore Blogger Review 005 EMK Singapore Blogger Review 010_Fotor_CollageEMK Beverly Hills 3 in 1 Live Anti-Aging Facial Mask is the pleasant surprise and my favourite of the 3 products in review today! Again, I have a misconception that Anti-Aging products are heavy and too enriching for me. However this product completely proved me wrong and it’s a total winner. The EMK Beverly Hills 3 in 1 Live Anti-Aging Facial Mask promises to 1. Detoxify, softens and soothes, 2. Stimulates and boosts collagen, 3. Revitalizes & deeply hydrates. You can use this either as a 15 min mask and wash away, or apply generously and leave it in for a night and wash in the morning. I tried both and I LOVE the effect after leaving it in for a night and I would recommend the latter strongly. EMK Beverly Hills 3 in 1 Live Anti-Aging Facial Mask definitely hydrated, calmed and clarify my blemished skin, after leaving it in overnight, I awake to refreshed skin that’s clearer and brighter. I’ve been recommending this to my friends and it’s now on par with my other Holy Grail item, Estee Lauder’s Advance Night Repair. It’s that good, guys. I strongly recommend this EMK Beverly Hills 3 in 1 Live Anti-Aging Facial Mask for folks looking for a mask that will make your tired and blemished skin feel and look better/great after a night’s sleep!

You can shop EMK Singapore products online at Luxola.com. Follow them on IG @EMK_Singapore.

Thank you EMK Singapore for the event invite and products for review!

March Recaps

Hello Lovelies! <3

It’s been so long I did a random “day in my life” type of blog post that I can’t even remember when was the last time I did a post like this! >.<

Nonetheless, as I’ve been repeating like a spoilt recorder that I’ve to update about the events I’ve been invited for and since my time is limited, I delay in blogging about the other random but unusual stuff I would take part in and capture in my daily life. So yes, altho it’s 2-3 months go, here’s my random updates from late Feb and March! 😀 Speaking of which, yes you can expect to look forward to April and May’s editions which are 3-5times longer than this. HAHA.

Dinner date with Bini at the new (then new, LOL) Concetto by Saveur modern day italian restaurant

Hours
Daily: 12:00 – 21:30

Salmon with Peas. Peas too salty for my liking by I would go back for the Salmon again. I love salmon!!! Also Bini recommends their Prawn Aglio Olio, only except I can’t eat prawns. 🙁

Then we went to check out this cute Lego ice cream shop called “Bricks and Cubes” which apparently been around for a while except we just didn’t try it.

I don’t mean to disappoint by the Ipad ordering system doesnt seem to be very user friendly, I ended up going to the counter to order instead!
2014-02-27 20.57.36

Ice cream and waffle was unfortunately so-so, we had oreo and green tea. Super generous portions, priced at I think ~ $10, so not exactly cheap. I would pay for this with a group of 4 persons next time, plus the cafe is generally quite empty. Good to go with friends and play card games!

Also received this cute and free Jacqueline Burchell nail polish sample along Orchard Road during International Women’s day! Whose founder’s daughter I actually met in May at Luxola event, more of that in May’s post (I am finally getting down to all my event and review blog posts and clearing my back log, so my April and May recaps will come up soon, yay & phew~!).2014-03-09 15.03.01

I randomly chanced about Sunsilk Pop Up Hair Salon at Plaza Sing before The Face Shop event, so I had a free hair makeover & shoot!

Radiant Skin with EcoBeau Specialist Skin Care

Hi Lovelies! <3

Do you have sensitive and acne prone skin and looking for a safe cleanser and skincare regime?

In this post I’m reviewing EcoBeau’s skincare set which I’ve used for the last 2-3 weeks. And I’m happy to report what’s good. 😉

2014-06-17 13.19.17

Introduction of EcoBeau.

Info. from TheOrangeCo.com.

Started by Professor Choi from Kwangwoon University (Korea) and co-developed with University of Toledo (Ohio), Ecobeau is absolutely free from synthetic preservatives such as parabens and phenoxyethanol. The reference to “alcohol” on our labels refers to Cetyl alcohol, which is totally different from the harmful alcohols commonly added to skin care products. Cetyl alcohol is extracted from coconut oil and acts as a gentle and nourishing binder for the water and oil parts of our formulation.

At Ecobeau, we stand by our strong belief in using only natural herb-medicine extract and loess. Antimicrobial, nutritive and hydrating extract of medicinal herb keeps skin-mite’s activity under control while Loess effect derived from far infrared rays and anion of loess cleans, soothes & supplies abundant nutrition deep into the skin.

Ecobeau’s antimicrobial and anti-aging properties help to stimulate skin cell’s regenerating system. It may not show immediate results as synthetic and harsh skincare products out in the market which many a times only provide temporary efficacy. Its antioxidant extract from herb medicine diminishes wrinkles and acts as natural source of whitening. Continuous use of Ecobeau line will give you bright, moist, smooth, resilient and clear lustrous skin.  Ecobeau was exclusively distributed by specialist skin care centers in Korea. Now launched at www.TheOrangeCo.com. Enjoy natural rejuvenating skin treatment at home, at a fraction of cost charged by the luxury skin salons.
Simply Natural and Restorative for the Skin.
Safe & Effective! For All Skin Types including Sensitive and Acne Skin
Free from alcohol, synthetic preservatives, parabens, sulfates, paraffin wax, petroleum, mineral oils, gluten and artificial colorants.
No Synthetic Preservatives. No Alcohol. No Parabens.

Is it really all as good as it sounds? Thanks to TheOrangeCo, I’ve had the chance to put the products to test. I was sent products good for Hydrating, Whitening & Oily T-zone. 🙂

Ecobeau Loess Water Cleanser is formulated from natural loess harvested from mother earth. Depending on the loess minute mineral harvested, product may vary slightly in colour, scent and sometimes with mineral sediments. That’s because Ecobeau Loess Water Cleanser is 100% natural, with no artificial colouring and preservatives.

What is Loess?
Loess is minute mineral matter that aids health by emitting infrared rays, and has excellent absorptive, purifying, and revitalizing properties. In one tables spoon full of Loess, approximately 200 million microscopic organisms can be found, and those microscopic organisms have abundant supply of enzyme called ‘Catalase’ that breaks down oxides, which also have the effect of anti-oxidant; reduce heat, metabolisms and relaxation.

Loess is a new concept to me, so I did a bit of research and I found this write up online particularly helpful and insightful, so here’s an excerpt:
Loess is a geologically recent deposit of silt or material which is usually yellowish or brown in color and consisting of tiny mineral particles brought by wind to the places where they now lie. It is a product of past glacial activity in an area. It is a sedimentary deposit of mineral particles which are finer than sand but coarser than dust or clay, deposited by the wind. Loess is a type of silt which forms fertile topsoil in some parts of the world.
Loess was formed during the time after the Ice Age when glaciers covered a great portion of the earth. When the climate warmed up, the warm temperatures melted the glaciers creating tremendous flows of water down into a valley or river, and exposing vast plains of mud. When these plains dried, strong winds blew the exposed sediments and swept the finer materials from the flood plains into huge clouds of dust, which were deposited into the bluffs, that is, bold steep banks. As silt accumulated, higher bluffs were formed. Often several loess deposits are stacked on top of each other, because each individual glacier produced new loess deposits. Topsoils made up of loess are found in the central and northwestern parts of United States, in central and eastern Europe, and in eastern China.

The closest thing I can draw a parallel with is humus, which is essentially rich, fertile soil aka decomposed organic material, except that Loess is more like past-glacier-enriched-sand.

I enjoyed using this product very much. It’s very user friendly, 1 single pump results in a palm full (my palm anyways) of foam that doesn’t require any lathering. The scent is refreshing and “aqua” and the foam is very gentle. It gently cleanses my skin and it leaves the skin fresh and hydrated, no taut feeling. I recommend this for sensitive and acne prone skin.

2014-06-24 02.14.11

This is how the foam looks like, very dense bubbles and fine foam.

UP. S$42.90, now S$30, available here.

2. EcoBeau Natural Skin Toner

Antimicrobial properties (intensified) from the extract of herb-medicine helps to keep off skin parasite and aids skin cell’s restoration. The herbal extract and sweet fragrance of rosemary totally invigorates the skin.

Use: After cleansing, spray onto face (close eyes) and tap gently to ensure best absorption. Apply Ecobeau lotion and cream (or refer to skin care tips for detailed steps customised for different skin types)

Ingredients: Water,Houttuynia cordata Extract, Gingko biloba leaf extract, Sesame seed  extract, Padina pavonica thallus extract, Artemisia vulgaris  extract, Rosemary leaf extract, Aloe Leaf extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Zanthoxylum Piperitum Fruit Extract, Pulsatilla Koreana Extract, Usnea Barbata(Lichen) Extract, Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Rice Bran, Oatmeal, Arbutin, Collagen, Ubiquinone, Sodium Carbonate, Elastin, Adenosin.

Made in Korea.

Likewise with the Foam Cleanser, I enjoyed using this toner because it’s light on the skin and leaves it refreshed, hydrated. This toner does not leave my pores feeling taut. Like the foam cleanser, its effects will not be immediate overnight but after 2-3 weeks for healthier skin.

2014-06-24 02.14.31

This is how the toner with water like qualities look like on the hand.
Similar to the cleanser, this is one of Ecobeau’s best sellers, now available here at UP $32.50, now S$28.

All skin types including atopy skin, acne-prone skin and face with freckles, liver spots, dark spots. Especially recommended for Oily/ Combination skin type.

Unfortunately for me, this essence does not seat well with my skin as it’s “highly enriched extract of herbal medicine, highly nutritive” ingredients was too rich for me. :((( I tried it on 3 consecutive days, first two on my forehead which gave me pimples the next day, after which I wondered if it’s possible that I was having a hormonal induced outbreak (but I rarely have pimples on my forehead), so I tried it again, this time as a spot test below my chin, at my upper neck area and true enough it was too rich and I had a pimple. At this point you must be wondering why I’m so brave to test it directly on my skin, guess I can say that thankfully my skin is pretty good and not that sensitive and plus I have a lot of faith in EcoBeau products and generally have a very favourable view and experience with their other products. 🙂 So I will be passing on this product to my mum and I recommend this product for women and men who have dry-er skin, vs folks who have normal and oily T-zone like me, this would probably be too rich for you.

*Update* After passing the EcoBeau Whitening and Anti Wrinkle Natural Essence to my mum, she’s enjoying this product, she applies it on her face after and enjoys smoothness and shine that the product gives her after using it. 🙂

All skin types except highly sensitive skin due to sun screen added. Specially formulated for oily and combination skin types.

Tip 1: Ecobeau is free from synthetic preservatives and alcohol. Nevertheless, if you have highly sensitive skin condition, do spot test for allergy before actual use. Refer to Skin Care Tips on website.

Tip 2: Ecobeau BB Plus is specially formulated for ladies who prefer natural and sheer coverage (matte finishing). To apply, squeeze out bean-size BB cream and dab onto 5 spots (cheeks, eye area, fore head, chin and nose area) of your face after your usual skin care regime (cleanser -> toner -> moisturizer). Pat and gently spread the BB cream in outward direction to ensure a natural and good spread of the cream. Don’t be worried if your face appears a little fairer than usual. It will settle in after a while. Pat a few times (gently) to warm up the skin and enhance adsorption. For ladies with eye circles, you may wish to increase the coverage at the eye area for flawless finish. Unlike foundation, BB cream does not clog the skin and when used in the long run, will improve skin condition and even out skin tone.

Made in Korea

I have tested and used this BB cream and I like it for its sebum controlling effect and its matt finishing. This is a BB cream that is perfect for days when I know that I’ll be out and about and I don’t want the oily effect on my face. If you’re looking for that currently trending dewy Korean girl look then this is not what you’re looking for. My tip would be to use this for your oily T-zone and then a normal BB cream, such as their Ecobeau BB Cream (New! Smoother & Natural Shade) for the rest of your face.

Audi Star Creation 2014

Hi Lovelies! <3 <3 <3

Yes I know, it’s been a while since I’ve posted (9 days, to be exact) and I am terribly (read: 1 month) behind my events updates! *covers face*

Nonetheless, I am getting down to blogging and posting the wonderful and beautiful photos from Audi Fashion Fest, Blueprint and many exciting fashion events I’ve attended in May! Yay! *throws confetti in the air*

Without further ado, let’s go!

10168128_736658986367821_916578107_n

Into its fifth year, Audi Star Creation is a regional design competition that identifies, nurtures and brings together aspiring young fashion designers from around Asia to battle it out in a runway showdown at the Tent @ Ngee Ann Civic Plaza in Singapore.

564749_736655766368143_1375169990_n

This year’s finalist, who were challenged to design around the theme “The Asian Perspective”, were short listed from 418 submissions from 14 countries including Singapore, Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

ASC2014Winners

The top three winners are Rebecca Corrine Lam from Hong Kong, Zhou Jun from China and Newman Han from South Korea.

Additionally on 13 May at the Audi Red Carpet Night gala dinner, Rebecca Corrine Lam also took home the Audi Young Designer Award, whom judged thought her creation best embodies the Audi design spirit of innovation, technology and progression.

The 12 finalists had to submit six original and commercially viable designs that creatively portrayed the theme. The runway showdown took place in Singapore on 12 May at Tent@Orchard.

The 12 finalists for Audi Star Creation 2014 are:

1. Oei Shoo Jun Angeline, 27, Singapore

2. Keh Min Chloe, 19, Singapore

3. Leong Yaowen, 26, Singapore

4. Newman Han, 29, Republic of Korea

5. Hye Ra Rhee, 32, Republic of Korea

6. Hye Jin Kim, 27, Republic of Korea

7. Zhou Jun, 24, China

8. Rebecca Corine Lam, 25, Hong Kong

9. Tu Nguyen Hoang, 23, Vietnam

10. Kata Oka Hidenobu, 22, Japan

11. Peh Chin Yee, 24, Malaysia

12. Erica Devi Handika, 21, Indonesia

Here are my favourite 6 designers and their designs:

ASC2014Runway-504-Mid ASC2014Runway-513-Mid

Red Construction is the theme for Zhou Jun’s collection. Red corresponds with fire, symbolizes good fortune and joy. The collection is modern, sleek and reminiscent of Ralph Lauren yet undeniably Oriental through the use of crimson red which is representative of the Chinese flag and all things related to Chinese festivities. A graduate of London’s College of the Arts, Zhou Jun is a rising designer to watch.

ASC2014Runway-428-Mid ASC2014Runway-465-Mid

Leong Yaowen’s collection combines the iconography of the East on a Western silhouette. The result is a beautiful marriage with a contemporary vibe. Leong is a graduate of Lasalle College of the Arts and currently a stylist.

ASC2014Runway-310-MidASC2014Runway-326-Mid (1)

Rebecca Corinne Lam’s collection is titled “ZHI” which means paper in Chinese. Lam treats the cloth in her collection as paper and the resulting combination of laser cut and ink calligraphy is both culturally rich and modern.

ASC2014Runway-271-Mid

Hye Jin Kim’s collection title Blooming Your Truth combines Buddhism symbols and Korean traditional knots. Her collection is on trend with its mix of structured and fluid silhouettes, yet the knot details makes it remarkable and memorably hers.

ASC2014Runway-150-Mid

Newman Han’s collection titled The Scientific Expedition is inspired by the how asian cultures have been influenced by the west, on top of their own traditional culture. The collection is Sahara desert ready while looking fashionable.

ASC2014Runway-123-Mid

Peh Chin Yee’s collection is inspired by Singapore’s National flower, Vanda Miss Joaquim. His collection shows a deep understanding of current sport luxe trends and clean silhouettes. His pieces are outstanding and wearable.

#EcoAfterMe

When I was in JC, I was part of the environmental club! As part of the club, we would implement environmentally friendly campaigns, like donating old phones as part of a campaign we held with Nokia (yeah, those were the days!).

Since young, I’ve always believed in being eco-friendly, having taught the 3 simple Rs:
Reduce
Reuse
Recycle

I remember I would cut up all my A4 papers from past years’ worksheets but were still empty on one side to use as rough paper. I stopped doing that since secondary school days, as there weren’t worksheets after JC… But that’s just a little earth-friendly activity that every student can take part in!

Well, if you have never been one to take part in environmentally friendly actions, you can start now by taking part in creating awareness for this campaign titled #EcoAfterMe!

Without further ado, I’ll introduce this site www.ecoafterme.com which allows you to take part and send your friend a fun postcard to spread awareness for environmentally friendly tips. 😉

A quick run down of how the site & postcard works! :

I think this is a really fun site and it mails a postcard to your friend for free, so send one to let your friend know you’re thinking of him/her! 🙂

If that’s not a compelling reason enough, by taking part you can stand to win a staycation!:

The Perfect Alien Man, Kim Soo Hyun as Do Min Joon is coming to Singapore!

Hi guys, so if you don’t already know, Kim Soo Hyun,
who’s the actor for the much famed Love From Another Star Korean Drama
is coming to Singapore this weekend!!!

1397891334170

Well, I missed the deadline for the contest submission to win tickets to see him.
(procrastination woes, I tell you.)

kim_soo_hyun_banner_1
but to join in the fun, I did submit an entry for a contest and if I get lots of votes,
I just might win a Samsung Galaxy Note 3!
Starhub says that the phone’s great for watching dramas on the go and
PLUS I think Samsung sponsored Kim Soo Hyun / Do Min Joon their phones on the show/set…
so having the same phone as my idol, why not? 😀

PLEASE GO LIKE MY ENTRY >>>HERE<<<
I honestly don’t have anything to give you back for this favour (well, maybe the photos below will actually return the favour),
but if you tweet, IG or FB comment me asking me to help you like your contest entry in the future, I WILL DO IT TOO! <3

Honestly though, If I get to go for the fan meet and get my wish fulfilled by Kim Soo Hyun,
I will bring a marker, a clean A4 paper and get him to write:
I LOVE ENABALISTA READERS!!! <3
Yes, complete with a heart, take a selfie together with my phone and upload it up here on my blog, for you guys.

You guys must be reading this and going… “Who cares?”
THAT IS if you didn’t watch the show (what are you, living under a rock?) 😛
and all you wanna read/see are pictures, I KNOW.
HAHAHA. (Cause I’m like that too.)

So I shall let your eyes feast and indulge in the goodness that is Kim Soo Hyun, cause I am sharing like that.
And go and like my contest entry, pretty please! 🙂

OH btw, these pics are DIFFERENT from the ones I posted in my contest entry! DUH, right?
The ones I posted in the contest entry are all about his latest drama Love From Another Star and those fabulous kisses,
while these are his other gems. 😉

Kim-Soo-Hyun

Well, you must watch his show Moon Embracing the Sun. I did a blog post here, go read it if you haven’t!
Cause the show’s amazing. Am personally not a fan of saguek (traditional dramas)
but man, these costumes are the prettiest ones I’ve ever seen,
all the HK/TW/CN/KR dramas shows combined. You can go watch it for yourself.spoiler-kim-soo-hyun-impresses-with-powerful-acting-in-the-moon-that-embraces-the-sun_weete_0

Stop it, you will burn a hole into my face with that stare of yours. >.<ksh_unicaunnisansu_samsonitered3

I honestly have little preference for work bags, but Samsonite RED is suddenly the best work bag ever.3

If Kim Soo Hyun did have a twin (that’s two of him in that pic, seriously), the world would possibly combust due to too much awesomeness.
10247358_684106608297123_8047520199236712448_n

The Face Shop, I am pretty sure your CC Cream, moisturizers, face masks, lotions, what-have-you, are gonna sell like hotcakes.
And I’ll be one of those contributing to that sales. Maybe more if you do stick/print KSH’s pretty face on to the packaging. *swoons*

I never knew a guy could sport pink lips, but I’m sure if his lips were blue, I’d find it hot too. #totallybias #openlybias #kimsoohyunismybias482035

KSH obviously doesn’t show too much skin on screen cause, yunno he’s a humble guy.
You’re welcome and you might want to wipe off that drool before you leave your desk/mobile screen. 😉

If you haven’t, please like my contest entry HERE. <3

I hope you enjoyed this frivolous highly entertaining article!

Kim Soo Hyun, if you’re reading this
(if that is ever, even possible, as he unfortunately doesn’t read English, from what I know)
please know that I love you <3

Thank you for reading! <3

HABA Japanese Non-Additive Skincare Review

Hello~!

Today I’ll be reviewing a set of products from HABA, a Japanese skincare and beauty line. ^^

HABA Skincare Review

HABA the brand, is an acronym which stands for Health Aid Beauty Aid.
HABA believes in beauty from the inside out:
that the right skincare and healthcare will lead to a better life.

HABA also desires for their users to experience a Non-Additive mindset,
which originates from Hokkaido, Japan.

What is unique about HABA is that it boasts to be:
Paraben-Free
Mineral Oil Free
Artificial Colourant Free
Artificial Fragrance Free
Petrochemical Surfactant Free

These are common additives (aka preservatives) in many brands’ products
that can cause skin irritation and allergic reactions.
Instead, HABA uses ingredients such as sasa kurilensis water (bamboo extract) which acts as a preservative, contains antibacterial properties and helps to keep the skin moisturized. (Is that why bamboo juice is so refreshing on a hot summer day?!). HABA only uses ingredients that are safe  and healthy for the skin.

Enabalista HABA Skincare Review

Weeks back, I was invited down for a mini facial and skincare treatment at the HABA Suntec outlet.

The skincare treatment consists of the items which I also brought back for use to review.

The regime is as such:

HABA Micro Force Cleansing Review

1) Cleanse
with HABA’s Micro Force Cleansing
2 in 1 make up remover and cleanser

Usage:
I pump 1-2 times on my cotton pad and wipe away my makeup.
Then I will gently cleanse my face with water.

After using this to remove my make up, it also cleanses my skin, so technically it saves me one step!
That said, however I still use a gentle cleanser in the shower. 😛

I love this water based cleanser as it is very hydrating and moderate in consistency,
much like a water based lotion and cleanses gently as much as  thoroughly.

HABA White Lady Whitening Serum Review

2) Special Care
with HABA’s best selling whitening serum, White Lady

Usage:
I use 1 pump for my entire (small) face.
Pump generously into your palm for how much you require,
and gently pat on your face with your fingers.

This serum is developed from a doctor’s formula,
contains sasa kurilensis water (bamboo extract) and vitamin C,
it is moisturizing, antiseptic and has sterilizing effects.
The serum is light weight and is liquid in consistency.

HABA VC Whitening Healing Toner Review

3) Moisturize with
HABA’s VC lotion, whitening toner

Usage:
Apply VC Lotion by patting lightly on the skin with both hands.
HABA encourages ladies to apply this toner 5 times during each use.
This way, the product can fully penetrate the skin, leaving it refreshed and supple.

I was quite amazed at why I was never previously educated on this method,
it does make a lot of sense since toner bottles always come in such big bottles and take forever to finish.
That said, it’s still important to check and follow the recommended dosage for different brands
as not all toners are formulated in the same way. 🙂

VC lotion is a moisturizing alcohol free toner infused with Vitamin C derivative
which can penetrate the skin better and is non irritating to the skin.
It also contains Ceramide nanosome which
helps to keep moisture levels in your skin for a longer time.

HABA Squalane Beauty Oil Review

4) Protect
with HABA’s Squalane

Usage:
With hands and face still moist from toner lotion,
apply one drop of Squalane on your moist hands,
spread the Squalane on your palms and press them gently on your moist face.

This is also one of HABA’s best selling products.
Extracted from deep sea shark’s liver oil, this is the same oil
that is in our skin that created a protective film to retain hydration.

After using this set for weeks in the morning and evening, I feel that my skin is pampered and properly hydrated. I would definitely recommend this to ladies who are looking for natural skin care products, for hydrated and supple skin, especially in dry weather.

The prices of the featured products are as such:
– Micro Force Cleansing (Makeup Remover) 120ml, S$46
– White Lady (Whitening Serum) 30ml, $78
– VC Lotion 180ml, S$85
– Squalane (Beauty Oil), 15ml $29
I’ve been using these products for about 3 weeks now,
and I approximate that these will last for 3 months.

2014-02-25 00.28.36

5) Moist White Beauty Drink
A fresh, crisp beauty drink that contains Haskap (blueberry honeysuckle),
a fruit that is coveted for its powerful whitening and anti-aging properties.
It also includes collagen, ceramidea and L-Cystine
which helps to enhance skin clarity and firmness.
Each bottle contains 3,000mg of collagen and on 21 calories per bottle. 🙂

The taste is sweet, smooth and I love the blueberry flavour.
I only got to try 1 bottle, so I can’t attest to it’s longer term effect.
Also, as I am also in my early 20s I don’t (yet) have to worry about collagen loss.
Altho’ I’m quite sure when the time comes (another 5-10 years) I’ll start collagen intake regularly
as it’s been said that collagen drink works wonders for your skin! 😉
$49/box (of 10 bottles).

ION Esthe II Review

When I was in their store, I als got to try their Ion My Esthe II,
a home esthetic treatment device that cleanses and treats your skin with the power of ion.
It performs two basic function in two modes:
Ion Cleansing Mode and Ion Care Mode.

I tried their  Ion Care Mode as such:
Apply 8-10 pumps of White Lady Serum on face
Soak a face sheet with VC Lotion
Put the mask on face and slowly roll on Ion My Esthe II on my face
At approximately 8 minutes, a beeping sound will go off to indicate that the treatment is done.
Remove the mask and apply lotion Squalane on your face.
It is recommended to perform Ion Care Mode twice a week
and Ion Cleanse Mode once a week for maximum results.

I am quite amazed at how ION treatment works, in the sense that I am unsure how it works.:P
(Maybe my learned chemical engineering sister can tell me how?)
It’s also hard for me to say how effective it is as I’ve only tried it once.
However I can attest that it’s definitely safe, it uses our/my own body’s ION power to
charge this instrument. Cool huh?!
That’s one of the reason why I love being a blogger!
Getting acquainted and to be able to try new and cool
beauty products and treatments to share on my blog. ^^
Given the chance, I would definitely love to try using it for a longer period. 🙂

The Ion My Esthe II (Facial Instrument) costs $350.

HABA also has make up products, which I had the pleasure to try during my visit.
Their make up products are light and feels very natural
and also creates a very Japanese look, in my opinion.
If you’re a fan of natural/non-additive products, do give their make up range a try. 🙂

~ For my dear readers ~ ^^
Quote my name “Ena” and get 15% discount, valid till April 2014.

I will also be having a HABA GIVEAWAY &
1 lucky winner will win more than $200 worth of HABA products consisting of:

Human Nature Hair Care, Body Care & Make Up Review

Hi guys!

Are you an organic skincare and beauty lover? If so, today’s post will be super relevant for you!

If you’re not, fret not, cause it’s still good to know more about this affordable organic brand, Human Nature! 😉

Human Nature started out in Philippines in 2008 with the vision to be one of Philippines’ leading social enterprises, they have two goals, which is 1) Sustainable Living for the Poor and to be 2) Faithful Stewards of our Only Planet. Find out more about how they achieve these meaningful goals on their site here.

Recently Christine from Human Nature Singapore reached out to me through email to review their products, after a few email exchanges, a box of products was promptly sent over. I took a few weeks to test and review the products, and here it is! 🙂

Human Nature Natural Products Review

If you prefer to watch me sharing on video, hit play! 😉

Human Nature Natural Moisturizing Shampoo Conditioner Review

Human Nature Natural Moisturizing Shampoo (left) and Conditioner (right) in Mandarin Fresh.
Available here and here.
My shampoo was just about to run out and I was wondering what other brand I would try next,
so I was certainly glad to receive these two lovely products. I love the tangy zesty smell of the shampoo and how it cleanses gently and effectively. The conditioner has organic virgin coconut oil which is an age old secret for beautifully shiny, deeply moisturized hair, which I LOVE. After usage, my long hair is smooth and tangle free!

Human Nature 100% Natural Hand and Foot Salve

Human Nature 100% Natural Hand & Foot Salve in Strawberry.
Available here.
The difference between a salve and a lotion is that salve aids healing. Thus this salve soothes and softens dry and cracked skin. Luckily for me, my hands and legs are rather smooth, so I can’t exactly bear testament to its effectiveness for what it’s touted for. But what I can say, is that does leave a residual grease after application which will be less apparent after 10 min. I would recommend this, if you have cracked skin, between your toes or on the ball or heel of your feet. Apply it just before you sleep and I trust that your skin will be better.

Human Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipstick Review

Human Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipsticks; Lucky in Love (left) & First Kiss (right).

Human Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipstick First Kiss ReviewHuman Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipstick First Kiss Review 2

Human Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipstick in First Kiss
Available here.
I definitely love how pigmented the color is. True to its name, it’s hydrating and that must be because of it’s formulation with an extra dose of cocoa butter added to passion fruit seed oil and sunflower oil. The result is a natural and healthy looking lips. I wore it to work and I love how it does not dry up my lips, which some lipstick do. I have also previously used an organic lip balm with cocoa butter, so I know I love the ingredient in this as it’s good for my lips.

Human Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipstick Lucky in Love ReviewHuman Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipstick Lucky in Love Review 2

Human Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipstick in Lucky in Love
Available here.
Lucky in Love is a deep red colour which has a slight gloss effect because of the hydrating effect of the lipstick. It would be ideal for a date night when you are looking to have plump or luscious red lips.

Human Nature Sunflower Cleansing Oil

Human Nature Sunflower Cleansing Oil
Available here.
This is a very effective cleansing oil, which is in my opinion ideal for heavier duty make up removal. If you’re like me and you tend to veer away from oil based cleansers, than this might not be ideal. It would be suitable for days when you’re attending a formal or glam event with full on mascara, eyeliner, foundation in layers… you get my drift. Or perhaps you’re a stage performer and you’re looking for something natural, gentle on your skin while effectively and quickly removing your thick makeup. This, my friends, would be it.;)

If you want to buy their products, be sure to key in ENA15 before check out to enjoy 15% off on ALL products!
This is valid till this Sunday, 9 March, so don’t wait! 😉

That is all for my Human Nature review! 🙂

Thanks for reading, love you.<3

Poulet Affordable French Restaurant @ Vivo City Review

Hi guys!

A while back I was at Poulet restaurant at Vivocity for dinner with my friends.
Check out the photos and my review at the end of it! 😉

Poulet Restaurant Review Enabalista2 Poulet Restaurant Review Enabalista Poulet Restaurant Chicken Review Enabalista

My friends and I shared the Poulet’s popular roasted chicken which is their signature dish.
The chicken was well roasted, has a unique sauce which I can’t put my finger on what special ingredient it includes.
The chicken itself could have scored better, it was neither very juicy or tender, but alright.
I would however, order it again when I’m back.

Poulet Restaurant Granny Apple Review Enabalista

My friend ordered Poulet’s chicken and granny smith sandwich and like it very much.
I am not a fan of sandwiches for dinner (only like them for breakfast)
but I have to say the filling in the sandwich (i tried a little of it) was good.

Poulet Restaurant Mash Potato Review Enabalista

Poulet’s mashed potatoes.Poulet Restaurant Review Mushroom Soup EnabalistaPoulet’s Mushroom soup is very unusual!

It tastes more like smooth butter with a tad of potatoes. HA.

Poulet Restaurant Bread Review Enabalista

The mushroom soup was a smooth blend of wild mushrooms and a little cream.
Definitely for those who like their mushroom soup with a raw-er taste. 😉
The bread comes with the soup isn’t remarkable.

Enabalista | 2013 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 32,000 times in 2013. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 12 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Chat Masala Indian Cuisine Singapore Review

A while back, my dear friend Smita brought me to Chat Masala,
a mid fine dining restaurant that serves up Indian cuisine that has been rated 4.2/5 on their Google+ page.
Pretty good ratings I’d say. Was my experience as good or better?
Read on! 😉

We definitely enjoyed this as well!

We couldn’t finish this because it was quite a big share for two of us and a bit too spicy for me. But delicious. 🙂

Reflections for 2013 | What’s life, if it’s not experienced?

What's life, if it's not experienced?

As the year 2013 draws to a close, like many of my friends who’ve already done so, I’d also like to pen, or type in this case, some of the more striking lessons and thoughts I’ve learnt from the year past.

1. Forgive

A lesson that I’ve been reminded in the final month of the year. I shared with a few friends that I find it hard to forgive a friend/person when the other party doesn’t apologize and/or ask me for forgiveness. It would be too obnoxious to go up to them and go “It’s ok that you didn’t ask for forgiveness, but I forgive you.” As I thought about the friends that I needed to forgive, I realize that as much as I felt that they wronged me or took me for granted, perhaps they didn’t know that I was mad at them. And if that’s true, then perhaps I’ve also unintentionally wronged or took some friends for granted and needed to seek forgiveness from them. That thought’s a humbling one. With this thought, leads to another – that if we care enough for a friend, we won’t let misunderstandings come in our way. We’ll find a time for a HTHT, we’ll learn that forgiveness is just part of imperfect human relationships and we’ll find that our relationship/s emerges stronger through the tough times.

2. Focus on what’ve we’ve got, not what we lack.

On hindsight, I’ve been placed in several situations this year that found me lacking in the resources I need. Resources to organize stuff and such. And through them all, I realize that, by the grace of God, I made it through because I focused on who and what I had on hand, and not on whom and what I lacked. That, is a very important lesson I’m so glad that I’ve experienced without any hiccups. I say this because the reality could have easily seen me in a pity-party crying and wallowing about all the people and things I lack in my life to make it an awesome one. But it would be like missing a yellow colour pencil in a full set of colour pencils and saying that I’ve got no colours in my life. The truth is, life has always been what we make of it. Yes, we can choose to let life make us and define us. BUT, we can also acknowledge everyone that we have, every thing that we’ve been given, put them in a pinata, shake them up, let the confetti burst into the air and celebrate life and all that we’ve got. Because, why not?

3. Love people, not things.

There are many awesome people in my life whom I regularly thank God for, but as I grow older, I’ve come to really appreciate my eldest sister in a new and different light each time I grow to a different stage in life. We tend to share similar items at home like clothes and tech stuff whether we use the same items or we have the similar items. To cut a long story short, I allowed a phone charger cable to take precedence over my sister in my life; and as I reflected about my behaviour I was ashamed that I’ve hurt my sister in doing so. Thankfully I apologized and she also forgave me. It was after this incident that I came to the realization that 1. I must not let things take precedence over people in my life. 2. I must not, in any situation, say words that are unkind that will cause hurt to people I love. Especially if I love them, I must not say words out of spite which I cannot take back.

4. Let the walls down.

I thank God that I’ve had an extremely carefree childhood and teenage years growing up. But it’s almost like when I hit 18 y/o (5 years ago, for those who are clueless, ha) that all the problems started coming in. I know for sure that my walls started building way back in my secondary school days, and then exponentially more through the recent last few years, especially after the rose-tinted effect of my innocent, childhood dayz totally wore off through people I’ve met and through my experiences in life. There’s so so much I can talk about this, how I got in and then finally out of my depression deserves an article on its own, it didn’t happen this year if you’re wondering, it’s mostly stuff that I never talk about here. But what’s important as I reflect on this point, is that I’ve finally learnt that I need to let my walls down. I’ve got to learn to stop hiding behind my safe walls and fortress that I’ve built over the years. It’s not gonna be easy, I’m still afraid to be hurt by people I love, but at least I now know that humans are imperfect; we make mistakes, we hurt and get hurt. No, it’s not ok to be hurt. But just like feet that toughens and grows a thicker skin through walking, weathered feet is better than a spotless one; they’re a sign of a well travelled man. After all, what’s life, if it’s not experienced? What’s a book, if the pages are not filled in with words? I’m not asking for people to come love me and then hurt me, since now I’m wiser. But I’m saying that I’m better prepared to experience the highs of life, along with the downs. 🙂

5. Don’t let disappointments get you down. Fight it with all you’ve got. Know that everyone struggles, but you can emerge victorious.

There’s a certain struggle that I’ve been fighting with for the longest time. The point being, I struggle with a false sense of justified in-action because of certain disappointments, albeit unaddressed and repeated, that I allow to get to me. I was going to say that I don’t know why I let the disappointments get to me, but then I know that’s not true. It got to me simply because I gave up trying to fight it. I’ve got to learn to accept and let go of disappointments, even unaddressed ones, in order to move on in my life. I’ve let them bog me down for far too long. It’s really time that I overcome this seemingly silly struggle and with hope I pray that God will allow me to, in 2014!

6. Choose wisely, that which defines you.

I was going to say, don’t let others or situations define you. And I wanted to say, define yourself. But what I really mean to say is, take control of what defines you and know that it is your conscious decision that allows people and situations to define you. As a Christian, I choose to allow biblical values to define my way of life/lifestyle. I allow the family I am from and the values that I’ve been brought up with, to define me. I choose to define my skills and knowledge based on the schools, courses, teachers and peers I’ve met. I choose to define myself as a Christian, daughter, sister, real estate agent, blogger, confident, empowered young woman and the list goes on. People in life will expect and try to define you. But you don’t necessarily need to allow them to. Not even if they are simply older and wiser. Because only you will know what it is that you want for yourself in life (unless you don’t, and if that’s the case I would say, you need to find and know yourself first). I would suggest taking others’ advise into consideration, as reference; but ultimately your life is yours to live, and live it the way you deem fit. It would be a waste of one’s life trying to fulfill the potential of another’s dream instead of exploring one’s true ambitions.

7. Be the real you, and be ready for Change.

In continuation from the point above, we have the choice and the power to decide for ourselves, who we are. And I hope that you will take the courage to face up to who you really are. Acknowledge your weaknesses, embrace your fears and failures, know that it is all your imperfections that make up the beautiful you. The world will rather have the real you than a second grade copy of another person. In the same way, know that you are the best version of who you are and can be, no one else can come close. We are indeed all different and unique, wonderfully and fearfully created by God. Know that people will judge you for who you are, and they will judge you for who you’re not. No matter what you say, or not say, what you do or not do, people will judge. So, why not speak up, laugh out loud, smile widely, love deeply and simply be unabashedly you. That said, know that Change isn’t an option, but that Change is a part of life. We are all bound to change. We will grow older, yet not all will necessarily grow wiser. Only the brave will acknowledge that Change is necessary for improvement to a person’s spirit and soul. We would be fools to do the same things repeatedly and expect different results. Therefore to experience growth and maturity, we have to Change for the better. Start exercising to get healthy, start thinking positive to be happy. Everyday is another day to be a better version of who we are.

8. Live in the moment.

Don’t wait for the next time to pause and admire the morning glory on the fences, smile at your neighbours, greet the good-looking colleague in another department, introduce yourself to the fellow bus passenger on bus 28 whom you’ve met for the 2nd time in the month or tell your mum/dad/bro/sis that you love them and mean it. Always remember that life is vulnerable as much as it is precious. Death to illnesses and disasters are real. It is an assumption that we will always have tomorrow. Don’t assume. We may only have today. If you’ve never tried, just for one day, live it as though it were your last. What will your last words be to each person that you’ll meet? Will you do anything differently? If so, why wait till you’re dying to live truly? I always find most chinese funerals to be such an ostentatious affair of wasted affections. We can’t be sure that the dead will appreciate the dirges and euglogies offered. Why not pay your respects to people you love and celebrate the goodness of their lives while they’re living? Why not gather the people you love and remind them you love them, often? Live, in the moment.

9. Dream big, set realistic goals and never stop moving.

I’ve always been big with dreams. My ambitions are so big, they go beyond the shores of Singapore. Because, while others may see my dreams and scoff, I’d go, why not? Dreaming is never an issue, but setting, planning and achieving the goals are the real gritty stuff we hate to handle. The secret, I’m still learning, is to never stop moving. If you don’t hit your goals, it’s not a problem, cause if you’re always taking steps towards your dreams, you can be assured that you’re one step closer to your dream.

This list has turned out to be thrice longer than what I’ve expected. Up ahead, I plan to write down a list of things I’d like to openly announce to achieve in my life, on my blog and I hope that that will give me more confidence and spur me to get them done!

What’s your 2013 learnings? Let me know in the comments below!
