My Wisdom Tooth Extraction Experience

HELLO!!!

So anyways, I blogged this before the last h’muse featured post but I shelved it cause I got caught up (went to watch Argo the movie) and conveniently (ahem) forgotten about blogging… until now my conscious tells me I really need/ought to clear all the backlog so I can start the new blogging year on a clean slate! HEHE.

— since the last time which is like almost 2 weeks ago —

It’s been such a long time since I last blogged and I feel a little shy blogging again! (Weird, I know)

Anyways I’ve been wanting to blog about this for like forever but I really didn’t have the time to…

So my wisdom tooth extraction started quite some time back, about June/July when my top right molar started hurting, so I went to a local polyclinic for a check up and the doctor referred me to National Dental Center for a visit scheduled 3 months later in September. So thankfully the pain didn’t persist and the day finally came for me to see the doc in September! I was first scheduled for an X-ray which revealed that I had a hidden wisdom tooth in my upper left gum which was impacted, i.e. it was coming out the wrong way and hitting my tooth instead of growing out normally.

So after the X-ray (which was immediate result, much like a digital photograph), the doctors – both the surgical and the braces doctor- and I discussed that I wanted to remove two of my upper molars and do a incision surgery to remove the hidden wisdom tooth.

Interestingly/weirdly

— continuing now, sorry if this is confusing you guys, lol. —

… Interestingly/weirdly… I totally forgot what I wanted to say which was interesting/weirdly, seriously. T-T#

Anyways I guess this will more or less wrap up my wisdom tooth and molar teeth extraction experience, is that the hidden/impacted tooth that needed to be operated on to be removed, leaves a hole where it STILL HURTS whenever I drink or eat either too hot or too cold drinks or food. ARGH. Seriously! It’d literally leave my gum in pain for like the whole day. And it’s been like coming 3 months since the operation. ): Doctor did say it might take up to 6 months for the gum to fully recover. And I am only scheduled to see the braces doctor (fancy named Orthodontist) in March. Seriously, I think if they don’t call me, I’m super likely to forget, lol. Anyways I can really feel the tightness in my  mouth loosen up after removing the teeth and sans the pain when I eat/drink hot/cold, it FEELS GOOD not to have food stuck in my weirdly protruding teeth, post meal! I really wonder why/how I put up with all the inconveniences over the last almost decade. I should have removed those hideous teeth (to me, since you can’t see it unless I open my mouth at a weird angle for you to see since it’s at the back of my mouth) long ago.

It cost about $700 for the operation for the removal of the teeth. I went through full body anesthesia and I’m glad I did cause I have low tolerance for pain and can’t imagine if I did went through the surgery awake. o.O Its cheaper compared to outside private clinics cause I did it at NDC, as mentioned above.

Shall have no more angst about my teeth from hence forth but show lots of love to my teeth and think wonderful thoughts towards my teeth so I shall have very straight teeth for both my upper and lower gums! Oh this is really random, but whenever my teeth hurts, I weirdly think of having a boyfriend that’s a dentist, perhaps foolishly thinking if my boyfriend’s a dentist he can help relieve my gum ache, but then I actually just need painkillers (but the thing about them is that I don’t like to take them and I rather suffer the pain as much as I can or do whatever else it takes to lessen the pain). Anyways, enough random stream of consciousness posting! Lol. Photo time!

Ena Cool TeethCheck out my teeth. They are actually really milky cream (think baby milk powder) coloured and probably also coffee coloured from all the years of coffee drinking, lol. But for your eyes and mine, they are prettified in this pink purple hue. I kept them btw, I plan to encase them in silver and have them made into pendants so I can wear them around my neck. Not morbidly, but because I love how they look like!

2012-09-28 17.09.26

Yes this is how badly my gums swelled post surgery, also while biting the gauze. I bit them for about 5-6 hours post surgery until the wound stopped bleeding. And yes, thank you for being kind and not judging my swollen face, rofl.

2012-09-23 13.22.25

I shall post photos PRE surgery, in case you’ve forgotten how I really look like, LOL. Photo filtered with POCO app and also prettified in Rakuga-cute app. 🙂

2012-09-21 14.28.31This photo was taken at 313 Somerset mall toilet, it has this golden glow to it, in case you’re wondering where I took it and want to replicate the golden glow effect, LOL. Anyway these photos are back when my hair was still at its record length (I don’t think I’ve ever had my hair that long in my 22 years of living) and with the wild red turned copper dip dye. Kinda miss my long hair, and kinda wonder how I kept it so long cause now my past – shoulder length hair is already mighty irritating me. o.O

So that’s all folks! OH I really wanted to post the h’muse giveaway so you guys can start taking part until Christmas day BUT Punchtab refuses to send me my password (I forgot my password T-T) so I have to delay it till I get my password! Sorry guys!

Ok that’s all, for realz.

Bye!

<3 <3 <3,
Ena

P.S. In case you wonder about what’s the whole point of this post, as I also wonder, it’s really just I sharing my experience cause to me, it’s really pretty epic. And when I was going through it I was curious to know all of my friends/peers experiences, those who went through it so I can know about it and be more prepared for it. Lol. For those who’s been through it, hope it was enjoyable reading mine, and those who haven/t, you can hope your experience won’t be as painful as mine! 🙂

Hmuse Enabalista 2

Hello my dear readers!

It’s been a long time since I’ve last blogged, do you miss me ? ^^

I know it’s no excuse… but yours truly have indeed been busy with school assessments followed by my church youth camp. God’s been very gracious to my church youth group and I, we’re recharged for another great year with Him! (:

This is really a long overdue post, for H’muse the Pop Up store at Parco. The nice folks there have generously sponsored 3 vouchers for my readers. So watch out for the next post on how to take part! The vouchers giveaway will take place through the Christmas season and the winners will be revealed on Christmas day, so it’s like 1 more Christmas present for you, the potential winner! (:

Without any further ado, let me show you the photos I took when I went down to visit the store!

Hmuse Pop Up Store EnabalistaH’muse is located at Parco level 1. It occupies a small yet cosy corner. The colourful and quirky merchandise also stands out against the intentionally bare furnishing.

Hmuse Brands EnabalistaThe list of brands featured in store, with a majority of Indonesian brands.

Hmuse Shoes EnabalistaBeautiful handmade leather shoes from Indonesia. Chin, the PR and marketing guy at H’muse says that more stocks are coming in (which should be in store by the time you are reading this).

Hmuse Shoes 2 EnabalistaThese shoes are good-looking and double up for work and play. Guys, if you’re looking for a nice pair of shoes for Christmas and into the new year, go on down to H’muse!

HMuse Ask Dress Enabalista

I picked out a few items, the ones I like to feature in this post…. and I’m telling you, I’m in love with this Indonesian brand, Ask. It’s so spot on with the trends and it doesn’t harm that it has a Korean vibe and sense of aesthetics that I see in the Korean dramas I am watching currently… Just saying. >.<  So this lovely Autumn/Winter scenery printed dress is apt for the current season and selling at SGD $96.

Hmuse Ask & Coat EnabalistaThis lovely grey faux fur coat also from Ask is selling at $119. Have I told you I secretly (ok fine, not so secretly) LOVE fur? And it’s only arguably in this time of the year in Winter where it’s arguably colder that I can wear fur, fur-lined and winter related thingamajings out in Singapore. Like my fur lined boots from Korea, furry dress, knitted beanie and scarves. But even then, when I wear them out I feel like I’m crazy. T-T I wish I could travel to somewhere cold this winter! Even if it’s 3-4 days it’d still make me very happy, and so I can wear layered attired and furry stuff, HEHE. (:

Hmuse Ask Dress 2 EnabalistaThis printed and Batik inspired dress is selling at $98. It also comes in other colours like green hues. I featured this cause it’s in pink/purple hues. Hee.

Hmuse Ask Pullover EnabalistaThis knitted sweater can double up as both a festive item and tribal too! Also by Ask, priced at $92.

Hmuse Lou Top 1 EnabalistaThis quirky yet laid back striped top by Louskii is priced at $37.

Hmuse Lou Top 2 EnabalistaAlso by Loushkii, this top is going at $55.

Hmuse ColorRiot Shirt EnabalistaThis beautiful floral top is bound to garner attention to the wearer, by ColorRiot, selling at $59.

Hmuse ColorRiot Floral Set EnabalistaIn a similar print, the shorts also by ColorRiot is selling at $59.

Hmuse Ensemble Black Dress EnabalistaBy Ensemble, this sheer dress is unique with its velvet collar and tassel detailing.

Hmuse Ensemble Dress Collar Details EnabalistaUp close photo of the collar, tassels and sheer fabric.

Hmuse Ensemble Golden Hands Black Top Details Enabalista

Close up photo of the delicately poised Golden Hands.

Hmuse Ensemble Golden Hands White Top DetailsEnsemble Golden Hands Shirt also comes in white. The shirts are selling at $49.

Hmuse Jan Sober Shirt Enabalista

Hmuse Jan Sober Logo EnabalistaNext up we have a brand that specializes in Menwear, Jan/Sober (Jan pronounced in a french way as Yen). The fabric is great and the designs have unique and quirky details (check out the cute collar) which make it really worth the price. This top is selling at $85.

Hmuse Jan Sober Short Sleeve Shirt EnabalistaAnother Menswear brand, Soep Shop, this cute top is selling at $54.90. I particularly like how the collar and shoulders fabric (I forgot what this part of the shirt is called, lol) is different from the rest of the shirt.

Hmuse Men Shirt EnabalistaThis black t-shirt by Kazign has a different coloured pocket and is selling at $49.

Hmuse Bags EnabalistaNow moving on to the vibrant center counter of bags and accessories.

Hmuse Clementine Yellow Clutch EnabalistaIndonesian bags brand Clementine, faux leather clutch going at an affordable price of $49. It’s so lovely.

Hmuse Clementine EnabalistaThe same clutch also comes in blue.

Hmuse Clementine Back EnabalistaClementine has expanded beyond Indonesia, to America, Malaysia and now Singapore.

Hmuse Pink Black Clutch EnabalistaClementine clutch in my favorite combi (yes it still is, lol) Pink & Black, priced at $70.

Hmuse Red and Blue Clutch EnabalistaClementine Envelope clutches in Red and Blue, priced at $60 each.

Enabalista Clementine Clutch EnabalistaClementine velvet and leather combi clutches in Red, Black and Tan. Each priced at $78.

Hmuse 72Smalldive Clutches EnabalistaEuropean bohemian label 72Smalldive Bag to Differ in various colours, $220 each.

Hmuse Acc EnabalistaAustralian brand Vanessa Ward, an architect by profession turned accessories designer. With a nautical collection in H’muse. These necklaces are going for $95 each.

Hmuse Necklace EnabalistaThis unusual ball necklace was the first item to be sold when H’muse opened, bought by an SPH editor! Haha. Also by Vanessa Ward, selling at $130.

Hmuse Daniel Wellington Watches EnabalistaLast but not the least in this featured post, Daniel Wellington bracelets and watches.

Hmuse DW Watch Enabalista

Do visit H’muse’s Pop Up store which opens till January to check out these lovely brands and items!

Thank you all specially for your kind comments and retweets for this giveaway! I am very touched by your support. :’)

I am really quite behind, more like super behind my blogging because I’ve been overwhelmed with a powerful combination of school, ECA (stands for extra curriculumm activities, for the non-Singapore educated/un-initiated) such as JRunway participation, Sofie’s wedding and church commitments the past 1 month…

Follow me on my Twitter & Instagram, both @ena_teo for more daily updates! I tweet a lot of random stuff mostly revolving around Fashion, entertainment, social/Singaporean news and a lot of personal musings and angsty tweets you won’t find on my blog. (But you can read on the side bar, lah) I instagram mostly food, fashion, myself and interesting/random stuff around my life. I know it’s not much of a marketing pitch, but I’m sure you’ll be amused by what I share, cause I get amused by myself! HAHA, #notshyatall. So follow lah ah, and PLUS I am almost always looking for more tweet buddies on Twitter so join in the conversations/tweet-versations if you haven’t! 😀

xoxo you know i love you,
Ena <3

Honestly can’t wait for school to be out, then I will be giving my first church sermon this Sat, then I can by blog-happy and HOLIDAY LOR (machiam like ORD-LOH, it’s supposed to have the feel/vibe, #incaseyoudidn’tgetit.) – I don’t know why this needs to be italicized. Really, I don’t.

My Flawless with Estee Lauder Workshop Experience

Hello beautiful people!

How are you doing today? I do hope October’s been treating you well? October’s been a whizz for me, I’ve been attending talks – perhaps a little too much that even my friends are surprised at all the talk shots I take on my Instagram, haha!

Here’s an update on the event I shared previously, not just a talk mind you, it’s better! It’s a workshop by Estee Lauder where my friend, Ming Min and I put to action what we learn in class, on the spot by creating our own Flawless looks with Estee Lauder’s new and broader range of Double Wear foundation! 😉

Without further ado, I’ll let the photos do most of the talking~

Here our host is sharing with us the benefits of Estee Lauder skincare and makeup products before going into the steps of creating a Flawless look.

Check out the slides shown at the workshop here 😉 – Flawless with Estee Lauder Workshop Slides

Various make up brushes available for each individual participant at the workshop, here’s my set!

Adeline, the make up artist/instructor for my table sharing with us the 2 types of primer Estee Lauder provides. A matt one and another is illuminating one. I used the matt one, Ming used the illuminating one, so later you can see the difference in the photos we took. We were also taught we can combine both in our make up, use the matt one for our T-zones and illuminating one for the rest. 😉Here Adeline is sharing on eyeshadow palette. There was one different coloured palette for each of us, but I shared the same one with the lady next to me cause I liked her palette. 🙂

This my dears, is the really pretty eyeshadow palette I used that day. It’s Enchanted Berries Eyeshadow Palette! 😉

The beautiful array of Estee Lauder crystal lipsticks, eye shadow palettes, Double Wear and Double Wear Light foundations! 🙂

The stars of the workshop, the Double Wear Foundations. For the month of October, Estee Lauder supports the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign through the sales of the special edition Perfectionist Serum with the Pink Ribbon packaging.

The 2012 Campaign theme, “Courage. Believe in a world without breast cancer. Know we’re here until its true.”highlights the Company’s 20 year commitment to defeating breast cancer through education and medical research. This milestone year is dedicated to the tremendous courage of Evelyn Lauder and her unwavering commitment to eradicate breast cancer. – Yahoo News

For more information on Estee Lauder’s charitable work on raising Breast Cancer Awareness and supporting Breast Cancer research check out the article on Yahoo News. Also follow their news and updates on their Facebook page here.

Here’s my before and after looks from the workshop! My skin is visibly more even, eyebags less visible and features are more defined. ^^ I am wearing the Double Wear Light in the picture because I don’t like to have foundation that is too thick. And also thanks to Estee Lauder’s skincare products that I’ve been using, I don’t need the Double Wear with stronger coverage for my skin. ^^My lovely friend Ming min, in her before and after looks from the workshop. She remarks that the difference isn’t obvious in the photo, which is a good thing as it shows she has good skin and features that doesn’t change much with make up right? (x But in real life, u can see that her skin is more polished and illuminates with a glow from the illuminating primer! We would both recommend the illuminating primer for girls who want a natural glow in their make up. 😉

Us besties together since 2004/5 ! >.<

Funny faces never go out of style. 😉

Last but not the least, the door gift from the workshop! Ming and I attended as guests, so we didn’t claim a $100 (price of the workshop ticket) worth of Estee Lauder product but we did go back very blessed with 3 Estee Lauder products, 2 of which are their top sellers!

Check out these beauties: 1. Advance Night Repair Eye Serum 2. Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara and 3. Advance Night Repair 4. Pretty blue pouch

I know, so awesome right? I’ve been wanting an ANR travel vial just like this one so that I can bring it with me when I travel, but I decided, especially after using the ANR for a month and finding it so awesome, that I will GIFT this whole set in my blog – Enabalista’s 2nd Birthday Giveaway instead. So that one of my followers can share in my joy too! Watch out for my next post which will contain details of the Giveaway! 😉

Our sexy night didn’t end there… we went for a very romantic stroll and seating by the harbour… x) Anyway, just enjoy these photos as I enjoyed the views that night! 😉

This looks like a Salmon sushi, doesn’t it? x)
That’s all for now folks!

Zadig & Voltaire Fall Winter Launch @ Marina Bay Sands

Hi lovelies!

I hope October’s going well for you? In a blink of an eye, October is almost half way through and I have yet to post my September Photo Round Up, hehe!

So pictures from Zadig & Voltaire Fall WInter 2012 Launch! (:

Prior to the models entrance, Bobbi Brown treated the audience to their Fall Winter colour palettes and a make up demonstration.

Fall Colours fitting comfortably with Zadig’s effortless cool styles on the table.

Shimmery sequined jacket for those looking to shine on the dance floor, quite literally. >u<

A very pretty model, who overheard V saying quite loudly how pretty she was.

And she was very pleased with V’s compliment and thus was smiling quite radiantly at us while we snapped away! <;

V’s sticker of the day. #walkonthewildside Each guest had a sticker for the night. I didn’t take photo of mine, it was a Z&V sign, for the media because I attended as a blogger. <:

I lurveee this leopard print blazer. So pretty. Would be great to pair it with a white dress with a layered, asymmetrical tutu skirt. The uber handsome model makes his entrance.

Zadig & Voltaire is a french label, laidback with a rock attitude govern the label’s designs. Working with mostly solid colours, comfortable textures and the occasional skull and paisley prints. I love the brand’s aesthetics very much.

Pretty model reappears with a studded shoulder blazer.

Picture with her shoes in it. Matching the blazer!

Chiseled face makes his appearance again.
It was the first time that I got chat up at an event, usually I’m the one breaking the ice, but this model made the european lady next to me exclaimed just how handsome he is and asked if I agreed with her. I did, and I told her to go up to him and kiss him since he is only an arm’s length away. She said she would, if her husband who was next to her allowed. He didn’t, laughing while saying and the lady went on to say maybe the model is more suitable for her daughter. Lol!
European model face quite frankly looks like a work of art, like a statue.
Beware if you are jaws wide open, lest your drool spills on the floor. 😛

Ah… She makes an appearance in a military influenced get up. I am loving the military style this season.

Singapore’s Latest Art Haunt – Gillman Barracks Opening Night

Hi lovelies!

A few weeks back, Gillman Barracks had its opening night and as part of the Transmission Lab 2012 apprenticeship programme, we were invited down for the event.

My friend and fellow Trans Lab apprentice, Wanqi designed the typography for Gillman Barrack’s identity! (: We also attended the event together because we were the only ones who could make it. The rest either had stuff on or had to OT. ):

For the unknowing, here’s information about Gillman Barracks from their website so you have a better idea of what it’s all about:

Gillman Barracks (GB) is Asia’s up-and-coming destination for contemporary art. It will be distinguished as a vibrant centre in Asia for the creation, exhibition and discussion of contemporary art.

Named after British general Sir Webb Gillman, GB is set amid lush greenery and was once a stronghold to the First Battalion of the Middlesex Regiment. The conserved colonial barracks now houses galleries and creative businesses, as well as the Centre for Contemporary Art (CCA) that will open in 2013.

The international galleries features diverse and ever-changing contemporary art exhibitions, while the CCA will bolster the region’s visual arts landscape through its international artist residency, research and exhibition programmes. By fostering cultural exchange and creation, showcasing the best and most innovative art of our times, as well as generate discourse and research, the CCA will establish Singapore as an important centre for contemporary art in Asia.

And from Artinfo (which is probably from GB’s press release):

Part of the vision to make Singapore a “global city,” the new art enclave is a 15-minute drive from the central business district and is housed in refurbished buildings nestled amid lush greenery that were formerly military barracks and date from the 1930s. The entire development, which cost a little under S$10 million, will ultimately provide about 4,200 sqm for art galleries when completed, along with another 4,800 sqm of space dedicated to arts-related activities, such as artist studios, an art research center and food and beverage outlets. It officially opens with the first 13 galleries pulling out all the stops with their opening shows. Two more galleries will open next year.

Frankly, GB is a huge undertaking that was planned for years but executed in months. We are all pretty amazed and awed by what we saw that night and I truly hope that this major undertaking will continue to take flight in the hands of CCA when it opens in 2013.

Side tracking a little, I must confess that I have not assumed a blogger personality that I would prepare pro/semi-pro camera (I do have a handheld canon ixus my sister gifted me) for outdoor events. Which explains poor quality and or lack of photos. I try to, and sometimes I bring the camera out but I usually just end up snapping on the go with my trusty iPhone. It’s so much more convenient plus I can just Instagram / tweet / facebook when I want to! Many friends have commented that my iPhone has better camera quality, which I don’t deny. I am blessed. ^^

You know what? The next best invention would be a handy, lightweight camera with awesome visuals, built in filter, cute deco AND Instagram, Twitter, Facebook publishing function. Who wants to build and create this camera with me?! I won’t ask for much, just 1 camera for my own blog, 9 more for giveaways on this blog and perhaps a negotiable % life-long royalty for consultancy fees. 😉

OK SO. Enough of side-tracking. Back to topic, I must admit I didn’t go through all 13 galleries at the Gillman Barracks opening, and so that means that I should go back another time to check out the ones I’ve missed.

Nonetheless, I think I have visited about half of them, and here are some of my favourite galleries and artworks!

PARTNERS & MUCCIACCIA

Partners & Mucciaccia opens in Singapore with a bang, to an exhibition titled “From Picasso to the New Roman School”. This exhibition winds along the masterpieces of some of the greatest contemporary artists of the XX (read: 20th) Century – featuring the works of artists including Picasso, Lucio Fontana, Cristiano Pintaldi and many more acclaimed Italian artists (feel free to google them yourself ^^).

I am in love with the gallery. It’s filled with all these fascinating, contemporary artworks. I love contemporary fashion, art, news, basically most contemporary stuff. But what’s really cool about this gallery is that it has all these artworks dating decades back in the 60s but they are still avant garde and contemporary. Specifically I refer to the slashed canvases by Lucio Fontana.

This is NOT the one at the gallery. But it’s very similar. 4 strokes but in slightly different places. The one we saw at the gallery is titled

Lucio Fontana
Spatial Concept, Waiting
1968
Water based paint on canvas
81×65 cm

I mean check that out! It’s created in the late 60’s some almost 50 years ago and it still conveys the same angst humans experience today. Angst whether historical or contemporary is still angst. Contemporary art created decades ago people!

There’s an attempt of explanation in the guide I picked up at the gallery, let’s see if it makes any sense:

Another limit surpassed by the informal painting is the idea of space in painting. Lucio Fontana explored the possibility of giving the third dimension by cutting the surfaces of his works. The space is “here”, where we are, and it is “there”; the work becomes a stargate, an open passage towards the beauty conceived as waiting for the unknown. The achievements of this pioneer of contemporary art are represented by this works Spatial Concept, Waiting (1960s).

What do you think? Obviously after reading the above explanation, mine’s completely refuted. But it still makes sense isnt’ it? HAHA. Which explanation do you prefer?

Cristiano Pintaldi
Blond Girl
2012

Who shapes our perception of reality and how? Pintaldi’s work questions the misleading “truth” conveyed by the systems of power through mass media. The artist’s paintings reproduce the same tripartite decomposition of TV and computer monitor. When viewed up close, it’s made up of small pellets / blocks of overlapping colours that come together when viewed from afar, simply fascinating.

Check out a teaser video I found on youtube, for his exhibition presented at Venice Biennale last year 2011. (Side track, VENICE BIENNALE!!! It’s like the mecca of all contemporary artists. I often daydream, as in seriously I do, of going back for Venice Biennale. Was there on an school art trip while I was studying art in SAJC  in 2007 and it was A-MA-ZING. I hope and plan to make it for 2013. Oh yes I must.)

Pablo Picasso
The Artist and his Model
1964
Oil on Canvas
97x130cm

Unfortunately, I cannot find the photo online. It’s not a spectacular piece coming from Picasso, as in I’m guessing it’s probably one of the less known / work in progress piece. But it’s a masterpiece nonetheless. Like how many people on earth can attest that they’ve seen a Picasso masterpiece in real life?

If you are wondering why Pablo Picasso is so famous, it’s because he has been widely known for co-founding the Cubist movement with  Georges Braque. He is one (out of a grand total of 53) of the major world artists which I studied for A levels. Quite unfortunately I have returned my knowledge to the books and can’t recall what I’ve read/memorized of him. Nonetheless, blogging about this exhibition is a great opportunity to refresh my memory of this great artist and his work. Arguably, Picasso’s most famous work is Guernica – his depiction of the German bombing of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War. It’s choke-ful of symbolisms which we as art students had to read, understand, analyze and critique. It’s a powerful painting and statement for speaking against the cruelty of war and bombings. That, my friends, is perhaps the reason why Picasso is so famous because he was an intellectual that used his fame for a greater cause.

I am seriously side tracking a lot in this post, but I must say, war and bombings are so lame and retarded! At the heart of it all are selfish motivations (of egotistical leaders) that ruins lives. People, please never ever support war and bombings okay?!

MIZUMA GALLERY

CROSSING GAZES

Now – 18 Nov

Solo exhibition of the newest pieces in Korean artist Hyung Koo Kang’s series of overwhelmingly bigger-than-life portraits.

Hyung Koo Kang’s works are AMAZING, especially those that were created on metal. That’s right, you didn’t read wrong, METAL. He actually carved those fine hair lines you see on the above Monroe image out and mind you, these works are some 4m high! @-@ This is another case of you simply have to see it to believe and be astounded by. Seeing it on the photo, doesn’t do his work justice as all, it doesn’t look half as amazing as it is in real life. I just wish he had stronger subjects to work with than just merely famous people.

MICHAEL JANSSEN GALLERY

Peter Zimmerman

Epoxy Resin on canvas. Very pretty, decorative paintings. There was a book on display and his works have also been applied on the floor. Can totally imagine his work in hotel lobbies and applied to interior design.

BLENDED BY DESIRE & STEREOMONGREL

15 Sep – 29 Sep

Blended by Desire

Four young Indonesian artists — Mushowir Bing, Sanchia Hamidjaja, Ricky “babay” Janitra and POPO — from Jakarta will present video works, installations and wall paintings that reflect how contemporary urban society has been increasingly influenced by a pop culture globalized by technology and mass media. The artists, whose practices blend street art, cartoon and illustration, use the exhibition to articulate themselves amid the hustle and bustle of metropolitan life.

Their works are super cute lah!So relevant. “I hate tagging!”“I’m following you” is both a great news and kinda creepy. LOL.
Finally, I will end off this post with Singaporean artist Donna Ong, who used a yet unallocated gallery space in one of the old military barracks to create “And we dreamt we were birds.”
That’s all for now! Let me know which work is your favourite and why! Or you could also share about your favourite artist and artwork. 🙂

Trend Highlights | Polished Attraction Featuring Victoria Beckham

Hi lovelies!

It’s time for some Fall Fashion updates! Today I’ll be finishing up with the 2nd part of Fall Winter Trend Highlights. If you haven’t check out the first part here. Titled Polished Attraction, this trend highlight features key looks from the ever chic Victoria Beckham.

Polished Attraction is sub-divided to three categories, Sharply Tailored, Modern Military and Belt Up.

Sharply Tailored – Embracing the cultivated, smart and stylish individual with versatility. Key labels featuring this look are Miu Miu, YSL and Balmain.

Modern Military – Designers brought a fresh appeal to traditional military garb with luxe fabrics and fitted silhouettes. Together with Victoria Beckham, these labels rule the runway this season: Salvatore Ferragamo, Max Mara, Burberry Prorsum & Kenzo.

Belt Up – For this season, accentuating the waist with a thin leather belt adds a touch of class, glamour and sophistication.

If you noticed the H&M at the top left corner of the moodboard, (SHARP EYES THERE fella!), it’s because my friends and I worked on Fall Winter trends back in Feb/March this year for a school project, proposing Fall Winter 2012 trends for a imaginary H&M store in Singapore. Teehee.

Victoria Beckham Fall Winter 2012 Runway Looks

These are soooo chic. It’s like Victoria Beckham decided to create uniforms for the Parisian girls.

The models exude effortless chic in these military style garb. *Swoons*If you haven’t seen Victoria Beckham’s Fall Winter 2012 looks but you’re wondering why it looks so familiar? It’s because you’ve seen a similar look on Kate Moss for Mango! I didn’t realize the similarity till I was blogging this! NO WONDER I liked the look on Kate Moss so much when I first saw it. (T-T)# *faints*

That’s all for now, leave me a comment telling me how much you love reading my blog, y’all! 😛

Cause Ena Loves Ya So~! *(^-^)*

Olivia Bee’s Fairytale Film [Il Est Pour Nous] Featuring Hermès

Hey’all lovelies!

Today I’d like to share with you the works of Olivia Bee, particularly images and a film that was commissioned by Hermès Paris.

Olivia Bee is a talented, young (only 18!) and beautiful american photographer based in Oregon. So the story goes that Hermès Paris saw her works, liked it and decided to send her 30 scarves (which she had to return after), an idea of a story about a Prince and Princess and voila~ These are the resulting creations of Olivia Bee.

Olivia Bee’s style is emotive, lush, ethereal, child-like and fairytale-ish. It’s fascinating that Hermès Paris has given her so much artistic license to create the elfs hat and ribbon hat out of Hermès scarves.

If you liked the images, you’ll love the film – check it out here:

It’s a film full of WIN isn’t it? From retro cars and attires, bejeweled shoes, refreshing pool swims, COLOURED BUNNIES (omg), elaborate sofa and cupcake set in the forest to full on kisses, Olivia Bee’s fairytale film takes the cake in her genre.

I am inspired by Olivia Bee. She’s a living example of a talented lady, pursuing her passion thus so inspiring that a renown brand like Hermès would extend a collaboration with her. Amazing! You go girl!

Have you come across anyone, works, images or films recently that you find very inspiring? If so, leave me your reply in the comment box below!

Trend Highlights | Luxurious Glamour Fall Winter 2012 Featuring Dolce & Gabbana

Hi lovelies!

Today I’ll be sharing the first of two major Fall Winter 2012 Trend Highlights on my blog. The first of which is Luxurious Glamour, mainly featuring runway looks from Dolce & Gabbana, one of the most outstanding label for this Fall Winter season!

Luxurious Glamour

Luxurious Glamour features two sub categories, Shakespeare in Love & Luxe Velvet.

Shakespeare in Love – From designs that mimic tapestries to ornate baroque flourishes, the fall runways exude a Renaissance spirit. Key labels leading the way are Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, Balmain & Marchesa.

Luxe Velvet – The appearance of a luxurious textile, one would gush in pleasure at the velvet of her touch. Key labels featuring velvets are Gucci, Lanvin, Kenzo & Emporio Armani.

Dolce & Gabbanna Fall Winter 2012 Key Runway Looks

Every little detail comes together and creates a very precious and princess-y persona for the wearer/models.

The corset, as with the entire collection is so beautifully and intricately embroidered.

The gradual descent from light and airy colours to dark and opulent colours.
I AM IN LOVE.
I wish I could wear the entire collection for my whole Fall Winter 2012, seriously.

Nothing escapes the Dolce & Gabbana duo. These devils surely took note of every detail. Decorated hairband, earrings and necklace over laced top over laced brassiere. Perfection. *Dies*

Watch the royal Dolce & Gabbana army strut out in glamourous style.Remember. To. Breathe.

So, tell me, are you just as in love with Dolce & Gabbana’s Fall Winter Collection as I am? Or has another label captured your heart? Leave your reply in the comment box!

Her World Day Out with YL

Hi guys!

Hope ya’ll are having a great mid-week, yes? 😉

A few weeks ago, friend YL and I attended Her World’s Day Out event at Tangs Vivo. So we took some photos while we travelled to the event. Here’s one photo post-processed in Mei Ren Xiang Ji Poco Camera (read about my review/tutorial here.) and FotoRus frame! ^^

This is the crazy queue for complimentary (read free) manicure. LOL.

So the story goes that while we were queuing up for the free manicure, I uploaded the photo of YL and I above to Instagram and tagged #igsg. Frankly, at that point of time, I thought #igsg was a form of identifying photos from Singapore (that’s why I tagged it). I didn’t realize that it was actually an uber popular, “get popular” instagram account. AND SO the photo was featured on Igsg‘s account as well as sweetyoungthing‘s (cheesy I know) account!

@igsg had some 280,000 followers then (now it’s 301,000) on Instagram and after a few hours, the photo received almost 1000 likes! :O So just imagine YL and I spazzing when we realize we had our “15 minutes” of fame, hohoho! Basically @igsg reposts popular photos, about 1 every hour and only leaves 6 photos on its account at any one time.

The same photo reposted on to @sweetyoungthing‘s instagram account.

I’ll be meeting up with @igsg’s account owner, Ken for coffee this week and we might possibly work out partnership opportunities. How exciting! I’ll update you guys if and when we’ve worked out the details! (:

Photo of my nails, post manicure! ^^

Like how my photo looks like? I decorated the photo using Snapeee, the fairly new japanese decoration and sharing app, which I reviewed in the previous post here, check it out if you haven’t.

That’s all for now!

Shana Bugis+ Opening & Fashion Design Contest!

Hi lovelies! I’ve got exciting news to share! Shana, one of the fastest growing fashion concept in Spain with 200 stores opening every year (WOW!) and a grand international expansion plan, has now come upon our Singaporean shores! 😀 They are not only in Bugis+ shopping mall but also at JCube shopping mall. These are Shana’s store locations:

Shana Bugis + 201 Victoria Street #02-18 Bugis +

Shana JCube #01-24/25 Jcube, Singapore 60973

And… here are some photos from the event! Images are taken from Shana’s Facebook page. 🙂

Many eager shoppers in between the activities-filled opening event!

There was this whole table of wonderful and sweet treats. Mmm…

Shana’s white on pink polka dot wrappings are so pretty and apt for candy packages! They should consider opening a candy bar in their store! My friends and I loved the sour tapes… Makes me salivate just thinking about it… 😛 And the Pokka Sparkin’ Passionfruit flavour is seriously good. Go try it if you haven’t!

Uber energetic dancers on the floor! Think all the sugars from the treats table helped!

I was very fortunate to have won a 5 minute dress up contest for a “Party Look”. Thanks to my friend Clarabell for convincing me to take part in the contest! Hehe.

Here with friendly Siti, Shana’s store assistant who helped me with the look!

Thanks to Shana Singapore, I won a $150 voucher which I redeemed on the day itself too. (:

Pretty bags I brought home that day. ^^The 8 pieces of clothing I chose.

I am loving the tweed cardigan and the green cargo-style jacket!

Shana is a very affordable fashion label. Most of their basic tops are selling from $13.90 -$20 plus and there was even a promotion for selected tops at 2 for $13.90. After wearing their tops for a few times, I really like the material for the loose pink top as it’s lightweight, comfortable and definitely worth every buck. Their bandage skirts (the red one I wore in the photo above) are only $10.90 , and it’s made of comfy stretchy material.

Accessories! I love the gold and black combination. I exceeded the $150 voucher so I topped up about $20 plus for the accessories. 😀

Goodie bags upon entry and another one after winning the contest.

Want to win some prizes too? If you are based in Singapore, take part in Shana’s Fashion Design contest and you stand a chance to win $1000 if you are the 1st prize winner! Check out the details here:

Check out their Facebook page here for more details under their tab “Events”! “Like” them to receive their promotion updates too! (:

That’s all for now! Have an exciting season ya? (:

L.o.L <3, Ena

Note: This is not a sponsored review. I did win $150 voucher, as I mentioned but I didn’t have to blog about it. I blogged about it because I wanted to. (:

Snapeee App Review

Hi lovelies!

It’s been some time since I last reviewed an app huh! Today I’m gonna review one of my recent favourite camera, photo decorating and sharing app, Snapeee!

Snapeee

You can download the app on this site for free – http://snape.ee/

It basically works rather similarly to Instagram with following and recommendation functions except it’s Japanese with lots of cute-sy stickers, stamps, filters and frames to decorate your photos with! I love it! My account name on Snapeee is @ena_teo, check out my account if you have Snapeee or decide to download it after reading my review! (:

Some of the photos I’ve posted on my Snapeee account:

A photo of my manicured nails I decorated and posted on Snapeee! Note the beautiful rose glitter borders, sweet graphic stamps and filter.

Another photo I edited and posted on Snapeee! Basically if you are a fan of Japanese culture, you will love Snapeee because it’s filled with Kawaii (read cute for my non-Japanese friends) photos of Japanese food, fashion, animals and celebrity models! (:

This, my friends is the kind of Kawaii stuff you find on Snapeee. Doesn’t it make your day?!
So basically I would rate 4/5 for Snapeee for being a super cute and adorable camera, photo decorating and sharing app. It has a great variety of decorations and filters for photos. The ONLY downside I have for this app would naturally be that there isn’t a lot of people using Snapeee in Singapore, so I wouldn’t use/visit it as often as I would for Instagram.
Nonetheless, Snapeee is a great app that might give Instagram a run for its money in time to come. Instagram beware! Hehe.
That’s all for today folks! Let me know if you have come across any new and interesting apps recently, comment away! 😉

Hi lovelies!

Recently I blogged about Fall (in Love) Fashion IT handbags and I’m following up with a Clutches Edition! I’m excited to be posting about them because I’ve selected a pretty long list of 42 clutches across 5 themes. I’m fairly certain that at least 1 of them will tickle your fancy. Haha!

1. Glamorous Renaissance

Fall Winter season is the season for lots of partying and gatherings, thus it’s natural for the bags to reflect the opulence of the season! These choices are great for formal gala dinners and events.

Kotur is a bag label that began in 2004 and I am absolutely in love with her abstract designs! Very architectural and avant garde.

Olympia Le-tan

If you haven’t heard, all of Olympia Le-tan bags are handmade, and limited to only 16 of each design, with the ‘first edition’ handmade by LeTan herself. Her bags range from 1000 pounds and above. Most of them resemble book covers, and have been touted the “intellectual” (maybe more aptly as pseudo intellectual, haha!) bags. Anyhoo, getting a Le-Tan bag is a quirky and unique addition to a consummate fashion bag collector’s collection! (;

Pierre Hardy

Pierre Hardy the designer is born and raised in Paris. He is currently the creative director of Hermes’ jewelry division. His label specializes in shoes and bags for men and women.

I am in love with the bag.

Fall (in Love) Fashion IT Bags 2012

Hi ! *Waves excitedly*

The long awaited post is finally here! Here are my top picks for Fall Winter 2012 handbags! (:

Dolce & Gabbana Embroidered Bags

Dolce & Gabbana’s created a beautiful and intricate Fall Winter 2012 collection inspired by the Renaissance motifs. Carrying these bags would resemble carrying pieces of art on your arms. I will be posting up selected photos of Dolce & Gabbana’s runway looks in an upcoming Fall Winter key highlights post, so do watch out for that! (;

Chanel Le Boy Flap Bag in AlligatorThis, my dear friends, Chanel’s Le Boy is fashion’s next IT bag. From what I’ve heard, they are already sold out in Paris! If you can afford it, this is the bag to add to your collection as it’s a classic design that’s sure to stand the test of time.

3.1Phillip Satchel

Personally i think the 3.1Phillip Lim satchel is distinctive and beautifully laid-back. It’s been around for sometime and I know I’m gonna sound overly dramatic but I feel that most people aren’t aware of just how beautiful it is.

Alexander McQueen Heroine

I spotted the Heroine bag months back when images of the FW bags first came out but it wasn’t until in July when I saw the variations (Leopard, Leather and Suede) that it really drew my attention. LDN Fashion describes it this way, “The design is elegant and classic, but retains that distinctly McQueen edge attitude.” I think the Heroine bag stands a chance to replace Celine’s luggage tote. What do you think?

Jason Wu Kate Python Embossed Calfskin bag

Jason Wu’s Kate bag takes after The Row’s square shaped bag. I’m guessing it’s gonna be a fraction of what The Row’s bag asks for, since it’s faux python/calfskin leather. But what I love about this bag? It’s super sprightly lemon green colour. ^^

DVF Fall Winter Bags 2012

I chose to feature these DVF bags because the colours are so spot on and trendy. As you know, I love fuchsia (IKR, it’s all over my blogskin!) and haven’t you heard, oxblood is Fall Winter’s 2012 key colour!

Anya Hindmarch Fall Winter Bags 2012

Anya Hindmarch’s claim to fame was her “I’m not a plastic bag” bag back in 2007/08. Handbag designer Hindmarch is very conscientious about compartments in handbags and I like how this bag is very practically designed with trendy colours and glitter! Which reminds me of another design I’ve seen recently, the Tiny Tim Light Up , it’s really cute.

Anya Hindmarch Tiny Tim Light Up

It’s a LED lighted bag that’s sure to make you the center of attention if you carry it on the dance floor, LOL.

Tod’s Fall Winter 2012 Bags

I was flipping through the magazines and Tod’s plum bag caught my attention. But alas, I think it looks better on the model / magazine spread then it does on its own. Tod’s bags are great for more formal events and work, plus it looks comfortably roomy!

That’s all for now! Let me know if you decide to get one of the choices above for this coming Fall Winter so that I can bask in your joy as well! Or let me know if you have a Fall Winter bag favourite which is not mentioned in this post! (;

Ena Loves to Travel (Experience Asia Hilton Hotel & CNNGo Contest Entry)

HIIII!!!!

How’s your September coming along? Can you believe that it’s the LAST WEEK of September already? *shudders* Time reallyyyy flies in September! Personally I had this revelation recently that September is like the busiest month of the year for everyone when all the action of work/school/life is in motion and everyone’s just packed with stuff to do! Do you feel the same way too? If not, which is the busiest month for you and why? Let me know in the comment box! (:

So my school’s 1st quarter just wrapped up and I’m supposedly enjoying my 1 week break this week except that there’s actually tons of research and organizational work I have to do for school! HAHA. So alas, not much of a break for me!

Anyway I’ve side-tracked enough because as you can read from the title above, I took part in a contest organized by Hilton Hotel and CNNGo!

Do you like the video? I thought it was quite good (HAHAHA no shame for me) except that I had this constant frown on my face. HAHA. Because I filmed it a few times and I exceeded the 30 seconds mark and I  think I was worried I’d exceed the 30 seconds mark again! LOL.

I filmed it almost 3 weeks ago but I was too busy and neglected to post it up here and garner votes. (T-T)”‘ My video has 2 likes (I have no idea who these lovely people are, and THANK YOU).

I hope to be able to go on future travel trips and film more videos while traveling to share the experiences with you!

A few examples of cool travel vloggers are Justin on his journey with Heineken, watch the preview of his 5 parts journey from Mongolia to Bangkok supposedly (I say supposedly because I highly doubt it) paid in Heineken beer:

And the inspirational Natalie Tran with Lonely Planet in Singapore here:

She travels to many more places, you can watch them on Youtube. I love that she imbues her unique humour to her travel vlogs as well. 😀

I know I have been saying I will update my post on IT bags 2012 since like forever but I promise the next post is it! HAHA. I even have a schedule/list written! I have also attended a few art and fashion events recently (previews available on my Instagram/Twitter) so do watch this space (subscribe if you haven’t) for more exciting updates soon!

Alrighty, that’s all for now!

High Tea @ Arteastiq

Hello~~~

In this post I’m sharing photos I took with some of my lovely classmates while we were celebrating Rach and Belle’s birthday at Arteastiq @ Mandarin Gallery. (:

Arteastiq Tea Lounge at Mandarin Gallery is a beautiful place ideal for afternoon tea and snacks with your girlfriends or loved ones. In another area just next to the cafe area is an Art Jamming area where customers can indulge in some creative time of canvas painting free style or under guidance! Pretty cool idea huh! (;

A group shot with the girls. From behind L to R: Ser Li, Pris, Shi Hui & Shella. Front L to R: Myself, Belle & Rach!

Some of the snacks we ordered including Salmon with bread, Beef Sandwiches, and Duck Crepes. I would recommend and go back for the Salmon and Duck choices. Beef Sandwich was a little too much bread and not enough beef.

My Hazelnut Latte coffee set! ^^ It was great ! The concoction and temperature of the drink was perfect. Plus it came with a packet of two thin chocolate love letter biscuit which was fantastic when paired with the warm drinks!

Other drinks the girls had and would recommend: Pear flavored tea, either hot or cold are both great. Hot chocolate.

With birthday girl Rachel who loves Polka Dots! (:

One more group shot at the entrance. (:
It’s always great to have friends in school that have similar interests and passions in life. Love you girls! Gonna treasure the months counting down to my final year in school! (:

If you’ve visited this place before and have tried something you’d recommend, leave a comment and let me know! (;
