Hi Loves!

You might remember that I enjoyed hosting my blog anniversary giveaway back in end October… And as the Christmas season draws closer, I am once again happily donning my Santa hat by teaming up with some very lovely brands and organizing another giveaway series to spread the love with you my readers! 🙂

Enabalista Gifts of Love 2014

For this Enabalista Gifts of Love 2014 giveaway series, I’ll be hosting 8 giveaways (might have more coming in but there are at least 8 confirmed brands!) for 12 lucky winners on my blog, IG & FB.

The giveaway mechanism will be real simple – all you need to do is:
– to be following me on Instagram (@ena_teo) & Facebook page (Enabalista),
– leave a comment on this blog post and/or respective giveaway image on Instagram (@ena_teo) & Facebook page (Enabalista),
– tag your friends where applicable
The lucky winners will be announced on the blog and respective posts on the 26th Dec and gifts will be sent out by yours truly before the new year. 😉
Giveaway is open to Singapore residents only – sorry to my international readers!

I’ll be updating the 8 giveaways over the next 12 days, so come back here or follow me on my Instagram and Facebook to take part whenever a new giveaway is released~ 🙂

2014-12-09 11.57.29BBSG+2014+FPOL+FAQ

In addition to the giveaways, I would like to also take this opportunity to invite you to join me in bringing some cheer to our local community through the  Boy’s Brigade Share-A-Gift hosted in conjuction with FairPrice online. Disclaimer: this is not sponsored, I picked this movement/exercise because it’s simply a credible and established way of giving back to our community. Just today I heard my church pastor saying that “Miracle is in Giving” just like how The Widow of Zarephath gave her very last oil and flour to the prophet Elijah and God multiply them and made sure that she was not in lack – I strongly believe that we receive back in our giving!

As such, I have donated $50 (see: fairprice – Order Confirmation) to support the Boys Brigade + Fairprice Share a Gift to support a family who needs some festive cheer this season! If you would like to join me to donate/purchasing these $30/$50 gift bags, you can do so here anytime from now to 30 December 2014. Let me know  you have donated by sending me a screencap/shot of the receipt via email (enabalista @ gmail.com) or FB message, send me your address and I will prepare a handwritten Christmas/New Year card for you! I honestly don’t know if anyone would join me to support this meaningful cause, but I will be very happy if you do. Make a family’s day and mine alright? 🙂

Korean Celebrities Love FrancisKay Jewelry

Hi Loves~

As you should know by now, I’m a major Korean Drama fan and I’m almost always following at least 1 Korean drama serial a week and that sort of just very naturally developed my love for Korean fashion and Korean makeup, which is evident allll over my blog. So I discovered a gem of a website by FrancisKay that is a beloved costume jewlery brand worn and loved by many Korean celebrities and I just have to share it with you all!

Check out the  FrancisKay jewelry I’ve got!:2014-12-17 11.20.15-1

Classic Emilia Pearl Set of 3, US $43.88. Buy here. 2014-12-17 11.16.59-1

Each set is beautifully packaged, comes in a chic & simple plastic zip bag and bubble wrapped. My 3 sets took about 1 week to reach me in a box in perfect condition.

Took a few pictures with my New Yorker rings + Dior-inspired New York studded earrings with Pearl back. I really love the design and the quality of the FrancisKay jewelry, you really get what you pay for~! 🙂 It isn’t flimsy metal but great quality that’s sturdy and can be worn repeatedly so I foresee myself wearing it for years or until I am bored of the design, lol~2014-12-21 02.47.17 2014-12-17 00.50.54-1 2014-12-17 00.51.43-1

That’s not all!

Check out the Korean celebrities that are wearing FrancisKay!! I have picked a few of my favourites:

Korean Celebrities Love Francis Kay 005

I can’t be sure if Han Ye Seul is wearing a pair of Dior or FrancisKay in Birth of Beauty (which btw is TOTALLY awesome show everyone must watch!) but it definitely looks like either the New Yorker earring duo in the pearl back or New Yorker Volume to Pearl Earring! The latter which is also worn by another of my favourite Korean actress Jang Na Ra (Fated to Love You):Korean Celebrities Love Francis Kay 002

Korean Celebrities Love Francis Kay 004Shin Seong Rok is seen in Trot Lover wearing FrancisKay For You Special Silver bangle that comes with free engraving. Celebrating 4 Years of Enabalista

Hi Loves!

How’s your week coming along? 🙂
My Monday totally felt like a “weekend coma”; post hectic weekend coma. >_< Last week was a really long week with planning and executing my blog Enabalista’s 4th Anniversary giveaways, blogging appointments as well as work packed back to back. So I felt so lethargic at work on Monday… But then I was totally excited to meet up with my girlies at work for dinner at Saveur heheh.

Before it gets too late, I’d like to share my thoughts on reaching Enabalista’s 4th Anniversary! ^^,

On my Instagram last Thursday, which is also the very date of my very first post on this blog (30th Oct), I posted a series of #TBT photos that encapsulates 4 of my passions and popular topics on my blog:

Enabalista 4th Anniversary Fashion Beauty Travel Food 001

Fashion
I started off this blog to share photos and thoughts of fashion shows that I attended when I was a fashion student. I had the chance to attend many local fashion shows while assisting backstage and also as my BFF, Bini’s guest for the premium shows such as Chanel.

Enabalista 4th Anniversary Fashion Beauty Travel Food 003

Beauty
Not long after, I also started to review beauty products, starting off with skincare and a ton of lip care products. In the course of 4 years, I’ve had the pleasure to review many brands, as seen in the photo and also recommended many of them to you my readers, as well as family and friends.

Enabalista 4th Anniversary Fashion Beauty Travel Food 002

Travel
If you’ve been following my blog long enough, you’ll also know that I love to travel and to blog about my travels. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to travel far for 2014, apart from Malaysia and even for those short trips I also haven’t had the time to post up photos. >_< If you’re new to my blog, I hope you’ll enjoy reading about my trips to Seoul, HK, Japan & London. 🙂

Food
As a true Singaporean, I’m a big fan of fine cuisine! I love to enjoy good food and I love to share where all these delicious food are on my blog here.

My Blogging Philosophy
With 4 years of blogging, I’ve come to realize that my blogging philosophy is sharing about my positive experiences, whether it’s about the 4 topics above or beyond. I relish in new, exciting & enjoyable experiences. Personally I feel that the best gift one can give & receive is spending time together and what better way is there to do than to enjoy a good experience together? 🙂

Additionally, I like to think that my posts are “edu-taining”- educational and entertaining at the same time! My wish is that when readers come to my blog, they’ll soak up new knowledge about fashion, beauty, travel & food while also really enjoy my reviews and photos. Basically every blog post is crafted according to how I would enjoy reading it as a reader! 😉

Etude House Wisma Flagship Store Opening

Did I start out my blog 4 years ago thinking it’d reach where it is today?
Absolutely not. As I mentioned above, I started out blogging to post information and photos that I was passionate about. On hindsight, these information that I have are also exclusive, so blogging is really a great way to share these exciting information and meet bloggers and readers alike who are equally passionate about these topics as I am. It was only in mid-end 2011 that I started to blog quite industriously and was posting up more content in terms of events that I attended and beauty products I’ve tried.

Best Singapore Lifestyle Blog 2013
Then December 2013 came around and I still remember that I was at my church’s 50th anniversary camp at Malacca when I was in the hotel room I shared with my friend Talia and reading the email from HotelClub.com that they have selected me to be one of the “Best Singapore Lifestyle Blog 2013“. I was super stoked and I was incredibly happy, excited and thankful to be recognized for this blog that I’ve been passionately maintaining.

Screen Shot 2014-11-04 at 4.05.15 pmKose Cinderella Finalists & Tricia Ong

Then Jan 2014 came around and I started to receive an influx of invitations from brands for events and reviews. Two very exciting things also happened for me in mid 2014, I took part in Kose Cinderella contest and OMY Best Beauty Blogs contest, one after the other. Although I didn’t win either one of it, I’m still very thankful for my family and friends who have shown so much support for me and through these contests I’ve also got to know the lovely ladies who took part in the contests and these connections are truly invaluable.

2014-10-21 21.49.03-1

Singapore’s Lifestyle Blog
2014 also marks the year where I clearly defined that I wanted my blog to be recognized as a lifestyle blog. I am passionate about things beyond just 1 topic, and I don’t want to limit myself to be only blogging about one topic. So sometime around January this year, I set a goal that I wanted my blog to be known and ranked top as “Singapore’s Lifestyle Blog/Blogger” on Google. Lo & behold, after about 100 posts in 2014 alone, my dream came true in October this year and I was very thankful when a PR contact introduced me as “Singapore’s leading lifestyle blogger”. I don’t know if I am able to maintain my blog’s Google ranking, or how long I can maintain it for, but I know that if more readers enjoy reading what I blog about, then the easier it would be to sustain the ranking. 🙂

The future ahead
Like 4 years ago, I’m not sure where my blog will be headed to in another 4 years. But I do know for sure that I’ll continue to be passionately sharing about my positive experiences for Fashion, Beauty, Travel & Food. Currently there are 2 things that I wish to accomplish: 1. Publish a book about Lifestyle; an editorial summary of topics similar to my blog 2. Produce a series of diary/organizers. However right now I have too much on my plate for work and blogging that I am KIV-ing these goals that I wish to achieve until the time is right. If you’re reading this and would like to partner me to accomplish these goals, email me and we’ll see how we can set things in motion. 🙂

Last but definitely not the least, I want to thank God for His providence and guidance for my life and blog and my family and friends for their support and encouragement. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, my dear readers and friends for reading my blog. 🙂

If you haven’t, be sure to check out these 4 awesome giveaways that I am currently running on my IG, FB & Clozette:

Korean Fashion with OKDGG

Hi Loves!

I’m a big fan of Korean drama and recently I’m crazy over Fated to Love You, which is a korean remake of the popular Taiwan drama of the same name!

Fated-to-Love-You-Poster-1 NosKU0p FatedToLoveYou_PC_bc1 Fated-to-Love-you-korean-dramas-37561448-1280-720 fated_to_love_you-0084 641

(Images taken from various sites as watermarked, last image from Couch Kimchi)

And you know what? Watching this drama is so effective for my exercise and diet plans. >u<
That’s because when I watch HOW SKINNY these korean actresses are (I swear their legs are like my arms, ok maybe I’m exaggerating…) That after an episode a night, I’d be totally motivated to go down for a run even when I am dead tired or resist that pack of biscuits that I considered munching on.

I digress.

I’m not sure about you, but I am totally inspired by Korean fashion and make up. Every time after I watch a korean drama with a great sense of fashion styling, I’d take notes, consciously or unconsciously and be inspired to dress more like them.

But the thing is, we don’t always have access to korean fashion here in Singapore right? And not all of us can afford the luxury of time and cash to fly to Korea every season. 🙁

But with the awesomeness of the internet and OKDGG, now we can shop Korean fashion and have them shipped right to our doorstep! OMG how awesome is that?! FREAKING AWESOME I TELL YA.

What is OKDGG

DGG (Delivery Guarantee Global)service provides global post service through the network of Malltail. We safely handle and deliver your order from South Korea and also support customer satisfaction for your international delivery. – Taken from the FB page.

So basically, OKDGG stands for OK, Delivery Guranteed Globally from South Korea! 😉

Nonetheless, their items are sooo casual chic, mad love!

Monochrome Fashion with Osmose

As a Fashion marketing & management graduate, Fashion is and means many things to me. Fashion is an expression of our personality, how we choose to style and adorn ourselves speaks about who we are and how we want others to perceive us. For my 24th, I had the pleasure to attend a Tag Heuer event (blog post coming up) and celebrate at Prive @ Keppel Bay with my friends. With the monochrome dresses I selected from Osmose, I was well dressed for the occasions. 😉

Decadent Scents with Penhaligon’s Singapore

A while ago Leanne & I popped by Penhaligon’s at Marina Bay Sands for a cosy and intimate Fragrance Profiling session. It was my first experience with Penhaligon’s despite passing by their ION store on several occasion, amazed by the antique yet quirky interior. Penhaligon’s is a perfect paradox; a blend of both traditional British heritage and modern technology & design to develop scents that are relevant to today’s lifestyle.

Penhaligon’s is founded by William Penhaligon who started as a hairdresser at the famous Piccadilly Turkish Baths on Jermyn Street in London before his keen eye for business led him to open a new salon down the street a few years later. Thus Penhaligon’s was born when he started to create his own scents, lotions and potions for his discerning clientele.

At every Penhaligon’s store you will see two Royal Warrants from The Prince of Wales and the Duke of Edinburgh respectively, a mark of recognition for supplying goods and services to the Royal Family. This royal link was forged over 140 years ago when founder Penhaligon was appointed Royal Barber and Ferfumer to the Royal Court during Queen Victoria’s reign and Penhaligon’s was granted its first Royal Warrant from Queen Alexandra in 1903.

Today, Penhaligon’s scents are still made and bottled in England, the signature Penhaligon’s fragrance bottle echoes William’s original design; clear glass with a distinctive ribbon wrapped stopper. Even though Penhaligon’s is over 140 years old, exploring new fragrance technology is at the very heart of what they do.

Penhaligon’s Fragrance Profiling service is a fascinating and extravagant way to help customers find their perfect Penhaligon’s scent. This exclusive service is available at all their boutiques. The fragrance expert will first explore the customer’s fragrance tastes and build a personality profile while engaging in conversation. Then they will introduce the various fragrance families; citrus, floral, etc and watch the client’s reactions. Once a fragrance family is decided, further scented strips are presented to the client, narrowing the choices until only 2 are left. The client is then encouraged to try the two scents on their skin to see how they react to their skin chemistry. The final choice fragrance is then revealed. This experience normally lasts 30 minutes to a hour and is accompanied by tea, biscuits or even a glass of champagne. 😉

We were also introduced to their new (back in July, not so new by now, oops) perfume Tralala, inspired by the fantastical universe of Edward Meadham and Benjamin Kirchkoff, designers behind Meadham Kirchhoff. Meadham Kirchhoff’s shows have been scented by Penhaligon’s for the past nine seasons and Tralala marks the first signature scent collaboration. Tralala is an opulent, hedonistic blend created by Master Perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour.

HEAD NOTES: Aldehydes, Saffron, Whiskey, Ambrette Seed Butter, Galbanum, Violet Leaf Absolute
HEART NOTES: Carnation, Leather, Tuberose, Ylang Ylang, Orris, Incense
BASE NOTES: Myrrh Resinoid, Opoponax Absolute, Patchouli, Vetiver, Cedarwood, Heliotrope, Musk Vanilla

Sans & Sans Delivers Classic Looks with a Twist

Hi Lovelies!

A while back I’ve had the pleasure to be invited down for Sans & Sans’ fashion show which I unfortunately couldn’t make it to due to a clash of schedules. However I did pay a visit to their cozy boutique at Marina Square Shopping Mall to pick out a few items.

Perhaps you don’t frequent Marina Square Shopping Mall and haven’t had the chance to check out this boutique before. So allow me to introduce the Sans & Sans brand!

Sans & Sans is a homegrown (Singapore) label and it’s a brand built on the rich oriental heritage to cater to the sophisticated customers today. Think Shanghai Tang, but in a more affordable bracket.

Without further ado, check out the store:

Sans & Sans Blog Review Enabalista 002_new

The overall vibe of the store’s decor concept is Modernity meets Heritage, as contemporary chic apparels and accessories juxtapose against vintage-style furnishing. The experience of ruffling through the collection is both exciting and cozy.

One can expect new arrivals each week, accessories and bags are sourced from all over Asia. Sans & Sans Blog Review Enabalista 007_new

A very cute hat stand with some of the hats available for sale.

Now for the looks I styled whilst I was there!Sans & Sans Blog Review Enabalista 008_new

I matched a blue collared white long sleeved top with what I call the Sherlock Holmes style pants for a formal look, one that exudes British sensibilities, don’t you agree?Sans & Sans Blog Review Enabalista 009_new

Here in the same top with a cute asymmetrical skort (skirt shorts) which is one of the 2 items I love. Do you ever feel that you keep wearing an item over and over again because it fits so well and you love it that much? That’s exactly how I feel with this pair of skorts. Major love, guys.

Lastly in this white and black striped blazer (don’t mind my love for jackets/blazers, lol). Whilst this look will be perfect for Derby fashion at the horse races, it’s equally fitting in the board room as well. That’s what I love about Sans & Sans, their apparels and picks are able to bring you from the office in the day to a casual party with your friends later in the night.

As you can tell, I tend to pick out the black and white tones in the looks above, for a more balance view of the variety and styles that Sans & Sans offers, check out these looks, featuring my sweet and lovely fellow blogger Gwen:

Watch Blake Lively Ooze with Confidence in Gucci Premiere EDT

Are you a lover of fragrance and looking for a scent that’s empowering yet sufficiently delicate for everyday wear?

Look no further. This year, Gucci introduces their Gucci Premiere Eau De Toilette, which is a lighter, brighter and more delicate incarnate of the signature Gucci Premiere.

IMG_4229.JPG

The Gucci Premiere fragrance range takes its inspiration from the Gucci Premiere couture collection that debuted at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. The luxurious couture gowns have been created to dress the likes of Hollywood starlets such as Jessica Alba, Cameron Dias and Li Bing Bing.

IMG_4228.JPG

The face of Gucci Premiere, Blake Lively reprises her role for the new and softer Eau de Toilette. Blake Lively is no stranger to the Hollywood scene since her entry as the sexy and remarkable Serena Van Der Woodsen of Gossip Girl fame. The image that Lively portrays in and out of the show is consistently attractive and show-stopping, further heightened by her much talked about romance and marriage with Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds.

IMG_4230.JPG

While adhering absolutely to the beautiful fragrance silhouette of the original Eau de Parfum, Gucci Première Eau de Toilette has a new bold brightness – radiant flowers and sparkling citrus notes bring a new lightness to the fragrance. The initial bloom triggers a luminous elegance and effervescence, the orange blossom and the light citrus oils combine to give you a sensation that suggests the pouring of a cold bottle of vintage champagne into a tall, elegant glass. The elegant sparkle of the top notes slowly yield to the radiant white flowers at the heart of the fragrance of freesia, jasmine and soft Bulgarian rose. As the fragrances dries on skin, the subtle but tenacious warmth of leather, patchouli and musky notes complete the fragrance’s captivating charisma.

Watch the campaign for the launch of the new Gucci Première Eau de Toilette starring Blake Lively, doing what she does best; sashaying in the light with sensual elegance while oozing with confidence. You’re welcome. 😉

Did you enjoy this video clip like I did? 😉

Enabalista’s 1st Fashion & Beauty Blog Sale!

Hi Lovelies!

It’s my first blog sale and I hope that some of you will be able to benefit and share in the joy of these items for sale! 🙂

In case you’re wondering why I’m hosting a blog sale; I only have 1 body and that includes 1 face, so I can’t wear that many clothes or use so many products concurrently.  For most of the clothes, I have been gifted (mum, aunt, etc) and I realize that though I really like most of them and have kept some for a while, it’s just not my style to wear. And for others, I don’t see myself wearing them again but they’re still in fair condition(girls tend to like variety, right? :P). Then for the beauty products, some of them are doubles/dupes, I have either bought or been gifted the extra/similar and I can’t possibly finish using them especially when I acquire new products on a monthly basis. It’s definitely a good problem to have and therefore I’m letting all these products go way below their market value, at 10-30% of the retail price (r.p.) because I don’t want to let them go to waste. I also hope some of you will enjoy using these products as well. 🙂

My Illamasqua Makeover Experience

Hi Lovelies!

If you’ve been following me on my Instagram @ena_teo, you’ll know that early last weekend, I had a makeover at Illamasqua’s counter at Robinsons Orchard.

Illamasqua Makeover Enabalista2014-08-06 18.40.14_new

I was excited to be invited down for the makeover by Illamasqua because I’ve long heard of this cult British brand since it came upon Singapore’s shores late last year and I’ve also had the pleasure of checking them out at their first counter at Selfridges while I was in London UK.

1230092_561492393912634_1626405504_nFor the uninitiated, Illamasqua debuted in the UK in 2008 and aims to empower people to express their individuality. As their website so eloquently puts it. “Champions of creativity and fighting against injustice wherever we go, our highly-pigmented, long lasting products provide consumers and make-up artists alike with the products and inspiration to ensure they can express themselves, whoever they are and whatever look they want to achieve.”

They now have 3 standalone stores in the UK, along with many department stores stocking them as well as in Australia, Middle East, Thailand and now in Singapore as well. They are also found in the US market through Sephora stores.

Let’s just go straight to how it was, shall we?

I went down with skincare, sunblock, brows drawn and a light coat of lipstick on my face. 🙂

The last 2-3 weeks I’ve been plagued with all the summer viruses you can think of; sore throat, fever, flu… and I was just recovering (and still am recovering, lol). 😛 So after being quite sick for the week, I was glad to be recovering and heading out with my friends that night! The makeover came in very timely. 🙂

And these are the make up that worked magic under the skilful hands of make up artist Eryn!

Full list of Illamasqua products used for the makeover:

Hydraveil – $58 Skin Base 08 – $59.50 Powder Foundation PF210 – $65 Cream Pigment Emerge – $40 Powder Eyeshadow Wolf / Tango / Machine – $33 Each Powder Blusher Nymph / Thrust / Disobey – $44 Each Lipsticks Shard / ESP – $34 Each Colouring Lips Lust – $31 Raven Mascara – $32

I personally recommend Hydraveil, which is a cosmetic base similar to a primer for normal to oily skin, This stuff is good. It hydrates the skin while prepping it for the foundation. Overall I really enjoyed the foundations – skin base liquid and powder foundations – they provided moderate coverage (what I needed and how I like it) without being too heavy or cakey. I’m also glad to attest that they stayed on 12 hours after a longgg night with my friends with a lottt of dancing and walking. And they came off easily with my usual water based makeup remover routine! And my skin did not break out whatsoever. 😉 I would also really recommend the lipsticks in the colours I’ve worn for the makeover – Shard, ESP & Underworld, just cause they’re sooo prettyyy and they were also not particularly drying either, as pigmented lip colours usually do. 🙂

These are the skin base and primers for regular daily wear. With so many colours to choose from! 🙂 Illamasqua Makeover Enabalista2014-08-06 18.39.32_new

These ones are more for stage/theatre wear with thicker coverage. And the ones on the right are the pressed powders.

The many pretty blushers to pick from, from pastels to darker pinks, orange and purples.

Their false eye lashes are also definitely worth checking out too! Very dramatic and you might find a perfect one for a special occasion. 🙂 Illamasqua Makeover Enabalista2014-08-06 18.40.23_new

Lipsticks, one of my beauty weakness! Unlike skincare, foundations & eye makeup, this is one beauty item that I can change on a daily basis to match my mood. So it’s hard to say no to lipsticks! Look at that beautiful array! Illamasqua Makeover Enabalista2014-08-08 19.57.59_new Illamasqua Makeover Enabalista2014-08-08 19.58.04_new

April Recaps

Hi Lovelies!

YES, it’s time for another monthly update! *Throws confetti in the air*

I know, I know. I am *ahem* just about 3.5 months late…
That’s not embarrassingly late at all, right? I mean, it’s not April 2015 yet, right? 😛

So, you may not believe it like I do, but somehow while I was clearing my April photos folder, I somehow managed to find photos from February and March. LOL. Some of the photos I think I didn’t published on my blog previously.

For the uninitiated/ readers new to my blog, I’ve only started a monthly update a while back, of my personal life and what nots that I find amusing but doesn’t properly fall into an event or review blog post, so I’ve decided to combine them into a major long photo post of sorts.

Anyhoo, that’s long enough for an intro, enjoy! 😉

Jap Ramen with Cheryl2014-02-19 18.49.08_newJap Ramen with Cheryl2014-02-19 20.26.37_new

Met up with Cheryl my JC classmate back in Feb, been about 5 years since we last met and she doesn’t seem to have aged at all. Still pretty and sweet as ever! We had dinner at this ramen place at the 3rd or 4th level of Parco Next Next and I believe this place has shifted out. Not too sure what the name of the place is called but they seem to serve their specialty ramen with black garlic oil. Definitely yummy!

Ena April Recap 20142014-03-23 13.44.50_new

A March pic, which I posted on my Instagram. Basically my first random/spontaneous fried rice I cooked for lunch. Leftover rice, egg, luncheon meat. Was not particularly savory but passable! Well at least it looks decent. 😛

So I’m not sure why I didn’t include these pics into my March update, basically my friends and I had brunch on the last day of March, a cafe that Jacq was quite eager to check out after reading some good reviews online; Stirling Highway.

Char & Brunch~Stirling Highway Review2014-03-30 14.48.58_new

My Salmon Eggs Benedict, which was disappointing to say the least. Very unfortunately when we reached at about 2pm, they already didn’t have quite a lot of lunch items (even though it was legit lunch time) and it was also too early for dinner items like Truffle fries. The waitress had to “check in with the kitchen” to see if we could order brunch items. It was surprising that their stock had run out on a Sunday afternoon. And the salmon in the eggs benedict was bad, as in smelled spoilt upon my first bite that I had to request to return it. For the record, I rarely ever do something like that because I know how insulting it is to the kitchen. Nonetheless they returned it back to me, citing that that’s how the Hollandaise sauce smells like… So I just removed the salmon pieces and finished my meal feeling quite absurd about the whole situation. However the only lightness of the entire situation was they decided to give me a 20% discount for the meal, although they did not admit that the Salmon was not fresh.

Therefore I would not recommend nor go back to this place. This place is also really far for me since I stay in the east, so I doubt I would go back to this place! 😛

Yes, now going to April photos proper. Lol!
April was pretty good, or at least so it seems from the photos in this post, lol.

April 1st was April Fools Day, in case you forgot. And Google is super fond of having cool stuff for everyone. So for this year’s April Fool’s special thing, it was catching Pokemon on Google Maps! I obviously went quite crazy trying to catch ’em all. Key word being trying. I didn’t managed to catch all 150 of them in 24 hours. 🙁

Oh apparently Google sent a hardcopy mail to all those who caught 150 Pokemons to “certify” them as Pokemon masters!

Go visit if you work/stay or just popping by around the area!

It’s right next to a Japanese restaurant at Lorong 4 Toa Payoh. I can’t seem to find the address online, but I’ll ask for it the next time I’m there and update here again. 😛

If you were living under a rock unaware, back in April, a small Ming dynasty-era bowl dubbed the “chicken cup” sold for 281.2 million Hong Kong dollars (US$36.3 million) at a Sotheby’s sale in Hong Kong on Tuesday, setting a record for the most expensive Chinese porcelain ever sold at auction, see article on Wall Street Journal here.

I was so impressed that I immediately when to my kitchen, took out this chicken dish, and proceeded to snap the following pictures. I am sorry to disappoint, but it’s not going to be sold for millions, it’s just priced at $2,000. Don’t ask me why it’s sold for $2,000, not $200 or $20,000. Cause you know, you shouldn’t be so caught up with the price, I just like the price $2,000. Should you be so keen to purchase this rare and exquisite item, you may email me at enabalista @ gmail.com (no gaps). 🙂

Enabalista Sun Blocks2014-04-30 00.41.05_newThere was a day in April when I wanted to post this particular photo up on Instagram, but I just couldn’t. It’s one of those weird unexplainable technology/Instagram faux pax and so this photo never made it to my Instagram. It’s basically a photo of all the sunblocks I have. 10. I believe I have more than 10 now as of August. 😛 A beauty blogger never says no to more beauty products, esp. Sunblocks! Haha.

Alright! That pretty much sums up my exciting April with a lot of food and friends. Ena will never say no to food and friends. 😛

Sweet Date Look Make Up & Hair with Panasonic Eyelash Curler & Nanocare Hair Styler

Hi Lovelies~

Lately I’ve been playing with the Panasonic Beauty Tools
Eyelash Curler EH-SE60 & Panasonic Nanocare Hair  Straightener EH-HS95K
and I thought I’d create a “Sweet Date Look” skincare, makeup and hair tutorial to share how I use these tools in my daily living!

Watch the video tutorial here:

My review ~

Screen Shot 2014-07-20 at 10.44.38 pm

Panasonic Eyelash Curler EH-SE60

This eyelash curler definitely requires a little getting used to, similarly to the traditional eyelash curler/clamper, it is daunting to put a tool to close to your eyes. So what I did was to turn on the Panasonic Eyelash Curler and used my finger to touch the curler while it was turning. It was just a light sensation and so I overcome by initial fear and could confidently place it close to my eyes and curl my lashes from the base to the top. :) Unfortunately as my lashes aren’t very long and full the effect isn’t very obvious on screen. However once coated with the mascara, the natural curl effect is visible to me. :) Perhaps a down side to the Eyelash Curler is that it requires an AA battery, which does not come with the box and it took me a few days to buy the battery. So if you’re getting this, remember to grab a pack of AA battery along as well!;)

Screen Shot 2014-07-20 at 10.33.33 pm

Panasonic Nanocare Hair  Straightener EH-HS95K

As mentioned in the previous post and video above, this is the best and I personally love this product out of all the products sponsored/loaned by Panasonic for review. It’s obviously an effective hair styler, though termed Straightener, it can also double up as a curler (as seen in my previous post and post event video). It straightens and curls hair without drying the hair out or causing the hair to frizz because it’s imbued with nanocare technology which allows the moisture of the hair to be retained. So after styling my hair with this product, my hair is light and shines. Highly recommended hair styler product!

In case you’re wondering, I used 4 skincare products, 10 makeup products excluding 1 Panasonic Eyelash Curler EH-SE60, 1 Panasonic Nanocare Hair  Straightener EH-HS95K, 1 fragrance, 1 set of earrings and 2 bobby pins to complete the look. That’s a total of 15 skincare and makeup products, 2 beauty tools, 1 earrings and 2 bobby pins for one date look. :P

Remember to vote for my blog daily until 31st July here! :*

Sects Shop Private Party @ Orchard Gateway

Hi Lovelies <3

I had the pleasure of attending Sects Shop’s Private Party @ Orchard Gateway a while back. 🙂

For the uninitiated, Sect’s Shop is a new concept shop with a focus on Men’s street wear; brought to you by the same folks behind Depression, the local cult label that’s going international. It’s a privilege to have seen them go from Blueprint Tradeshow back in 2011 to Seoul Fashion Shows in 2014. Altho most of their brands are men’s focused apparels, brands such as NCE; which stands for Not Cool Enough bring in unisex apparels and well, girls can always wear guy’s shirts as oversized, ala boyfriend style. 😉 Street style in monotone just spells cool chic addiction, to me at least. Well, I’m not gonna continue to wax lyrical about Sects Shop and NCE because trust me, I can go on all day.

Currently Trending World Cup 2014 Fashion & Beauty

What’s awesome about World Cup isn’t just about the hot guys, skilled players & nice jerseys & kicks.

It’s also the patriotism & the camaraderie that the games bring out in people.
It’s being able to get together and root for the same team/people/person *ahem Germany & Klose winning his record breaking 16th World Cup goal, woohoo!*.

It’s being able to put aside our various differences and arguments aside for a while and be one the same side for a while. Or even to agree to disagree and be on different sides, sometimes it’s also fun that way, isn’t it?

Whether you happen to be rooting for the same team with your friends or not, there are some World Cup inspired Fashion and Beauty products that you all can still appreciate together! 😉

061114-ej-world-cup-567

Designed by the Olsen Twins, under the TEXTILE Elizabeth & James label, these World Cup inspired Tees are exclusively available on Shop Bop here. Singlets and shirts, US$88-92.

For a more affordable alternative, we can always trust on Forever 21 to provide some very on point and comfy fashion choices. Titled Soccer Collection and now at a very generous 40% offer, items are running out quickly, prices US$6.80-14.80 including men’s items here.

This is a pair of very quirky Karl Lagerfeld x Melissa shoe with a soccer ball as the ornament. Definitely shows you’re a very ball-sy kind of gal. Ha! 😉 For the full collection, here.061214-world-cup-fashion-1-567

I actually think this is really cute. TOMS designed a very pretty “all countries flags gathered together” print shoe. Also will be appropriate in another 2 years for Olympics. Heh. US$54 on Toms site here.Charlotte-Olympia-bags

Fancy carrying your patriotism on your clutch? Apparently Charlotte Olympia thinks so! This would be awesome for the respective countries’ independence day too. 🙂

Kate Spade keeps it classy and simple with a soccer inspired wallet. Definitely for a soccer fan type of girl.

world-cup-style-gallery-30

MCM shows a little more child like influence in their soccer inspired bag with an obvious Brazilian coloured theme.

For the hardcore and wealthy soccer fans, getting a watch might be timely (pun intended) for the season.

Best of Blueprint Tradeshow 2014

Hi Lovelies! <3

I was at Blueprint Tradeshow 2014 and here’s a selection of my version of Best of Blueprint Tradeshow 2014.
For more info., you may refer to their official site here.
There’s some 200 local and international labels, of which I’m featuring about 20 here, enjoy!

Ana Faye

Ireland. Website here. Full 2015 lookbook here.

Before the tradeshow, I was invited down to her booth by Ana Faye, who found me online while search for press/blog releases online for previous yearsBlueprint. Ana Faye hails from Ireland, having worked as a fashion and accessories designer for several years in London, Italy and China, her love for handbags and Ireland led her back home to start designing and making her own unique line of leather bags. She now stocks all over Ireland, UK, Europe and the USA and is looking to expand into Asia.

Unique powder blue leather bag. (Better colour reflected below), 179 pounds here.

Ana with her creations. 🙂 Bella Shopper in Sea Green available here.2014-05-16 12.58.10

Here with Ana! 😉

NatalieBColeman

Ireland. Website here.

Next up we have NatalieBColeman, also an Irish designer with confident and bold womenswear designs with a tinge of quirkiness. She presented a new FW 2014 collection that I love, which unfortunately at this point in time I don’t have the press images.

LingWu

Singapore. Website here.

Ling Wu is no stranger to Blueprint, having showcased at Blueprint since the beginning, Ling Wu label has grown exponential and lately even showcased in Paris. Visit her FB here.2014-05-16 13.11.08 2014-05-16 13.12.41 2014-05-16 13.12.31

2014-05-16 13.13.11 2014-05-16 13.14.00With Ling Wu assistant & Lasalle junior, Margarita.

So so, I only had an hour’s breeze around the Blueprint Tradeshow,
as such the labels below are the brands I see on the handbook which I like and selected to feature here.

In case you’re wondering, the premise of which I decide to feature these brands are based; mainly on what I like, which is womenswear, and a kind of aesthetics veering towards contemporary chic and irreverent. 🙂

AL’Manita

Thailand. Website here.

Stylish, contemporary, chic. Irreverent yet sophisticated. I want the entire collection, nuff’ said. See the entire Spring Summer 2014 collection here.

American Retro

France. Website here.

1

Lookbook in larger images/pdf here.

Irreverent slogan tees, varsity jackets, knee high socks, pink leather jackets, pencil skirts, suited blazers. Effortless cool, that’s what they are. The non-basic basics of American fashion editors and fashionistas. I am in love with the brand. My only complain is the name, American Retro – it just conjures the image of a deserted American Petrol Kiosk, which I feel isn’t relevant today. Perhaps something more updated would be better. Nonetheless, the name does explain the heritage of the brand, the french designers went to US and came back inspired to design a collection and brand.

Ange Révolte

Singapore. Website here.

image2 image3 image8

Titled Metaphor, Pre-Fall 2014 Collection, where there is light, there’s darkness, where there’s good, there’s bad. Frankly I think that black and white has been done to death by local designers, but there’s something still refreshing about this collections; the little details, the geometric cuts and designs, would definitely wear them. Full collection here. Fall collection also out here.

Bitching & Junkfood

UK. Website here. FB here.

There isn’t much images available from their official site, wanted to show you their SS14 collection/lookbook but couldn’t find it so I’m showing photos posted on their FB to show you a glimpse of their brand and irreverent style, which is obviously totally in line with their name, ya’know.

Ema Savahl Couture designer with a heavy emphasis on art and textures in her creation and also worn by celebrities worldwide. Images from their FB and Etsy shop. These outfits are perfect for afternoon dates at the park, a museum visit and are simply indicative of a woman of elegant pursuits and activities. Maybe all of us will start visiting the museum more often when we don these pieces. Someone buy these beautiful designs for me, please.

Thanks to Blueprint 2014 for the media pass and materials for the tradeshow. 😉
