Vibrant Fashion Steps Out 2015 @ Orchard Road

Hi Loves!

A while back a group of Clozette ambassadors and I attended Fashion Steps Out 2015 @ Orchard Road and here are the photos from the media preview and actual evening! It’s my second consecutive FSO and I really enjoy the vibrancy of watching the models sashay down the road instead of the traditional runway! Plus it’s just so much fun to be there and enjoy the evening with friends. 😀

My Zalora Loots

Hi Loves!

So I recently I blogged about ShopVenture before I went shopping on Zalora and here are my loots! You can check out my review which is now up on their site here. 😉ShopVenture Zalora Review 005

1 of 3 Zalora dresses I bought, they were having a 3 for $50 offer, score! This is a white dress which would be perfect for my formal work attire. The other 2 are safe black dresses. The material, fit and cut is pretty good for this price!ShopVenture Zalora Review 003

Really love this Material Girl blue dress, the fabric is soft and the fit is awesome. I can’t wait to wear it for a night out! 🙂ShopVenture Zalora Review 001

This is probably the only dress that didn’t fit that well (and the most pricey at $31, lol), I’m usually a size 8 but this Girlondon dress comes a little smaller. So I guess I have to lose some weight to fit it better as I don’t want to go through the hassle of exchanging! 😛ShopVenture Zalora Review 002Will be wearing these out, follow and look out for my OOTD updates on IG, @ena_teo! 😉

Face Your Inner Demons // DEPRESSION Spring Summer 2015 @ DFW2014

DEPRESSION introduced their SS 2015 collection titled “Inner Demons” to much applause at Digital Fashion Week 2014. I love the womenswear in this very street style chic collection and would totes wear all of them out. DEPRESSION is arguably Singapore’s most recognisable local label and that is undoubtedly testament to the super duo Kenny & Andrew’s talent in story telling, persistent and unending efforts in introducing compelling collections every season and cross promotions with brands and celebrities. New and inspiring local designers and labels should definitely study them as a role model on how to succeed in SG and beyond. It is thus definitely well deserved that they are included in the SG50 book as one of the pride and representative of local brand and talents. Without any more further ado, check out the collection below!

Abstract Prints for Sarah Morris x Longchamp Collection

HI Loves!

Sometime back, Fenny invited me to attend Longchamp’s special Sarah Morris collection launch at their ION outlet. Sarah Morris is an abstract print designer and together with Longchamp, they created a series of bags with her prints and limited edition colours. I’m not sure if they’re still in stock, lol cause I’m posting this about half a year later, oops! Since Longchamp bags are so common nowadays, it’s nice for them to release LE bags which are more unique. Anyhoos, it was really fun attending the launch with Fenny and we had salad for dinner at Watami after! 😛Longchamp x Sarah Morris Collection Enabalista 004 Longchamp x Sarah Morris Collection Enabalista 005 Longchamp x Sarah Morris Collection Enabalista 003 Longchamp x Sarah Morris Collection Enabalista 001 Longchamp x Sarah Morris Collection Enabalista 002 Longchamp x Sarah Morris Collection Enabalista 006 Longchamp x Sarah Morris Collection Enabalista 007x

Internships: Get Paid To Pick Up Essential Skills & Knowledge

Hi Loves!

Last week I blogged about my part time job experience, read it here if you haven’t. 😉 Today, I’d like to share about my internship singapore experiences.

When I was in LASALLE, I wanted to know as much as I could about the Fashion industry in Singapore and I realized that the way I could do so was by applying and getting an internship with a local fashion company. Over the course of 2010-2012, I took up several internship / paid positions with various companies; including a backstage stint with Blueprint Fashion Tradeshow, as well as an admin and accounts assistant with Club21, a multi-label retailer in Singapore.

Through these internships in singapore, I got to meet many local designers of local brands, such as Depression and Revasseur and international brands such as Timo Weiland. I also learnt first hand that the cliche is completely true: Fashion is a lot of glitter and glam on stage and on camera, but it’s a lot of hard work, grit, sweat, long hours behind the scenes and many years before you see the light of day as an established designer/brand/marketer.

With Andrew of Depression in 2014 during Sects Shop Opening (as a guest, not an intern, haha)

Many people always ask me how I ended up in the real estate industry as a property agent when I was studying Fashion Media & Industries in LASALLE. And it’s no secret, really. The reason is because my friend Valerie’s recommended me for a marketing internship with a local real estate developer company, back in 2011 when I was still studying and that opened the doors for me into the property world.

It was during my internship as a marketing intern at property show flats that exposed me to the world of property sales. I quickly learnt how property agents build rapport with their clients and qualify their client; if they were eligible to buy executive condominiums and if they had sufficient funds to purchase such a big ticket item as a condominium.

Of course I also learnt how incredible the potential financial reward was for a property agent, and more so for a property developer. I learnt and saw how so many different people and departments came together for a single project: developer marketing team, outsourced marketing team, architects, landscaping team, bankers and property agents. It was this world of business and sales that attracted me to join as property agent.

A lot of people spend time wondering how some people get their feet into the door of a certain company or get the opportunity to that coveted job, and the secret is this: many singapore internship opportunities are disguised as work – if you’re willing to work for little to nothing, you’ll be sure to find many opportunities coming your way.

Fashion Stylist Keith Png’s Tips for Different Body Types

Hi Loves!

Keith Png held a fashion demo giving tips for different body types at Tommy Hilfiger for their FW collection (I know I know, this is a #superbelatedblogpost T_T#) and I was really pretty inspired after the demo!Keith Png Fashion Workshop for Tommy Hilfiger 002

A preppy chic male outfit~Keith Png Fashion Workshop for Tommy Hilfiger 003

Keith styling the model with a scarf – a little accessory goes a long way! Also, he shared that pear shaped women should use a clutch strategically over the waist area during events and photo-taking to give a slimmer silhouette! I love this tip!

Keith Png Fashion Workshop for Tommy Hilfiger 004 Keith Png Fashion Workshop for Tommy Hilfiger 005

Pear-shaped women should also dress with dark bottoms and brighter or patterned tops, just like the outfit he picked out above.

Another tip Keith shared was to use bags that are wider instead of longer, because it completes the overall look better – plus from personally experience, wider bags are more functional! Keith Png Fashion Workshop for Tommy Hilfiger 007 Keith Png Fashion Workshop for Tommy Hilfiger 008

One more tip for women who would like to have a fuller bust, is to wear outfits that have more details in the front as well as to accessorise with a belt and emphasise on a small/er waist.Keith Png Fashion Workshop for Tommy Hilfiger 010

Hollywood Glamour with Charlotte Tilbury Fallen Angel Smokey Eyeshadow Palette

Hi Loves!

Earlier this year I received a box of love from Net-a-Porter with two beauties from Charlotte Tilbury, namely the Fallen Angel Smokey Eye Palette and the Rock N Kohl Eye Pencil.

Super duper love the cute and precious starry embossed effect on the palette! <3 <3 <3Charlotte Tilbury Smokey Eye Fallen Angel Eyeshadow Palette Rock & Kohl Eye Pencil Review 003

My first look using Charlotte Tilbury Smokey Eyeshadow Fallen Angel Palette  & Rock & Kohl Eye Pencil. I dusted the light peach over my upper eyelids, coloured in the light brown from the inner corners of the eyes, ended off with the dark golden brown and black and drew in the cat eye tips using the eyeliner. I fell in love with this eyeshadow palette’s fine powder yet awesome pigmentation and beautiful colours. With primer and foundation as the base, the Rock & Kohl eyeliner lasted the entire day and didn’t smudge. However on other tries, I realized that if I didn’t have proper primer or foundation, the eye liner will smudge in our humid Singapore weather. I paired it with a bright pink lip colour for a contemporary and feminine look.Charlotte Tilbury Smokey Eye Fallen Angel Eyeshadow Palette Rock & Kohl Eye Pencil Review 004Another look I created with Charlotte Tilbury Smokey Eyeshadow Fallen Angel Palette  & Rock & Kohl Eye Pencil for the recent Singapore Fashion Week. This time I upped the dramatic factor by going for a heavier smokey eye effect before drawing in thicker cat eye effect with the eye pencil. I used a scarlet red lipstick (Elizabeth Arden’s Scarlet) for a classic look.

Have you any Charlotte Tilbury makeup products that you use and love? Do share in the comments below!

Thank you Net-A-Porter & Directions Group for the products for review.

SFW 2015: Harper’s Bazaar’s Asia New Gen Fashion Designer Award 2015 Happening This Sat

Hi Loves!

It’s time for Singapore Fashion Week again!

If you haven’t, check out the video compilation of the awesome designs from last year’s designers! I personally liked the Harper’s Bazaar’s Asia New Gen Fashion Designer Award designs better then the Star Creations. As the designs were more wearable and commercially viable – I wanted to wear a lot of the designs! 😀

More about the Harpers Bazaar’s Asia New Gen Fashion Designer 2015,  the winner of the competition will be awarded a scholarship for a Master’s degree in fashion from the prestigious Istituto Marangoni (worth GBP26,700; about $56,430) in either its Paris, London or Milan campuses. He or she will also have the opportunity to retail their collection to a global market through online retailer, Inverted Edge. Over and above all this, the winner and all 10 finalists’ collections will be showcased in the five sponsoring Asian editions of Harper’s BAZAAR.

Since 2013, the top finalists from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore have received immeasurable publicity and support from the industry: From having their collections featured in the pages of the magazine, to getting the opportunity to showcase them at Fashion Weeks in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and more around the region.

The five editors from Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam will be on the judging panel in this regional competition. The finalists would be judged on the following criteria to ensure they have what it takes to succeed on a global scale: 1) Imagination and originality 2) Consistency 3) Technical knowledge in garment construction 4) Commercial viability of their designs and 5) Business and marketing acumen.

I’m looking forward to see the designers and their designs come this Saturday!

Fresh L.A. Look with Chez Vous Hair

Hi Loves!

A while back I headed back to Chez Vous for a new look, I didn’t have any particular look in mind and just trusted hair stylist Jamie to do what she’s good at. 😉 She told me that I’d look good with blond highlights, so I just went ahead with it! Very adventurous, I know. I very surprised by the look at first because I wasn’t used to the blond / ash highlights. But majority of my friends remarked that its a fresh new look and that they like this look… I sorta feel like Elsa (more specifically should be the younger sister Anna, hahaha) from the Disney animated movie, Frozen. I think that with this look, I feel like an L.A. girl, if I may say so myself, LOL.

Check out my “new” look

Look Your Best For Valentine’s Day

Look Your Best For Valentines Day 2015

Hi Loves~!

Valentines’ Day is coming right up this Saturday and whether you’ve got a sweet date with your special someone or having a picnic with a group of close pals (like me, hahaha) you want to look your best right?

I’ve got a few ideas here to brighten up your look and your date’s face. 😉

Look Your Best For Valentines Day 2015 VGY Vaingloriousyou Store Opening

Are you still wondering what to wear for Valentines Day? Why not visit VGY store at 42 Haji Lane for some great ideas? Founded by fashion blogger Tricia Ong, VGY store stocks fashionable, feminine and totally wearable pieces that are popular for its often soft and delicate prints and designs. They revamped and reopened late last year and their collections are always running out due to the brand’s popularity. I would recommend you checking out their online store and making a call to check if the store stocks the design you want in your size before going down. Or you could just visit them and see what’s in store too! 😉

Look Your Best For Valentines Day 2015 Bioderma LE Reserved Pump Cap

A lovely face always starts with great skincare and the basis of good skin is ensuring that you’ve got a great make up cleanser. My current and highly recommended makeup cleanser Bioderma has introduced a new and limited edition reversed pump cap and it’s such a wonderful invention! I no longer have to pick up and turn over the bottle during my makeup cleansing step, how convenient. 🙂

Look Your Best For Valentines Day 2015 Estelle & Thild Super Bio Active Magic Duo

After ensuring you have a clean face, it’s time to pamper and keep your skin moisturized. Of late I’ve been giving my skin some tender love and care with Estelle & Thild’s Super Bio Active Magic Duo, touted as effective anti-aging products made with the brand’s revolutionary microalgae-based Super Bio Active ingredients. Using the Age Control Serum to even and tone, boost collagen production and soften lines, mixing a few drops with the Repairing Oil Complex to hydrate and increase elasticity while helping to repair and combat damage. As I have combination of normal and oily T-zone skin, I’ve been using this duo at night and on my normal skin areas and my neck. It has a remarkable peach scent which I love and though I am wary of oils in general on my facial skin, I found that these have been totally fine when I use them on my lower face, neck and hands, yay! Specifically these help my skin to remain softer and suppler till the next morning, comparing to when I just apply a coat of moisturizer, which doesn’t last through the entire night. I recommend this especially if you have dry skin concerns. You can get them from Net-a-porter here.

Look Your Best For Valentines 2015 MTG Refa Carat Blogger Review

Do you desire to have a more V-shape face and more defined facial features? MTG recently hosted an intimate bloggers session and we were introduced to their array of hand held facial and body devices and massagers. The MTG ReFa CARAT in particular offers many benefits for your entire body. You can use this wonderful device to massage your face, hands, arms, bust, waist, legs and feet for brighter smoother skin, relax and sooth your aching muscles and for a more toned looking appearance. Plus, this product is coated in Platinum so it’s suitable for sensitive skin. I totally recommend one for each family, so you can help your boyfriend/husband/wife/mother/sister to massage and vice versa, plus good for bonding too. ^^ If this product sounds like what you’ve been looking for, you can enjoy a 10% discount when you use my special reader’s code “MTGena” when you purchase from their e-store. Look Your Best For Valentines 2015 Estee Lauder Little Black Primer Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipsticks Eyeshadow Palette Blogger Review 001Look Your Best For Valentines 2015 Estee Lauder Little Black Primer Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipsticks Eyeshadow Palette Blogger Review 002

Last but definitely not the least in my special Valentines Day feature, I am calling out to all you makeup lovers~ Estee Lauder has introduced a brand new Little Black Primer that’s triple usage: Tint your natural lashes for darker lashes, Amplify when you use it as a base /primer for your mascara, Set when you use it after your mascara, so it lasts longer and prevents flaking. I’ve used it mainly on its own and as a primer. On it’s own it’s been great and it provides enough length on its own as a usual mascara and when I use it with another mascara, I feel it provides a good base to extend and volumize my lashes. Estee Lauder also has an array of beautiful Pure Color Envy Lipsticks colours and what you see here are colours in Dominant, Eccentric, Envious and Infamous as well as the accompanying Limited Edition Nail Lacquers. The lipsticks are pigmented and moisturizing, creating the perfect pout. If you’re wondering what gift to get for your girlfriend/wife/sweetheart, look no further, get them a set of these in a colour you think suits her best! 😉 For a sweet romantic look, go for Estee Lauder’s Pure Color Envy Sculpting 5-Color EyeShadow Palette in Pink Mink. Use the lighter colours to highlight your brows, accentuate your eyes in a deeper pink and frame it with the browns. Top it off with a light eyeliner and it’ll be hard not to look desirable with this look, if I may so myself! 😛

Stay beautiful and have a great Valentines Day my loves!

A Royal Affair with Love & Co

Hi Loves!

Sometime back Love & Co hosted a “Royal Love Affair” bloggers’ event. I’m happily single so I invited my friend Cheryl to come along with me… and her BF tagged along with us too! Cheryl & I had a blast going through the Love & Co experience in finding our perfect ring… Right now my tastes gear towards Platinum, thin band and matt surface. Not sure if this preference is gonna change down the road or not! I had the privilege to don on a diamond engagement ring with the cool price tag of $35,000. Don’t worry guys, market rate for an engagement ring is still somewhere from 1-6 months salary. Obviously what’s more important is whether your partner appreciates/agree with the value of the ring.. Cheryl & I also love the details and intricacies of Love & Co’s ring designs and the array of desserts that day!  I recommend the senior consultant Stephen Loh who was very patient, helpful and happy to share his wealth of knowledge with us. Valentines’ Day is coming soon… If you’re planning a surprise for your other half, why not consider paying Love & Co a visit soon? 😉 You can check them out them online here and find a list of their stores here.

Party Up in Risis Style

Hi Loves~

*:. Happy New Year! .:*

First of all, I am so super happy that we’re in 2015 right now. 2014 hasn’t been the worst but neither has it been the best and I am just so grateful to enter into the new year and I believe with all my heart that 2015 is going to be a so much better year for me – at work, in life and blogging too! Taking the time to wish all of you a wonderful 2015 – may the new year bring you greater joy & successes in all that you do!!!

Now onto the blog post proper, back in late November, Risis threw a party in style – if there’s any store party that I’ve attended and loved in 2014, it’d be Risis’ – humourous styling workshop with celebrity stylist Keith Png, beautiful jewelery, good food, makeup and nails booth – a girl’s heaven! Truth be told, I wasn’t in my best of form as I was feeling under the weather and having a bad hair day, lol. Nonetheless that didn’t keep me from enjoying the event with my friend and sweetie pie Christabelle!

Scroll down to check out my photos & captions from the event. 😉

Keith demonstrating how to layer up jewellery on the hands. He also shared how to spot whether you’re warm or cool skin tone – greenish veins means warm while blueish veins means cool. My veins are greenish so I have warm skin tone. Warm skin tones suit gold coloured jewellery while cool skin tones suit silver coloured jewellery. That said, I usually have no problem wearing either – in the sense that I think I look okay with both gold and silver – and I prefer silver for day to day jewellery and wear gold for special occasions.

Keith proceeds to show us how to match jewellery for different looks and occasions, beginning with more casual and office looks.

Get Red Carpet Ready with Marc Anthony True Professional Haircare

Hi Loves~!

A few weeks back I attended Marc Anthony True Professional Red Carpet workshop and picked up a few nifty hair tips in addition to being acquainted with their products. Valerie, the brand executive of Marc Anthony in Singapore introduced the brand and products to us, followed by a hands on demonstration and workshop taught by hair stylist Shawn Ang.

I use to be really lazy with my hair, I’d just towel dry my hair and head out when its still semi-dry and it’s only in this one year after being acquainted, testing so many hair products that I am only slowly beginning to show better love and care for my hair. As the saying goes, our hair is our crowning glory – a lot of us shell out big bucks for a nice cut, dye and treatment, why should we not spend a little more on home care products to ensure the longevity of these expensive treatments on our hair?

For the uninitiated, Marc Anthony True Professional is a trusted brand that hails from Toronto and is stocked in 30,000 retail shops world wide. Marc Anthony the founder and creator is a celebrity hair stylists and he has tended to the the tresses of red carpet beauties like Blake Lively, Jessica Alba and Lauren Conrad.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself at the event with my fellow lovely beauty and lifestyle bloggers and enjoyed using the Argan the day after the event, I started using the Oil of Morocco Argan Oil treatment and Bye Bye Frizz Keratin Smoothing Blow Dry Cream to style and nourish my hair. I highly recommend both products and I am going to purchase their 2nd Day Dry Shampoo from Watsons because the entire local team was raving about how effective it is to keep hair dry and odour free especially after lunch – brilliant!

Enjoy the photos~!

There were 2 other bloggers and myself who were invited down earlier to have our hair done by Shawn before the event – super love how he straightened my hair with just the lightest curl at the edges. If only I could have this hair everyday!

Shawn conducts the Red Carpet workshop by demonstrating on attendees’ hair, here with Jeraldine. Notice how he blows and then ties her hair and styles it up into a high crown + pony tail look that’s super trendy and runway ready.

Another look I did up myself by pinning my fringe up and wearing a pair of earrings I bought from Lovisa – I like buying such “special occasion” earrings to stock up for when the occasion arises, heh!Marc Anthony Singapore Blogger Workshop Product Review 010

With lovely beauty/lifestyle bloggers Jerlene, Roanna, Amie & Jeraldine. Always fun to catch up with Jerlene and Roanna and such a pleasure meeting sweet ladies Amie and Jeraldine for the first time.

Marc Anthony Singapore Blogger Workshop Product Review 011

Marc Anthony’s Oil of Morocco (OOM) Range is formulated to lock in moisture to give your hair a healthy shine. On the left, OOM Argan Oil Volume Shine Hairspray nourishes and styles your hair at once. (53ml, $6,90). OOM Argan Oil 3x Volume Cream (175ml, $18.90) gives you thicker, fuller with extra hold and shine and is said to last 3 days or until your next wash – not recommended for you to test it out in 3 days in Singapore’s humid weather! Lol. The OOM Argan Oil Treatment ($18.90) is a must have product to use while your hair is still damp, apply on hands and spread all over your hair – this will help to smoothen ends and prep and protect the hair for the next step when you add cream to style your hair – this is totally new to me and something I learnt from the workshop! You can also opt to use OOM Argan Oil 3 Day Smooth Perfect Blow Dry Cream (200ml, $18.90) for frizz free and shiny hair for up to 3 days. I would peronally opt for this because my hair is prone to frizziness. Marc Anthony Singapore Blogger Workshop Product Review 012

Additional to the range are the Bye Bye Frizz Keratin Smoothing Blow Dry Cream – this is recommended for hair that’s brittle as the Keratin Smoothing will help to strengthen the hair – and Strictly Curls Curl Envy Perfect Curl Cream (gosh, 3 curls in one name!) $18.90 which is a best seller.

Here are more of the ranges that you might be keen to check out:
