A few months back I had the pleasure to attend Benefit’s Roller Lash media launch as Leanne’s plus 1 and it was a blast having our hair styled, watching a retro themed dance, magic performance and last but not the least experiencing the Roller Lash which is great for asian straight thin lashes as it gives extra length and curl without the weight down! If you’ve read my post “8 Beauty Features for This CNY” earlier this year, you’d know that I started taking IMEDEEN Time Perfection skin supplements after reading up and finding mostly positive recommendations online. So after taking them for 3 months, here’s my review!

As for my review today, I was convinced to give IMEDEEN tablets a try after reading this really convincing review on MakeupAlley:

After taking IMEDEEN Time Perfection tablets for 3 months, I can see that my facial skin is fuller and firmer. My face, especially my forehead looks plumper and healthy. To illustrate how I feel about my skin after taking IMEDEEN Time Perfection tablets, see these images and writeup (provided by IMEDEEN):

The images above are taken from one of the scientific studies carried out on IMEDEEN. They confirm what’s happening in the invisible dermal layer of the skin and clearly show improvements after 3 and 6 months of use.

The top black line depicts the outer layer of the skin, also called the epidermis. Below this is the supportive layer – the dermis. The coloured elements represent collagen, elastin, and moisture retaining elements present in the dermis. A high concentration and distribution of dark coloured elements indicates a good skin condition.

My nails are also growing out to be stronger and they no longer chip easily. Thankfully I did not experience any weight gain due to the taking of these pills. Personally I am always interested to explore anti-ageing beauty / skincare products and supplements, so I wanted to give Time Perfection tablets and try and see its effectiveness. And I am happy to report that this product has worked for me and I will definitely consider this product as a collage supplement when I’m in my 30s. The recommended age for IMEDEEN Time Perfection tablets is 35+ so I am technically still young for it as I’m turning 25 this year.

I personally also prefer taking this tablet skincare over collagen drink. The recommended intake is 2 tablets once a day. It comes in a box which lasts 30 days/1 month and the recommended course to see effects is 90 days. A box currently costs S$101.05 which works out to $3.40 daily, which is about the price of a collagen drink or cheaper. I would opt for these tablets over the drinks because I feel that these are more fuss free compared to drinking the collagen drink and definitely much more compact to bring around when travelling or even when buying them home (of course unless you buy online and opt for home delivery than its not an issue)!

Latest Beauty Trends @ Beauty Asia’s 19th Trade Exhibition for Beauty, Spa & Health

As a beauty enthusiast, I couldn’t miss the offer for a preview tour of Beauty Asia, a B2B tradeshow when it was here in Singapore, Suntec back in early Jan. I met up with Leanne for the tour and we met Vinna who was attending to a booth during the fair. One of Leanne’s favourite was Hakuhodo, a Japanese brush brand. I was fascinated with the Korean salmon roe luxurious golden eye patch, we also tried rose extract and checked out the self care radiofrequency treatment by Habalan which is apparently really popular in Korea… this technology is apparently not available to the mass consumers in Singapore yet! We were also quite impressed with Cailyn (nope, not Caitlyn as in Caitlyn Jenner), a new US makeup brand and of course the elaborate nail art artworks during the competition was quite remarkable too.

We had a great time listening to them share their skincare and makeup tips. I’d personally go for the Rose Garden, only because I already have a pink eyeshadow set at home – plus the coral colour for the Rose Garden set is UNIQUE.

These chuby Bling Bling eyeshadow pens caught my eyes!!! I’d opt for Ivory Baby (middle colour) but I decided to go with a Play 101 Pencil in 4 which is a off white colour! Sorry forgot to snap a photo, but you’ll see it in my product photos later below. 🙂

Here’s a Sweet Catcher, which you can use 1 pink coin for 1 turn. I was super duper blessed and got a $50 voucher.

Close Ups:

Swatches, these colours are slightly pastel when swatched, and even more pastel when applied on the lips – at least for the coral one which I have tried. I like Jete Pink and En Haute Pink cause I am naturally drawn to pinks as they are more wearable for daily use and I shall stop obsessing over dark pinks (the Arabesque Pink which I have 101 similar colours at home)! This collection of lipsticks are more matte in texture and thus not as moisturizing as the typical Dear My Wish Lips Talk collection. BUT OH SO CUTE CASING. I have this urge to go and buy another lipstick (after visiting the new store 2 times in 3 days) just because, you know, cute casing. SIGH. #lipstickobsession #suckerforcutepackaging

I like the Eye & Cheek blusher in this no3. Arabesque Rosy too!

SO, my second time in the store on Sunday, I GOT THE LAST Eye & Cheek in no.5 in En Haute Pink. LAST PIECE = DESTINY. (Even thought I quite clearly liked no.3 the first time I went. Girls.)

I forgot to snap a picture of the brush sample, but the brush from this collection is also out of stock! So fans will have to hope and wait for restock, if any!

There’s 2 sets of nail colours for this collection too! I picked out the Peach set. 🙂

Today I want to share about GLAMGLOW’s PowerMud Dual Cleanse Treatment, which I was introduced to when they launched at Escentials (a long time back, #blogdebt, hurrr)!

GlamGlow Masks are created by husband and wife team Glenn and Shannon Dellimore, it’s supposedly originally designed for exclusive professional backstage use in Hollywood and was only made available to consumers worldwide in 2011.

The introduction of GlamGlow PowerMud comes after their YouthMud (Tingling and Exfoliating treatment), SuperMud (Clearing treatment) and ThirstyMud (Hydrating treatment). They also have a BrightMud Eye treatment~

Food & HicJuice – raw organic and cold pressed drink, super yummy!

The GlamGlow PowerMud. It’s a mix of both Claymud and Teaoxi aka green tea Oil so it promises to – cleanse, nourish, detox, purify and renew – deeply yet gently cleanses the skin. It smells amazing because of fragrant plant extracts which includes apple, so I really love the smell of the mask itself and when its on my skin. There will be an initial warmth feel after application but it does not get irritable. After removal, skin feels velvety smooth. I left the mask on for 20 minutes and removed it with running water quite easily even though it dried on my face. It doesn’t feel like it soaks up the oil and dirt and cleanse my face like other clay masks I’ve tried because of the oil extract, so it feels more gentle and nourishing. 1. What made you start your beauty blog?

I started Enabalista in end 2010 when I was still a Fashion Media & Industries (Management) student in LASALLE and wanted to share my behind the scenes photos and review of Fashion Week in Singapore. Then I also decided to include skincare reviews when I signed up to receive and review products from Sample Store. Although I have since stopped reviewing products sent from Sample Store (I had a clause that I could only review a certain’s brand products when I was representing them as their digital ambassador), that was I started my Lifestyle; Fashion, Beauty & more blog. 🙂

2. What are 3 of your must-have beauty items?

1. CC Cushion Compact – Laneige or TheFaceShop Sunscreen Cushion (the colour matches my skin to a T)

2. Lip Balm – Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour

Definitely putting on moisturizer and sunblock. That’s 2 steps, I know. 😛

5. What would your dream job be and why?

Business owner, selling products, bringing joy to others and earning money even while I am on my holiday (the business doesn’t stop when I’m travelling)! 😀

I’m not really good with Mascaras and Falsies! I don’t apply them often, so I take super long, 15-30 minutes to put them on.

Currently Long. 🙂

This is a tough one! I have a lot more makeup products than skincare items, because I usually use up my skincare products as I use them on a almost daily basis, while I use my makeup products on a rotation basis. I will have to go with, I rather lose my skincare items and I will buy the few important products I use on a daily basis. 😛

Earlier this year I received a box of love from Net-a-Porter with two beauties from Charlotte Tilbury, namely the Fallen Angel Smokey Eye Palette and the Rock N Kohl Eye Pencil.

My first look using Charlotte Tilbury Smokey Eyeshadow Fallen Angel Palette & Rock & Kohl Eye Pencil. I dusted the light peach over my upper eyelids, coloured in the light brown from the inner corners of the eyes, ended off with the dark golden brown and black and drew in the cat eye tips using the eyeliner. I fell in love with this eyeshadow palette’s fine powder yet awesome pigmentation and beautiful colours. With primer and foundation as the base, the Rock & Kohl eyeliner lasted the entire day and didn’t smudge. However on other tries, I realized that if I didn’t have proper primer or foundation, the eye liner will smudge in our humid Singapore weather. I paired it with a bright pink lip colour for a contemporary and feminine look.Another look I created with Charlotte Tilbury Smokey Eyeshadow Fallen Angel Palette & Rock & Kohl Eye Pencil for the recent Singapore Fashion Week. This time I upped the dramatic factor by going for a heavier smokey eye effect before drawing in thicker cat eye effect with the eye pencil. I used a scarlet red lipstick (Elizabeth Arden’s Scarlet) for a classic look.

Tighten and Lift Skin with Le Coffret CosmeLED French’s Best Anti-Ageing Skincare Routine

It’s been a while since I last blogged about a new skincare product and routine and here’s something that I’ve been trying out of late. 🙂

EstheClinic Paris is a French group of aesthetic and anti-ageing clinics at the forefront of technology and directly inspired by aesthetic medicine. Their treatments combine high technology procedures with cosmeceuticals such as hair removal, anti-ageing and body contouring. The group is founded by French doctors and they are always involved in developing procedures and cosmeceuticals and the follow up of the treatments. They are also the manufacturer of cosmetics, highly effective and innovative skincare that’s 100% Made in France.

They have recently opened their first aesthetic clinic in Singapore at Tras Street.

I was sent a box of their Le Coffret CosmeLED, a unique anti-ageing kit that leaves the skin looking radiant, firmer and younger. In case you’re wondering what the name means, “Le Coffret” stands for jewel box, so it’s essentially saying its a precious box of skincare. It’s inspired by aesthetic medicine and includes innovative cosmeceuticals and micro-needle device that acts in synergy to reverse the signs of ageing:

Le DermaBooster – celluar stimulation device, to firm and tone the skin
Le Serum – global anti-ageing skincare, for a radiant and even skin
La Creme – lifting and firming cream to tighten the skin

Detailed product write up and ingredient list of each product on the back of the box.

Directions of how to use the products.

1) Le DermaBooster – Roll the head gently over the facial areas 5 times in each direction, 2-3 times a week (every other day). On clean face, before the Serum and Creme.

2) Le Serum – use once or twice a day in the morning and/or evening. One drop and gently tap into skin with fingertips.

Translucent, lightweight serum that smells like peach. 🙂

Applies clear and leaves skin hydrated.

La Creme – Use morning and evening, after La Serum. (There’s a mistake on the print saying use before, but should be after the serum).

A pretty consistent white creme.Take about a minute to gently massage the creme into the skin before it’s absorbed.

It takes a while to get used to this Anti-ageing kit, I was quite apprehensive of using the Le DermaBooster with all the micro-needles on my facial skin – so I started on my clean hands, followed by my chin and lower face. What this product does is massaging and activating the facial nerves and will be particularly helpful to firm and tone up older, sagging skin. See here and here. It’s important to keep the needles clean by washing and drying them regularly. My favourite of the kit has to be the serum – I use one generous drop over my face at night and apply the creme and it keeps my face radiant, brighter and clearer (from blemishes) the next morning. I also really like the peach scent. The Creme is a little too rich for my preference, I prefer water based moisturizer, however when I tested on my lower face / neck area it didn’t break me out so I have tried it on my face – it does leave my face a little tighter after. So this would be great for skin that requires a little lift. This Le Coffret CosmeLED is definitely something to try out if you’re looking for a tightening and lifting home skincare routine!

Hi Loves!

~~I think by now you’re probably used to my super belated (read: embarrassingly late) event blog posts/updates.~~

Singapore Blog Awards 2014 took place last August… I have a ton of event updates and I’ve got to start somewhere, so I guess here’s a good one to begin with? 😛

It’s nice to see that most, if not all the bloggers and I still look pretty much the same except for changes in hairstyles! I guess that’s why it’s nice to take photographs now and then, to track changes in our styles. 🙂

I’m glad I took part in Singapore Blog Awards because I got to meet up with other fellow beauty bloggers who are so much fun to be with because we share the same interest in skincare, makeup and blogging! So there’s always endless conversations and we really learn a lot from one another, like product reviews, PR practices and even digital softwares that help us to blog or Instagram better! 😉

My Favourite Daily Wear Lipsticks

Today I’d like to share 5 of my favourite daily wear lipsticks… I use these lipsticks on rotation.

From Left to Right: Etude House Dear My Wish Lipstick in PK001, Chanel Rouge Allure Fougueuse (138), Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Colour Moisturizing Lipstick Pink Punch 30, Etude House Etoinette Crystal Shine in PRD301, Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Shine 320 Surreal Sun.

Yes you’ll notice that the bullets are quite similar in colour, ranging from pink to orangey red. You know how when you like something, like denim top, you end up buying and having several different type of denim tops? I tend to veer towards pink and orangey reds that complements an everyday natural look for work while still having a visible and vibrant colour. 🙂

Swatches! I arranged the colours from the pinkest to red to orangey red. I tend to use Etude House Lipsticks a lot because the colours are very sweet and natural, moisturizing plus the packaging is really cute. All of these lipsticks have great pigmentation, I usually just use one coat (and touch up when necessary) although for events I’d go for double coat for longer wear. Chanel lipstick has a push and pop secure lock which is pretty cool whilst the Estee Lauder has a magnetic lock. I also prefer this older series for Estee Lauder which has a slimmer casing. Of these 5, Elizabeth Arden’s lipstick is the newest so I haven’t used it much, its similar to Etude House’s PK001, but darker that’s why I like it too, haha!

Spring Time with Manicure Mermaid Nails

Well, this is embarrassing… Super late post of my not so recent CNY/Spring inspired gel nails from my last visit to Manicure Mermaid! I saw Sharlene’s super cute sheep nails so I requested her to do one for me too~ 😀 My nails received a lottt of compliments and many people remarked that the sheep are super cute. 🙂 They gel nails lasted me a whopping 1.5 months, it’s super awesome! Fresh L.A. Look with Chez Vous Hair

Hi Loves!

A while back I headed back to Chez Vous for a new look, I didn’t have any particular look in mind and just trusted hair stylist Jamie to do what she’s good at. 😉 She told me that I’d look good with blond highlights, so I just went ahead with it! Very adventurous, I know. I very surprised by the look at first because I wasn’t used to the blond / ash highlights. But majority of my friends remarked that its a fresh new look and that they like this look… I sorta feel like Elsa (more specifically should be the younger sister Anna, hahaha) from the Disney animated movie, Frozen. I think that with this look, I feel like an L.A. girl, if I may say so myself, LOL.

Marie France Bodyline PRO-FREEZE Review

Recently I had the pleasure to visit Marie France Bodyline to try out their PRO-FREEZE treatment, which is a new treatment that uses fat-freezing technology to safely and effectively remove unwanted fat cells.

How PRO-FREEZE works is exposing the fat cells to an extreme cold temperature, causing them to be frozen and degenerated. These degenerated fat cells will be eliminated from the body via the body’s own metabolism system and can be permanently remove up to 25% of the unwanted fat in a single treatment session, thereby reducing the thickness of the fat layer. It’s an alternative to liposuction and is most effective for areas such as tummy, waist (love handles), hips (saddle backs) and inner thighs.

It is said that visible result in loss of fat can be seen in 3 weeks following the treatment, with more significant results shown between 3 – 6 months. People with major serious illness and sensitive to extreme coldness or pregnant are not suitable to undergo PRO-FREEZE.

The entire PRO-FREEZE treatment takes about 45-60 minutes. After a quick consultation with the staff, I decided to try out the treatment on my back thighs, the starting 5-10 minutes was very cold and I could feel the strong suction from the machine. After that, my body was accustomed to the cold sensation and suction and I was just resting head down on the bed while the PRO-FREEZE machine did all the fats-busting work on my thighs, hahaha! The staff applied a very generous amount of gel and a gel layer on my skin before attaching the machine, which she says, helps to cushion my skin from the extreme cold. After the treatment, the area was very cold and I was a bit worried that the cold will result in condensation and causing an unsightly wet patch on the dress I was wearing, but it didn’t. 🙂 However there was some residual gel left at my lower thighs, so I advise a thorough wipe down after the session. 😉 I was advised to drink 2 litres of water for the following 3-4 days and to also follow up for 2-3 sessions for the most optimum results.

The MFB staff that attended to my also mentioned that Fann Wong enjoyed this treatment after her pregnancy to regain her svelte figure. I would recommend this treatment for a fuss free fat removing experience. 🙂

Brighter and Hydrated skin from within with Laneige Collagen Drink

You’ve probably seen me posting about LANEIGE’s Collagen Drink on Instagram and in my previous post here. In this post, I’m giving an updated review. 😉

Come 31st March, LANEIGE will be launching their Collagen Drink. Sourced from tilapia fish, each bottle contains 5000mg of collagen peptide which is the amount that is used each day, and thus to be replenished. This drink promises to help brighten, hydrate and smoothen skin. It’s free from artificial colouring, preservatives and sugar and has the lowest amount of calories at only 105KJ. In addition to fish collagen, the drink also has vitamin C which helps to stimulate collagen synthesis and brighten the skin. It also has red orange extract and pomegranate extract, these two ingredients has powerful antioxidative effects and pleasant fruity flavours.

Definitive Yet Feminine Eyebrow Embroidery with Browtisan

If our eyes are the windows to our soul, then I suppose our eyebrows are the window frames to our soul! I don’t know about you, but ever since I’ve started putting on makeup and drawing on my eyebrows, I can’t help but notice people’s eyebrows when I meet them. I always appreciate a thick yet defined set of eyebrows, and personally don’t fancy messy, unruly eyebrows or thin and sparse eyebrows with no defined shape.

How I usually draw my eye brows on… 🙂

You might not know this, but I got an injury that cut through my left eyebrow when I was 15, while foolishly “free-cycling” (read: cycling with my hands off the handle bars) while going down a slope. And for that ~~silliness~~ bravado, I have a ~~broken~~ badass left eyebrow, like yunno, the kind Korean actor Key has as well:

Well, I’m not Key or a guy for that matter and scars don’t look half as cool on me as it does on him. I prefer to have full and feminine brows! In addition to the eyebrow scars, I also generally have quite sparse eyebrows… So much so that towards the end of the brows, they’re almost missing. Like this:

So a while back, I popped by Browtisan’s again (See my first post on eyelash extension here) for an eyebrow embroidery session. And here’s how it went!

First of all, Coco and I had a chat, she wanted to know what image I wanted and she also gave her expertise as to what eyebrows would suit me. I told her that I like the current thick and straight Korean eyebrow trend and have been sporting it for a while now. Like this:

She then advised me to get a more feminine set of brows without the edge that I usually draw in for my mid brows. Something like this which looks more feminine:

So after the little chat, she proceeded to draw on the eyebrows which she designed for me and asked me if I was happy with it. I love the new set of eyebrows she designed for me and then we proceeded to the next step, which is to apply anaesthetic cream before the embroidery:

Then the embroidery session took place. If you’re worried about the pain like I am, don’t be. I have very little tolerance for pain and it didn’t hurt due to the anaesthetic cream. For the most part of the session, it feels like a pin is scratching against your skin. When it did start to hurt towards the end of the embroidery after the effect of the cream is starting is wear off, I told Coco about the pain and she proceeded to apply more anaesthetic cream before resuming again. 🙂 Then there’s application of colouring to darken the embroidered brows:

After the embroidery session, I had to apply a gel on for the next 5 days and also prevent my eyebrows from getting wet when I shower. This is so that the embroidered eyebrow lines won’t get infection and also last longer. Also given is a helpful After Care Tips to follow up on: This is how it looks like with the sticker film on my eyebrows before shower:

How my brows look like in the first 5 days with the gel on, which totally reminded me of Spring Summer 2013 Wet Hair runway fashion trend, albeit on the eyebrows, haha. Who knows, maybe that’s gonna be Spring Summer 2016 Wet Eyebrows look eh? 😉
