MTG’s ReFa S Carat & Plosion

Hi Loves!

MTG should not be new to you as I’ve previously featured MTG’s ReFa Carat Facial & Body Massager on my blog post here. So, a while back, I was invited again for their bloggers’ & media preview as MTG launched in Singapore, their ReFa S Carat which is a smaller, sleeker version of the ReFa Carat, as well as Plosion carbonated mist set, which is a beauty product coming from Japan, more of that below!

MTG ReFa S Carat 001ReFa S Carat is more suitable as a facial massage – for the nose, cheeks, side of face – as compared to the bigger ReFa Carat. Priced at S$220. For more information and to purchase, visit their Singapore site here.
MTG Plosion 001Here, the MTG Singapore director is giving a demo of MTG products on the model. Always remarkable when he works on one side of the face to show the difference from the other! I suggest that you pop by one of their stores and test it out for yourself. 😉

MTG Plosion 003

Now on to MTG’s PLOSION – it’s designed for convenience and functionality, the PLOSION diffuser has a portable compact body capable of emitting a small but powerful jet of carbonated mist containing three times the average concentration of carbonic acid. Carbonic acid has emerged as a new beauty trend in Japan and the treatment aims to give your skin a healthy dose of hydration, anytime anywhere.

Before I attended this media preview session, I was honestly clueless about carbonic acid because well, it’s not something that’s popular in Singapore – at least something that I was unaware about! So I did some research about it before the event and I was quite surprised with the results I found, namely that it’s already super popular in Japan. And the MTG staff told us that they have already introduced Plosion way back in 2008 in Japan(!) and the version that they are now introducing in Singapore is already quite advanced.

So more about Carbonic Acid, taken from this JapanHotNow article dated from 2013:

Best-selling ingredient #1
Carbonic acid: From food to cosmetics!

Carbonic acid has taken Japan’s health and beauty scene by storm in the last several years. The trend started with popular carbonated-water diets and moved to a huge boom in carbonated bath salts, hair and scalp treatments, and now cosmetics!

Carbonic acid lifts dirt from pores, promotes healthy circulation, and more. Blood circulation in the skin is what promotes cell turnover, which has a host of skin benefits–including fighting dullness and spots as well as combatting sagging and swelling.

Sounds amazing, huh? How come I haven’t heard of it earlier in Singapore? HAHA.

The PLOSION Carbonated Mist Handy set comes with:

1x Carbonated Mist Diffuser
2x PLOSION Face Essential Lotion (13ml) (S$79 each for refills)
1x CO2 Cartridge (S$20 each for refills)
Retail price: S$399
Available in 3 colours, silver, white & dark red.
For more information and to purchase, visit the site here.

MTG Plosion 004 MTG Plosion 005 MTG Plosion 006I’ve tried the Plosion product, it definitely feels very refreshing and moisturizing. It’s supposed to also be able to lift sagging skin, although I won’t be able to tell or see the difference. The product should last you about 30 days if you use it daily, refills would cost about $99. It’s definitely a product targeted at the more mature crowd, considering the product features and price point!
MTG Plosion 007Also loving the media preview space at Cosentino gallery, more of the space in another blog post!

Thank you MTG Singapore  & Touch PR for the invite & ReFa S Carat!

Singapore Fashion Week 2015 Recap

Hi loves!

Well you’ve probably seen my IG updates from months back when I attended a few shows from Singapore Fashion Week, mostly the young designers show, namely LASALLE Graduation show & Harpers Bazaar Next Gen show. Also attended the Star Creation & Zalora shows but did not manage to snap any nice photos so there’s none from those shows for this post~ 😛

While I definitely enjoyed both LASALLE Grad show and Harpers Bazaar Next Gen show – I find that LASALLE show designs focused more on artistic concepts & were more explorative, understandably as it’s an arts school (and my Alma mater, where I studied Fashion Media & Industries, majoring in Management), while Harpers’ show designs were a lot more “commercialized”, collections that look like they already belonged in the store. There’s no critical judgement from me either ways, as I would love to have pieces from select designers (you’ll know which from my comments/captions below, heh) from both shows in my wardrobe!

Alright, enough with my introductions~2015-05-14 08.54.51 2015-05-14 08.54.53 2015-05-14 08.54.55 2015-05-14 08.54.56Loving my make up for the day, hence the slew of selfies, heh. Am missing my hair from those days before I bleached it. Lol.
2015-05-14 09.37.58Getting ready to meet my inspiration, Miroslava Duma. In case you don’t know her, she was a fashion magazine editor, currently a street style icon and founder of buro247.com – which is now present in more than 7-8 countries featuring luxury fashion and lifestyle topics. She’s extremely well connected, business minded and savvy! While she still look like a teenager, she’s in her thirties and she has 2 kids! Don’t ask me how she does it!

2015-05-14 23.28.40Met up with Sifra my LASALLE school mate & Smita for the talk!
2015-05-14 10.25.37The emcee did such a bad job honestly. Her questions were so bad, some didn’t even make sense. It would have been much better if Duma and Dion Lee interviewed each other. It was such a waste that we did not get to hear more from the two of them as the questions were a waste of time/did not make sense.2015-05-14 23.35.44Nonetheless, with the little that was shared, it was inspiring to hear from Duma, who shared about having good work ethics – you’ve got to work for it, don’t expect things to drop down from the sky!
2015-05-14 11.13.26-2And got a pic with her!!! <3 Thanks to Smita! <3

2015-05-14 14.15.59Snapped a pic of this dude with this crazy and cool tiger head bag.

2015-05-15 21.10.02Headed to Chez Vous to get my hair done for Star Creation later in the evening. Belatedly realize that I should have gone for sleek back hair since I was wearing a rather edgy dress. Ohwells!
2015-05-14 22.25.20With cuties Q-li & Jem whom I met at SFW!

Day 2 of SFW, decided to have my hair done at the salon near my place before heading down!

And after it’s done, selfie taken on the cab! Decided to go for a very defined and red carpet-style hair and makeup look. Sleek hair back is actually no longer on trend since it’s been done 2-3 years back, but who cares as long as I like the look, heh!

Depend GelLack Start Kit for Safe & Easy Gelish Nails

Hi Loves!

Are you a gelish nail fan? Ever wished you could apply gelish nails in the comfort of your home at your own time and pace, without having to book a slot at your usual nail salon?  Or wished that you can enjoy the longevity of gelish nails without damaging your nails with all that buffing? Well, now your wishes are fulfilled with Depend’s GelLack home salon kit!

Depend Gellack Start Kit Home Nail Salon 003Depend GelLack Start Kit

Depend Gellack Start Kit Home Nail Salon 001 Comes with before/after cleanser, base coat, top coat, orange wood cuticle stick, nail file and an LED Lamp, to be used with GelLack colour (sold separately) for a high shine finish that lasts 2-3weeks. Depend Gellack Start Kit Home Nail Salon 002The LED lamp is easy to use and comes equipped with a timer – both stregthens and dries the nails within minutes, leaving an extremely durable surface.

Additional benefits of the Depend GelLack system:

1.         Most gel nail application requires the surface to be buffed first, resulting in thinning and brittleness of the nails. However, GelLack doesn’t require buffing, as curing the polish under the LED lamp smoothens it out to achieve a shiny, ridgeless look (also good news for people who cannot paint nails very evenly with their non-dominant hand). Since it is equipped with an LED lamp and not a UV lamp, the curing and drying process is quicker (30 seconds) and kinder to the nails.

 2.         Plus, once the nail polish is cured, there is no drying time (YES, THE BEST!).

3.         The removal process is the key highlight of GelLack’s system, as it requires only GelLack’s Remover Oil and warm water. Most (if not all) gel nail removal requires an acetone soak, which dehydrates the nails. The remaining polish is literally scraped and buffed off, which usually leads to damaged, brittle nails. However, GelLack only requires you to massage the oil into the nails, after which you place the nails in warm water (about 40 degrees) for about 5 minutes or so (depending on how long your manicure has been left on. If you’ve left on the manicure for less than three weeks, leave it in warm water for 7 – 10 minutes) and the nail polish can be peeled off with your fingers or with a cuticle stick, causing no damage to the surface.

 4.         If there is an event in which your current gel nails don’t match your outfit, you can paint them over with regular nail polish and remove it afterwards with acetone – the gel nails will not be affected! 🙂

Depend GelLack Start Kit retails at Watsons for S$99.00 and additional colours at S$13.90 each. Highly recommended for gelish nails lovers!

Thank you Depend Cosmetics Singapore and Chen Ting of Mediaflair comms for the kit for review! It’s taking me forever to actually get down to reviewing the kit as I’m usually with gelish nails, but I will update again either on the blog or on my IG once I have tried the kit!

OSEA Natural Skincare Range

Hi Loves!

Are you a fan of natural skincare? Then you’ll be happy to know about OSEA Natural Skincare Range which I will be reviewing in this blog post! OSEA is an acronym for Ocean Sun Earth Atmosphere and founded by Jenefer Palmer, she created OSEA in tribute to her family’s holistic healing practices and belief that nature heals the body permanently and is quite popular with celebrities in the USA. You can read more about her interview with Urbanette here.

Thanks to Helen of Pure Tincture for sending me these 5 products from the OSEA Natural Skincare range:

OSEA Natural Skincare Blogger Review 003OSEA’s Ocean Cleanser, Sea Minerals (Toner), Atmosphere Protection Cream, Vitamin Sea Serum & Black Algae Mask.
OSEA Natural Skincare Blogger Review 002Beginning the skincare range would be OSEA’s Ocean Cleanser. This is my favourite product amongst the range as I love the scent of this cleanser which has a lemon-y/citrus-y scent that smells oh-so-refreshing! This cleanser is suitable for dry, normal & combination skin types, free of chemical surfactants and great for light makeup removal. Also pH balanced.
OSEA Natural Skincare Blogger Review 005 Next in the range is OSEA’s Sea Minerals Mist. This product is formulated to be an ideal delivery system for healing nutrients and antioxidants, Sea Minerals promotes skin’s natural ability to absorb moisture and oxygenate. USDA certified organic Patagonian seaweed extracts and Dead Sea Crystals provide a thorough therapeutic mineral treatment. Helps restore mineral balance to sun-damaged skin and reduces redness, tightness and inflammation. A quick spritz helps seal makeup against humidity. This toner is known to be a moisture rich, refreshing toner that is especially great for those who’s been exposed under the sun, like after a day at the beach. I recommend this toner for dry, combination and sun-damaged skin. What I don’t like about this toner is the green colour which looks artificial and odd, however considering this range is all natural, I accrue the green colour to the Patagonian seaweed extracts and Dead Sea Crystals.OSEA Natural Skincare Blogger Review 001For Moisturizer, we have OSEA’s Atmosphere Protection Cream, which is my second favourite in the range.  Described as a lightweight moisturizer that protects skin from dehydration and damage from environmental aggressors. The super emollient algae base ensures instantaneous absorption while the advanced blend of dermal proteins increases elasticity and leaves a matte, silky finish. An amazing, invisible base for makeup application.  What I like about this moisturizer is it’s smooth texture and natural, moisturizing finish,
OSEA Natural Skincare Blogger Review Swatches 005The OSEA’s Atmosphere Protection Cream when dispensed on the skin, is gel like in consistency and milky in colour.
OSEA Natural Skincare Blogger Review Swatches 002After spreading out, OSEA’s Atmosphere Protection Cream is rich and moisturizing, leaving a healthy, natural shine.
OSEA Natural Skincare Blogger Review 004Next up we have OSEA’s Vitamin Sea Serum! This serum is touted to be an easily absorbed, potent serum that contains an anti-aging blend of seven organic seaweed extracts in a hydrating Hyaluronic Acid base. Packed with powerful antioxidants including Ferulic Acid, Turmeric, and Walnut Seed and Green Tea extracts, this serum will plump up moisture-depleted skin and restore a youthful glow. This is another favourite of mine in the range, I like this Vitamin Sea Serum for days when I feel that my skin is a little dull and needs a boost to look healthy and glowing.
OSEA Natural Skincare Blogger Review Swatches 001OSEA’s Vitamin Sea Serum is bright yellow and has a mid watery-gel consistency, gentle spread it out on the skin and pat it with finger tips and cover with palms until the serum is fully absorbed into the skin. Whilst it’s recommended for all skin types on their site, I recommend it more for dry skin, mature skin, fatigue skin, sun-damaged skin or skin that was exposed to the sun.
OSEA Natural Skincare Blogger Review 006Last but not the least, we have OSEA’s Black Algae Mask that promises to detoxify, stimulate circulation and exfoliates. This concentrated formula stimulates circulation and brightens your complexion. Black marine silt and pure fig extract contain deep-cleansing enzymes for your skin while micro black jojoba spheres provide a gentle granular exfoliation. I’m telling you, this mask is really quite the bomb. After a mere recommended 10 minutes application on my skin (no rubbing or extra effort required) and washing it out, my skin was RED. I was quite shocked as this has never happened to me before in my 25 years alive, after masking. In my worry of it being some kind of allergy reaction, I quickly went to google and found out that it’s a normal reaction to the mask which dies down after 45min and the morning after, it gives a healthy natural glow. Well of course not everyone may experience redness of skin due to the mask stimulating blood circulation, but if you have very dull facial skin and is desperately in need of some natural flush and colour, I highly recommend the use of this mask on a weekly basis. Suitable for all skin except for super sensitive skin.OSEA Natural Skincare Blogger Review Swatches 004OSEA’s Black Algae mask is rich in black marine silt and pure fig extract that contain deep-cleansing enzymes for your skin while micro black jojoba spheres provide a gentle granular exfoliation.

Just a note that OSEA’s Natural skincare range contains botanical oils (lots of different types of seed oils). These work to restore your skin’s balance and because they are noncomedogenic they do not clog your pores or cause breakouts. (Yay!) For more FAQ check out here.

In conclusion, I can see how OSEA natural skincare range will be popular in Singapore due to our sunny weather, I especially recommend this range and products especially for those exposed under the sun, like swimmers and athletes. Also, if you are trying out natural skincare for the first time, take note that natural skincare products and ranges usually take a while longer (2 weeks at least) to see more obvious effects on your skin, especially if you’re used to “instant” effect products which are popular in the market. However after the few weeks, you’ll appreciate the natural goodness and its effects on your skin.

Hydrate your skin for longer with Goodal Moisture Barrier Range

Edit, Update: Thank you all for taking part in the giveaway, I have picked Xin Xuan from the blog comment. 🙂

Hi Loves!

Are you looking for a moisturizing skincare range that is able to hydrate your skin for a long period of time?  Or do you feel that your skin is dry and dehydrated despite frequent application of moisturizers? It might mean that your skin barrier is damaged. Then you’ll be interested to read about my review of Goodal’s Moisture Barrier Range & their Phytowash cleanser!

Goodal is a skincare brand from Korea that focuses on natural ingredients in their skincare. Goodal is introducing its latest Moisture Barrier Range consisting of four different skincare essentials designed to repair the moisture barrier to keep skin plump and hydrated. The range is formulated with two main ingredients – Mistletoe Moisture Barrier Complex, that repairs the barrier and Mt. Seorak Water, which replenishes moisture in the skin to allow for a radiant complexion providing a defense against moisture loss by maintaining skin’s moisture barrier while actively hydrating the skin.

Goodal Moisture Barrier Range Enabalista Beauty Blogger Review 001Goodal’s Moisture Barrier Range & Phytowash cleanser

Goodal PhytowashGoodal’s Phytowash comes with a very user friendly dispenser, the foamy cleanser is soft, fine and gentle on the skin. It contains fine grains that exfoliates dead skin cells, Inca omega oil and Murumuru butter that balances the oil and water on dry skin, leaving skin hydrated even after the wash. It also contains Yerba Mate, a type of herb with polyphenol (micronutrients), saponin (natural soap), vitamins and green tea that maintains bright and healthy skin. I enjoy using this cleanser, I recommend it as a daily cleanser or you can also use it as a night cleanser, as it’s great for cleansing and exfoliating after a long day.

Now on to Goodal’s Moisture Barrier Range!
As mentioned, this range is formulated with two main ingredients – Mistletoe Moisture Barrier Complex, that repairs the barrier and Mt. Seorak Water, which replenishes moisture in the skin. More about them here:

1.        Mt Seorak Water

Found from the depths of 580m underground of Mt. Seorak, the 100% natural spring water contains 16 minerals including sodium, calcium and potassium that are known for their abilities to effectively moisturize the skin. These minerals assist in the process of effectively binding water with dehydrated skin cells and replenishes the skin’s moisture level for a radiant and well-hydrated skin.

2.         Mistletoe Moisture Complex Barrier

Able to bear fruit in below zero temperatures, the mistletoe plant is known for their strong endurance properties. This vitality is due to the presence of lectin (a type of protein found in plants), which promotes the secretion of cytokine, a category of smaller proteins which has been clinically proven to maintain skin homeostasis, an important process for skin renewal. Studies have shown that cytokines increases cell production and accelerates renewal of skin cells, making it suitable for use on damaged skin barriers.

Beginning with the first item in the range,
1. Goodal Moisture Barrier Liquid

Goodal Moisture Barrier Liquid 2

Goodal Moisture Barrier Liquid is highly concentrated with Mistletoe and Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF) with a thick texture with nutrients from toner, emulsion and essence.Goodal Moisture Barrier Liquid 3

Goodal Moisture Barrier Liquid is recommended for those with constant dry skin that needs lasting moisturizing or need to to revitalize fatigue skin from overworking, lack of sleep or stress.

Goodal Moisture Barrier Liquid 1Recommended usage after cleansing the face, dispense a small amount onto fingers and apply evenly on the face, tapping in to dry areas, wrap the face with your hands for absorption and finish off by massaging in the residue on the neck (no wastage!) 😉Goodal Moisture Barrier Liquid 4The Goodal Moisture Barrier Liquid is almost gel like in consistency since it’s highly concentrated. It’s said to be moist like toner, soft like emulsion and strong like essence. While you can use it on its own as an all in one for this range, I believe you can add on a FTE (First treatment essence) or skin prep product to prep the skin before using the Liquid.

2a. Goodal Moisture Barrier Cream
Next in the range we have the Goodal Moisture Barrier Cream with similar ingredients as the Liquid except with very different function, While the Liquid is used to hydrate the skin, the Cream with its balm like texture and vegetable butter ingredient, works to firmly wrap the skin with a glowing moisture barrier.

Goodal Moisture Barrier Cream 4
Goodal Moisture Barrier Cream 3Goodal Moisture Barrier Eyecream 2
Goodal Moisture Barrier Cream 6

The 3rd product in the range is
2b. Goodal Moisture Barrier Cream Fresh
is basically an alternative to the Cream. While the Cream is recommended for dry skin, Cream Fresh is for oily skin types. It has a snow-type texture (really does!) that melts into the skin and forms a refreshing moisture barrier. I love this product, the refreshing organic scent, snow like texture and how it keeps my skin hydrated for long hours through the night when I sleep and in the day while at work.

Goodal Moisture Barrier Cream Fresh 1 Goodal Moisture Barrier Cream Fresh 2 Goodal Moisture Barrier Cream Fresh 3 Goodal Moisture Barrier Cream Fresh 4

The last but not the least
3. Goodal Moisture Barrier Eyecream
keeps your eyes hydrated!

Goodal Moisture Barrier Eyecream 3Goodal Moisture Barrier Eyecream 1Always be gentle when you apply eyecream on your eyes. Dab gently under the eyes, above the eyes and the rest at the eyebrow bone.

Slimming Massage Treatment with NouriFBC

Hi Loves!

First slimming session at Nourifbc

Introduction to Slimming by Nouri Face and Body Concepts

I had the pleasure to experience’s Nouri Face & Body Concepts Slimming Massage treatment and I was told by Valerie, the beauty salon owner that this is a popular treatment with her clients as it’s part of the weight loss program that the award winning beauty salon offers and one of the best ways to lose weight easily without exercise for her clients.

Valerie says that many of her clients come to her while at a loss on how to lose the fat build up in their bodies, mainly because they do not have someone to keep them accountable on their weight loss journey, so she is able to provide them the regular checks and actions that will spur and motivate them towards their goals. Some of her clients are busy professionals with no time for exercise, so they appreciate this slimming massage treatment that can help them to lose weight without exercise.

The slimming treatment from NouriFBC consists of slimming massages that are specially formulated using unique body massage techniques that are able to bring about the numerous benefits found in the unique and herbal secret recipe creams that are applied onto the common problematic areas such as the waistline, abdomen, thighs and buttocks.

Seeing as how Valerie’s beauty salon has numerous positive testimonials and reviews, I wanted to find out first hand if the slimming massage therapy is effective or just one of those weight loss myths we see everywhere in Singapore today.

First slimming session at Nourifbc

Well of course I do know that I don’t have much excess weight to lose, however I was game to accept the slimming massage review assignment because I know that a properly done massage can help to tone up my tummy, thighs and especially my problem area, my arms. And of course, I wanted to know what’s in this slimming massage that will help people to lose weight without exercise.

The premises of Nouri Face and Body Concepts is airy with a cosy feel to it. The treatment rooms were equipped with machines that you’d find in most beauty salon establishments in Singapore
.
My impression after the thorough consultation with Valerie was that she has a wealth of experience as well as the necessary certifications and skills. She broke down the important details of how exactly one can obtain great results with a weight loss program using slimming massages as the key component.

According to her, it is firstly vital to have a realistic set of goals such as how much weight you plan to lose, and in which areas of your body. Secondly, your lifestyle and eating habits need some changes to achieve optimal results. No dieting is necessary, just a sensible meal plan is enough. And if you are able to take short walks to raise your metabolism, that would also contribute to the fat burning process and produce faster results.

Last but not least, the number of slimming massage sessions and the time between each session is critical. Many people assume that going for a session as and when they are in the mood will be just the same as going on a fixed schedule. The longer you wait between each session, the chances of fatty deposits hardening and forming cellulite increases.

In short, make small changes to what you eat and your daily activities while simultaneously going for the slimming massages is the best formula to seeing a trimmer figure and longer lasting results.

Valerie’s slimming massages are highly popular amongst women who have given birth and put on a significant amount of weight. That actually is harder to lose as compared to normal weight gain or excess fat. At this point, I’m pretty sure I’m in good hands and I tell Valerie to proceed with the treatment session.

Without further ado, let’s go through what steps took place during my own session at NouriFBC:

Steps of Slimming Massage treatment

Body brushing for Slimming

  1. Dry Body Brushing

This process helps in exfoliating the skin and it is also part of the process for a full body detox as the dry body brushing action removes toxins trapped and accumulated in our lymph nodes. It also opens the pores for the removal of wastes found in the blood stream. It is similar to having lymphatic drainage done, for full detoxification of your body’s lymph nodes.

Steam Blanket and Aromatic Compress For Slimming

  1. Steam Blanket and Aromatic Compress

The next step aids in creating perspiration,by using steam to unblock the pores of your skin which may be clogged with sweat, dirt, oil, body creams or perfume.

This important step is necessary to perform purges of the build up of toxins in the body.

This step also reduces water retention and the aromatic compress helps in the relief of muscular tension and regulates hormonal imbalance.

Fat Mobilisation Slimming massage treatment Fat Mobilisation Slimming massage treatment Fat Mobilisation Slimming massage treatment

  1. Fat Mobilisation

This step is done with the addition of the Exercise Slimming cream which doubles up the slimming process, making it more effective in breaking down stubborn fat. This massage also boosts sluggish blood circulation. The effect of this deep massaging helps to lift and tone saggy parts of body. Following which if you add on body care products such as body ampoules and creams, they are readily absorbed by the skin, hence producing more effective and visible results.

Red Ray Slimming Therapy Red Ray Slimming Therapy Nouri FBC Slimming Treatment Blogger Review 011

  1. Red Ray Slimming Therapy

The last but not the least part of the slimming massage is the red ray slimming therapy. This step helps indigestion and bloating as the red ray and heat removes trapped wind which builds up a weak constitution. It also accelerates the effect of the Fat Mobilization process.

Post Slimming Treatment Care

Post Slimming Treatment Care

It is recommended to bring a cardigan and leggings to keep yourself warm after the treatment and let your body continue the breaking down process of the fats. Valerie also has special inner wear for the ladies to wear and creams to apply while exercising to increase the effectiveness of the weight loss.

Conclusion:

Going through the above process and laying my thoughts out for this review made me realize that the steps all have their individual purposes as well as added enhancements that can aid the slimming process.

This does not seem to be a miracle treatment that over promises results, but rather a very well planned out treatment system that relies on each and every step being carried out perfectly to break down fat cells and reduce the amount of unhealthy weight in a person. I had an enjoyable experience that was both interesting and educational for me.

Thank you Valerie De Costa of Nouri Face & Body Concepts & for inviting me for this lovely Slimming Massage treatment. I thoroughly enjoyed my session with Valerie and trust her and her more than a decade’s experience and skills in assisting her clients to reach their target physique, health and weight.

Hearts & Lights Aglow this Christmas at ION Orchard

Hi Loves~

I was at ION Orchard’s media breakfast the other morning and my heart was warmed to hear about their Christmas initiatives!

ION Orchard Christmas 2015 006

In a nutshell, ION Orchard celebrates the season of giving in partnership with a dozen designer brands as part of its efforts to give back to the less privileged.

ION Orchard Christmas 2015 003

To mark the festivities, there will be 12 Christmas trees specially designed by key brands at ION Orchard; customised gift wrapping paper jointly designed by special needs students; and the mall’s outdoor space, ION² will be transformed into a glittering Christmas Garden.

ION Orchard Christmas 2015 004

The 12 designer trees of Christmas for charity

In a unique collaboration, 12 brands at ION Orchard will each offer its interpretation of Christmas with a specially designed exquisite 2.4-metre-tall Christmas tree. They are Alice + Olivia, Braun Büffel, Buben & Zorweg, Cortina Watch, Crate & Barrel, Diane Von Furstenberg, Ermenegildo Zegna, Kurt Geiger, Kwanpen, Moncler, Parfums Christian Dior and TWG Tea.

ION Orchard Christmas 2015 005The trees will be central to the mall’s fund-raising activities for Christmas, inspiring ION Orchard VIP members and loyal shoppers to open up their hearts and put in bids to adopt the tree or trees of their choice by using the iPad next to each tree. Bids start at S$8,000, with the highest bidder getting adoption and naming rights for each tree of their choice plus a token of appreciation from the respective brands and ION Orchard.

ION Orchard Christmas 2015 001ION Orchard’s traditional 20-metre outdoor tree will be given a sparkling makeover in the mall’s first partnership with Swarovski. It will be adorned with more than 28,000 crystals while its cavernous walk-in interior will dazzle visitors with a kaleidoscope of lights, mirrored ceilings and a rotating chandelier. This is also Swarovski’s first outdoor Christmas tree in Singapore.

At the heart of ION Orchard’s festive celebrations will be a series of fundraising activities to benefit the Community Chest, with proceeds going to the Rainbow Centre Yishun Park School.

In a partnership with NETS, shoppers can also make direct donations at several donation points near concierge counters at Basement 3 and, Levels 1 and 4.

Funds raised will go towards helping the Rainbow Centre Yishun Park School, under the care of Community Chest. Some 350 students will benefit from the funds raised. As part of the Care & Share Movement led by Community Chest, donations received will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Government.

In addition to raising funds for the less advantaged this season, our collaboration with Community Chest creates a platform for special needs students from Rainbow Centre Yishun Park School to showcase their creativity and imagination by designing the mall’s Christmas wrappers.

Beneficiaries from Rainbow Centre Yishun Park School will be assisting with gift wrapping at the L1 concierge on 13th November from 10.30am to 12.30pm and on 14th November from 6.00 to 8.30pm, lending a personalized touch to the mall’s gift wrapping service for its shoppers.

Nostalgia

Nostalgia

We can’t rewind time
But we can look back at the past memories, fondly
We can’t go back to the past
But we can appreciate what we have now in the present
We can’t teleport into the future
But we can imagine what it will be like and be hopeful

//

Certain things, events, memories & conversations with and about different people are making me feel nostalgic. I’m missing people whom I’ve spent a large part of my life with. I will miss the friendship that I’m choosing to let go at the current moment even if it’s painful. I’m currently feeling neither here, nor there. The feeling of being in transit. Thinking of the past and uncertain about the future, believing that the present experiences are lessons that I have to learn.

Retro Days with MAC Wash & Dry Collection & Huggable Lips Collection

Hi Loves!

I may profess to be beauty junkie, but my level is no where near MAC’s. What do I mean? I mean they launch some 3-4 collections a month, (yes that’s about 1 a week, or sometimes simultaneously they launch 4 collections in a month). So by the time you’re reading this, the collections here are most probably sold out, since my blog posts are mostly belated reviews, heh. Nonetheless, some of the key basics like the foundations would still be there, and if you’re in love in sometime LE featured here, you can try it to find it on Amazon or Carousell! If all else fails… Visit the shop to ask for similar colours, or buy something new from their current collections. 😉

Anyhoo, read on to check out what went down in store on the day Smita and I went to check out Beno (MAC’s makeup artist) working magic on the model with Wash & Dry collection and of course also checking out the then new Huggable Lips collection. 😀

MAC Wash & Dry MAC Huggable Lips 001Beno highly recommends this as a skin prep all over the face before foundation. He says this is particularly good for models when they come in with dull skin, it helps to perk, brighten and hydrate their skin.

MAC Wash & Dry MAC Huggable Lips 002Beno also swears by Lightful C softening lotion(toner), a rather new product launched this year, Beno says that this product with Vit C helps to brighten the skin.

Now on to the Huggable Lips collection! These lipsticks are amazing. They give your lips a very bouncy feel and wet look. I have no idea how that is huggable. Chat away with super cute LINE SG50 stickers!

Hi Loves!

Another #throwback post today! So I was invited for LINE’s SG50 sticker set launch party a few months back and it was really cute fun hanging with LINE mascots Brown (brown bear) & Cony (white rabbit) and with my lovely blogger friend Sydney!

In case you have no idea what LINE is, it’s a messaging app from Korea and they legit have the cutest stickers. Of course they have a close competitor Kakao Talk and in the past I actually had both but now I only have LINE and not because I’m chatting up any cute Oppas or Dongsengs or Ullsangs but because I love playing LINE apps. #TrueStory Although now the only game I’m still playing is Tsum Tsum and even that I have stopped for a few months and only logged in a few days ago and SUPER SAD that they reformatted (probably because of my Iphone OS upgrade?!) and I LOST all my previously acquired Tsum Tsums and levels. T_T

Anyways… What I am trying to say is… If you have not downloaded LINE and LINE’s Tsum Tsum you should try it out… but if you’re hooked/addicted, pls do not blame it on me. 😛

Coming back to the post at hand, the launch event was held sometime in May at Fullerton Bay Hotel, I LOVE. SO PRETTY. #PossibleWeddingSpot #StillSingleWhoAmIKidding #WhereIsTheLoveOfMyLife  And well, you’ll see the super local and kind of cute sticker set below, which I think is limited edition and I don’t see them available on the LINE app anyway, SORRY GUYS. But there are tons of NEW, cute and free stickers to download now! 🙂
LINE SG 50 Stickers 001 LINE SG 50 Stickers 002 LINE SG 50 Stickers 003 LINE SG 50 Stickers 004 LINE SG 50 Stickers 005 This Sally the LINE Duck balloon is INCREDIBLE. It’s still very much “alive” and full in my bedroom as I am typing this despite the months. I love it too much to throw it away. I have a soft spot for ducks, seriously.LINE SG 50 Stickers 006With sweetie pie Sydney.
LINE SG 50 Stickers 008 LINE SG 50 Stickers 009 LINE SG 50 Stickers 010

Sorry guys it’s only available until Sep 2015. I am a terrible, procrastinating blogger. THAT IS WHY you should follow me on IG @ena_teo where I am much more updated. Not instant (not always) but much more updated. Yes. LINE SG 50 Stickers 007And all the cute-sy collectibles!

Thank you WOM PR and LINE SG for having me!

My First F1 Experience

It’s been a while since I’ve done a #throwback post, you could say that it means I have been quite updated with my recent blog posts, but the truth is that while I have been blogging about the recent happenings and reviews, I actually have neglected A LOT of my older blog posts, hahaha. So much so that I’m pretty sure cobwebs would have formed over them, if they were papers lying on my desk, oops. Anyhoos, I am back on a blogging roll and I will be rolling out #throwback posts every thursdays since#ThrowbackThursdays, right? 😛 If I prove to be disciplined and roll out my blog posts as frequently as I plan to be, I hope to be able to clear all of them by the end of this year. 🙂 *fingers crossed* So how long ago are my #Throwback blog posts from? Thankfully only about 1 year plus, is that of any consolation? HAHAHA. Sorry I am amused, even by myself. #EasilyAmused

Anyhoos! Enough of the long intro, and if you’re still around despite it, let’s just drive (pun intended) in to my very 1st F1 experience, shall we?

Thanks to my friend Q for the tickets, my friend Clarabelle and I had the chance to check out F1 last year, 2014.
My First F1 Experience 001 My First F1 Experience 002Before we headed to the arena/grandstand area where our seats were, we had tea, OOTD taking and shopping first. Yes, us girls and our necessary distractions girly time. 😛
My First F1 Experience 003More than a year ago, can’t believe how fast time has flown by. Still loving this outfit nonetheless! 🙂
My First F1 Experience 004With  my babe, Clarabelle. <3 As you can see, we were both overdressed for the occasion as we got the tickets on a very last minute notice. So we did some quick shopping at H&M/Cotton On to change into more comfortable attire for F1.

My First F1 Experience 005Then we made our way! It was going to be a very super long walk to our grandstand seats. Zzz.

My First F1 Experience 006More walking. A good mix of locals and touristy crowd.

My First F1 Experience 007Obligatory shot with the handsome cars? Checked!
My First F1 Experience 008Still wish that it was a clear glass instead of these ugly fences.
My First F1 Experience 009Better shot! I am still impressed that people actually drive these cars in F1 when they look like the bigger versions of toy cars.

My First F1 Experience 010One of the spots where live shows are held during off F1 car racing periods. But we didn’t actually catch any, unfortunately!

My First F1 Experience 011

FINALLY got to our grandstand  seats… after what was about 30 minutes of walking through tunnels and stairs and paths. And we were seated for less than 10 minutes before the races ended of the night… LOL. No kidding. My First F1 Experience 012Panoramic view of the race track!
My First F1 Experience 013Honestly I could not(still cannot) understand the appeal of being seated at the grandstands when the cars just keep zooming by… They don’t even stay long enough for you to admire the car or the racer.  I think these people are invested because they follow the news/racers/cars and enjoy just being in the actual area and experience the thick of the exciting atmosphere and hear the applause and sighs at the end of the night – depending if the racer/car they support won or lost. But if you ask me, I would very much prefer to watch/follow the race from the screen. So going to F1 would probably appeal more to me if it was to catch one of the famous stars/singers performing pre/post F1 show. AND the sad thing was it was raining super duper heavily after the race and we didn’t have any umbrellas so we missed Robbie William’s concert. T_T #Cries
My First F1 Experience 015Yet another long walk to the exit.
My First F1 Experience 016It was pretty cool to be able to walk on the race track after the race ended.
My First F1 Experience 017Being stuck at one of the MRT paths due to the rain.

All in the all, I definitely enjoyed my first F1 race experience, but I was probably not properly prepped and also didn’t maximize my ticket. I definitely advise you to find out the race details – racer/car line up for the day and figure who you’re rooting for and why, be comfortably dress in something light for Singapore’s ridiculously humid weather and last and probably the most important (for me at least, lol) bring a raincoat for when it rains so you can still catch whatever awesome concert is happening after. 😉

Thanks again to Q for the tickets and to Clarabelle for being such fun company! <3

My Trip to Rexults Clinic (formerly known as EPW Laser & Medical Aesthetics Clinic)

Hi loves!

A few weeks back I paid a visit to Rexults Clinic  (formerly known as EPW Laser & Medical Aesthetics Clinic) for a consultation followed by treatment session and I’m very pleased with my experience and happy to be able to share it with you today!

image1

Before I go into details about the treatment process, let me share a little more about Rexults Clinic~

image3

With 22 Years in Medical Aesthetics Practice, Rexults Clinic is located on the 17th floor of Tong Building in Orchard Road and the clinic is a pioneer in Singapore’s medical aesthetics industry which delivers top line medical skincare procedures for problematic skin conditions and non-surgical face enhancement solutions. The clinic was started in 1993 by Medical Director and Founder Dr EP Wong. You may not have seen many advertisements for the clinic because it has always relied on word of mouth, bass on their good track record. It is their reliability, being up-to-date and customer-centric culture that keeps patients visiting the clinic!

image2

Excellent Facilities & Equipment:
Rexults Clinic has excellent facilities – large waiting areas with comfortable designer sofas, a professional photo-taking room, immaculate doctors’ consultation rooms and 4 treatment rooms filled with the latest medical-grade equipment. From these, I can see that the clinic strives to attain the highest professional standards in everything they do. I’ve also learnt that the doctors at Rexults Clinic also keep abreast on the latest developments in the field of medical aesthetics. In order to deliver precise results, due diligence is applied in the selection of equipment and refining the techniques of any new procedures.  For this reason, it is not just about the equipment, but the discerning eye, experience and skills of the specialists that matter.

image6Spacious & comfortable waiting space before treatment.

Rexults Clinic Treatment Room pictureA peek of the treatment room.

Procedures – No or Minimal Downtime:
After the registration, I was chaperoned into Associate Doctor, Melvin Tan’s consultation room.  I shared my objective to get rid of my some pigmentation and minor skin growth on my face.  As I was concerned about having any downtime, Dr. Tan assured me that the downtime for the recommended procedures would have no downtime / minimal downtime.

image8 Here’s a picture of me with the anesthetic cream before the laser treatment. It is left on for about 30-60 minutes and removed before the laser treatment.

Here are the procedures and treatments I had experienced at Rexults Clinic:

Clarity laser procedure – a very effective for pigmentation. The Clarity laser also helps in photo rejuvenation of the skin, so it can minimise your pores, reduce fine lines and help boost collagen synthesis.  Just what I need to maintain youthful-looking skin! You don’t have to worry about skin thinning as this laser targets the skin layers beneath, not the surface. Results: Brighter, clearer and more even skin tone.

Extraction – My nose needed extraction and the best way to is to have the procedure performed by a medical professional in a sterile environment.
Result: Smoother skin texture and helps in preventing future breakouts. I am really very impressed by the Doctor’s professional extraction, the acne spots very quickly died down with little to no scarring within the next few days. There really is a difference between a clinic and facial salon extraction, the difference is in the shorter downtime.

 • Radiowave surgery – is a highly effective procedure for the removal of skin surface irregularities such as acne, moles and skin tags.  Dr. Tan performed some spot radiowave surgery for some of the minor skin growth on my skin.
Result: Improved skin texture – i.e. smoother skin. After 3 weeks, I am truly very happy to report that this procedure has been a dream come true. The procedure did leave some minor scabs which dropped off naturally and now my skin is smooth. I didn’t even need any extra skincare after, Doctor Tan just told me to use my usual hydrating skincare.

Mask – A brightening and soothing mask is applied. Excellent in calming my skin.

LED Blue Light Treatment
Result: The light causes the development of oxygen radicals that get rid of acne bacteria without damaging healthy skin.

• LED Yellow Light Treatment
Result: Improves skin tone and helps to heal the skin.

IMG_4762Here’s a photo of me sans makeup with Dr Tan during the review, 1 week after the treatment.

Patient Care
A key success of Rexults Clinic is that the staff are committed to developing long and trusting relationships with all clients.  Rexults Clinic trains their people to deliver superlative service both within the clinic and through a comprehensive after-care program that lets patients know that they are always there for them.  I like the fact that the clinic makes it a point to find out how your skin is doing even after the procedures and treatments have been done, like how I went back 1 weeks after the treatment for follow up. I can now understand why patients and their family/friends choose to visit Rexults Clinic. It is their professionalism and genuine after-care service that speaks volumes.

image5

Background on Dr. Melvin Tan, Associate Doctor – Rexults Clinic
From my visit to Rexults Clinic, I learned that Dr. Melvin Tan enjoys individually tailoring combination treatments for his patients, relying on a large toolbox of procedures to ensure his patients achieve the best and most predictable results. He believes that patients should look natural and rested, while still maintaining their individuality. What is also interesting is that since 2012, Dr. Tan has personally trained over 50 doctors in South East Asia on basic and advanced injection techniques using Botox and fillers. If I do plan to have some face enhancement procedures done, I know who I can look for.

Contact
If you’re interested to improve your skin, you can make an appointment to see Dr. Melvin Tan at Rexults Clinic.

Dr. Tan’s consultation fee is SGD$50.

A customised program would be recommended by the doctor for every patient’s individual needs.

Rexults Clinic is located at 302 Orchard Road #17-01 Tong Building (Beside Paragon).

Thank you Rexults Clinic, Dr Tan & Simon for my pleasant experiences at the clinic & for helping me achieve clearer and smoother skin through the laser and combination treatments!

Thanks to our location sponsor Park Regis Singapore, we held a cosy and intimate workshop session at their Melbourn Room on level 2. I recommend this hotel for business travellers as it’s conveniently located 5 min away from Clark Quay MRT station, plus you can also enjoy the night life nearby after work. It’s also great for a local staycation over the weekends as it’s newly refurbished and fully equipped with swimming pool, gym and dining restaurants.
Park Regis Singapore 001Before the event took place, we had a quick tour around the hotel and it’s lovely! Once entering the hotel at ground floor, you’ll find seating spaces, restaurant and bar to hang out and chill.
Park Regis Singapore 003At the check in lobby, you’ll find free flow refreshment drink and a long counter that comes with seats to cater to the business travellers that come in from long haul flights.

There are 202 rooms and they come in 4 types; Park,  Merchant,  Quay & Regis (Suites). Park and Merchant are the standard rooms, with Park facing the office buildings while Merchant has a view of Clark Quay. Quay rooms are on the second floor with direct exit to the pool. Regis refer to the exclusive suite rooms.

Stylista Bloggers Korean Beauty & Fashion Workshop 008With a heart full of love and gratitude, I’d like to also give special thanks to my sisters & friends Jia Hui, Lu Jia, Ying Ling, Christabelle, Clarabelle, Leanne, Smita and Leon. Thank you for your prayers and encouragements. Thank you Jesus that you’ve made it all possible. It hasn’t been an easy journey to organize and prepare for an event like this for the first time but it’s made possible because everything fell into place with thanks to our sponsors and in accordance to God’s perfect timing. The Stylista squad definitely has a lot to improve on and we’ve definitely learnt a lot from this. If there’s only one thing you can take away from my post today, I hope it’s this:

You will never be fully prepared to fulfil your goals. Whether you fail or succeed, the act of taking a risk will stretch you. And it’s in taking that step of faith, out of your comfort zone that you will learn much and be closer to your goals. Don’t stop dreaming and never give up. One day you’ll look back and be thankful that you didn’t give up.

If you haven’t, be sure to follow me on IG @ena_teo for my updates!

Casual Days

Hi Loves!

What’s your idea of a casual weekend? Mine’s definitely hanging with family or friends over food – whether cafe hopping, at the mall’s, my place or theirs. Had the chance to pop by Christabelle‘s place the other weekend and took the chance to also take some outfit shots around her place. And while reviewing these photos, I belatedly realize… that I am back to leaning towards monochrome colours for my wardrobe. Black, white & greys are just so easy to mix and match with… and easy to throw on in the morning too!

Although I have 2 similar dresses, one sleeveless and another short-sleeved, I just needed to get this when I saw it, hahaha. #Obsessed. I imagine this is the perfect dress to wear to support your favourite boy or sports player for a game. Throw on a black moto jacket or a jazzy bomber jacket and you’re ready to attend a concert or throw a party for your favourite rockstar. This particular dress is sold out, for more Unif dresses, check out Revolve Clothing here. I’m also wearing Free People’s Bella Coachella Strappy Back Bra with this look.American Eagle Outfitters Black Shorts Outfit Street Look 001 American Eagle Outfitters Black Shorts Outfit Street Look 002Have I mentioned that I love muscle tees? I got this DIOR NOT WAR singlet/tee from Malacca! Sometimes you can get really cute slogan tees from the market stalls. If you’re looking for something similar online, see this. Or if you prefer sleeved tees, which are reallyyy comfy, I totally recommend this cute OBEY Glitch Garden tee.  For shorts, nothing else beats American Eagle’s Outfitters’. I got these cut off shorts at their Vivo City outlet, I highly recommend you check them out if you haven’t! Achieve Clearer, Brighter Skin with Atlas Medical Korean Triple Translucent Skin Trio

Hi Loves!

Feels like it’s been a while since I last blogged about a facial review. I experienced the treatments a few months back, now that I finally find the time, I’m very excited to share about my experience with Atlas Medical Clinic/Medispa’s Korean Triple Translucent Skin Trio, aka Korean Skin Trio!
11201505_857928927619365_137850594781742702_n

Atlas Medicial Clinic’s Korean Translucent Skin Trio consists of:
1. Revlite Laser Toning by Doctor SM Yuen
2. Aqua Radiance Medical Grade Facial
3. Korean Intense Moisture Mask
and it costs $128(inclusive GST)

You can also enjoy a similar Skin Trio treatment at Atlas Medispa, with the following steps:
1. Silk Peel
2. VPL, Variable Pulse Light Treatment
3. Hydrating Mask

Do note that a pre-assessment is needed prior to the treatment.

So I tried out 2 sessions of Revlite Laser Toning by Doctor SM Yuen and I love it! It was my very first time going through any laser toning or treatment of sorts and I was very happy to be under the good hands of Dr SM Yuen and team! If you’re like me and have never tried Revlite Laser Toning before, let me explain my experience~

After cleansing the face, one of the Atlas Medical Clinic attentive Skincare Therapist will prepare you and have your hair pulled and secured back with a white head band. Then the doctor is called in and he will gently speak to you and prepare you if it’s your first time going through laser. He explains that the laser is similar to a warm light and at the most, it shouldn’t feel more then an ant bite. Plus, there is a light air tube that blows cold air concurrently with the Revlite laser treatment which helps to distract and sooth any discomfort. There might be some slight burnt scent as it’s the laser burning away facial hairs, it’s perfectly normal and not detrimental.

I definitely enjoyed both Revlite Laser Toning sessions and love the clearing and brightening effect it has on my skin after. Check out the photos I took during and after the Revlite Laser Toning sessions!

image1After my first Revlite Laser Toning session.image2 image3A few days after the first Revlite Laser Toning session, my skin’s clearer, brighter and make up applies on smoother.

image4Another photo after my first Revlite Laser Toning session.

Went back for my second Revlite Laser Toning Session, I think I was pretty much experiencing my best(albeit slightly tired) skin in my entire life, with little to no pimples because of the right combination of hydrating skincare, supplements, facials, laser treatments and healthy lifestyle. ^^image5 image6 image7 image8 image9 image10

A few days after the second Revlite Laser Toning session. Was actually feeling really tired, but thank God for radiant good skin thanks to the Revlite Laser Toning sessions!

Last but not the least, I also had the chance to review Atlas Medispa’s Skin Trio session, which as mentioned above, consists of the Silk Peel, VPL and mask steps which helps to remove dead skin cells, rejuvenate by hydrating and brightening the skin!

Photoworthy Captures at ION Orchard’s The Fashion Playhouse

Hi Loves!

A few days ago I had the pleasure to visit ION Orchard’s The Fashion Playhouse with 2 Fashion Inversion rooms; one where you’ll look like you’re floating in mid air and another where you’ll look like a giant when you’re standing on the right side of the room. There’s also a Fashion Reflection room where you can lie on the floor and look like you’re on the front cover of a magazine! It’s definitely something cute, fashionable and photo-worthy.
ION Fashion Playhouse 2015 003ION Fashion Playhouse 2015 002 ION Fashion Playhouse 2015 001

Unfortunately, the Fashion Reflection room was not in working order the day I was there. So there’s no photos of that room.

The Fashion Playhouse opens from 11am to 8pm daily to shoppers who spend a minimum of S$80 at ION Orchard.  In collaboration with the Singapore Tourism Board, ION Orchard is offering free admission for shoppers to the fashion playrooms, and all they need to do is to post at least three Instagram posts with the hashtag #IONPlayhouse and #OrchardRoad. The Fashion Playhouse will be located at ION2 from 24 September to 21 October.

Contingency plans have also been put in place in light of the haze.  The outdoor Fashion Playhouse will be closed if the PSI readings exceed the unhealthy range (above 150).  Signs will be placed at the entrance of the Fashion Playhouse to encourage shoppers to minimise prolonged outdoor activities, or redirect shoppers accordingly.

Aside from the Fashion Playhouse, shoppers will also be inspired by the larger-than-life doll-houses on Levels 2 and 3 of ION Orchard.  These carefully styled doll houses showcase the latest collections from the mall’s best-loved brands such as Bally, Diane von Furstenberg and Dsquared2 among others.

Also part of the Autumn Winter Fashion Season are a series of shopper workshops and shopping deals throughout the season, including the perfect accessory this fall – a limited edition Dian Von Furstenberg scarf – with a minimum of $1,000 spent.

Have fun checking out the Fashion Playhouses and shopping at ION Orchard! 😉

Thank you Daphne from Weber Shanwick Singapore PR for the kind invite! Also thanks to the friendly staffs on site for taking the photos for me and posing with me too! 🙂

Experience JMF Multi-Level Peeling for Healthy Skin

Hi Loves~

A short while ago I had the pleasure to try out JMF Multi-Level Peeling at Annabelle Skin boutique and I’d like to share my experience of it with you.

Before this treatment, I’ve not tried any fruit acid peeling treatments before, so this is my first time!^^
Annabelle Skin JMF Multi-Level Peeling Treatment Blogger Review HiRes 002Annabelle Skin boutique at The Adelphi, conveniently located a stone’s throw away from City Hall MRT station.
Annabelle Skin JMF Multi-Level Peeling Treatment Blogger Review HiRes 003This is the cozy entrance and reception area. This area is also where the therapist will conduct the consultation prior to the treatment. The therapist will provide an in-depth skin analysis using a skin scanner and advise the level of JMF Multi-Peeling accordingly.

The therapist shared a very insightful comment about my skin, that my acne prone skin could be a result of my facial hair (I have more facial hair than normal). Even though it’s not obvious to the naked eye, under the skin scanner, the acne spots I have on my skin could be caused by irritation or dust collected due to the facial hair. This was the first time I have heard about my facial hair being a cause of my acne and I will take note to remove my facial hair via mask, laser or a simple knife tool (also recommended by popular American beauty Youtuber Caribel).

The therapist also shared that I should use an oil based cleanser as it does the job of removing make up and especially sun block much better than just water based cleanser. So ever since then, I have taken her advice and started using my Kose oil based cleanser (which also smells really good, hehe) and I do think this advice have proven useful! So basically I am very impressed with Annabelle Skin’s therapist because, despite having been to a handful of facial salons, non of them have actually given me such valuable insights, which I really appreciate. 🙂

Annabelle Skin JMF Multi-Level Peeling Treatment Blogger Review 002A snap of my bare face, pre treatment. Some prominent redness on the cheeks, nose and forehead with acne/pimple spots scattered around. Unfortunately I have not been having the best of skin lately as I have been under a fair bit of stress juggling a few things on hand. Not an excuse because I really had awesome skin earlier this year… hahaha! The truth really is, if we don’t stress so much, sleep early/more and be happy, we will all be healthier and have better skin. But being #SoSingaporean, skincare, makeup and facial are our skin’s saviours when we have outbreaks due to stress, am I right? 🙂

For the uninitiated, JMF Multi-Level Peeling gets its name from the JMF brand. Founded in 2004, JMF has since gained popularity in Italy and the rest of Europe. The brand provides safe and effective treatments with customised cocktails of fruit acids such as AHA, BHA, SA, PHA, AKA and other active ingredients to gently exfoliate, tighten and rejuvenate the skin. This unique synergy reduces the irritation usually caused by the penetration of fruit acids and, at the same time, allows dead skin to be sloughed off safely and for active ingredients to be absorbed effectively. New skin cells are regenerated rapidly, thus the skin becomes smoother as impurities are removed naturally. The treatment also plumps up and hydrates the skin, giving it an energised and oxygenated boost, along with reduced appearance of facial wrinkles and fine lines with its antioxidant effect.

The JMF Multi-Level Peeling treatment comprises of a highly focused three-level approach namely T1, T2 and T3, with 27%, 37% and 55% fruit acid at each respective level. At every stage, the skin will be treated with a FIX solution encompassing Aloe Vera extracts for a neutralising effect which soothes and calms the skin before the next level is administered.

By the third level, T3 is only applied at targeted spots for a localised treatment. A therapist will decide on the level of peeling and adjust the treatment according to the client’s skin conditions at every step of the way. The JMF Multi-Level Peeling treatment is a highly versatile treatment suitable for all skin conditions including acne, enlarged pores, dull skin complexions, scarring, pigmentation, and mature, wrinkled skin.

According to the therapist, a few treatments would be recommended to achieve the full results. So my one time experience is really just to share more about the process and what you can expect if you’re going to try it for the first time! 🙂

So after the skin consultation, Annabelle Skin’s therapist recommended that for my skin, we can reach level 2, also known as T2 stage, for the JMF Multi Level Peeling. I can feel the tingling sensation quite strongly already at level 1 so I was quite hesitant to go for T2. Bearing in mind, I have quite a low threshold for pain. So the therapist suggested a very quick T2 process, applying it for about a minute rather than the full 3-5 minutes. I agreed and went along with her advise as I trusted her experience and professionalism.

This is the full JMF Multi-Level Peeling Method, for your reference:

Treatment for all skin types. Therapist to observe the different skin conditions and adjust treatment time and level of treatment according to the individual skin’s needs.

  1.  Remove make-up with DM clean. (Cleansing milk to clear impurities and makeup)

2  . Cleanse with Sens Pre-peel (for sensitive, dry skin) or Deep Pre-peel (for oily skin or skin withenlarged pores)

3  . Remove with cotton wool soaked in cool water. Dry thoroughly, using tissues.

4  . Apply T1 composit (27%) to each area in sequence for about 3-5 minutes, and neutralise with Fix composit. Remove with cotton wool soaked in cool water. Dry thoroughly, using tissues.

5  . Apply T2 composit (37%) to each area in sequence for about 3-5 minutes, and neutralise with Fix composit. Remove with cotton wool soaked in cool water. Dry thoroughly, using tissues.

6  . Check on the skin’s condition for problem areas such as wrinkle, pimples or pigmentation, apply T3 composit (55%) to each area in sequence as a localised treatment for 1-3 minutes, and neutralise with Fix composit. Remove with cotton wool soaked in cool water. Dry thoroughly, using tissues.

7  . Apply Vita AE or Vita C complex for skin that needs anti-ageing, anti-oxidant or brightening treatment (not applicable for young skin or clogging skin)

8  . Apply SB. Cream composit

9  . Apply Mask composit and leave in place for 8 minutes.

10  . Remove with cotton wool soaked in cool water. Dry thoroughly, using tissues.

11  . Apply SB.creaM composit as moisturiser.

After the treatment, I was given these product samples to use for home care, refer to end of post for more product details and information and where to get them. I personally think the mixture of Dr Belter and JMF cleansers/ moisturizer provided for a simple and gentle home care, post treatment.

Keeping track of the results after the JMF Multi Level Peeling treatment!:Annabelle Skin JMF Multi-Level Peeling Treatment Blogger Review 006This is a 4 days after the treatment, my bare face right after the shower. Skin is redder where the sensitive areas/acne spots are as the JMF Multi-Level Peeling has activated these areas for dead skin/acne removal from within – it was a little unbearable the first 2-3 days as this process takes place.

Annabelle Skin JMF Multi-Level Peeling Treatment Blogger Review 007Bare skin after 12 days / less than 2 weeks. Redness has definitely died down. Overall, although the treatment can be altered for all or most skin types, I’d personally recommend this more for people with normal to dry skin type, or if you’re looking for a natural fruit acid peeling treatment for skin removal and rejuvenation! And I definitely think Annabelle Skin boutique provides personalized, professional and thoughtful service that makes you feel at home and cozy.
