Grand Plastic Surgery Korea Blogger Event & Prestige Cell (Anti Wrinkle) Mask Review

Hi Loves!

A while back I was invited for a Grand Plastic Surgery Korea blogger event to hear and learn more about Grand Plastic Surgery Korea and the services/treatments they have to offer. They tout themselves to be Korea’s biggest plastic surgery center with 4300m2 across their 21 stories building. Their Sinsa Main Center is fully equipped with state of the art medical facility and they offer one stop service from consultation, treatment, surgery, recovery and post care.

Naturally they provide a comprehensive list of surgery treatments including Eyes, Nose, Fat Grafting (voluminous baby face is apparently popular in Korea now, which for the life of me, I can’t understand why, especially since people with baby face are actively trying to get rid of the excess fats), Anti-aging (Face lift), Breast and Body Contouring and Jaws/Facial Contouring.

We also heard from Jacqueline aka GollyLocks, who gone through double eyelids and jaw reduction/facial contouring done at Plastic Surgery Korea. She said it was a painless experience, which obviously came as a shock to the other bloggers in attendance. She’s very satisfied with the results and recommends their services.

Along with 2 other bloggers, I had the chance to meet one of the Grand Plastic Surgery doctor for a quick consultation at the event. I enquired about double eyelid surgery (would/might want to go for one in the future) and he was quite confident that I can get my even double eyelids for my eyes, as I currently have uneven double/single eyelids. I enquired about the failure percentage at Grand Plastic, to which he said is less than 5% as each doctor specialises in a certain area so they are very skilled and they also offer free rectification surgery.

The staff followed up with an email on the recommended surgery after the consultation, their rates and recommended length of stay after the session:

[Eyelid Surgery]

1.  Natural Adhesion Method
  1,500,000 ~ 1,700,000 Korean won (>$1500SGD)

2. Ptosis Correction
700,000 ~ 900,000 Korean won (>$800SGD)

The minimum recommended stay is 3~ 4 days in Korea to have post surgery treatment  and outside stitches removed. If you could stay up to 6 ~ 7 days it may be even better to check on your recovery.

S$2300 for an eyelid surgery is definitely cheaper than in Singapore, which costs about S$3000 or more and by doctors who are likely not as skilled then those in Korea who likely perform on hundreds a week, if not days. But if you include airfare and hotel stay in Korea then it’s definitely more expensive, haha.

I can’t attest nor recommend their services since I’ve not tried them before, nonetheless I do think they’re worth considering if you’re preparing to head to Korea to have an eye/nose/jaw/boob/facelift job done! Check out their english website here and email them here if you’re keen to enquire about the fees, consultation and surgery details, etc.

What I would recommend is that you look for a Korean friend to help you make the booking in Korean if possible, as I’ve heard from friend/friend of friends who’ve been to Korea for beauty services/treatments/surgery that it’s cheaper when a Korean makes the booking in Korean. Plus, Koreans themselves would most likely know which clinic is credible and recommend the really good clinics, right?

Plus, my review of Grand Plastic’s Prestige Cell (Anti Wrinkle) Mask is at the end of the post.

Grand Plastic Surgery Blogger Event and Prestige Cell Mask Review 012I’m not a huge mask person because I’m generally a really lazy hassle free  person that don’t seem to find that 15-20 min time period for a seat in facial mask, ha. And I also tend to be put off by really fancy masks like snail essence #IJustCant. So it’s kind of thankfully that I didn’t read the ingredients into the mask before I used it because this Prestige Cell (Anti Wrinkle) Mask contains 5% cord blood derived stem cells. with 30 different skin regeneration factors to reduce wrinkles and give you youthful/supple looking skin. I probably shouldn’t be grossed out because the ingredient is an extract/derivative from laboratory and not actual blood per se. And I will still use the 2 other masks I have (3 in the pack I was given) because it does feel really good. The mask sheet is premium fibre sheet that promises to hold more of the cord blood derived stem cells and hold on to the face better, and when I first touched it I could tell it’s better quality then the usual/normal ones and they did cover my face snugly until it began to dry out with time before it came off. The mask is free from fragrance, artificial ingredients, ethanol, paraben, mineral oil, so I reckon this is good for sensitive skin types too! Use this face mask after washing and toner. Remove after 15-20minutes and dab remaining essence into the skin for absorption. I recommend using this mask in the evening so you can wake up to refreshed skin. Only found 1 online site selling these Prestige Cell Masks (no guarantee if the site is credible or not though) and it’s selling at 65HKD/$12SGD which is surprisingly cheap cause I was expecting the mask to be like SKII pricing, which is $122 for 6 or $20/mask. I haven’t actually tried SK-II mask before, but if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative, perhaps you can try this! 🙂

Thank you Grand Plastic Surgery Korea and Incite Comms for the blogger event invite and masks for review!

Soft & Airy Hair Blowout at Chez Vous

Hi Loves!

A few months back, I was involved in the shooting of a local documentary commissioned by Discovery Channel for SG50, the short film is titled Heartland and you can check out the details on their microsite here and visit their FB here. From 17-21 August, Heartland will be showing daily at 6pm on Discovery Channel SEA, Starhub Ch 422. I actually haven’t seen the full film and hopefully will have the chance to watch it soon. I’m playing my role as a property agent and giving KC a tour of Tiong Bahru, heh. Did you know that Tiong Bahru was one of the earliest HDB estate in Singapore? And that the designs of the old HDBs there are inspired by the 1920s transportation modes like airplane?  #NowYouKnow 😉 Anyways, before the filming, the kind folks at Chez Vous helped to give me a soft and airy look, so I can look pretty on screen. 😛 I love the look! Much thanks to Jaime and Eugene at Chez Vous! <3

Hollywood Celebrities’ Skincare Favourite EMK Beverly Hills

Hi Loves!

A while back I was invited to the launch of EMK Beverly Hills skincare at Escentials Paragon outlet and today I’m excited to be sharing with you their star product and more!

EMK Singapore Blogger Review 001

As their names says, this brand hails from US, Beverly Hills, where many Hollywood celebrities reside. The brand was founded by Emilia Karsh, a professor and chemist who wanted to help her friend who suffered burn scars on the face. She applied the derivatives of human placenta which helped her friend recover and thereafter developed a line of products made from botanical placenta extract which is similar to the human placenta that helps expedite the healing process; thus EMK Beverly Hills was born. The brand was originally only available through dermatologists who recommended it to celebrities like Victoria Beckham; who has been using it for a decade now. Magazine also reports that Simon Cowell is a huge fan of their anti-aging face serum and face mask and the EMK representative told me that Cowell uses half a bottle (too extravagantly) on the face each time and buys them by the dozen.

EMK Singapore Blogger Review 002

I had the pleasure to use and review 3 EMK Beverly Hills products; Anti-Aging Facial Cleanser, 3 in 1 Live Anti-Aging Facial Mask and the Supra Night Cream.EMK Singapore Blogger Review 009_Fotor_Collage

The EMK Beverly Hills Anti-Aging Facial Cleanser Anti-Aging Facial Cleanser is a gentle and light cleanser that promises to exfoliate, hydrate and repair. It also comes with a light medicinal scent that’s reminiscent of cough syrup (no kidding). The cleanser contains hyaluronic acid and shea butter to restore the skin’s natural moisture balance. What I like about this cleanser is the light texture which feels luxurious, moisturizing and leaves the skin fresh without drying it out. However I don’t feel its supposed exfoliating effects. This is the first anti-aging facial cleanser I’ve used, as I previously tend to use facial cleanser that leaves my slightly oily skin feeling tauter. Therefore I use this in the morning and use a stronger facial cleanser in the night. I would recommend this facial cleanser especially for people with dry and sensitive skin.

EMK Beverly Hills Supra Night Recovery Cream after application on the skin.

I personally tend to be wary of night cream as they tend to be too enriching for me and cause me to breakout especially in our warm and humid weather. However I am quite in love with this EMK Beverly Hills Supra Night Recovery Cream because even though it’s a cream, it’s light and it absorbs into the skin very quickly. Plus it  has a botanical/fresh floral scent which I love! The cream promises to combat wrinkles, firm and hydrate. I can’t be sure about the wrinkles (thankfully they haven’t showed up), but it definitely absorbs into the skin to firm and hydrate! This EMK Beverly Hills Supra Night Recovery Cream has worked well for me in our Singapore weather and I can imagine it will work great across dry and cold weathers too, I recommend it as an all around ideal night cream for everyone. 🙂

EMK Singapore Blogger Review 005 EMK Singapore Blogger Review 010_Fotor_CollageEMK Beverly Hills 3 in 1 Live Anti-Aging Facial Mask is the pleasant surprise and my favourite of the 3 products in review today! Again, I have a misconception that Anti-Aging products are heavy and too enriching for me. However this product completely proved me wrong and it’s a total winner. The EMK Beverly Hills 3 in 1 Live Anti-Aging Facial Mask promises to 1. Detoxify, softens and soothes, 2. Stimulates and boosts collagen, 3. Revitalizes & deeply hydrates. You can use this either as a 15 min mask and wash away, or apply generously and leave it in for a night and wash in the morning. I tried both and I LOVE the effect after leaving it in for a night and I would recommend the latter strongly. EMK Beverly Hills 3 in 1 Live Anti-Aging Facial Mask definitely hydrated, calmed and clarify my blemished skin, after leaving it in overnight, I awake to refreshed skin that’s clearer and brighter. I’ve been recommending this to my friends and it’s now on par with my other Holy Grail item, Estee Lauder’s Advance Night Repair. It’s that good, guys. I strongly recommend this EMK Beverly Hills 3 in 1 Live Anti-Aging Facial Mask for folks looking for a mask that will make your tired and blemished skin feel and look better/great after a night’s sleep!

You can shop EMK Singapore products online at Luxola.com. Follow them on IG @EMK_Singapore.

Thank you EMK Singapore for the event invite and products for review!

#FreeInMySkin with Physiogel and the body care product I didn’t think I needed

Hi Loves!

Do you suffer from sensitive skin such as dryness, redness and itchiness of the skin? Well, you’re not alone! An alarming rate of 1 in 2 women suffer from dry and sensitive skin,  with skin flare ups at an average frequency of 12.1 times a month, according to recent findings from Physiogel’s Skincare Asia study.

And if you’ve been following my blog for a long time, you’d also know that I have a history of mild facial and back acne which is why I became super interested in skincare at a young age of 18.

When I was 18, I battled mild acne and there wasn’t a day where my face was clear from fresh acne spots or blemish. It was so bad that I had to ask my mum to sponsor facial treatment which helped me to clear up my skin over the course of a few months. Since then it’s been years since the blemishes cleared up and I am still en route to recognizing clear, blemish free skin as my status quo rather than the exception.

Whilst my facial acne is kept to a minimum now and my friends have often complimented on my radiant skin on good days, not many know that I still battle with back acne, which can be a struggle especially when they flare up after I’m out under the sun or somewhere warm and dusty (which can be quite often considering my job as a property agent). To prevent my back acne from flaring up, I always ensure regular baths, twice daily and apply powder after baths,  however these measures are not fool proof and I still suffer from the occasional back acne spots every month. Also, the powder can sometimes be quite drying for my skin, but I honestly didn’t know what else I could do! T_T

So it’s not until very recently when I was introduced to Physiogel’s Daily Moisture Shower Cream that I found the product that my dry and sensitive back skin needed!!!

You can use the Physiogel Daily Moisture Shower Cream on its own and as well as for the face, but I like to double cleanse and use it on my back after my usual body cleansing gel. What this product does is that it cleanses and moisturizes the skin, in the shower! It truly feels like freedom for my back skin when my dry and sensitive skin is moisturized throughout the day. It has helped prevent my usual and frequent back acne flare ups and I am looking forward to the gradual clearing up of my back skin blemishes after prolong use.

Fuller Firmer Skin From Within with Imedeen Time Perfection

 Hi Loves!

If you’ve read my post “8 Beauty Features for This CNY” earlier this year, you’d know that I started taking IMEDEEN Time Perfection skin supplements after reading up and finding mostly positive recommendations online. So after taking them for 3 months, here’s my review!

Imedeen 001

So what’s IMEDEEN Time Perfection all about? Basically, IMEDEEN is all about tablet skincare; while beauty creams and serum work from the outside of the skin, Imedeen works on the inside of your skin, deep down in the dermal layer where the process of skin ageing begins.

More specficially, IMEDEEN Time Perfection is based on an exclusive collagen rich Marine Complex foundation, but enriched with LycoPhence GS™ – a potent and patented antioxidant complex that helps protect skin against UV-induced damage and deterioration. IMEDEEN Time Perfection reduces the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles and other signs of ageing.

These are the effects of IMEDEEN:

·         Improves skin quality and structure

·         Improves moisture balance

·         Helps protect collagen and elastin fibres against harmful UV rays

·         Makes skin on face and body feel softer, smoother and more supple

There have been scientifically proven results in just 90 days, with more than 10 scientific studies carried out to confirm the skin-beautifying benefits of IMEDEEN skincare tablets.

ChristyTurlingtonBurnsImedeen-647x370

“For me, true beauty really does begin within and when it comes to skincare that means Imedeen.”

Christy Turlington, Imedeen’s Global Ambasssador

Model and maternal health advocate Christy Turlington Burns is the new global brand ambassador for nutricosmetics expert IMEDEEN beauty supplements (manufactured by Pfizer).

A genuine advocate of the award-winning beauty tablets, Christy credits two daily tablets of IMEDEEN Time Perfection® as one of her secrets to maintaining beautiful, younger looking skin from the inside.

As for my review today, I was convinced to give IMEDEEN tablets a try after reading this really convincing review on MakeupAlley:

Screen Shot 2015-06-30 at 10.21.08 pm

2015-06-07 15.30.082015-06-05 16.19.05After taking IMEDEEN Time Perfection tablets for 3 months, I can see that my facial skin is fuller and firmer. My face, especially my forehead looks plumper and healthy. To illustrate how I feel about my skin after taking IMEDEEN Time Perfection tablets, see these images and writeup (provided by IMEDEEN):

The images above are taken from one of the scientific studies carried out on IMEDEEN. They confirm what’s happening in the invisible dermal layer of the skin and clearly show improvements after 3 and 6 months of use.

The top black line depicts the outer layer of the skin, also called the epidermis. Below this is the supportive layer – the dermis. The coloured elements represent collagen, elastin, and moisture retaining elements present in the dermis. A high concentration and distribution of dark coloured elements indicates a good skin condition.

My nails are also growing out to be stronger and they no longer chip easily. Thankfully I did not experience any weight gain due to the taking of these pills. Personally I am always interested to explore anti-ageing beauty / skincare products and supplements, so I wanted to give Time Perfection tablets and try and see its effectiveness. And I am happy to report that this product has worked for me and I will definitely consider this product as a collage supplement when I’m in my 30s. The recommended age for IMEDEEN Time Perfection tablets is 35+ so I am technically still young for it as I’m turning 25 this year.

I personally also prefer taking this tablet skincare over collagen drink. The recommended intake is 2 tablets once a day. It comes in a box which lasts 30 days/1 month and the recommended course to see effects is 90 days. A box currently costs S$101.05 which works out to $3.40 daily, which is about the price of a collagen drink or cheaper. I would opt for these tablets over the drinks because I feel that these are more fuss free compared to drinking the collagen drink and definitely much more compact to bring around when travelling or even when buying them home (of course unless you buy online and opt for home delivery than its not an issue)!

You can read up more about the product here and buy IMEDEEN Time Perfection with 25% GSS discount from the website here.

Thank you IMEDEEN Singapore and Touch PR for sending the tablets for review.

Disclaimer: The product has worked for me but I cannot guarantee that it will definitely work for you.

GLAMGLOW Powermud Dual Cleanse (Clay + Oil) Treatment that Gently Cleanses the Skin

Hi Loves~

Today I want to share about GLAMGLOW’s PowerMud Dual Cleanse Treatment, which I was introduced to when they launched at Escentials (a long time back, #blogdebt, hurrr)!

Glam Glow Power Mud Launch 001

A pretty row of stacked up GlamGlow PowerMud~
Glam Glow Power Mud Launch 003

GlamGlow Masks are created by husband and wife team Glenn and Shannon Dellimore, it’s supposedly originally designed for exclusive professional backstage use in Hollywood and was only made available to consumers worldwide in 2011.
Glam Glow Power Mud Launch 004

The introduction of GlamGlow PowerMud comes after their YouthMud (Tingling and Exfoliating treatment), SuperMud  (Clearing treatment) and ThirstyMud (Hydrating treatment). They also have a BrightMud Eye treatment~

Glam Glow Power Mud Launch 002Glam Glow Power Mud Launch 005 Glam Glow Power Mud Launch 006

Food & HicJuice – raw organic and cold pressed drink, super yummy!Glam Glow Power Mud Launch 007

The GlamGlow PowerMud. It’s a mix of both Claymud and Teaoxi aka green tea Oil so it promises to – cleanse, nourish, detox, purify and renew – deeply yet gently cleanses the skin. It smells amazing because of fragrant plant extracts which includes apple, so I really love the smell of the mask itself and when its on my skin. There will be an initial warmth feel after application but it does not get irritable. After removal, skin feels velvety smooth. I left the mask on for 20 minutes and removed it with running water quite easily even though it dried on my face. It doesn’t feel like it soaks up the oil and dirt and cleanse my face like other clay masks I’ve tried because of the oil extract, so it feels more gentle and nourishing. The downside of the mask is its high price point, at more than $90 per bottle.Glam Glow Power Mud Launch 008Thank you Leanne for the invite to the launch and thanks to Escentials  for hosting us and the samples for review! 🙂

Liebster Award Q&A & Nominations!

Hi Loves!
I was nominated by the very lovely and sweet Kymm of Diagonalll Beauty & Lifestyle blog last September for the Liebster Award! Thank you Kymmy! <3 Be sure to check out her blog, as well her answers to her Liebster Award nomination here.
liebsteraward
Basically, it’s an award given to up and
coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers by other bloggers in the community. The word “Liebster” itself is German, meaning “sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, loveliest, cutest, a darling… (and the list goes on, but simply, everything nice)”.
As of today, I have less than 200 (198 to be exact! :P) blog followers on my blog, according to WordPress. I won’t really consider myself as an “up and coming” blogger since this is my 5th year of blogging, but I really appreciate this nomination and even though I procrastinated soooo long, I want to pass on this Liebster Award and love to other bloggers too! 😀
Rules

Thank the person who nominated you by linking their blog.

Answer the 11 questions the nominator gave you.

Nominate 11 other bloggers who have less than 200 followers.

Create 11 questions for your nominees.

Let your nominees know by getting in touch with them.

Kymm’s Questions

1. What made you start your beauty blog?
I started Enabalista in end 2010 when I was still a Fashion Media & Industries (Management) student in LASALLE and wanted to share my behind the scenes photos and review of Fashion Week in Singapore. Then I also decided to include skincare reviews when I signed up to receive and review products from Sample Store. Although I have since stopped reviewing products sent from Sample Store (I had a clause that I could only review a certain’s brand products when I was representing them as their digital ambassador), that was I started my Lifestyle; Fashion, Beauty & more blog. 🙂
2. What are 3 of your must-have beauty items?
1. CC Cushion Compact – Laneige or TheFaceShop Sunscreen Cushion (the colour matches my skin to a T)
2. Lip Balm – Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour
3. Lipstick – current favourites include MAC’s Huggable collection, Etudehouse’s Liquid Lips, L’Oreal’s Colour Riche and Laneige Duo Colour Lip bar.
3. What are 3 of your must-have skincare items?
1. Kose Sun Protect Essence Gel
2. Bioderma Sensibio Makeup Remover
3. Moisturizer for Day and Night, I use several brands, right now I’m trying out Orbis’ Clear Range M Moisturizer.
4. What is one beauty step you have to take everyday before you leave the house (filling in your brows/your cat-eyes)?
Definitely putting on moisturizer and sunblock. That’s 2 steps, I know. 😛
5. What would your dream job be and why?
Business owner, selling products, bringing joy to others and earning money even while I am on my holiday (the business doesn’t stop when I’m travelling)! 😀
6. Write down your favourite quote.
-1-timothy-412-dont-let-anyone-look-down-on-you-because-you-are-young-but-set-an-example-for-the-believers-in-speech
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” – 1 Timothy 4:12
I grew up in church reading this from the bible and hearing youth pastors share and encouraging us with this verse. So I grew up believing that nothing; not youth, not inexperience can stop anyone to be the best they can be. I grew up believing that if a person puts her heart, mind and soul into her goal, she can achieve it. 🙂
7. Dinner before dessert or Dessert before dinner?
Dessert after dinner for sure!
8. Is there a make up step that you’re completely FAIL at? (hahaha! that would be falsies for me)
I’m not really good with Mascaras and Falsies! I don’t apply them often, so I take super long, 15-30 minutes to put them on.
9. Long hair or short hair?
Currently Long. 🙂
10. Would you rather lose all of your make up or skincare items?

This is a tough one! I have a lot more makeup products than skincare items, because I usually use up my skincare products as I use them on a almost daily basis, while I use my makeup products on a rotation basis. I will have to go with, I rather lose my skincare items and I will buy the few important products I use on a daily basis. 😛

These ladies would likely to have more than 200 blog followers, but do take part in this award tag still! 😀

My Nominees
1. Leanne aka Loveforskincare
3. Fenny aka Ladies_Journal
4. Sydney aka Ssydneyho
5.  Cassandra aka Cassansaurus
7. Chevron aka Chvnx
9. Adele aka Axdelwen
10. Hanna Tantoco
11. Selma aka Meteobeauty

My Questions
1. What’s your favourite makeup brand and why?
2. What’s your favourite skincare brand and why?
3. Name 3 Fashion and/or Beauty Influencers’ Blog or Instagram that you follow and personally recommend.
4. Other than blogging, what other hobby/hobbies do you have?
5. List 3 characteristics of a person that attracts you the most.
6. Who is your favourite celebrity / group / band?
7. What’s the most recent movie that you’ve watched and recommend?
8. What’s your favourite song and why?
9. Which app do you use the most on the phone and why?
10. Where do you usually shop (whether online or offline)?
11. List 3 things on your bucket list.
That’s all!
Hope you enjoyed reading this post, I will update their links if they blog about the response!

Collection Cosmetics Bright & Glow Tea Party

Hi lovelies~

Are you on the look out for a BB cream that

Isn’t the decor for the tea party just beautiful? Carpenter & Cook cafe serves up a mean quiche, one that I would definitely love to go back for, despite it being all the way in the West. The same folks behind Carpenter & Cook are also the brains behind a props, styling & events company Heaven In a Wild Flower. Such quirky names! 🙂

Beautiful Leanne was model of the night and we had a lot of fun playing with the make up and doing a mini-photoshoot of sorts. Thanks to Leanne for all the lovely pics!

And now I’ll leave you with a series of pictures I took after I applied the Collection Cosmetics’ Bright & Glow Brightening BB Cream & Compact Foundation that evening~

~ My Review ~

The pics above were taken with normal lightning and has no filters at all. As you can see, the Collection Cosmetics Bright & Glow BB cream was very effective in covering the blemishes on my face. I’ve used it for several days and I really like that the BB cream is lightweight while providing good coverage, does not clog my pores and does not cause a break out. *double thumbs up* It’s safe for oily/combination skin types. PLUS they also last all day. I use the BB cream in 02 (medium to dark) and compact foundation in 02 Ivory.

The BB cream contains mineral pigments that evens out skin tone and conceals imperfection. The formula is further enhanced with Vitamin E and Sodium Hyaluronate, to keep the skin hydrated, as well as Vitamin C contained in light reflective powders to create a brightening effect for an all day glow. It also contains SPF30, protecting skin against UVB rays. The BB cream is specially formulated for Asian skin (despite Collection Cosmetics being a UK cosmetic brand, shows that they’re SERIOUS about entering the Asian market!) and is available in 2 shades, Light-Medium and Medium to Dark. Retails at $16.90 for 30 ml each.

Collections Bright & Glow Review 1 Collections Bright and Glow Review 2

The Bright & Glow Brightening Compact Foundation is made from smooth particles, creating a radiant look without clogging pores. Rich in pigments and mineral powder to even out skin tone and conceal blemishes, it also contains an oil control powder.  After application of the BB cream, the powder helps to set the cream for a longer lasting finish. It’s great for areas such as the forehead, nose and jaw line areas where you want to minimize the shine, but do keep the cheeks untouched/un-powdered for that dewy look. 😉 It is available in 4 shades: Vanilla, Ivory, Almond and Honey, retails at $18.90 each.

I personally think that the BB cream is good for a stand-a-lone product & I would definitely recommended it. For the more conscientious girls, you might want to buy both and bring the compact powder with you for touch ups in the mid day or after work  before you head out for an event or a party. 😉

Collection Cosmetics is available at selected Watsons stores, BHG (Bugis) and their own pop-up store in Cineleisure level 2.

Majolica Majorca & Ma Chérie Floral Enchantress Blogger Event

Have I told you how much I like Majolica Majorca products?

Oh yes I have, I shall quite egoistically quote myself here. 😛

"I love this brand for its fantasy concept… It’s so beautiful lah! *^^* "
 - Ena Teo, Blogger of Enabalista.com

the quote is taken from my previous post, about the Matsuri Day Beauty workshop I attended previously. 🙂

It’s always a pleasure to attend Shishedo events because the team always put in so much creativity & personalization, creating a magical and exciting atmosphere. ^^

This time, it’s the Majolica Majorca x Ma Chérie Floral Enchantress Bloggers’ Event~

At the last ZA event, bloggers were introduced to a reading of “My Lip Personality” based on their lip shape. This game required us to pitch the “crystal” balls through the holes in order to win beauty goodies. Aren’t we glad that technology has improved thus far so that we can actually have safe beauty products? >.<

My eye, hair & lip character reading:

The Sweet Surrender
You’re a combination of sugar & spice, but the twist is your sweetness is the mystery.

The Delectable Mist
You are a motivated & career oriented girl but when the time comes, you can still be playful & cheeky.

The Tantalize Caress
You wear your heart on your sleeve, but your sweetness & soft nature wins the hearts of many.

I think the reading is really quite generic except for the hair reading. HAHA. I am really a motivated and career oriented girl and can be playful when I want to be!

Most recently, Ma Chérie has introduced their refill packs to the market, which is great because it’s environmentally friendly and returning customers get the same amount of goodness at a lower cost! Yay!

The Secret of Ma Chérie’s products is their Champagne Honey Gelee which is a formulation that protects hair from oxidative stress (I wiki-ed to read what it’s about, simply put it means damage to cells from the outside environment…), retains moisture, softens and adds shine to hair. For the specific ingredients and function breakdown you can read from the image above. 😉

Ma Chérie has two range:

1. Air Feel
for volume and shine to fine hair

2. Moisture
for silky lingering smoothness that treats dry ends

Be sure to follow Majolica Majorca and Ma Chérie on their Facebook here and here for their latest product updates, beauty and skin care tips & product giveaways! I won a Majolica Majorca 10th Anniversary Press Kit by taking part in their Facebook giveaway recently, which I’ll blog about soon~ I was really happy to win it cause a blogger won it at the last event and I really really like the Press Kit that came in a classic book box! >.< Us girls and our love for pretty packaging!

Also, they’re having a Oasia hotel staycation giveaway worth $2048, you’ll have to buy $15 (less than the price of one eyeliner!) worth of products, find out how to take part here.

L’Oreal Paris Bloggers’ Event & New EverStrong Thickening Hair & Scalp System Review

Hi lovelies~

I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, like I am~ ^^

A few weeks back, I attended the L’Oreal Paris Hair Bloggers’ Event. Today I’m gonna blog about the event and my reviews of their products from the new range, EVERSTRONG Thickening Sulfate Free Hair & Scalp system. 😉

The bloggers’ event was held at Lime House, 2 Jiak Chuan Road, an in-road from Keong Saik Street.
Heading back there brought back a flood of memories because Keong Saik Street was where I started my first job after JC. The place has changed quite a bit, lesser dingy pubs and more classy restaurants catering to tourists and expats. But it still has that old school charm. I would definitely head back and explore this place again.
The finger food and beverages were just right to feed our empty bellies before the presentation started. After the presentation, we had the chance to have our scalp tested and put our creatively to good use for some floral arrangement!

I love floral arrangements because I love flowers, the beauty they embody and the sweet scent they bring. I also like how floral arrangement allows for relaxation, creativity of expression and zen moments.

Quite coincidentally, the florist L’Oreal invited, Christopher, is the same florist that I learnt floral arrangement from back when I was in JC, so as to enter a floral arrangement competition! 🙂

It was such a pleasure to meet with lovely Leanne at the event who’s always such a dear. Check out her beauty focused instagram @loveforskincare. I am a huge fan of her collages, as they display great use of light and unique eye for aesthetics. <3

L'Oreal Paris EverStrong Singapore Enabalista Review L'Oreal Paris EverStrong Singapore Enabalista Review 3.jpg L'Oreal Paris EverStrong Singapore Enabalista Review 1

~My Review~

I’ve been using L’Oreal Paris EVERSTRONG Thickening sulfate free hair & scalp system for a few weeks now. I can attest that this range of shampoo, conditioner and tonic does a smashing job in fortifying thinning hair and purifying the scalp. I recently had my hair cut as I was finding long hair tough to manage and also getting worried when my hair was dropping quite drastically. I would get a lot of hair dropping whenever I showered and combing my then long hair. However, after getting my hair cut and starting on this hair care range, my hair has thankfully thickened back to normal and my hair loss has decreased. I no longer react to “omg so much hair dropped” in the shower and when I’m combing hair. Even a hair stylist commented just this weekend when I was getting my hair ends curled at a beauty event that I have thick hair, which made me happy! ^^

I am thoroughly loving this hair care range of EVERSTRONG Thickening sulfate free hair shampoo, conditioner and tonic. The shampoo cleanses well, the conditioner does not leave an artificial waxy after feel but rather conditions naturally. This range is unique with their two star ingredients; Rosemary & Mint. Rosemary helps to stimulate hair growth, soothes dry, sensitive scalp and prevents dandruff. While Mint is a well known scalp and follicle stimulant. Using these products in the shower brings a very refreshing feel and scent to my hair and sense. I am very satisfied even long after my shower, knowing how well my hair is cleansed, cared and how good it smells. 😀

Unlike most tonic, this tonic is unique in that it is formulated to be used at the hair roots, to be massaged into your scalp. It is liquid and non oily. I use one spritz and massage from the top of my head and outwards.

Perhaps the only downside to this range of products is that you have to use all three shampoo, conditioner and tonic together to achieve the full desired effect. I always use shampoo and conditioner together (whether with this range or not) because each product has different functions and I tend to have frizzy hair, so conditioner is a must. However my sister commented that when she use the shampoo without the conditioner, her hair and scalp tend to be too drying.

L’Oreal Paris Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner retails at $14.90 for 250ml each, Tonic at $29.90 for 100ml at supermarkets, pharmacies and departmental stores islandwide. I’ve done the math for you, the whole system will cost $59.70. 😉

L'Oreal Paris EverStrong Extraodinary Oil Singapore Enabalista Review

L’Oreal Paris Extraordinary Oil is just as it is named. It is really a superb product. The difference when I apply it on my hair ends compared to when I don’t (on days when I am lazy or in a rush to get out) is remarkable. I do not have a habit of applying hair oil as I tend to find it a hassle and don’t like to have to wash my hands again before I head out. But after using this product, I am now convinced that I have found the solution to frizzy hair and I have found the secret to beautiful hair. I know this sounds damn exaggerating and dramatic, but I kid you not. The reason behind the powers of this oil is due to its flower extracts ingredients: Flax, Tiare, Rose, Lotus, Chamomile and Matricaria. The best part is, the new formulation now comes with UV filter protection, keeping your hair protected from harmful and drying UV rays, keeping it luscious.

Another reason why this hair oil is extraordinary is because its usage is mani-fold. You can use it before you colour your hair, the night before, so that your hair is deeply nourished and well-prepped for colour treatment so that your hair will not be left dry and brittle. Before blow drying. Mix it with your hair mask and as a finishing touch.

I use it as a finishing touch, while my hair is still wet and before blow drying. Just one spritz is sufficient for my whole head’s hair ends and when my hair is dry, it’s smooth and straight the entire day.

L’Oreal Paris Extraordinary Oil retails at $26.90 for 100ml at supermarkets, pharmacies and departmental stores islandwide.

April Boulevard Japanese Masks Review

Hi lovelies~

Don’t you love a good mask after a day’s of work, just to relax in before you rest for the night?

Well, I know that I do! ^^

Thanks to April Boulevard, I’ve been able to enjoy the pleasure of a good mask nightly for many weeks now!

April Boulevard is a local Singapore company that brings in Japanese masks not yet found in Singapore.
They believe that quality masks does not necessarily need to come with a hefty price tag.
The masks are made of 100% Japanese cotton and suitable for daily use.  They are also infused with high tech beauty essence and are consistently top ranked in Japan’s ultra competitive domestic market.
With product prices ranging from $23.90 to $34.90 for a month’s supply (each box comes in a pack of 30 sheets),
April Boulevard is proud to boast that no other product on the local shelves comes close in terms of pricing for the quality of masks offered.

April Boulevard sent me 3 of their best sellers for review:

April Boulevard Japanese Skincare Review April Boulevard Japanese Skincare Review

Such a sweet note from them! ^^

The formula for these daily masks are not as potent or concentrated as the weekly masks.
Thus they are meant for daily maintenance and can be used / replacement for moisturizers at night.
One may choose to apply moisturizers after the masks, if one feels the skin requires.

Usage:
Leave mask on for 10-15 minutes. No washing required after application.

Their best selling masks are:

1. SPC Japan Snail Mask
Though snail essence is not new to Japan’s skincare industry,
this ingredient is only starting to gain popularity in Singapore.
The mask is great for treating dull skin as snail secretion helps regenerates the skin cells.
Available online here.

~My review~
The mask itself is colourless, scentless and fragrance-less.
After using this masks continuously for a few days, my skin feels hydrated and smoother.
The effect is also visible and retained after a night’s rest.
This formula feels slightly richer / more nourishing when compared to the other two masks.
The cutting of the mask is slightly off compared to the other two Japan Gals masks.
It might affect me as my face is slightly smaller than usual. But I don’t have an issue for the Japan Gal masks. 🙂

April Boulevard Japanese Skincare Review
2.  Japan Gals
Pure 5 Essence (Hyaluronic Acid)
Hyaluronic Acid is well known for its intense hydration effect on the skin.
This range is superb for those with sensitive skin as it has no alcohol content.
Available online here.

~My review~
I am a fan of hyaluronic acid skincare products, whether it’s in moisturizers or lip gels as it keeps my skin
that much more hydrated by locking the moisture in for a longer period of time.
After use, my skin is visibly refreshed and more supple.
The mask has a refreshing and light aqua scent, which may appeal to those who love aqua-based products.

VC stands for Vitamin C and Nano-C stands for nano collagen.
These are the 2 key ingredients for this mask. There are no artificial colouring, fragrance and mineral oil.
It has anti-aging, whitening and hydrating functions all in one mask.
Hence this is a favourite among  April Boulevard’s customers.
Available here.

~My review~
Vitamin C is known for its many positive effects of boosting restoration
as well as lightening blemishes and whitening to one’s original skin tone.
Nano-C helps to retain and firm one’s collagen in the skin.
After use, my skin is hydrated and fairer.
I can’t attest to the anti-aging aspect cause I haven’t used it for super long and plus my skin is still young. (Cue awkward smile.)
Nonetheless, it’s hard to top a mask that has hydrating, whitening and anti-aging functions.
Even if I can’t see the anti-aging effect, it’s like an added bonus to the other two functions.
This is my favourite mask of the 3! 🙂

I like the Japan Gals masks as the quality is good in terms of the cotton, cut as well as the essence used.
Also the packaging is super pretty for the VC+Nano-C mask, so you can also consider buying it as a gift. 😉
I think girls always love receiving masks as gifts cause you can never have enough
and they can always be kept for use in the future (not to long away).

Human Nature Hair Care, Body Care & Make Up Review

Hi guys!

Are you an organic skincare and beauty lover? If so, today’s post will be super relevant for you!

If you’re not, fret not, cause it’s still good to know more about this affordable organic brand, Human Nature! 😉

Human Nature started out in Philippines in 2008 with the vision to be one of Philippines’ leading social enterprises, they have two goals, which is 1) Sustainable Living for the Poor and to be 2) Faithful Stewards of our Only Planet. Find out more about how they achieve these meaningful goals on their site here.

Recently Christine from Human Nature Singapore reached out to me through email to review their products, after a few email exchanges, a box of products was promptly sent over. I took a few weeks to test and review the products, and here it is! 🙂

Human Nature Natural Moisturizing Shampoo Conditioner Review

Human Nature Natural Moisturizing Shampoo (left) and Conditioner (right) in Mandarin Fresh.
Available here and here.
My shampoo was just about to run out and I was wondering what other brand I would try next,
so I was certainly glad to receive these two lovely products. I love the tangy zesty smell of the shampoo and how it cleanses gently and effectively. The conditioner has organic virgin coconut oil which is an age old secret for beautifully shiny, deeply moisturized hair, which I LOVE. After usage, my long hair is smooth and tangle free!

Human Nature 100% Natural Hand and Foot Salve

Human Nature 100% Natural Hand & Foot Salve in Strawberry.
Available here.
The difference between a salve and a lotion is that salve aids healing. Thus this salve soothes and softens dry and cracked skin. Luckily for me, my hands and legs are rather smooth, so I can’t exactly bear testament to its effectiveness for what it’s touted for. But what I can say, is that does leave a residual grease after application which will be less apparent after 10 min. I would recommend this, if you have cracked skin, between your toes or on the ball or heel of your feet. Apply it just before you sleep and I trust that your skin will be better.

Human Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipstick Review

Human Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipsticks; Lucky in Love (left) & First Kiss (right).

Human Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipstick First Kiss ReviewHuman Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipstick First Kiss Review 2

Human Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipstick in First Kiss
Available here.
I definitely love how pigmented the color is. True to its name, it’s hydrating and that must be because of it’s formulation with an extra dose of cocoa butter added to passion fruit seed oil and sunflower oil. The result is a natural and healthy looking lips. I wore it to work and I love how it does not dry up my lips, which some lipstick do. I have also previously used an organic lip balm with cocoa butter, so I know I love the ingredient in this as it’s good for my lips.

Human Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipstick Lucky in Love ReviewHuman Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipstick Lucky in Love Review 2

Human Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipstick in Lucky in Love
Available here.
Lucky in Love is a deep red colour which has a slight gloss effect because of the hydrating effect of the lipstick. It would be ideal for a date night when you are looking to have plump or luscious red lips.

Human Nature Sunflower Cleansing Oil

Human Nature Sunflower Cleansing Oil
Available here.
This is a very effective cleansing oil, which is in my opinion ideal for heavier duty make up removal. If you’re like me and you tend to veer away from oil based cleansers, than this might not be ideal. It would be suitable for days when you’re attending a formal or glam event with full on mascara, eyeliner, foundation in layers… you get my drift. Or perhaps you’re a stage performer and you’re looking for something natural, gentle on your skin while effectively and quickly removing your thick makeup. This, my friends, would be it.;)

If you want to buy their products, be sure to key in ENA15 before check out to enjoy 15% off on ALL products!
This is valid till this Sunday, 9 March, so don’t wait! 😉

That is all for my Human Nature review! 🙂

Thanks for reading, love you.<3
