Singapore Fashion Week 2015 Recap

Hi loves!

Well you’ve probably seen my IG updates from months back when I attended a few shows from Singapore Fashion Week, mostly the young designers show, namely LASALLE Graduation show & Harpers Bazaar Next Gen show. Also attended the Star Creation & Zalora shows but did not manage to snap any nice photos so there’s none from those shows for this post~ 😛

While I definitely enjoyed both LASALLE Grad show and Harpers Bazaar Next Gen show – I find that LASALLE show designs focused more on artistic concepts & were more explorative, understandably as it’s an arts school (and my Alma mater, where I studied Fashion Media & Industries, majoring in Management), while Harpers’ show designs were a lot more “commercialized”, collections that look like they already belonged in the store. There’s no critical judgement from me either ways, as I would love to have pieces from select designers (you’ll know which from my comments/captions below, heh) from both shows in my wardrobe!

Alright, enough with my introductions~2015-05-14 08.54.51 2015-05-14 08.54.53 2015-05-14 08.54.55 2015-05-14 08.54.56Loving my make up for the day, hence the slew of selfies, heh. Am missing my hair from those days before I bleached it. Lol.
2015-05-14 09.37.58Getting ready to meet my inspiration, Miroslava Duma. In case you don’t know her, she was a fashion magazine editor, currently a street style icon and founder of buro247.com – which is now present in more than 7-8 countries featuring luxury fashion and lifestyle topics. She’s extremely well connected, business minded and savvy! While she still look like a teenager, she’s in her thirties and she has 2 kids! Don’t ask me how she does it!

2015-05-14 23.28.40Met up with Sifra my LASALLE school mate & Smita for the talk!
2015-05-14 10.25.37The emcee did such a bad job honestly. Her questions were so bad, some didn’t even make sense. It would have been much better if Duma and Dion Lee interviewed each other. It was such a waste that we did not get to hear more from the two of them as the questions were a waste of time/did not make sense.2015-05-14 23.35.44Nonetheless, with the little that was shared, it was inspiring to hear from Duma, who shared about having good work ethics – you’ve got to work for it, don’t expect things to drop down from the sky!
2015-05-14 11.13.26-2And got a pic with her!!! <3 Thanks to Smita! <3

2015-05-14 14.15.59Snapped a pic of this dude with this crazy and cool tiger head bag.

2015-05-15 21.10.02Headed to Chez Vous to get my hair done for Star Creation later in the evening. Belatedly realize that I should have gone for sleek back hair since I was wearing a rather edgy dress. Ohwells!
2015-05-14 22.25.20With cuties Q-li & Jem whom I met at SFW!

Day 2 of SFW, decided to have my hair done at the salon near my place before heading down!

And after it’s done, selfie taken on the cab! Decided to go for a very defined and red carpet-style hair and makeup look. Sleek hair back is actually no longer on trend since it’s been done 2-3 years back, but who cares as long as I like the look, heh!

Pink Hair for Hope with Hairdreams Singapore

Hi Loves!

You might have noticed the pink streaks in my hair since last week. I paid a visit to Hairdreams Singapore to experience and share about their ‘Pink Hair for Hope’ campaign and hair creation package which costs $80, and 20% of the proceeds will be donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation and is available for the whole month of October.

This includes the application of the stripes, wash and blow dry, and subsequent removal at the salon. This hair creation lasts up to three months, giving those in support a chance to spread the awareness of the support for Breast Cancer.

The last time I had coloured streaks hair extensions was when I was 21… For a rock & roll themed bday party. 💁😎✊😆 I’m glad that the extensions I have now is for an even more meaningful cause!

Stylista Korean Beauty & Fashion Workshop

Hi Loves!

Stylista Bloggers Korean Beauty & Fashion Workshop 0262 weeks ago, Stylista squad held our first Korean Beauty & Fashion workshop and here’s what went down!

Thanks to our location sponsor Park Regis Singapore, we held a cosy and intimate workshop session at their Melbourn Room on level 2. I recommend this hotel for business travellers as it’s conveniently located 5 min away from Clark Quay MRT station, plus you can also enjoy the night life nearby after work. It’s also great for a local staycation over the weekends as it’s newly refurbished and fully equipped with swimming pool, gym and dining restaurants.
Park Regis Singapore 001Before the event took place, we had a quick tour around the hotel and it’s lovely! Once entering the hotel at ground floor, you’ll find seating spaces, restaurant and bar to hang out and chill.
Park Regis Singapore 003At the check in lobby, you’ll find free flow refreshment drink and a long counter that comes with seats to cater to the business travellers that come in from long haul flights.

There are 202 rooms and they come in 4 types; Park,  Merchant,  Quay & Regis (Suites). Park and Merchant are the standard rooms, with Park facing the office buildings while Merchant has a view of Clark Quay. Quay rooms are on the second floor with direct exit to the pool. Regis refer to the exclusive suite rooms.

Park Regis Singapore 012 Park Regis Singapore 013 Park Regis Singapore 010 Park Regis Singapore 007 Park Regis Singapore 006Regis rooms are suite rooms located from the 2nd to the 7th floor, they are bigger and some come with attached balcony, as in the one above that we viewed.

After the tour, we got back to the function room to prepare for the event.  Thanks to Floral Garage Singapore for sponsoring the floral arrangements for the table setting and baby breaths for our attendees’ goodie bag!

Next up, we shared about key Korean skincare and makeup looks, trends and tips using our makeup partner, LANEIGE products.

Stylista Bloggers Korean Beauty & Fashion Workshop 027Not forgetting our hair sponsor Chez Vous for the hair services vouchers, Polished Hand + Foot Spa for mani+pedi vouchers as well as Kenny Bite Production for capturing the event happenings!

Stylista Bloggers Korean Beauty & Fashion Workshop 008With a heart full of love and gratitude, I’d like to also give special thanks to my sisters & friends Jia Hui, Lu Jia, Ying Ling, Christabelle, Clarabelle, Leanne, Smita and Leon. Thank you for your prayers and encouragements. Thank you Jesus that you’ve made it all possible. It hasn’t been an easy journey to organize and prepare for an event like this for the first time but it’s made possible because everything fell into place with thanks to our sponsors and in accordance to God’s perfect timing. The Stylista squad definitely has a lot to improve on and we’ve definitely learnt a lot from this. If there’s only one thing you can take away from my post today, I hope it’s this:

You will never be fully prepared to fulfil your goals. Whether you fail or succeed, the act of taking a risk will stretch you. And it’s in taking that step of faith, out of your comfort zone that you will learn much and be closer to your goals. Don’t stop dreaming and never give up. One day you’ll look back and be thankful that you didn’t give up.

If you haven’t, be sure to follow me on IG @ena_teo for my updates!

Casual Days

Hi Loves!

What’s your idea of a casual weekend? Mine’s definitely hanging with family or friends over food – whether cafe hopping, at the mall’s, my place or theirs. Had the chance to pop by Christabelle‘s place the other weekend and took the chance to also take some outfit shots around her place. And while reviewing these photos, I belatedly realize… that I am back to leaning towards monochrome colours for my wardrobe. Black, white & greys are just so easy to mix and match with… and easy to throw on in the morning too!

Although I have 2 similar dresses, one sleeveless and another short-sleeved, I just needed to get this when I saw it, hahaha. #Obsessed. I imagine this is the perfect dress to wear to support your favourite boy or sports player for a game. Throw on a black moto jacket or a jazzy bomber jacket and you’re ready to attend a concert or throw a party for your favourite rockstar. This particular dress is sold out, for more Unif dresses, check out Revolve Clothing here. I got this DIOR NOT WAR singlet/tee from Malacca! Sometimes you can get really cute slogan tees from the market stalls. If you’re looking for something similar online, see this. Or if you prefer sleeved tees, which are reallyyy comfy, I totally recommend this cute OBEY Glitch Garden tee.  For shorts, nothing else beats American Eagle’s Outfitters’. I got these cut off shorts at their Vivo City outlet, I highly recommend you check them out if you haven’t! And if you’re wondering about the lace up sandals, these are from Zalora, you can get them here. Relaxing Weekend Getaway at ParkRoyal On Pickering

Hi Loves!

Recently I had the pleasure to indulge in a staycation at ParkRoyal  on Pickering, Singapore’s first hotel in a garden. The entire stay passed like a breeze, thanks to the great service, wonderful lush atmosphere and lovely food and drinks served. My bestie Fion and I stayed at the Orchid Club Deluxe Room and enjoyed access to the Orchid Club Lounge which provides afternoon tea, cocktail and breakfast. I fell in love with the hotel’s architecture which integrates organic lines and greenery so seamlessly. All in all, I definitely recommend this place as a weekend getaway for locals and a hotel of choice for foreigners! If you’re looking for activities recommendations, check out The Ultimate Singapore Day Out web app to plan your day according to your personality. 😉

Vibrant Fashion Steps Out 2015 @ Orchard Road

Hi Loves!

A while back a group of Clozette ambassadors and I attended Fashion Steps Out 2015 @ Orchard Road and here are the photos from the media preview and actual evening! It’s my second consecutive FSO and I really enjoy the vibrancy of watching the models sashay down the road instead of the traditional runway! Plus it’s just so much fun to be there and enjoy the evening with friends. 😀

Face Your Inner Demons // DEPRESSION Spring Summer 2015 @ DFW2014

DEPRESSION introduced their SS 2015 collection titled “Inner Demons” to much applause at Digital Fashion Week 2014. I love the womenswear in this very street style chic collection and would totes wear all of them out. DEPRESSION is arguably Singapore’s most recognisable local label and that is undoubtedly testament to the super duo Kenny & Andrew’s talent in story telling, persistent and unending efforts in introducing compelling collections every season and cross promotions with brands and celebrities. New and inspiring local designers and labels should definitely study them as a role model on how to succeed in SG and beyond. It is thus definitely well deserved that they are included in the SG50 book as one of the pride and representative of local brand and talents. Without any more further ado, check out the collection below!

Abstract Prints for Sarah Morris x Longchamp Collection

HI Loves!

Sometime back, Fenny invited me to attend Longchamp’s special Sarah Morris collection launch at their ION outlet. Sarah Morris is an abstract print designer and together with Longchamp, they created a series of bags with her prints and limited edition colours. I’m not sure if they’re still in stock, lol cause I’m posting this about half a year later, oops! Since Longchamp bags are so common nowadays, it’s nice for them to release LE bags which are more unique. Anyhoos, it was really fun attending the launch with Fenny and we had salad for dinner at Watami after! 😛Longchamp x Sarah Morris Collection Enabalista 004 Longchamp x Sarah Morris Collection Enabalista 005 Longchamp x Sarah Morris Collection Enabalista 003 Longchamp x Sarah Morris Collection Enabalista 001 Longchamp x Sarah Morris Collection Enabalista 002 Longchamp x Sarah Morris Collection Enabalista 006 Longchamp x Sarah Morris Collection Enabalista 007x

Fashion Stylist Keith Png’s Tips for Different Body Types

Hi Loves!

Keith Png held a fashion demo giving tips for different body types at Tommy Hilfiger for their FW collection (I know I know, this is a #superbelatedblogpost T_T#) and I was really pretty inspired after the demo!Keith Png Fashion Workshop for Tommy Hilfiger 002

Keith styling the model with a scarf – a little accessory goes a long way! Also, he shared that pear shaped women should use a clutch strategically over the waist area during events and photo-taking to give a slimmer silhouette! I love this tip!

Pear-shaped women should also dress with dark bottoms and brighter or patterned tops, just like the outfit he picked out above.

Another tip Keith shared was to use bags that are wider instead of longer, because it completes the overall look better – plus from personally experience, wider bags are more functional! Keith Png Fashion Workshop for Tommy Hilfiger 007 Keith Png Fashion Workshop for Tommy Hilfiger 008

One more tip for women who would like to have a fuller bust, is to wear outfits that have more details in the front as well as to accessorise with a belt and emphasise on a small/er waist.Keith Png Fashion Workshop for Tommy Hilfiger 010

SFW 2015: Harper’s Bazaar’s Asia New Gen Fashion Designer Award 2015 Happening This Sat

Hi Loves!

It’s time for Singapore Fashion Week again!

If you haven’t, check out the video compilation of the awesome designs from last year’s designers! I personally liked the Harper’s Bazaar’s Asia New Gen Fashion Designer Award designs better then the Star Creations. As the designs were more wearable and commercially viable – I wanted to wear a lot of the designs! 😀

More about the Harpers Bazaar’s Asia New Gen Fashion Designer 2015,  the winner of the competition will be awarded a scholarship for a Master’s degree in fashion from the prestigious Istituto Marangoni (worth GBP26,700; about $56,430) in either its Paris, London or Milan campuses. He or she will also have the opportunity to retail their collection to a global market through online retailer, Inverted Edge. Over and above all this, the winner and all 10 finalists’ collections will be showcased in the five sponsoring Asian editions of Harper’s BAZAAR.

Since 2013, the top finalists from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore have received immeasurable publicity and support from the industry: From having their collections featured in the pages of the magazine, to getting the opportunity to showcase them at Fashion Weeks in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and more around the region.

The five editors from Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam will be on the judging panel in this regional competition. The finalists would be judged on the following criteria to ensure they have what it takes to succeed on a global scale: 1) Imagination and originality 2) Consistency 3) Technical knowledge in garment construction 4) Commercial viability of their designs and 5) Business and marketing acumen.

I’m looking forward to see the designers and their designs come this Saturday!

Fresh L.A. Look with Chez Vous Hair

Hi Loves!

A while back I headed back to Chez Vous for a new look, I didn’t have any particular look in mind and just trusted hair stylist Jamie to do what she’s good at. 😉 She told me that I’d look good with blond highlights, so I just went ahead with it! Very adventurous, I know. I very surprised by the look at first because I wasn’t used to the blond / ash highlights. But majority of my friends remarked that its a fresh new look and that they like this look… I sorta feel like Elsa (more specifically should be the younger sister Anna, hahaha) from the Disney animated movie, Frozen. I think that with this look, I feel like an L.A. girl, if I may say so myself, LOL.

Check out my “new” look
(well, not so new anymore since I take forever to post it up, lol):

Party Up in Risis Style

Hi Loves~

*:. Happy New Year! .:*

First of all, I am so super happy that we’re in 2015 right now. 2014 hasn’t been the worst but neither has it been the best and I am just so grateful to enter into the new year and I believe with all my heart that 2015 is going to be a so much better year for me – at work, in life and blogging too! Taking the time to wish all of you a wonderful 2015 – may the new year bring you greater joy & successes in all that you do!!!

Now onto the blog post proper, back in late November, Risis threw a party in style – if there’s any store party that I’ve attended and loved in 2014, it’d be Risis’ – humourous styling workshop with celebrity stylist Keith Png, beautiful jewelery, good food, makeup and nails booth – a girl’s heaven! Truth be told, I wasn’t in my best of form as I was feeling under the weather and having a bad hair day, lol. Nonetheless that didn’t keep me from enjoying the event with my friend and sweetie pie Christabelle!

Scroll down to check out my photos & captions from the event. 😉

Keith demonstrating how to layer up jewellery on the hands. He also shared how to spot whether you’re warm or cool skin tone – greenish veins means warm while blueish veins means cool. My veins are greenish so I have warm skin tone. Warm skin tones suit gold coloured jewellery while cool skin tones suit silver coloured jewellery. That said, I usually have no problem wearing either – in the sense that I think I look okay with both gold and silver – and I prefer silver for day to day jewellery and wear gold for special occasions.

Keith proceeds to show us how to match jewellery for different looks and occasions, beginning with more casual and office looks.
