Renaza’s 8th Anniversary Party

Hi Loves!

Renaza Wellness turned 8 back in August and celebrated their 8th Anniversary with a bang at their Palais Renaissance outlet. Thanks to Clozette, I had the chance to indulge in a manicure session, a gua sha session followed by tasty refreshments and the most remarkable rose inspired cocktails. It’s frankly the best cocktails I remember having at a beauty event, so fitting to the theme, sweet and refreshing as well! Now you know if you’re out and about around this part of town and need a manicure session or facial, you can visit them!

DKNY MY NY Fragrance Launch & Review

Hi Loves!

A while back I attended the launch of DKNY MY NY fragrance line at 1Altimate at One Raffles Place. DKNY MY fragrance is an energetic and sensual scent with Raspberries and Pink Pepper top notes, Egyptian Jasmine at the heart and ends off  with musk and as it’s named, it celebrates the the vibrant women in New York. I am a fan of floral and fruity frangrance, so DKNY MY NY is right up my alley, plus the fragrance bottle is reminiscent of urban cityscape and it’s so stylish. I love to wear this out at night with friends. The fragrance campaign is headlined by Rita Ora, UK born singer songwriter but raised and madly in love with the New York life. I have never been to US, and as it is, I too am enamoured with the Big Apple city, due to scenes from the Gossip Girl and Suits dramas that I’ve watched/been watching. I would love to be able to live in and experience the city as a local someday. If you’d like, visit the DKNY MY NY Microsite and create your very own personalized collage of your NY. Enjoy the video campaign & photos of the launch & fragrance! 😉

Make Up Store Autumn 2014 Collection Preview @ Gilman Barracks

Hi Loves!

Sometime back I was invited down to Make Up Store’s Autumn’s 2014 collection preview and along with media and VIP guests we got to see 3 beautiful and very artistic looks from the autumn collections, namely Art, Scream & Paint. You’ll see why they are named that way in the photos! I really loved how the entire preview was presented. It was hosted at an art gallery at Gillman Barracks, amidst beautiful art pieces and decorated canvases according to the 3 themes and looks. Then the host presented the models and a make up artist explained the inspiration, make up & colours behind each look. There was also a host of “live canvases” models for us to test the make up on, but I think all of us were too shy to actually “paint” on their faces! 😛 So we mostly just helped ourselves to the make up bars held up by the lovely ladies and swatched the make up and I was very, very intrigued by the double coloured lipsticks and very very lovely marbled blushers, creamy and pigmented lipsticks and lip liners. You’ll see!

My picks from the collection, the prettiest marbled blusher Roso Verona, Lipsticks in Duo Graphic & Duo Claude, Lip liner in Dali Matt & Lip stick pen in Boysenberry. How cute that the make up are named after artists? Totally love the entire concept! I have to admit that I can’t bear to use the blusher and lipsticks…. >.< They are soo pretty that I don’t bear to ruin them. T_T”‘

Here’s a look that I wore out that day!

Using Dali Lipliner and Boysenberry Lipstick Pen… super love the colour! Very long lasting too. However the only think i wish for is that the Lipstick Pen to come in a dispensable plastic holder instead of a wooden pencil…

Pan Pacific’s The Edge 4 Hour Sunday Champagne Brunch Review

Hi Loves!

A few months back, I completed a survey for Expat Living magazine and was kindly gifted a pair of tickets for Pan Pac’s The Edge’s Sunday Champagne brunch. So I invited my sister to come a long with me and it was such an unforgettable meal! We had so much fun indulging in wagyu beef, salmon sashimi, pork sausages, iberco ham and of course an unlimited amount of Veuve Cliquot champagne.  Guests can also order a limited offering of red wine and shiraz as part of the buffet. My personal favourites would be the wagyu beef and fine du claire fresh raw oysters. The buffet spread is very comprehensive to say the least and I would highly recommend this place for fine dining and champagne lovers.  Tickets are at $168++ per pax. There’s a package where 2 guests get a bed, brunch & bliss staycation with a late check out on Sunday at 5pm for $525 for 2. Perfect for a special occasion! For more details and booking you can visit Pan Pac site here.

I would love to go for another free flow champagne brunch again, let me know if you have a place to recommend!

Hot Tomato & Nana’s Green Tea Review

Hi Loves!

I’ve just got back from my BKK trip with my sisters this afternoon, it’s been a great trip and I can’t wait to share about the trip on my blog. 🙂 I’ve got an embarrasingly long list of blogging back log and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I can complete it before the year ends, hahaha! 😛

Quite a while back, the Kose cinderella contest finalists/girls and I met up for dinner at Somerset. At Gina’s suggestion, we had dinner at Hot Tomato at 313 basement and it was my first time at Hot Tomato cafe. I was quite pleasantly surprised with the taste and portion at an affordable price about $12 if my memory is right, as I’ve not heard of any reviews of Hot Tomato and didn’t quite know what to expect. I really enjoyed the mango flavored salmon pasta and would most definitely order it again when I am back. We then headed to Nana’s Green Tea cafe at Orchard Central for desserts and the green tea matcha soft serve did not disappoint and the recommended Green Tea tiramisu was also very soft and delicious. As usual, our meet up was full of jokes & laughter, love spending time with the Kose girlies. 😛

All in all it was a great dinner and meet up. Have you any good dinner and desserts recommendation? Let me know! Wishing you all a great week!

Fun & Food-filling Weekend Trip to Malacca

Hi Loves!

A few months back, my secondary school mates and I headed to Muar & Malacca for a weekend road trip and here’s a post of the food places and fun destinations that we’ve been! I personally highly recommend Malacca as a road trip destination with friends because it’s relatively near Singapore, inexpensive, has great food and overall just a perfect & fun weekend getaway destination! 😉 Following this trip, I made another similar trip with my colleagues… Which I suppose I’ll get around to blogging about it in due time. 😛 As you should probably know by now, I take forever and a day to get my blog posts up… I’ve got tons of content and I need to get them up, but man, it’s hard to find time and the mojo to blog with work and activities during the weekend (and I also need time to chill too!). Anyhoos, it’s gonna be a super long blog post with 100+ photos and captions, grab your popcorn and enjoy the read! 🙂

We’re not in Malaysia yet, here’s my clams noodles from Asian Kitchen at Bugis+ where we met up for dinner! I personally think this was super yums, maybe because I’m a huge fan of clams – especially in soup! <3

We walked past SeoulYummy at Bugis+, which I actually happened to pop by for dinner just recently, and they have all these funny & cute heart papers attached to “love locks” where couples/friends/narcissists can leave love notes to one another/themselves. 😛

And off we go! ^^

Our super delicious lunch at Asam Pedas Parit Jawa. I thought it was traditional Malaysian food, but after posting it on Instagram, my Indonesian friends commented that these are traditional Indonesian food. So I don’t really know which it is, anyhoo it was super yummy ok! Malacca Trip Blog Review and Recommendations 013

Snaps of our view while on the road: traditional shophouses, lots of Palm plantations & telephone lines criss-crossing in the skies.

Oh look, Ma! Yunno, just a tractor refuelling at the petrol station! 😛

Then we headed to AK Extreme Go Kart & Paintball Arena at Plaza Hang Tuah (Plaza Ocean), Jalan Tun Mahmat, 75300 Melaka, Melaka for Go Kart! We didn’t know they had Paintball as well, but as we didn’t prepare change of clothes, we couldn’t play that. Now that you know, prepare change of clothes for some paintball fun while you’re there! 🙂

For Go Kart we paid RM30/~SGD12 for 10min. It might seem a short period, but it was about 13 laps and doesn’t seem that short a time! Unfortunately the one car I was on kept on stalling, but all my friends didn’t have issues with theirs. Overall, I’d still recommend this place.

At the A Famosa Fortress, which I honestly didn’t read up about before I went, and I’ve been there twice. 😛 In summary, in 1511 the Portuguese arrived, attacked and defeated the armies of the Malacca Sultanate. Then they built this fortress and it changed hands twice thereafter, first to the Dutch, then the British and perhaps an interesting link to Singapore would be found in this line: “The fort was almost totally demolished but for the timely intervention of Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of modern Singapore, who happened to visit Malacca in 1810. Because of his passion for history, this small gate was spared from destruction.”

Who knew that because of Sir Stamford Raffles’ decision, this fortress would attract to many tourists to Malacca today? 🙂

Then we decided to climb up and across the hill to head to Jonker Street…

I must have mentioned Jonker Street like 2-3 times already, and it is really the highlight of Malacca, in my opinion. It’s best to coincide your visit on a weekend (Fri-Sun & Public Holiday) night, so you get to see the night market starting at 7pm! I’ve actually been there on weekday afternoons but the best experience is definitely one with the night market!!

The entire street starts with San Shu Gong, a famous traditional food snacks shop and basically we started off eating from the Satay Lok Lok food truck parked at the start and eating, and eating, and eating (yes you get my idea) all the way to the end before walking right back. #SingaporeansConfirmPlusChopCanEatMalacca Trip Blog Review and Recommendations 065 Malacca Trip Blog Review and Recommendations 066 Malacca Trip Blog Review and Recommendations 104

Hours: Daily 8:00am to 5:00pm

For the record, we were there at 3pm so it was a late lunch and the lunch crowd was dying and the service took really long. 🙁 So it wasn’t a very pleasant experience but the food was undoubtedly good and I will go back again but I think best to be in the morning or during lunch timing. I’m not sure if the service is always that slow (have to wait quite long for them to refill the soup) or it’s because it was quite late so the stock was running low, but hopefully at earlier timings you get better service.

Mane Changing Experience at Revamped Chez Vous Salon

Hi Loves !

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you’ll know that I recently had a mane changing experience; I now have shorter shoulder long hair with a red dye at the ends and beneath my hair surface.

Today I’m sharing about my experience at this marvelous salon that is the newly revamped Chez Vous hair salon!

IMG_9063.JPG
A little history and background about Chez Vous Hair Salon before we begin. Founded by Thomas Teo & Riz Tan, they first started out at Bugis before becoming today’s 30 seat luxury salon at Ngee Ann City. Chez Vous Salon’s been around for 19 years and they’re also the only salon in Singapore with an “OHDA” policy with stands for “Only Hair Directors Allowed”. So you can rest assure that your mane is in good hands when you’re there! In fact a lot of Chez Vous’ clienteles are C-level executives, man and women who hold high level positions at work and need to maintain a professional image without any hassle.

So, Chez Vous Hair Salon’s just undergone a revamp and other than bringing in a redefined thematic layout and designer interior, part of the reason for this revamp stems from the founders & partners desire to re-inject the joy of a hair salon experience. They realized that customers are increasingly grumpy and stressed whenever they come for their hair cut and treatments, sometimes even whipping out their laptops and busy at work even while at the salon. So with this revamp, Chez Vous salon hopes that their customers can come to find joy at the salon; be pampered, feel soothed and relaxed with the services and facilities in place!

IMG_9058.JPG

At the entrance of the salon, a wall of colourful hands welcome customers and is also symbolic of all the staff that has built Chez Vous to what it is today. Such a beautiful concept!

IMG_9059.JPG
At the HYDRA BAR, customers can fill up with Laduree chocolates, sweets & tea, should they be required to wait when they arrive at the appointment time.

IMG_9062.JPG
The WOW private room is decked in rainbow lights and is prepared for the most discerning of clients, it’s also fitted with hair scalp diagnosis equipment and a fully fitted room for all hair treatments.

IMG_9065.JPG
There are 3 COCOON domes located the the center of the salon for customers who prefer a little more privacy for their treatments and makeovers.

IMG_9070.JPG
At the back of the salon is the SPLASH room with coloured soft fabrics decking the ceiling, each Colour representing a value that the salon believes; White for Peace, Orange for Energetic, Red for Passion and Purple for Joy. 🙂

IMG_9066.JPG
Another remarkable key design piece in the salon is this handsome wood panelled face sculpture that transforms according to the viewers’ perspective. This is evocative of Chez Vous’ experimental and innovative ways, constantly transforming and improving their skills and treatments in the hair industry that makes them one of the leading salon in Singapore.

IMG_9097.JPG
As a show of support to the local fashion design scene, Chez Vous will also feature fashion designs from local personalities in store. At the time of my visit, they were showcasing Depression’s FW2014 designs. Coincidentally, on that very Sunday evening, I was attending Depression’s SS2015 runway at Digital Fashion Week! So I was very pleasantly surprised to find their pieces in the salon.

IMG_9073.JPG
After a tour of the salon, I was ushered to my seat and reviewed the two books. The first serves as a guide to all the services available at the salon.

IMG_9074.JPG

IMG_9076.JPG
Complimentary services include wifi, Samsung tablet for games, web surfing, movies, free mobile phone charging service, pillow & newspapers.

IMG_9077.JPG
A generous array of teas & coffees for selection. I had a latte!

IMG_9078.JPG

IMG_9082.JPG
You’ll find a tablet at each pod, so that each customer can be kept entertained throughout the session!

IMG_9079.JPG

IMG_9080.JPG
After a hair wash, hair director Jamie proceeded to chop off a substantial portion of my hair. What do you think?

IMG_9071.JPG

IMG_9081.JPG
A look at the Experligent Service guide book shows the types of services and treatments you can choose from, or you can simply discuss with the hair directors and they can recommend you what’s best and tailor make a treatment for you.

IMG_9084.JPG
Next I had my hair coloured, by Slicer, whose name is inspired by “潇洒”,which roughly translates to Cool in English. He is pretty cool, isn’t he?

IMG_9088.JPG

IMG_9089.JPG

IMG_9087.JPG
Then I had a hair treatment session, as per Jamie’s recommendation for my slightly dry hair.

IMG_9091.JPG

IMG_9090.JPG
The final result of my new hair colour & cut, under the expert hands of Jamie & Slicer! ^_^

IMG_9092.JPG
Thanks to Eugene, Chez Vous’ brand director for giving me such a detailed tour and background of the salon and for also providing me recommendations with addresses for my upcoming trip to BKK! So thoughtful and considerate!!!

IMG_9086.JPG

IMG_9085.JPG
The list of recommended places to visit while at BKK.

IMG_9094.JPG

IMG_9093.JPG

So happy with my new hair cut & colour. ^^

IMG_9098.JPG

The Redken shampoo & conditioner that I brought home to lock in the colours for my hair. The brown and red colours were indeed very much locked in and I didn’t have much colour fade out during the initial washes! There’s also a tub of hair masque that I didn’t capture, but it’s this really awesome hair salon grade masque given by Chez Vous that makes my hair really soft. ^^

IMG_9096-0.JPG
Eugene was showing me their Amplified Hair Rebonding solution used to break the hair bonds, in PH6, unlike the usual PH9. Paper remains yellow for the PH6 solution versus paper turning green for the PH9 solution. Undoubtedly the PH9 solution is stronger but also more damaging. With this PH6, and the Amplified Hair Rebonding treatment, customers can rebond their hair up to every quarter of the year and get smoother hair yet without compromising on the health of the hair!!! I hope to be able to try this treatment the next time! ^^

Chez Vous will be introducing a Expertligent Fix You Programme! If your hair is damaged either by cut, colour or any other hair chemical services within 5 days in any other salons in Singapore, regardless if you are one of Chez Vous’s guest, Chez Vous will attempt to fix it for free. Only available for 1 customer a day from Sunday to Thursday only & you’ll have to call in to fix an appointment.

Another initiative is “Mix, Mingle & Makeover” where customers can book the salon in advance with their family or colleagues and have a makeover party with macarons, food & drinks together. I can imagine this would be a a totally cool pre wedding bride & bridesmaids party idea!

Visit Chez Vous Salon:
391 Orchard Road Ngee Ann City #05-05 Singapore 238872
Tel: (65) 6732-9388

Check out their website here, visit their Facebook page here and Instagram @chezvoushair for their latest treatments, hair initiatives and promotions!

*Reader Perks!*
My dear Enabalista readers can enjoy 10% off all hair and scalp services when you quote “Enabalista” from now till 15th January 2014. Not to be used in conjunction with other in-salon perks, offers, vouchers or promotions.

Thank you Chez Vous Salon & Heat PR for making this session possible!

Firefly In The Light Musical by Prodigy Shayna Toh

Hi Loves!

I may be an effusive writer and blogger when it comes to topics, food, music and products that I really like. But I do know that the term “Prodigy” is only reserved for a select few that truly deserve it. Shayna Toh is the prodigy in mention here:

Shayna Toh, a seventeen-year old Junior College student, has been studying and composing music since she was six. With a love for theatre as well as pop music, she is also an avid writer, having had several stories published since 2008 and in 2013, a children’s book (on urban nature deficit) published. Shayna made her first foray into the theatre scene at eleven, in 2008, when her script “Where Your Dream Takes You” directed by Singapore Repertory Theatre’s (SRT) Director, Michael Corbidge, was performed by actors from SRT and MediaCorp at the DBS Arts Centre.

Seriously, what was I doing when I was 17? I was a SAJC student busy coping with school subjects, CCA & fund raising activities. This girl is busy preparing for her debut full length pop musical! This is the kind of stuff that a full grown adult and musical talent dreams and spends half their life trying to achieve but she’s already doing it. O.O And she was only 11 when her script, “Where Your Dream Takes You” was directed and performed! Kudos to the girl!

This time around, Shayna Toh has written the book/script, music and lyrics to her new musical “Firefly In The Light”.

Firefly In The Light, a new pop musical, tells the story of Wendy, a beautiful and talented teenage school- girl, who knows she is destined for great things. In her shadow, is her childhood “friend”, Jake, unassuming and insecure – who (finally) finds his strength in Wendy. Beckoned by the brightness of a future in a city thousands of miles away, Wendy leaves her small hometown to follow her dreams.

A protective mother, her elusive husband in the entertainment business, a shrewd artist manager, amidst adoring friends and fans alike- all wittingly or unwittingly direct the destinies of Wendy and Jake as they search for themselves, love and success, finding themselves treading on similar grounds but taking very different paths, not once but twice in their young lives.

With a collection of freshly minted songs ranging from rambunctious up-tempo pieces to soft ballads, this Musical, to be staged in the historic Chamber of The Arts House, promises the audience an intimate experience with the young, budding cast and musicians as they spin this tale of youthful hopes, discoveries and pain into an ending.

The director Tabitha Loh, is yet another young talent at the age of 22:

Tabitha Loh, twenty-two, was first trained at ten, under The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art Speech and Drama Program. Completing a year under LASALLE’s Performing Arts Foundation Course and a degree in Theatre and Performance, Tabitha has worked on assistant directorships including Peter Handke’s, Kaspar (2011) with director Natalie Hennedige, Fences (2012) an original opera by Dr John Sharpley and Robert Yeo, directed by Chandran K Lingam. She directed M. Lee’s Serangoon Sunset (2012) presented at the APB Drama Schools Festival, Taiwan.

Be sure to check out the work of young musical talents this weekend, 15 November 8pm @ The Arts House Chamber! Buy your tickets from Sistic here.

Chic Modern French Cuisine @ Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt (OCF)

Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt OCF Food Blog Review 003

Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt OCF Food Blog Review 019You must be wondering… Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt, what’s the meaning behind the name for this restaurant? Well, Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt, is the name of Sir Stamford Raffles’ first wife, who was mentioned as “My first wife…gave me no connexions, no wealth but on the contrary a load of debt…but it gave me domestic enjoyment and thus contributed to my happiness”. Perhaps the owners of the restaurant were inspired by the Sir Stanford Raffles’ statue just a stone’s throw away. Or perhaps they are taken in by the concept of Sir Stanford Raffles’ first love and similarly want others to be able to experience their “first love” for modern french cuisine.

Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt OCF Food Blog Review 002 Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt OCF Food Blog Review 001Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt OCF Food Blog Review 004

The restaurant is located at The Arts House, formerly the Old Parliament House which was constructed in the 19th century so its exterior exudes an old colonial charm that befits the name of Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt. Diners will not be disappointed by the interior which is modern and chic, which also reflects the modernity and relevance of the cuisine which changes seasonally.

OCF is managed by A Thousand Tales, a lifestyle brand of adventurous F&B & retail concepts. They started with White House, a home furnishing brand offering Scandinavian bespoke pieces, before venturing in the F&B scene with Bar Stories, a no menu speciality cocktail bar, followed by Table Manners & The Crostini Bar.

Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt OCF Food Blog Review 022

At OCF, diners have the option for Carte Blanche menu, which means blank card in french so you won’t know what will be serving up for the 5 course dinner. That was what my sister and I opted for, also informing the kitchen of my prawn allergy so I can avoid that in the menu. Alternatively you can also request for the menu of the night and make changes. However the menu is subject to the chef’s selection of the seasonal produce. So one can always expect a surprise each season! 😉 Executive Chef Jonathan Koh says it best, “Spontaneous cuisine working with Nature’s freshest…a new surprise every day.”

Enough of the introductions, here’s the menu & photos of my dinner for the night!

Salt baked beetroot, gruyere cheese, mustard emulsion and an aged balsamic dressing

My tastebuds were very entertained for this entree, it was in my opinion a very unique mix of different flavors. I liked the bitterness of the beetroot, the tartness of the cheese and the sourness of the balsamic vinegar.

First wine with entree:

Pessac-leognan le prelat du pape Clement 2008

This wine is on the heavier side and well bodied, recommended by the staff.

Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt OCF Food Blog Review 011

2nd course:

Veloute of pumpkin with a parmesan emulsion.

I’m not a fan of pumpkin, so I didn’t quite enjoy this dish. However I did enjoy tasting the dish together with the Parmesan emulsion, and I thought that the flavor of the cheese blended well with the sweetness of the pumpkin.

Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt OCF Food Blog Review 013

3rd course:

My sister’s dish: seafood capellini (squid, prawn and mussels)

I’m allergic to prawn, so I couldn’t have my sister’s dish. But I did try a little bit of the noodles which was delicious and I could taste the mussels in the sauce.

Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt OCF Food Blog Review 012

My dish: sea bass with zucchini coulis

The fish was very well cooked and I enjoyed the baked potatoes and mushrooms.

Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt OCF Food Blog Review 014Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt OCF Food Blog Review 015

Main:

Guinea fowl with yellow chanterelle mushrooms, black radish and roasting jus

The main course for the evening. I found the dish to be very intriguing. There was a piece of breast meat and thigh meat. The thigh meat was cooked slightly so it was still dark, though not bloody and it oddly reminded me of medium rare beef, even though I was eating a chicken thigh. However the more I ate it, the more I enjoyed it and now I want to go back and have it again!

Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt OCF Food Blog Review 016

Dessert:

Apple tart with salted caramel and Apple sorbet

Dessert wine:

Late harvest – sauvignon blanc – D.O. Maule Valley – Chile – 2009

I am not a big fan of sour apple, so this dessert didn’t cut it for me. Bieber what I did like was the sweet crunchy bits below the apple sorbet which evened out the sour and tartness of the apple sorbet nicely. The dessert wine is very sweet and is medium in consistency, it also goes very well paired with this dessert. My sister who enjoys sour food, liked this dish and wine pairing a lot.

Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt OCF Food Blog Review 017

2nd dessert:

Hazelnut creme with chocolate ice cream
You can check out my chocolate dessert video on instagram here.

This is a dish and sight to behold. The experience of watching the hot chocolate sauce melting away the chocolate lid and then cracking it apart to dig into the chocolate icecream with brownie is so satisfying and indulgent. It’s a dish I could eat over and over again even if I needed to run an hour long just to burn the calories away! >u<

Foot Care for Smooth Feet

Hi Loves!

Today I’m sharing about a part of our body that I feel is a little neglected, unloved… Our feet! Well, or is it just me? I usually don/t pay much attention to my feet, though I make sure I scrub it thoroughly at least once a month (oops, is that too long an interval even? >.<) especially removing the dead skin and dirt that has accumulated around the heel and ankle portion. I was gifted a very nifty stainless steel foot file by my friend, Jenny! She has them specially made, I love that the foot file is designed ergonomically so that it’s really comfortable to hold. One side with the protruding circles is designed to be rougher so that it removes stubborn dirt and dead skin while the other side with the lines is lighter on the skin. What I do is I soften my feet skin with warm water and soap before I use the foot file! You can also do this during or after your shower.  Since it’s stainless steel, no worries about it getting rusty. 😉 If you’d like a foot file for yourself or to purchase in bulk, contact Jenny @ 9806 7232. After cleaning my feet,I enjoy lavishing my skin with lotion, either in The Face Shop’s White Secret Whitening Body Essence or Chanel’s Chance. It always feels nice to pamper my body. Share with me your favourite body lotion!

Celebrating 4 Years of Enabalista

Hi Loves!

How’s your week coming along? 🙂
My Monday totally felt like a “weekend coma”; post hectic weekend coma. >_< Last week was a really long week with planning and executing my blog Enabalista’s 4th Anniversary giveaways, blogging appointments as well as work packed back to back. So I felt so lethargic at work on Monday… But then I was totally excited to meet up with my girlies at work for dinner at Saveur heheh.

Before it gets too late, I’d like to share my thoughts on reaching Enabalista’s 4th Anniversary! ^^,

On my Instagram last Thursday, which is also the very date of my very first post on this blog (30th Oct), I posted a series of #TBT photos that encapsulates 4 of my passions and popular topics on my blog:

Enabalista 4th Anniversary Fashion Beauty Travel Food 001

Fashion
I started off this blog to share photos and thoughts of fashion shows that I attended when I was a fashion student. I had the chance to attend many local fashion shows while assisting backstage and also as my BFF, Bini’s guest for the premium shows such as Chanel.

Enabalista 4th Anniversary Fashion Beauty Travel Food 003

Beauty
Not long after, I also started to review beauty products, starting off with skincare and a ton of lip care products. In the course of 4 years, I’ve had the pleasure to review many brands, as seen in the photo and also recommended many of them to you my readers, as well as family and friends.

Enabalista 4th Anniversary Fashion Beauty Travel Food 002

Travel
If you’ve been following my blog long enough, you’ll also know that I love to travel and to blog about my travels. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to travel far for 2014, apart from Malaysia and even for those short trips I also haven’t had the time to post up photos. >_< If you’re new to my blog, I hope you’ll enjoy reading about my trips to Seoul, HK, Japan & London. 🙂

Food
As a true Singaporean, I’m a big fan of fine cuisine! I love to enjoy good food and I love to share where all these delicious food are on my blog here.

My Blogging Philosophy
With 4 years of blogging, I’ve come to realize that my blogging philosophy is sharing about my positive experiences, whether it’s about the 4 topics above or beyond. I relish in new, exciting & enjoyable experiences. Personally I feel that the best gift one can give & receive is spending time together and what better way is there to do than to enjoy a good experience together? 🙂

Additionally, I like to think that my posts are “edu-taining”- educational and entertaining at the same time! My wish is that when readers come to my blog, they’ll soak up new knowledge about fashion, beauty, travel & food while also really enjoy my reviews and photos. Basically every blog post is crafted according to how I would enjoy reading it as a reader! 😉

Etude House Wisma Flagship Store Opening

Did I start out my blog 4 years ago thinking it’d reach where it is today?
Absolutely not. As I mentioned above, I started out blogging to post information and photos that I was passionate about. On hindsight, these information that I have are also exclusive, so blogging is really a great way to share these exciting information and meet bloggers and readers alike who are equally passionate about these topics as I am. It was only in mid-end 2011 that I started to blog quite industriously and was posting up more content in terms of events that I attended and beauty products I’ve tried.

Best Singapore Lifestyle Blog 2013
Then December 2013 came around and I still remember that I was at my church’s 50th anniversary camp at Malacca when I was in the hotel room I shared with my friend Talia and reading the email from HotelClub.com that they have selected me to be one of the “Best Singapore Lifestyle Blog 2013“. I was super stoked and I was incredibly happy, excited and thankful to be recognized for this blog that I’ve been passionately maintaining.

Screen Shot 2014-11-04 at 4.05.15 pmKose Cinderella Finalists & Tricia Ong

Then Jan 2014 came around and I started to receive an influx of invitations from brands for events and reviews. Two very exciting things also happened for me in mid 2014, I took part in Kose Cinderella contest and OMY Best Beauty Blogs contest, one after the other. Although I didn’t win either one of it, I’m still very thankful for my family and friends who have shown so much support for me and through these contests I’ve also got to know the lovely ladies who took part in the contests and these connections are truly invaluable.

2014-10-21 21.49.03-1

Singapore’s Lifestyle Blog
2014 also marks the year where I clearly defined that I wanted my blog to be recognized as a lifestyle blog. I am passionate about things beyond just 1 topic, and I don’t want to limit myself to be only blogging about one topic. So sometime around January this year, I set a goal that I wanted my blog to be known and ranked top as “Singapore’s Lifestyle Blog/Blogger” on Google. Lo & behold, after about 100 posts in 2014 alone, my dream came true in October this year and I was very thankful when a PR contact introduced me as “Singapore’s leading lifestyle blogger”. I don’t know if I am able to maintain my blog’s Google ranking, or how long I can maintain it for, but I know that if more readers enjoy reading what I blog about, then the easier it would be to sustain the ranking. 🙂

The future ahead
Like 4 years ago, I’m not sure where my blog will be headed to in another 4 years. But I do know for sure that I’ll continue to be passionately sharing about my positive experiences for Fashion, Beauty, Travel & Food. Currently there are 2 things that I wish to accomplish: 1. Publish a book about Lifestyle; an editorial summary of topics similar to my blog 2. Produce a series of diary/organizers. However right now I have too much on my plate for work and blogging that I am KIV-ing these goals that I wish to achieve until the time is right. If you’re reading this and would like to partner me to accomplish these goals, email me and we’ll see how we can set things in motion. 🙂

Last but definitely not the least, I want to thank God for His providence and guidance for my life and blog and my family and friends for their support and encouragement. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, my dear readers and friends for reading my blog. 🙂

If you haven’t, be sure to check out these 4 awesome giveaways that I am currently running on my IG, FB & Clozette:

Enabalista 4th Anniversary x L’Oreal Paris Giveaway

*Update*

Congrats to @jensdazzvoq & @minkclara on IG and Huiibin Dumbyou on FB for winning the Keratin Smooth Range & Ombre Set respectively!

Hi Loves!

To celebrate the 4th anniversary of my lifestyle blog Enabalista and to thank my readers and partners for your support thus far, I’m hosting a series of giveaways and this is the 2nd of 4 giveaways! 😉

If you’ve been following my blog, you’d know I’m a major fan of L’Oreal Paris, having reviewed their EverStrong Hair Scalp System and their Fall Repair 3x Anti Hair Fall Treatment. So it gives me great pleasure to be able to host a giveaway with L’Oreal Paris! 😀

Keratin Smooth Family Shot B

Do you feel that some hair smoothening products are too “heavy” for your hair and weighs it down? Do you wish for a product that will smoothen your hair but still attain soft, bouncy hair with zero weigh down? Now you can, with L’Oreal Paris’ Keratin Smooth range.

The new Keratin Smooth range uses revolutionary Micro-Keratin [MK] technology that smoothen hair, fiber by fiber. This complete hair care system targets dry, rough and unmanageable hair for strand by strand perfection that last for up to 72 hours. That said, please do not go without a shower for 3 day straight in sunny Singapore. 😛

What’s this revolutionary Micro-Keratin all about?

Micro-Keratin [MK] raises the bar with its unique micro form. Unlike usual Keratin particles that might be unable to precisely fill in the gaps in the hair fiber; the minuscular size of Micro-Keratin [MK] enables it to adhere effectively to the surface of the hair fiber to correct its irregularities without any excess, keeping each strand fluid and soft. See:

Screen Shot 2014-10-31 at 1.22.55 am

As an added benefit, the Keratin Smooth range contains Camelia Extract, a natural plant extract loaded with hydrating and softening properties so hair will remain soft and hydrated with each wash.

Screen Shot 2014-10-31 at 1.25.20 am

Complete your Keratin treatment with star product, Smooth Keratin Frizz Eraser. The first leave-in spray that injects Micro-Keratin [MK] into hair strands for fiber by fiber frizz control. Unlike most leave-in treatments, the Smooth Keratin Frizz Eraser eliminate weigh-down with it light weight formula for frizz control that last for up to 72 hours.

Enriched with Thermo-Protect Active, the Smooth Keratin Frizz Eraser effectively protects your hair from heat caused by blow drying, straightening and other hair treatments that can be damaging for the hair. Suitable for application on freshly washed hair or any time of the day when your hair needs a boost.

You guys are so lucky, I haven’t had the chance to try this product yet and it sounds absolutely amazing for frizzy hair in our humid Singapore weather! 🙂

Keratin Smooth Shampoo (330ml): $9.90
Keratin Smooth Conditioner (330ml): $11.90
Keratin Smooth Perfecting Mask: $14.90
Keratin Smooth Frizz Eraser: $16.90

Korean Fashion with OKDGG

Hi Loves!

I’m a big fan of Korean drama and recently I’m crazy over Fated to Love You, which is a korean remake of the popular Taiwan drama of the same name!

Fated-to-Love-You-Poster-1 NosKU0p FatedToLoveYou_PC_bc1 Fated-to-Love-you-korean-dramas-37561448-1280-720 fated_to_love_you-0084 641

(Images taken from various sites as watermarked, last image from Couch Kimchi)

And you know what? Watching this drama is so effective for my exercise and diet plans. >u<
That’s because when I watch HOW SKINNY these korean actresses are (I swear their legs are like my arms, ok maybe I’m exaggerating…) That after an episode a night, I’d be totally motivated to go down for a run even when I am dead tired or resist that pack of biscuits that I considered munching on.

I digress.

I’m not sure about you, but I am totally inspired by Korean fashion and make up. Every time after I watch a korean drama with a great sense of fashion styling, I’d take notes, consciously or unconsciously and be inspired to dress more like them.

But the thing is, we don’t always have access to korean fashion here in Singapore right? And not all of us can afford the luxury of time and cash to fly to Korea every season. 🙁

But with the awesomeness of the internet and OKDGG, now we can shop Korean fashion and have them shipped right to our doorstep! OMG how awesome is that?! FREAKING AWESOME I TELL YA.

What is OKDGG

DGG (Delivery Guarantee Global)service provides global post service through the network of Malltail. We safely handle and deliver your order from South Korea and also support customer satisfaction for your international delivery. – Taken from the FB page.

So basically, OKDGG stands for OK, Delivery Guranteed Globally from South Korea! 😉

My Radiant Skin with Atlas Medical Laser & Aesthetics Clinic Vit C Treatment

Hi Lovelies!

It’s my third time back at Atlas Medical Laser & Aesthetics Clinic for their facial and this time round, it was just the Vit C treatment without the Silk Peel treatment! If you haven’t, check out the first session review and the second session review.

Previous times, the Silk Peel treatment would remove the dead skin, but when I experienced the Vit C treatment alone this time, it also includes the first step where the dead skin is gently removed.

If I haven’t already mentioned in the previous posts, I am saying it now, that I’m a big fan of the Vit C treatment because of the visible hydration on my face that gives me a beautiful glow, which isn’t something that I am just shamelessly saying, but also well commented by my friends when I meet them after the facial sessions. Hehehe! >u< Check out my bareface photo taken just before the Vit C session and after, with just sun block and home room lightning, no filter! Yes I usually do use filters for my Instagram photos, but not for these two after photos to show you how glow-y and radiant my face looks even hours after the facial for the day! I definitely recommend this facial to be booked for the day or the day before a special event and you want a ***glow***! ^^V IMG_6685-0.JPG

Princess Treatment at Etude House’s World’s Largest Flagship Store @ Wisma Atria

Hi Loves!

Just last Thursday I was at Etude House’s World’s Largest Flagship Store VIP Opening @ Wisma Atria. Man, I don’t even know where to start! The experience was incredible to say the least. The folks at Etude House sure do know how to throw a big princess party! 😀 I don’t think anything I say is gonna do justice to it, so that’s why you’re gonna be treated to a feast of pretty pictures. 🙂  As Etude House’s world’s largest store, they have a dedicated booth/wall/stand for every part of your face and body. No kidding. You’ll see! And of course, one can’t escape from commenting how PRINCESSY the entire decor is. Decked in pretty pink and regal white, this store is every little / inner-little-girl’s dream. 😉 Plus, this store is SO FUN. To amp up the princess themed decor, there is a Pumpkin Carriage that you can enter with your GF/BFF to take photos with. Sorry, the cute male models were specially flown in only for the opening day. 😛 Also, there are capsule machines that will churn out 1 charm that you can add to your unique Etude House bracelet. For the month of October, you get to collect 1 pink token for every $20 spent, up till 5 tokens/$100 per receipt. Thereafter, you’ll have to spend $30 to redeem 1 pink token. And there are also special discounts and gift sets (while stocks lasts) for sale to celebrate their opening, so be sure to head down before the month is up! 🙂

As posted on my IG, I scored a selfie with Pony after the cosy blogger interview session we had. You must be curious about the Q&A, here it is!

Interview with Celebrity Top Korean Make Up Artist Pony

Q1. What do you think is the 1 thing you have done right to become so popular?
PONY (P): In addition to trendy makeup in Korea, I also try other looks from the Western make up scene, such as my recent Scarlett Johansson cover makeup. I think that is why I am popular globally.

Screen Shot 2014-10-20 at 12.03.02 am

Pony’s Scarlet Johansson Makeup Cover.

Q2. What’s your current favourite beauty trend?
P: Dewy moist makeup as it’s very dry in korea now.

Q3. What is your top favourite skincare product from Etude House and top favourite make up product from Etude House?
P: Skincare: Moistful collagen gel and mist
Makeup: Play101 as it comes in a variety of 50 colours to play with.

Q4. What is your secret to good skin?
P: 1. Don’t stress.
2. Before I do a scrub, I use a mask pack for hydration. And I also don’t do too much scrub.
3. I use fine foam when cleansing, so the bubble is soft on the skin and not pulling down the skin.

Q5. What is a big make up mistake?
P: Make up that is not balanced. I feel that the face is in a 100% ratio spread across the Eyes, Nose & cheek & Lips.
So for example, when the eyes has 50% of the attention, then spread the attention evenly 25% and 25% on the Nose/Cheeks and Lips. Don’t over do and have strong makeup all over your face, it will be too overpowering.

Q6. How do you recommend a fuss free make up routine for busy Singaporeans?
P: I think the Precious Minerial Any Cushion is great, as the foundation comes out evenly and applies really fast without having not too much on the face. This product cuts the steps of a normal foundation of application from squeezing and transferring to hand then face, so it is convenient. Then apply dark eyeliner and go for a bright lip colour.

Q7: If you could only choose 1 Etude House product to use forever, what would it be?

Etude House’s Cookie blusher. I recommend the warmer colours as it suits natural skin better.

spd_20120228212300_b

Q8: Can we expect a video on your Singapore trip to be uploaded to your Youtube channel?
P: Yes I will have a cute -style video of my trip in Singapore to be on my channel! 🙂

Q9: Will there be any future project with  Etude House?
P: I am a big fan of étude house. I hope that there will be more unique products such as the Play101 pencils to come unless Etude House doesn’t want to collaborate with me. *Sad Pouts*

Q10: How do you make makeup last longer in humid weather such as in Singapore?
P: Don’t apply too much make up, the eechnique is to make skin lighter by applying thin layer. Also I recommend using a sebum control powder to help control the oil and also using the Wonder Pore Freshener before make up.

I’m thinking of doing a video review and tutorial, what do you all think? In anycase, I’ll be doing a separate post of the Disney collection cause this post is already super long as it is. And there’s a lot of products for review in one collection too! 🙂

Are you an Etude House fan like me? What’s your favourite product and why?

Thanks Etude House Singapore & WOM PR for the invite and making the interview possible!
