Indulge in Flavours of the World Epicurean Event @ Plaza Singapura

Hi Loves!

How’s your eve of Deepavali evening coming along?
I had a wonderful evening at Plaza Singapura’s 40th Anniversary for their inaugural epicurean event “Flavours of the World” held in conjunction with Cold Storage. Shoppers will be delighted with beers & wines from across the globe, Wagyu Beef, Pineapple Sausage (3 for $5), fresh oysters ($15 for 6) & Hoegaarden Rosee on tap ($8 per pint)! My drink picks: Terra Vega Chardonnay, Chianti Classico Red Wine, Rekordelig Strawberry & Lime, Strongbow Red Berries Cider. (See photos below) Also I highly recommend the Torres Black Truffles chips, aptly called the King of Chips (2 for $11.95) Attractive discounts for the produces are only for this fair held from today till 2 Nov, so stock up all your favourite snacks & alcoholic beverages! 😉

Happy Deepavali in advance folks!

My favourite red wine of the lot for the night: Italian Chianti Classico, very smooth.

Chilean Luis Felipe Edwards Reserva Carmenere, one of my sister’s pick of the night. Balanced, smokey and not acidic.

Another of my sister’s pick of the night, which I like as well. Californian Red Wine Apothic Red, velvety smooth, medium-full bodied, not acidic.

German beer, Krombach Pils (lighter and wheaty) and Weizen (malty). I prefer the Weizen!Plaza_Sing_Cold_Storage_Flavours_Of_The_World_Blogger_Review22

Thanks Plaza Singapura and Cold Storage for the kind invitation and goodies!

Since indulgence was the theme of the night (>u<), my sister and I shared a portion of Chippy’s (which is not at the Epicurean event, it’s at Basement 2 of Plaza Sing) Mars Bars in Vanilla Icecream. We are both probably the last ones to have tried this since we passed by for the Nth time, and we are glad to report that it lived up to our expectations!!!

I really like that they are into Reduction and they use healthier options (altho its all oily food HAHA)

What are your favourite wines, beers and food pairing? I’d love to know! 😉

  1. it did just occur to me that oysters go very well with champagne and sauvignon blanc (rather than beer) which we had the last time at the champagne brunch while i’d prefer the wagyu with a full bodied red wine rather than the fruity hoegaarden rose which couldn’t hold up to the beef
