Yum Yum at Miam Miam Bugis

Hi Loves!

I don’t want to sound like a broken recorder, but I still have so many unpublished photos and material for my blog that it will take me more than 2 months to publish them, (assuming) if I were to diligently update my blog daily. Yeap, that’s material for more than 60 posts. However with my work as a real estate agent, attending current blogger events and not forgetting my obsession with Korean dramas, I don’t have the luxury of time to publish all of the materials, some of which are frankly outdated now, lol! Nonetheless I will be publishing some of the older photos and materials over the course of the next few months, so indulge me! šŸ˜› After I clear off the back log, my plan for this year is to streamline the content for my blog this year, so focus on quality instead of quantity. As fashion blogger Nicole Warne of GaryPepperGirl puts it, “It’s the work that you decline that also defines you.” Beginning from mid last year, I’ve been more intentional in the contentĀ that I publish on my blog, and moving along, I will be even more selective.

So for the record, I visited Miam Miam at BugisĀ Junction#02-14 many months back in May 2014 with blogger friend Clarabel for dinner and even though so many months have passed, looking at these photos remind me that I loved it. The pasta/noodles serving were very generous, thankfully I was hungry (Clarabel is blessed with high metabolism rate, always hungry and eating but still slim!) and we both loved the Molten Lava cake with Vanilla Ice Cream. I haven’t been back since but it’s a place I recommend and would definitely go back. The store is located in the atrium area of level 2 but still provides sufficient ambience with its rustic country decor for a cosy dinner. Ideal for both group and couple dates. They have a French Japanese fusion concept and at $15-$20 person for meals.

Let me know if you’ve dined at Miam Miam and what you enjoy eating there!

Hi Loves!

Jeunesse Anti Aging Serum Jeunesse Reserve Blogger Review 003

Jeunesse Anti Aging Serum Jeunesse Reserve Blogger Review 001

When I review a product for my blog, I usually start using the product without reading the product information and other reviews online, so that I won’t be affected by what the product boasts or be inclined to write similar things. This is because I believe in sharing my own experience, which may or may not be the same as others. And for this product, my experience coincides with the very benefits that they boast of! šŸ™‚

Jeunesse Luminesce Cellular Rejuvenation SerumĀ is touted to be an anti-aging serum, but it’s really moreee that that! As its name suggests, this product rejuvenates your skin from its cells. As such, it also works as a repair serum, or a serum that helps wounds to recover at a faster rate. Personally my skin is still quite young so I can’t testify much to the anti-aging effects of a serum. What I do like about this product is that it is a lightweight gel that is easily absorbed by the skin and it keeps my skin moisturized, long into the night till the next morning – so my skin looks brighter and softer instead of dull and dry. I also like that this product is safe to use for my normal-oily combination skin. šŸ™‚

Ā Jeunesse Luminesce Cellular Rejuvenation SerumĀ on the left shows it’s a watery gel like consistency and when it’s applied on the right, the skin is immediately brighter/fairer, appears smoother and this is the effect that I also get when I apply it on my face t night, it lasts till the next morning. I have applied it for both my morning and night skincare routine, but I prefer to use this only at night because there is a strong scent. What I do to combat the scent is I use another scented skin First Treatment Essence (there are many brands available, SK-II, Laneige, I currently use My Face Shop SMIM one), which also conveniently helps to prep my skin to absorb more of the consequent product used, in this case the Luminesce serum.

I mentioned above that the Luminesce serum also helps you to recover from wounds faster, I don’t have a personal experience, butĀ here’s a Youtube video that is really super convincing, so much so that I actually feel happy for these interviewed users for having this Luminesce serum to improve their skin to a healthier and younger state that’s either due to normal aging or damaged from injury. Note:Ā some of the users’ skin are really bloodied due to accidents, so don’t watch this will eating or it may spoil your appetite.

http://youtu.be/O7K3yl9fiXc

I would recommend thisĀ Ā Jeunesse Luminesce Cellular Rejuvenation SerumĀ for users that are looking for a product to reverse the signs of aging on your skin, to have brighter, plump looking and smoother skin and also if you or you know someone with a fresh injury and want the wound to recover faster and reduce scarring!

Jeunesse Anti Aging Serum Jeunesse Reserve Blogger Review 002

Next we come to theĀ Jeunesse Reserve!Ā

RESERVEā„¢, this delicious and nutritious gel will infuse your body with youthful vitality and a feeling of overall good health.

BENEFITS

Antioxidants resist oxidative stress and premature aging

Anthocyanins support healthy cardiovascular function

Essential fatty acids assist in digestive tract function

Reinforces a healthy immune system

Helps maintain a healthy metabolism

Helps boost energy

Supports healthy joint function

Jeunesse Anti Aging Serum Jeunesse Reserve Blogger Review 004

What I like about this product is its amazing taste! It tastes like red wine, due to the red grape extract aka Resveratrol, with a wonderful blend of other fruits such as Acai Berry, Blueberry, Pomegranate, Aloe Vera, Grape Seed, Dark Cherry (another of my fave too!) and Green Tea (major love for this too!). It comes in a big box of 30 ml gel packs, you can choose to take it in the morning or after dinner at night. I’ve been told by the Jeunesse distributor that it’s best consumed in the morning, before you eat your breakfast. This is because this product will increase your metabolism rate, kickstarting your day and gives you more energy. IĀ like that the Reserve helps my digestion better, when I take it in the night, the next day I can move my bowels easily! šŸ˜› Amazingly too, it’s only 13 calories even thought it’s a real sweet treat. Yay!

Jeunesse Anti Aging Serum Jeunesse Reserve Blogger Review 005

I also really like how conveniently packed these are! I like to put them in my bag and consume them after dinner when I’m out – they don’t take up much space and I never have to worry about spillage either. Plus with this design I squeeze out everything and no wastage either!

I recommend the Jeunesse Reserve if you want to increase your metabolism rate and a healthy supplement to kickstart your day and/or if you’re always travelling and don’t have time to buy and eat fresh fruits! This is also really ideal for busy executives because it’s super convenient to integrate into your lifestyle – put a box in your car or office and eat it either in the morning on the way to work or at night while on the way home. šŸ™‚

Watch One Direction Live in Singapore!

Hi Loves!

IMG_2866.JPG
If you’re visiting Singapore in March you can buy One Direction tickets for their upcoming On the Road Again tour that starts in February 2015!!! This will be the fourth concert tour that will cover some of the main cities across North America, Australia, Africa, Europe and Asia. One Direction will also promote their fourth studio album Four while they will sing songs from their previous albums like Midnight Memories, Take Me Home and Up All Night. Commonly known as 1D to their fans, One Direction has managed to be among the successful British boy bands in recent times. Last year, they were voted as the Top Artist of the Year by Billboard.

IMG_2867.PNG

Music has always been one of the main attractions in Singapore and there are many events that happen here throughout the year. While top bands like One Directions do perform here you have to make sure that you buy the tickets for the concert at the right time.
The band is performing in Singapore for just one day on March 11 at the Singapore National Stadium, so you need to make sure that you do not miss out the fun. One Direction has also been the recipients of two BRIT Awards and popular choice awards that make them immensely popular not just in the UK, but globally.

IMG_2868.JPG

While Singapore also has wide range of attractions and places where tourists prefer to go for entertainment, nothing is better than having a great time while attending the concert tour of the best boy bands currently in the UK. Singapore is among the best places where you can enjoy great food with your loved ones, enjoy some shopping and head for some live music at the concert.

9 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Be The Third Party in a Relationship

Hi loves!

I’ve been wanting to write my personal thoughts on life down on my blog but wells, laziness often gets the better of me and I try to post up my review posts first when I have the time.

Anyways, this is one of the topics that I’ve been wanting to share about and well, it’s kind of a spur of the moment and late night inspired / musings post.

And I’ve kind of waited till 2015 to publish such posts cause I feel like at 24 going 25, I’m coming of age. Just 5 more years to 30, gasps. And yeah it might sound ridiculous that I’m coming of age at 24+ when like I have friends who are already mother of 2. Lol. I’ve lived a fairly sheltered life I admit. So I guess, depending on my mood, I may be releasing more of such posts this year!

I hate to admit, even though I’ve never officially dated or had a boyfriend, I’ve experienced my fair share of players- “friends” whom I was acquainted and later realized that they were attached. There was this one guy whom I went out for meals when I was 18, found out he had a girlfriend and so I promptly told him that “I would be so sad if I were your girlfriend, stop contacting me.” I naively thought then that maybe guys play while they can before marriage until one married guy friend who crossed the friendly line and would send me “good morning” & “good night” texts and when I told him to stop he still asked me why. And perhaps the worst is another guy who asked me out for dinner when I later realize that he has 3 kids at home. And he did not wear his ring whenever I saw him at events and still behaves like a bachelor on his FB page and instagram. Why on earth his wife would let him behave like this, I have no clue.

In the past I was way less forgiving – I would immediately cut such people out my life and after “attracting” 2 guys who had girlfriends, i even felt sad and for a while thought that maybe the problem lies with me – was I too bubbly and friendly past a limit?

But then, thank God, I grew older and more mature and I learnt to put such immature and cheating boys (they don’t count as men, do they?) in their place. Me being friendly doesn’t mean I am open to being a third party and cheating with you on your gf/ wife, please for goodness sake.

On hindsight, these people may think that because I have a friendly and nice personality, I may be an easy target (read: desperate idiot) to be persuaded to go on dates after I find out their non-single status. So I did became more conscious of my friendliness to guys in general – I won’t be my normal friendly self to people I know who are attached or married, in case they think I am sending them a signal, when I am not.

When I told my best friend about the married guy who wouldn’t stop sending me messages despite me telling him to stop – we both agreed that the wife is lucky that I am someone with integrity. Unfortunately even tho I may still treat that married guy as a friend, I doubt that he will stop his cheating ways. Cheating is a subjective word, some people may think that cheating is only cheating when it’s physical. Others think that even an errant thought or flirting texts = cheating. I define cheating as being un loyal – that you are no longer solely devoted to your partner and are actively romantically engaged with someone else, whether emotionally or physically.

I am not condemning people who decide to be involved in a relationship as a third party (hate the sin, love the sinner), I guess I just don’t want to be judgmental – I always abide by my rule that your life is yours, you can live how you deem fit, and so will I.

So I guess I am sharing this post because when I realize that I was “attracting” attached guys I felt guilty and I couldn’t find a forum or resource that could direct me or give me proper advice. And that’s exactly what I want to achieve with this post. I realized, while growing up & older that actually cheating people exist everywhere and it’s not your fault when they cheat, but you do need to put your foot down, draw the line and say / type firmly “NO”. This is for my younger self who wished that there was someone older and wiser who could give me advice. This is for all of you who are seeking for this advice right now.

That’s a super long introduction, and now I come to the main point of this post – Why you shouldn’t be the third party in a relationship.

In no order of merit:

IMG_2647-0.JPG

1. It won’t end well.
A relationship is often likened to a tree that will grow strong, take root and spread its branches. When two people get together, naturally they will think of marriage, buying a house and having kids to form a family. But when you’re a third party – essentially you’re throwing the original couple’s plans in disarray. Think about it, the gf/wife when she finds out, is going to definitely hate you. Whether or not she hates her bf/husband. This is because you ruined their relationship by accepting to be the third party. A breakup is almost always messy, much less a divorce.

2. The guy is likely to cheat on you, too.
If the guy can cheat on his gf/wife with you, what makes you think that he won’t cheat on you with someone else?

3. You are probably not his only “back up”.
I realize that cheating guys usually cheat on their gf/ wife with more than one girl. I reckon that they think that since they are already cheating, it doesn’t really matter if it’s with one, two, three or four girls.

4. You will have the reputation of being the slut / home wrecker.
If you decide to be the third party, while in full knowledge that the guy is attached, basically you’re consciously just throwing your reputation down the drain. Usually the first thing people will remember about you is how you shamelessly agree to be the third party. Everyone will agree that the cheating guy is a bastard but if you accept a relationship with the bastard, knowing he is behaving as one, then you have no defence and is putting women around the world to shame for behaving this way.

5. You deserve a better guy.
Seriously. Maybe women who accepts the role of the third party do so because they are afraid that they can’t find a better guy. I’m telling you right now that your value and worth is not based on some jerk’s affection for you. If you believe in Christ – your value and worth is based on your identity in Christ as a precious child of God. If you don’t believe in Christ – your value and worth exists because your parents bore and raised you – definitely not for you to be the third party. And if you have sucky parents, your value and worth comes from within – from how YOU define it, not how others perceive you to be, ok? Go tell that guy to fly a kite because you deserve someone better than him, someone who can devote his entire heart to you and not have to share it with Nth number of girls.

6. Your relationship can’t see the light of day.
He probably deletes every message / whatsapp after you send them incase his gf sees it. He probably dates you to neighborhood coffee shops where no one will see the both of you hanging out. You want to go out to Orchard to shop and watch a movie, visit Gardens by the Bay but he is probably too cowardly and scared that people might recognize him with you and find out about his cheating. A healthy relationship is one where there is no hiding, you don’t have to nor should you be afraid of people seeing you two together. If the guy is afraid to bring you out to crowded places – with the exception that he is some super hot star – do yourself a favour, drop him like a hotcake, please.

7. You won’t be his one devotion.
You already know he has a gf/wife and chances are, you are second place. I hope you won’t fall for the “I am with her but my heart is with you”. Thank God no one ever used that on me, but I took that from watching too many dramas – dramas are inspired from reality after all. Imagine every Valentines, Christmas & New Year’s – you are receiving the second phone call / text / hug. Go ahead and sob, I see tears welling in your eyes.

8. You will cheapen yourself.
Humans will only treasure what they fought hard to get. When you fall into the third party place, the guy is unlikely to treat you like a hard earned precious pearl since he ain’t going to give you the full treatment that’s reserved for his main gf/wife – wedding banquet and all. Imagine that, just imagine that.

9. If he meant to break up with his gf/wife, he would have done so already.
If he claims that he will break up when “the time is right”, please don’t be so naive. He will not break up. He is leading you on and you will be the fool if you follow him.

What should you do?

1. Tell him to stop contacting you or stop flirting with you because you respect him, his gf / wife.
2. Move on in life – surround yourself with trustworthy friends of both sexes who will introduce you friends who are trustworthy too.
3. Don’t feel guilty about his lecherous feelings for you.
4. Send him this post and just in case he still doesn’t get the message, say it in Iggy freestyle: “F is for friends and stuff and U is for you and me” – I realize this tho is funny and irreverent, it can be quite misleading. So you can quote me: “I am not a hard disk – I am not your back up. You can go to Challenger to find yourself one if you’re so keen.” šŸ˜‰
5. Just be direct and ask “Are you single or attached?” before you agree to go on dates in future. If he says attached and still asking you out – tell him to bring his gf/wife along and basically don’t waste your time on him any longer.

Good luck!

Christmas Light Up Party at Orchard Hotel

Hi Loves!

I hope you’re having a great Christmas season~ A while back I had a great time at Orchard Hotel for their Christmas Light Up party; with their festive Christmas lightning and decor, delicious spread & a really cute Snow House at the lobby. My friend Beatrice and I were acquainted with new friends Cecilia and Sheelah and we chatted the night away. My sister & brother in law hosted their wedding banquet at Orchard Hotel back in August, as their Chinese restaurant Hua Ting serves up really yummy food – be sure to check them out too. I also filmed an instavideo capturing the light up in action, watch it~~~

Party Up in Risis Style

Hi Loves~

*:. Happy New Year! .:*

First of all, I am so super happy that we’re in 2015 right now. 2014 hasn’t been the worst but neither has it been the best and I am just so grateful to enter into the new year and I believe with all my heart that 2015 is going to be a so much better year for me – at work, in life and blogging too! Taking the time to wish all of you a wonderful 2015 – may the new year bring you greater joy & successes in all that you do!!!

Now onto the blog post proper, back in late November, Risis threw a party in style – if there’s any store party that I’ve attended and loved in 2014, it’d be Risis’ – humourous styling workshop with celebrity stylist Keith Png, beautiful jewelery, good food, makeup and nails booth – a girl’s heaven! Truth be told, I wasn’t in my best of form as I was feeling under the weather and having a bad hair day, lol. NonethelessĀ that didn’t keep me from enjoying the event with my friend and sweetie pie Christabelle!

Scroll down to check out my photos & captions from the event. šŸ˜‰

Keith demonstrating how to layer up jewellery on the hands. He also shared how to spot whether you’re warm or cool skin tone – greenish veinsĀ means warm while blueish veins means cool. My veins are greenish so I have warm skin tone. Warm skin tones suit gold coloured jewellery while cool skin tones suit silver coloured jewellery. That said, I usually have no problem wearing either – in the sense that I think I look okay with both gold and silver – and I prefer silver for day to day jewellery and wear gold for special occasions.

Keith proceeds to show us how to match jewellery for different looks and occasions, beginning with more casual and office looks.

Korean Celebrities Love FrancisKay Jewelry

Hi Loves~

As you should know by now, I’m a major Korean Drama fan and I’m almost always following at least 1 Korean drama serial a week and that sort of just very naturally developed my love for Korean fashion and Korean makeup, which is evident allll over my blog. So I discovered a gem of a website by FrancisKay that is a beloved costume jewlery brand worn and loved by many Korean celebrities and I just have to share it with you all!

Check out the Ā FrancisKay jewelry I’ve got!:2014-12-17 11.20.15-1

New Yorker chic simple Ring set of 3, US$27.56. Buy here.

2014-12-17 11.24.37-1

Classic Emilia Pearl Set of 3, US $43.88. Buy here. 2014-12-17 11.16.59-1

Each set is beautifully packaged, comes in a chic & simple plastic zip bag and bubble wrapped. My 3 sets took about 1 week to reach me in a box in perfect condition.

Took a few pictures with my New Yorker rings + Dior-inspired New York studded earrings with Pearl back. I really love the design and the quality of the FrancisKay jewelry, you really get what you pay for~! šŸ™‚ It isn’t flimsy metal but great quality that’s sturdy and can be worn repeatedly so I foresee myself wearing it for years or until I am bored of the design, lol~2014-12-21 02.47.17 2014-12-17 00.50.54-1 2014-12-17 00.51.43-1

That’s not all!

Check out the Korean celebrities that are wearing FrancisKay!! I have picked a few of my favourites:

Korean Celebrities Love Francis Kay 005

I can’t be sure if Han Ye Seul is wearing a pair of Dior or FrancisKay in Birth of Beauty (which btw is TOTALLY awesome show everyone must watch!) but it definitely looks like either the New Yorker earringĀ duo in the pearl back or New Yorker Volume to Pearl Earring! The latter which is also worn by another of my favourite Korean actress Jang Na Ra (Fated to Love You):Korean Celebrities Love Francis Kay 002

Korean Celebrities Love Francis Kay 008Also acting in Birth of a Beauty, Wang Ji Hea is sporting 1 layer from Nature Multi Layer Necklace.Ā Korean Celebrities Love Francis Kay 001

Another favourite Korean actress Park Shin Hye currently acting in Pinocchio which I am also following, is sporting FranisKay Capri Blue Mini Square Earring.Korean Celebrities Love Francis Kay 006

At her fan signing she’s wearing one ring from the Lady Rose Silver Ring Set.

Korean Celebrities Love Francis Kay 004Shin Seong Rok is seen in Trot Lover wearing FrancisKay For You Special Silver bangle that comes with free engraving. This up and coming actor is also in The King’s Face which is another drama that I am also currently following. I should probably watch lesser Korean dramas, huh! >u<

Korean Celebrities Love Francis Kay 007

Actress Choi Yeo Jin is seen wearing Francis Kay Lovely Initials necklace in Emergency Couple, which is a drama I have watched.

Korean Celebrities Love Francis Kay 003

If you buy now during the festive season, you can optĀ for their Christmas sets that come in special ChristmasĀ packaging with card, limited edition necklace & bracelet, each set starts from US$60.63.

Spicy Hot Curry at Marina South Curry House

Hi Loves!

A while back I visited Marina South Curry House for a food tasting session and their red curry chicken and salted egg chicken wing is really the bomb! I also really enjoyed their fish head bee hoon because it was flavourful even though no milk or msg was used – it’s made from Chef Gan’s unique soup stock combination. I shall post up the photos explain with captions. Details for the shop found below. Enjoy this post! P.S.Ā Get ready to be hungry!
Marina South Curry

Marina South Curry House gets its name from the original location where they use to be at Marina South, a place popular for dating for those born in the 70’s and very well known for serving up a mean curry that’s super hot and spicy.Ā Marina South Curry House Blog Review 009

Marina South Curry House Blog Review 014

Chef Gan is the head chef of Marina South Curry House who hails from Ipoh and he specializes in Singaporean and Malaysian dishes and he crafts them with passion and culinary dedication!

Now we proceed to the main point of the post, their food!

Marina South Curry House Blog Review 002

Red Curry Chicken – this is so delicious! I usually don’t eat a full bowl of rice, but I found myself eating mouth after mouth with this yummy red curry!$6.90 for one person serving. Highly recommended~~~Ā Marina South Curry House Blog Review 001

To soothe the tongue and throat from the red curry, enjoy a refreshing buah long long drink at $3.90. Its slightly sour flavour that freshens you up and complements curry dishes very well.

Marina South Curry House Blog Review 004

Another of my top favourite dish, their Salted Egg Chicken Wing, $12.90 which is salty and crispy and oh-so-delicious! I only wished I had this plate all to myself. šŸ˜›Marina South Curry House Blog Review 006

Another of their speciality dish as I mentioned above, their Signature Claypot Fish Head Bee Hoon which has no milk yet the texture is still rich and relatively thick. It’s simmered for over 6 hours, the superior broth is flavourful due to Chef;s unique soup stock combination – I really love it. Enjoy it with 2-3persons for $18.90 or single portion at $7.90.Ā
Marina South Curry House Blog Review 003

One of their signature vegetable dish is Luo Han Chye which has tofu, taupok, mushoom and small bok choy giving plenty of choice and flavour in this dish.

Or if you prefer your veggies with some kick, consider this long bean and eggplant with curry.

Spread the love this festive season with Singtel

Hi Loves!

What does Christmas mean to you?

To me, Christmas is a time for us to remember Christ’s birth and also a welcomed time to reunite with family and friends for delicious, hearty meals & fun times.

Christmas means different things to different people.

Growing up as fortunate young children, Christmas means getting gifts from our parents and relatives. As we grow older, it also means reunions and gifts exchange. For those of you who’ve entered into parenthood – it may mean playing the role of Santa and gifting to your child/children.

However not all of us are so fortunate to be able to give more to our family for the festive season. And for those of us who can, why not share the love and blessings?

With SingTel’s thoughtful and heart-warming Little Helpers initiative, this Christmas you can visit http://singtel.com/Christmas to choose from 3 tabs to explore daily “deals”, participate in “on the street” activities and “lend a hand” with the Willing Hearts and Lion Befrienders to bring some cheer to the less fortunate in our community.

I highly recommend you to visit the site, share the deals with your family & take part in the community activities with your friends!

Enjoy this festive video clip by SingTel, I especially love the little boy that answered “Binoculars” when asked what Christmas means to him and then his sister giving him this “what are you saying?!” look and squeeze. Too cute!

Thank you SingTel for letting me join your team to spread the word about this meaningful Christmas initiative! šŸ™‚

Sweet Pamper Session at Plaza Sing with le blanc by mashu & Nana’s Green Tea

Hi Loves!

Do you fancy a pamper session with your BFF after your Christmas shopping frenzy?
My BFF Fion & I was atĀ Plaza Singapura just the other day and we went to le blanc by mashu salon for a relaxing Soda Spa Scalp Treatment followed by lunch at Nana’s Green Tea. We had so much fun and the day flew by!

le blanc by mashu salon opened back in September and is headed by Japanese Creative Director Masaaki Ueda. Ā We really enjoyed the Soda Spa Scalp treatment which is a “treatment that uses carbonated water and also Soda Spa Foam to flush carbon dioxide through the scalp and skin, carrying away waste in the body. This encourages blood circulation, which in turn enhances metabolism and increases oxygen and nutrient supply to the scalp and skin, keeping them soft, velvety and healthy.”Ā The entire session was very relaxing, especially whilst in the reclining chair during the hair spa~ and my hair was silky smooth for the next 3 days and it felt so good!

At Nana’s Green Tea, we had a sumptous lunch and I was super happy with my Locomoco Hamburg set and the Green Parfait with the Green Tea ice cream is divine!

Scroll down & enjoy asĀ I share about our Pamper Day~ ^^

Hi Loves!

Today I am very excited to share with you all about India Circus, an online shopping site stocking lifestyle items designed by talented artist Krsna Mehta. Clozette Ambassadors Tea Party @ Mu Parlour

Hi Loves!

A while back Clozette hosted a tea party for Clozette ambassadors and it was a good time meeting and catching up with fellow Clozette ambassadors. If you haven’t read my previous posts about Clozette, just know that I will visit the site almost daily to see a consolidated updates by fellow fashion and beauty enthusiasts – I am currently following about 100 fashion and beauty influencers, mostly Clozette Ambassadors and Star Clozetters in Singapore and Asia who have fabulous updates. The tea party was a blast and time flies when you’re having fun. We had a delicious array of finger food and tea in a cafe decked out in cute Alice in Wonderland theme and lots of cute pink balloons! We made pink ribbons to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness for the month of October and we also filmed a video to share our love for Clozette. After the event, Vinna, Fenny & I took time to take ootd shots at places nearby. Saturdays should be like this!

Pan Pacific’s The Edge 4 Hour Sunday Champagne Brunch Review

Hi Loves!

A few months back, I completed a survey for Expat Living magazine and was kindly gifted a pair of tickets for Pan Pac’s The Edge’s Sunday Champagne brunch. So I invited my sister to come a long with me and it was such an unforgettable meal! We had so much fun indulging in wagyu beef, salmon sashimi, pork sausages, iberco ham and of course an unlimited amount of Veuve Cliquot champagne. Ā Guests can also order a limited offering of red wine and shiraz as part of the buffet. My personal favourites would be the wagyu beef and fine du claire fresh raw oysters. The buffet spread is very comprehensive to say the least and I would highly recommend this place for fine dining and champagne lovers. Ā Tickets are at $168++ per pax. There’s a package where 2 guests get a bed, brunch & bliss staycation with a late check out on Sunday at 5pm for $525 for 2. Perfect for a special occasion! For more details and booking you can visit Pan Pac site here.

I would love to go for another free flow champagne brunch again, let me know if you have a place to recommend!

Fun & Food-filling Weekend Trip to Malacca

Hi Loves!

A few months back, my secondary school mates and I headed to Muar & Malacca for a weekend road trip and here’s a post of the food places and fun destinations that we’ve been! I personally highly recommend Malacca as a road trip destination with friends because it’s relatively near Singapore, inexpensive, has great food and overall just a perfect & fun weekend getaway destination! šŸ˜‰ Following this trip, I made another similar trip with my colleagues… Which I suppose I’ll get around to blogging about it in due time. šŸ˜› As you should probably know by now, I take forever and a day to get my blog posts up… I’ve got tons of content and I need to get them up, but man, it’s hard to find time and the mojo to blog with work and activities during the weekend (and I also need time to chill too!). Anyhoos, it’s gonna be a super long blog post with 100+ photos and captions, grab your popcorn and enjoy the read! šŸ™‚

Then we headed to AK Extreme Go Kart & Paintball Arena at Plaza Hang Tuah (Plaza Ocean), Jalan Tun Mahmat, 75300 Melaka, Melaka for Go Kart! We didn’t know they had Paintball as well, but as we didn’t prepare change of clothes, we couldn’t play that. Now that you know, prepare change of clothes for some paintball fun while you’re there! šŸ™‚

For Go Kart we paid RM30/~SGD12 for 10min. It might seem a short period, but it was about 13 laps and doesn’t seem that short a time! Unfortunately the one car I was on kept on stalling, but all my friends didn’t have issues with theirs. Overall, I’d still recommend this place.

At the A Famosa Fortress, which I honestly didn’t read up about before I went, and I’ve been there twice. šŸ˜› In summary, in 1511 the Portuguese arrived, attacked and defeated the armies of the Malacca Sultanate. Then they built this fortress and it changed hands twice thereafter, first to the Dutch, then the British and perhaps an interesting link to Singapore would be found in this line: “The fort was almost totally demolished but for the timely intervention of Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of modern Singapore, who happened to visit Malacca in 1810. Because of his passion for history, this small gate was spared from destruction.”

Who knew that because of Sir Stamford Raffles’ decision, this fortress would attract to many tourists to Malacca today? šŸ™‚

Then we decided to climb up and across the hill to head to Jonker Street…

Just random street side flowers, but so pretty!

I must have mentioned Jonker Street like 2-3 times already, and it is really the highlight of Malacca, in my opinion. It’s best to coincide your visit on a weekend (Fri-Sun & Public Holiday) night, so you get to see the night market starting at 7pm! I’ve actually been there on weekday afternoons but the best experience is definitely one with the night market!!

The entire street starts with San Shu Gong, a famous traditional food snacks shop and basically we started off eating from the Satay Lok Lok food truck parked at the start and eating, and eating, and eating (yes you get my idea) all the way to the end before walking right back. #SingaporeansConfirmPlusChopCanEatMalacca Trip Blog Review and Recommendations 065 Malacca Trip Blog Review and Recommendations 066 Malacca Trip Blog Review and Recommendations 104

Us going crazy with the Lok Lok. We took a lot of unglam photos of us eating, but I shall not kill your appetite by posting them. šŸ˜›Malacca Trip Blog Review and Recommendations 067

I have been to Jonker Street thrice, and I have always bought this refreshing Honey Lime Juice drink from San Shu Gong (the red building in the background in the photo). I recommend this drink if you like something refreshing, or basically love the awesome combination of Honey & Lime like I do!!! <3

Hours: Daily 8:00am to 5:00pm

For the record, we were there at 3pm so it was a late lunch and the lunch crowd was dying and the service took really long. šŸ™ So it wasn’t a very pleasant experience but the food was undoubtedly good and I will go back again but I think best to be in the morning or during lunch timing. I’m not sure if the service is always that slow (have to wait quite long for them to refill the soup) or it’s because it was quite late so the stock was running low, but hopefully at earlier timings you get better service.

Mane Changing Experience at Revamped Chez Vous Salon

Hi Loves !

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you’ll know that I recently had a mane changing experience; I now have shorter shoulder long hair with a red dye at the ends and beneath my hair surface.

Today I’m sharing about my experience at this marvelous salon that is the newly revamped Chez Vous hair salon!

IMG_9063.JPG
A little history and background about Chez Vous Hair Salon before we begin. Founded by Thomas Teo & Riz Tan, they first started out at Bugis before becoming today’s 30 seat luxury salon at Ngee Ann City. Chez Vous Salon’s been around for 19 years and they’re also the only salon in Singapore with an “OHDA” policy with stands for “Only Hair Directors Allowed”. So you can rest assure that your mane is in good hands when you’re there! In fact a lot of Chez Vous’ clienteles are C-level executives, man and women who hold high level positions at work and need to maintain a professional image without any hassle.

So, Chez Vous Hair Salon’s just undergone a revamp and other than bringing in a redefined thematic layout and designer interior, part of the reason for this revamp stems from the founders & partners desire to re-inject the joy of a hair salon experience. They realized that customers are increasingly grumpy and stressed whenever they come for their hair cut and treatments, sometimes even whipping out their laptops and busy at work even while at the salon. So with this revamp, Chez Vous salon hopes that their customers can come to find joy at the salon; be pampered, feel soothed and relaxed with the services and facilities in place!

IMG_9058.JPG

At the entrance of the salon, a wall of colourful hands welcome customers and is also symbolic of all the staff that has built Chez Vous to what it is today. Such a beautiful concept!

IMG_9059.JPG
At the HYDRA BAR, customers can fill up with Laduree chocolates, sweets & tea, should they be required to wait when they arrive at the appointment time.

IMG_9062.JPG
The WOW private room is decked in rainbow lights and is prepared for the most discerning of clients, it’s also fitted with hair scalp diagnosis equipment and a fully fitted room for all hair treatments.

IMG_9065.JPG
There are 3 COCOON domes located the the center of the salon for customers who prefer a little more privacy for their treatments and makeovers.

IMG_9070.JPG
At the back of the salon is the SPLASH room with coloured soft fabrics decking the ceiling, each Colour representing a value that the salon believes; White for Peace, Orange for Energetic, Red for Passion and Purple for Joy. šŸ™‚

IMG_9066.JPG
Another remarkable key design piece in the salon is this handsome wood panelled face sculpture that transforms according to the viewers’ perspective. This is evocative of Chez Vous’ experimental and innovative ways, constantly transforming and improving their skills and treatments in the hair industry that makes them one of the leading salon in Singapore.

IMG_9097.JPG
As a show of support to the local fashion design scene, Chez Vous will also feature fashion designs from local personalities in store. At the time of my visit, they were showcasing Depression’s FW2014 designs. Coincidentally, on that very Sunday evening, I was attending Depression’s SS2015 runway at Digital Fashion Week! So I was very pleasantly surprised to find their pieces in the salon.

IMG_9073.JPG
After a tour of the salon, I was ushered to my seat and reviewed the two books. The first serves as a guide to all the services available at the salon.

IMG_9074.JPG

IMG_9076.JPG
Complimentary services include wifi, Samsung tablet for games, web surfing, movies, free mobile phone charging service, pillow & newspapers.

IMG_9077.JPG
A generous array of teas & coffees for selection. I had a latte!

IMG_9078.JPG

IMG_9082.JPG
You’ll find a tablet at each pod, so that each customer can be kept entertained throughout the session!

IMG_9079.JPG

IMG_9080.JPG
After a hair wash, hair director Jamie proceeded to chop off a substantial portion of my hair. What do you think?

IMG_9071.JPG

IMG_9081.JPG
A look at the Experligent Service guide book shows the types of services and treatments you can choose from, or you can simply discuss with the hair directors and they can recommend you what’s best and tailor make a treatment for you.

IMG_9084.JPG
Next I had my hair coloured, by Slicer, whose name is inspired by “ę½‡ę“’ā€ļ¼Œwhich roughly translates to Cool in English. He is pretty cool, isn’t he?

IMG_9088.JPG

IMG_9089.JPG

IMG_9087.JPG
Then I had a hair treatment session, as per Jamie’s recommendation for my slightly dry hair.

IMG_9091.JPG

IMG_9090.JPG
The final result of my new hair colour & cut, under the expert hands of Jamie & Slicer! ^_^

IMG_9092.JPG
Thanks to Eugene, Chez Vous’ brand director for giving me such a detailed tour and background of the salon and for also providing me recommendations with addresses for my upcoming trip to BKK! So thoughtful and considerate!!!

IMG_9086.JPG

IMG_9085.JPG
The list of recommended places to visit while at BKK.

IMG_9094.JPG

IMG_9093.JPG

So happy with my new hair cut & colour. ^^

IMG_9098.JPG

The Redken shampoo & conditioner that I brought home to lock in the colours for my hair. The brown and red colours were indeed very much locked in and I didn’t have much colour fade out during the initial washes! There’s also a tub of hair masque that I didn’t capture, but it’s this really awesome hair salon grade masque given by Chez Vous that makes my hair really soft. ^^

IMG_9096-0.JPG
Eugene was showing me their Amplified Hair Rebonding solution used to break the hair bonds, in PH6, unlike the usual PH9. Paper remains yellow for the PH6 solution versus paper turning green for the PH9 solution. Undoubtedly the PH9 solution is stronger but also more damaging. With this PH6, and the Amplified Hair Rebonding treatment, customers can rebond their hair up to every quarter of the year and get smoother hair yet without compromising on the health of the hair!!! I hope to be able to try this treatment the next time! ^^

Chez Vous will be introducing a Expertligent Fix You Programme!Ā If your hair is damaged either by cut, colour or any other hair chemical services within 5 days in any other salons in Singapore, regardless if you are one of Chez Vous’s guest, Chez Vous will attempt to fix it for free. Only available for 1 customer a day from Sunday to Thursday only & you’ll have to call in to fix an appointment.Ā

Another initiative is “Mix, Mingle & Makeover” where customers can book the salon in advance with their family or colleagues and have a makeover party with macarons, food & drinks together. I can imagine this would be a a totally cool pre wedding bride & bridesmaids party idea!

Firefly In The Light Musical by Prodigy Shayna Toh

Hi Loves!

I may be an effusive writer and blogger when it comes to topics, food, music and products that I really like. But I do know that the term “Prodigy” is only reserved for a select few that truly deserve it. Shayna Toh is the prodigy in mention here:

Shayna Toh,Ā a seventeen-year old Junior College student, has been studying and composing music since she was six. With a love for theatre as well as pop music, she is also an avid writer, having hadĀ severalĀ stories published since 2008 and in 2013, a children’s book (on urban nature deficit) published. Shayna made her first foray into the theatre scene at eleven, in 2008, when her script ā€œWhere Your Dream Takes Youā€Ā directed byĀ Singapore Repertory Theatre’s (SRT)Ā Director, Michael Corbidge,Ā was performed by actors from SRT and MediaCorp at the DBS Arts Centre.

Seriously, what was I doing when I was 17? I was a SAJC student busy coping with school subjects, CCA & fund raising activities. This girl is busy preparing for her debut fullĀ length pop musical! This is the kind of stuff that a full grown adult and musical talent dreams and spends half their life trying to achieve but she’s already doing it. O.O And she was only 11 when her script, ā€œWhere Your Dream Takes Youā€ was directed and performed! Kudos to the girl!

This time around, Shayna Toh has written the book/script, music and lyrics to her new musical “Firefly In The Light”.

Firefly In The Light, a new pop musical, tells the story of Wendy, a beautiful and talented teenage school- girl, who knows she is destined for great things. In her shadow, is her childhood “friend”, Jake, unassuming and insecure – who (finally) finds his strength in Wendy. Beckoned by the brightness of a future in a city thousands of miles away, Wendy leaves her small hometown to follow her dreams.

A protective mother, her elusive husband in the entertainment business, a shrewd artist manager, amidst adoring friends and fans alike- allĀ wittingly or unwittingly direct the destinies of Wendy and Jake as they search for themselves, love and success, findingĀ themselves treading on similar grounds but taking very different paths, not once but twice in their young lives.

With a collection of freshly minted songs ranging from rambunctious up-tempo pieces to soft ballads, this Musical, to be staged in the historic Chamber of The Arts House, promises the audience an intimate experience with the young, budding cast and musicians as theyĀ spin this tale of youthful hopes, discoveries and pain into an ending.Ā

The director Tabitha Loh, is yet another young talent at the age of 22:

Tabitha Loh, twenty-two, was first trained at ten, under The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art Speech and Drama Program. Completing a year under LASALLE’s Performing Arts Foundation Course and a degree in Theatre and Performance, Tabitha has worked on assistant directorships including Peter Handke’s, Kaspar (2011) with director Natalie Hennedige, Fences (2012) an original opera by Dr John Sharpley and Robert Yeo, directed by Chandran K Lingam. She directed M. Lee’s Serangoon Sunset (2012) presented at the APB Drama Schools Festival, Taiwan.
