Their star product, Black paint soap bar is a gentle pore cleansing hand-made face soap with Kishu Bichotan Charcoal (White Charcoal) cleans pores and removes oil and dirt thoroughly but gently without stripping away skin’s essential moisture, leaving skin fresh and silky smooth. It contains 23 types of plant oils, amino acids from silk powder and vitamins in honey and brown sugar.

This is the list of plant oils, for once, a beauty product ingredient list that can be read and understood in simple english and not some laboratory code language! 😀
SOAP FOUNDATION, WATER, JOJOBA SEED OIL, UREA, OLIVE OIL, ALMOND OIL, PINE EXTRACT, CHARCOAL, PALM OIL, COCONUT OIL, RAW SUGAR, IRON OXIDE, HYDROLYZED SILK, LAVENDER OIL, HONEY, GREEN TEA LEAVES, DAMASK ROSE OIL, MACADAMIA NUT OIL, AVOCADO OIL, ROSEHIP OIL, GRAPE SEED OIL, EVENING PRIMROSE OIL, FLAXSEED OIL, BORAGE SEED OIL, SAFFLOWER OIL, SUNFLOWER SEED OIL, PEANUT OIL, SESAME OIL, WALNUT SEED OIL, PERILLA FRUTESENS SEED OIL, APRICOT KERNEL OIL, HAZELNUT SEED OIL, ROSE OIL

Pretty amazing huh? A few of the oils that I understand which are really good for the skin are Coconut oil, nourishes the skin and Evening Primrose oil, helps prevent hormonal imbalances! In fact,  if you don’t know, #funfact I take Evening Primrose Oil also known as EPO nightly. One aunt first recommended it to my sister, who then recommend it to me. Been taking it for 2+ years now, and It’s one of those beauty saviour (in addition to proper skincare regime, diet, facial) that’s really helped me prevent hormonal acne outbreaks! There’s a lot other goodness/benefits of EPO, you can go read up about it online. 😉

More about the Kishu Bicotan Charcoal

One of the main factors of why BLACK PAINT is black in color is because of its White Charcoal component. White Charcoal has been widely used in Japan since thousands of years ago for their teamaking (Chado) ceremony. White charcoal is made from holm oak, a very hard wood used in kilns in the southern Kishu area in Japan. This charcoal, called Kishu Bichotan, takes about 10 – 40 years for the suitablely grown branches to be selected for its making.

Kishu Bicotan Charcoal is considered to be the best grade because it is hard and yields a long burn. Due to the hardness of the word, the charcoal made from such wood produces a high pitch ‘tingling’ sound. Bichotan is also called White Charcoal because it is covered with ash during final processing, leaving whitish ash powder on its surface.

Known as the best quality charcoal for purifying water and air, the variety of benefits of Bichotan charcoal can be found in a number of everyday uses. Whether it is used to absorb chemicals in tap water, enhance blood circulation in a hot bath, stimulate healthy soil in the garden, or deflect negative ions in your home, the environmental and chemical-free charcoal is the natural way to boost overall wellness.

Here’s the recommended usage of the Black Paint Soap Bar:

Products_BlackPaintSoap_pic6

My personal experience & review of Black Paint soap bar
Because I previously read blogger Karen of Renzze’s review, I picked up a tip from her to chop up the soap into smaller bars which is easier to apply on the face and prolongs the longevity of the soap.

What I truly love about this soap is how natural and zen it makes me feel, during the cleansing process and after it.
As pictured, it is recommended for us to apply the black paint soap over the entire face. I find the application and cleansing process very therapeutic and artistic. I feel like I am a chinese calligraphy practitioner and I am spreading ink over my face, that is the canvas. The entire experience is oddly satisfying and I recommend everyone to try this unique product! And of course, other than the interesting and unique experience, I also like that soap bar cleanses my pores, but yet doesn’t leave it squeaky clean. I used to think that squeaky clean skin is good, but I’ve now learnt that it’s better to use gentle cleansers that will clean our skin but still leave it hydrated with necessary oils on our skin. 😉

This star product has won the Grand Gold Medal of Monde Selection Award Winner for 5 consecutive years since 2009, under the Cosmetics and Toiletry category in Japan. Award winning product!

Black Paint’s Konjac Sponge
A 100% natural facial sponge made from vegetable fiber, Kishu Binchotan charcoal (White charcoal) and various minerals that enhance absorptive ability, helps removing excess oil and dead skin cells in the most delicate manner.

Konjac = 100% Natural Vegetable Fibre
The KONJAC SPONGE is the perfect tool for cleansing your face with BLACK PAINT soap, but can also be used without a cleanser. It’s gentle enough for sensitive skin and is ideal for those with oily skin and acne.

Its 100% natural vegetable fiber delicately pulls blockages from pores, while the Kishu Bichotan charcoal absorbs dirt and excess oil. You may see waste and dead skin cells coming off as flakes, a gentle exfoliation which promotes new cell growth. Skin is left with a smooth and clear finish.

How to use:

My personal experience & review of Black Paint’s Konjac Sponge

I like that it is really gentle on the skin and this second step cleansing process is a further extension of the whole zen beauty regime. Having a 100% natural vegetable fibre cleansing + massage tool, one can’t get any more zen than this, right? As shown above, do make sure you take it out of the bathroom and possibly back to your room to air dry to extend its usage~

Now we come to the 3rd + 4th steps of the beauty regime~

Black Paint’s Best Water Toner & Oil Water Lotion.

Black Paint’s Best Water Toner

A pore-minimizing toner that contains 30 types of minerals that deeply penetrates the skin (epidermis) to nourish and help restore skin’s natural barrier to prevent moisture loss

Ingredient list
WATER, SODIUM, BORON, MAGNESIUM, SILICON, SULFUR, POTASSIUM, NICKEL, SILVER, ANTIMONY, LITHIUM, ALUMINUM, PHOSPHORUS, CALCIUM, SCANDIUM, VANADIUM, CHROMIUM, MANGANESE, IRON, COPPER, ZINC, STRONTIUM, MOLYBDENUM, ARSENIC, RHODIUM, TELLURIUM, BARIUM, HOLMIUM, LEAD, COBALT, BROMINE, RUBIDIUM, TIN, IODINE, CAESIUM, TANTALUM, IRIDIUM, PLATINUM

My review of Black Paint’s Best Water Toner

In my personal opinion, this Best Water Toner is enriched water. The feel and texture is similar to applying water on your face. I personally think that this product isn’t a very effective skin softener or essence to prime the skin before lotion application. Which leads me to:

Black Paint’s Oil Water Lotion

A dual-layer emulsion that regenerates, protects, soothes, and soften the skin keeping skin soft, supple, radiant and young-looking, while a delicious rose scent uplifts the spirit.

Ingredients

ROSA DAMASCENA FLOWER WATER, OLIVE FRUIT OIL, ARGANIA SPINOSA KERNEL OIL, ROSA DAMASCENA FLOWER OIL, CRANBERRY SEED OIL, ROSE FLOWER OIL, ADONIS PALAESTINA FLOWER EXTRACT, SUNFLOWER SEED OIL, ROSA CANINA FRUIT OIL
* The ingredients listed in GREEN are organic, moisture retention ingredients.

Why Dual Layer Emulsion?

Two layers, one complete formula for regenerating and protecting your skin! Because we refuse to put any synthetic emulsifiers into our products (and onto your face), the ingredients in OIL WATER separate as they sit in the bottle. To mix them up again, just shake the bottle before using.

Ideal for sensitive and aging skin, OIL WATER helps tighten and firm up its texture. The “magic” ingredient is rose essential oil, noted for its healing and rejuvenating effects on the skin including the reduction of fine lines, wrinkles, redness and uneven color. We maximize its effectiveness with a blend of organic plant oils for hydrating protection against dry air and environmental pollution.

My review of Black Paint’s Oil Water Lotion

I enjoy using this product! Although it is a quite a hassle to shake it up before applying every time I pump it out, (2-3 pumps for my whole face) this rose scented oil water lotion is a delight to the regime as it’s completely natural, hydrating for my combination skin and it smells awesome. I love the smell of roses, so the sweet rose scent is really a huge bonus to the product.

Black Paint Blogger Review Enabalista 8

Last but not the least… *drumrolls*

Black Paint’s Water Cream

A water-based moisturizing cream that diminishes visible pores, protects your skin from dryness and maintains moisture all day long. By filling the skin with moisture, it builds resistance from outdoor environments as well as creates a smoother and more refined skin texture.

Natural Ingredients

The star ingredient in WATER CREAM is Moroccan argan oil, a renowned natural anti-aging product worn by women since ancient times. This wonder-working oil, extracted from the kernels of the argan tree, is a unique blend of oils, minerals and fatty acids. It is exceptionally rich in vitamins, particularly vitamin E.

WATER CREAM, which also has argan oil and 7 more organic plant oils, makes use of these ingredients for additional protection and moisture, restoring the skin’s own youthful capability to resist drying agents from both within and without. Use it as a make-up base during the day and a moisturizing cream at night.

DIMETHICONE/PEG-10/15 CROSSPOLYMER, GLYCERIN, SQUALANE, ARGANIA SPINOSA KERNEL OIL, ROSA DAMASCENA FLOWER OIL, SODIUM HYALURONATE, OLIVE FRUIT OIL, HYDROLYZED COLLAGEN, MACADAMIA TERNIFOLIA SEED OIL, SWEET ALMOND OIL, ROSA DAMASCENA FLOWER WATER, XANTHAN GUM, SODIUM CHLORIDE, MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE, ROSE FLOWER OIL, LAVENDER OIL
* The ingredients listed in GREEN are organic, moisture retention ingredients.

My review of Black Paint’s Water Cream

I think it would be more accurate to name it Water Cream with a tinge of Moroccan Argan oil. I don’t like the oil feel on my skin, which I would liken it to the lip balm(albeit gel and not solid form) feel. After using it for 3 weeks, I can attest that the oil did not break me out and in fact I am impressed by the cream. To name it Water Cream isn’t accurate or doing it justice, but I guess some customers might be turned off with the idea of applying oil on your face. But as you can tell and have read from Black Paint’s super educational facts and my personal review above, applying natural oils on your face isn’t as bad as it seems.

It might seem weird that most ladies spend their dollars on oil removing and oil prevention beauty products, but here Black Paint is campaigning for natural oils for the skin. The Black Paint way of skincare is radically different, requires a fair bit of education for us customers but I can say that the journey for me has been enjoyable and the experience, rewarding. I would definitely recommend this regime to all you beauty lovers, for a zen and natural beauty experience~

It is recommended to use the Black Paint skincare range solely (no mixing) for 28 days to maximize results, however it is ok to use the soap and sponge with other skincare brands if preferred.

This is a really long post huh? Well, to sum it all up, here’s the entire regime in a poster:

Visible Whitening with Elizabeth Arden

Hello all you lovely people~

In a blink of an eye 😉 ,  May’s here! I do hope you’re enjoying this lovely May Day. 🙂

Well, I hope you’re out having dinner or relaxing at home, cause I’m here at my desk blogging. 😀

If you’re a regular reader, you’ll know that I don’t have a schedule for publishing new posts. I try to write as much as I can (which isn’t more than 2-3 posts each seating, haha!) when I’m free and schedule them over the week. Lately the drafts have been piling up due to the fashion, beauty & lifestyle events I’ve attended and products received for review. And I always think that I should spend a certain time of the day (early morning, really) to blog, but I don’t have that discipline to do so, sigh pie. :/ I also hope to be able to share more creative and original content (yunno, like non-sponsored posts, haha!) but I also have an obligation (personally-imposed) to finish blogging about the sponsored ones first. Plus, it’s not nice if I get invited as a blogger, but then I don’t blog about it right? HAHA. Ok, surely you get my drift, that you can expect a lot of new content on my blog, content that you’ll and you’re hopefully enjoying! 😀

So, a while back I attended Elizabeth Arden’s Visible Whitening Blogger event, introducing their  Visible Whitening Intense Brightening Biocellulose Mask and Visible Whitening Anti-Melanin Spot Corrector.

My review

Elizabeth Arden Visible Whitening Intense Brightening Biocellulose Mask

It was my first time using a Biocellulose mask, and I think that it takes some getting use to. I’m rather accustomed to cotton-type masks and this Biocellulose mask feels like jelly on the skin. The concept of the Biocellulose mask is that it fits onto the facial contours like “second skin”. The feel of the mask is no doubt luxurious. Each box comes with 5 masks and each mask is individually wrapped with key ingredients such as Vitamin A derivative, Vitamin B3, and optical diffusers to help firm and brighten skin’s appearance instantly and with continued use by reducing the appearance of imperfections. In addition, Vitamin C derivative and Lipoamino Acid work to significantly reduce the appearance of existing dark spots and uneven skin tone.

Key Ingredients

Lipoamino Acid and Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) — assist with the appearance of uneven skin tone.

Vitamin A Derivative (retinyl linoleate) — Supports skin’s own collagen and elastin matrix to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and enhance skin’s ability to reflect light.

Vitamin C Derivative— Controls melanin production to help enhance skin’s brightness and diminish darkness over time.

Adenosine— Supports skin’s own natural collagen to reduce visible signs of aging.

Hyaluronic Acid and Barley Extract Complex— Helps to increase skin’s moisture content to minimize the appearance of wrinkles and refine the look of pores.

Licorice Extract – Helps to inhibit tyrosinase activity to prevent the formation of dark spots and uneven skin tone.

Glycerin— Helps to improve skin’s moisture content.

Mica Minerals and Corn Starch—Optical ingredients able to reflect light to instantly brighten the look of skin and impart immediate radiance.

The suggested usage is 2 masks weekly, for 4 weeks to achieve optimum results. I would recommend this mask for ladies who appreciate a luxurious feel during their mask regime, and/or as a gift for a special woman (mother, wife, girlfriend) to show that you care. 😉 Each box set retails at SGD$90.

Elizabeth Whitening Visible Whitening Biocellulose Mask & Spot Corrector Launch Enabalista 21

Elizabeth Visible Whitening Anti-Melanin Spot Corrector  aims to target stubborn dark spots and uneven skin tone, reducing their intensity. Infused with intensive skin brighteners, such as Vitamin C derivative and an exfoliating agent, pre-existing melanin in the skin’s outer most layer looks diminished and new melanin production is controlled. Due to the exfoliating agent, the spot corrector will result in the dark spot drying and falling off, and it’s not advisable to be scratched off. After testing it out, I personally don’t fancy the product compared to other spot correctors I have used. I feel that it would be better if the spot can be corrected without having to dry and flak off. 🙂 Maybe the R&D team can take in this suggestion and improve their next formula?  Each tube comes in 20ml, retails for SGD$110.

Key Ingredients:

Lipoamino Acid—Assists with the appearance of uneven skin tone.

Vitamin C Derivative— Controls melanin production to help enhance skin’s brightness and diminish darkness over time.

Protease Enzyme—Eliminates dead skin cells to smooth skin’s surface and supports natural cell renewal to help exfoliate surface pigmentation.

Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Soy Amino Acids and Yeast Extract Blend— Helps maintain skin’s hydration and moisture balance.

Hyaluronic Acid—Helps to hold moisture in skin.

My date with J’s Nails

Nail Art is gaining popularity in this sunny island Singapore.

So imagine my delight when J’s nail’s invited me down for a session of their nail service and to review their nail salon! 🙂

J’s Nail’s Salon is located at 19 Shelford condominium, a little shop right in front of the pool area.

Some of the current trending designs, i picked the design on the second column, second from the bottom. Opting to replace the neon yellow with blue. 🙂 These designs are done by Vivien / Joann, usually they will take inspiration from magazines and trends and input their own flair to it. So there is really no duplicate and every design is unique. Plus they will also take in your preference and customize a design as per your requests.

And the work begins!

Vivien nail artist and manicurist attended to me, she explains that opting for hard gel would be easier to mould and design the nail art. So I went for the hard gel option, versus the soft gel.Js Nails Review Enabalista 12

Here’s Vivien using the machine to sand my nails and prep them before applying the gel. And how cute are her minion designed nails?! ^^

After each layer of gel applied there would be a short UV light period. As the period if very short, there should be no UV damage to the skin. Since we don’t do this daily as well. But if you’re worried, you can always remember to apply amply sunblock lotion to your hands and fingers before the session. 🙂Js Nails Review Enabalista 17

A little more about J’s nails:

Services provided include Gel Manicure, Gel Pedicure, Nail Art, Manicure, Pedicure, Hand Spa and Foot Spa. Each is itself a different abyss to take you to various levels of relaxation.

J’s Nail believes in education, having been rigorously trained from Hong Kong Nail Collections Academy. From time to time, J’s Nail also works closely with the academy to keep the nail art profession up to date, and deliver the latest industry trends and choice to the customer.

And here are the prices:Js Nails Review Enabalista 26

A nail design like mine shown above will cost $70 for hard gel service, + $58 for nail design, totalling SGD$128.
These nails will last 3-4 weeks, depending on how fast your nails grow. Usually they would recommend making your next appointment in advance. Also it is advisable to go back to them for removal service as it requires sanding. But no worries, as they will always leave a thin layer of gel covering your nails and will not actual sand your real nails! Thus your nails are kept protected. Vivien kindly explained all these to me because I’m on that’s afraid of thinning and nail breakage.

Hi lovelies!

How have all of you been? Have you been treating your precious skin well?

If you feel like your skin is in need of a perk me up, I just might have the solution for you today! 🙂

Recently Skincode Singapore held an exclusive bloggers’ event at Novotel and I had the pleasure of attending the intimate session. Even though Skincode was a brand new to me, I readily accepted their event invitation because it’s a Swiss brand, and the Swiss are famous for their skincare. 🙂

In case you’re new to the Skincode Brand, let me fill you in a little about them, you can find these information from their site.

skincode_extra

Skincode AG, a Swiss-based beauty company founded in 1998 by a team of professionals with profound knowledge and experience in the cosmetics industry reinforces Switzerland`s reputation for state-of-the-art skincare.

The Skincode range includes two results-oriented lines to answer to your needs and to suit your personal preferences. Built on the principle that the skin is a living organ and its genetic “code” must be respected, the collections provide consumers with high-performance, innovative skincare products reflecting the precision, purity and quality that are synonymous with Switzerland.

Skincode Essentials is an advanced dermocosmetic skincare line formulated to satisfy the daily skincare needs of both women and men. From cleansing to anti-aging, moisturizing to beautifying and even lightening, Skincode Essentials has you covered. The products, dermatologically tested, contain a sophisticated blend of natural extracts and biotech ingredients (some medical grade), while being 100% free of fragrance, preservatives, colors and animal derivatives, making them suitable for even the most sensitive skin. CM-Glucan, a key ingredient in all of the products, protects the skin’s natural defense mechanism and stimulates Collagen and Elastin production, making them suitable for even the most sensitive skin.

Switzerland has a long tradition of cellular therapy, people from all over the world have been visiting Swiss clinics to receive such rejuventating and anti-aging treatment. Skincode Exclusive is a luxury-orientated, revolutionary cellular skincare line designed to address the specific needs of mature skin. The powerful anti-aging treatments speed up the cell renewal process, which slows with age. The key ingredient: Active Cellular Regenerating Complex Generation 2 (ACR Complex G2) is a truly ground breaking development in the fight against aging skin. Skincode Exclusive products are formulated without Parabens and with an allergen-free fragrance.

Recently the founder of Skincode, Prince Niclas Massalsky came to Singapore and he was interviewed on Straits Times. You can check out the article here.

Now I’ll let the photos from the bloggers’ session do the talking~ 😉

So cute, that I have to take a picture with it first!
I was told that this is one of Skincode’s best seller and star product, Cellular Perfect Skin Capsules.

Another photo of it, along with sample satchets and stationary set prepared for the evening.
Skincode Singapore Blogger Event Cupcakes Star Product Skin Capsules Write up

Here’s the cupcake icing and the product write up, side by side! Cellular Perfect Skin Capsules contains luxurious silky serum that will help improve skin’s elasticity, regenerates and soothes the skin. Each of us got to test out one capsule and boy, the experience was remarkable! When applied, the capsule oozes out a small liquid dose that feels powdery and velvety yet after application the skin is silky smooth. Amazing description, I know! You simply have got to experience it to believe and understand it. This serum truly embodies the touch of luxury as it leaves the skin smooth and pampered, much like a coat of velvet on your skin. Ahh~~~

Skincode Singapore Blogger Event Cupcakes Presenter

The evening was equal parts presentation by Ceceila Weidner, Skincode Global Beauty Consultant and Trainer and equal parts hands-on workshop where we got to test the products from both the Skincode Essentials and Exclusive ranges. Essentials as it is named provides the basic essential skincare, whereas Exclusive is more focused on anti-aging concerns. I lost count of the products we tried, it must have been between 10-20 of them! It was one of the most hands-on presentation and skincare workshop I’ve attended. And I’ve got to say, nothing beats being able to experience the efficacy of the products hands on even if it’s for a short 5-10 minutes! I can attest that Skincode is so proud of their products that they simply believe people will love their products after testing and usage. More on that later when we get to their product counters. Skincode Singapore Blogger Event Extra Gentle Skin Refiner

This, my dear friends, is one of my favourite Skincode product. Or maybe THE MOST favourite. It’s called the Extra Gentle Skin Refiner, what a cute name right? But don’t let that cute name fool you, cause it’s simply one of the most remarkable masks I’ve used and I do believe I’ve tried & used several by now and I can say I am a fan of this product. If you were to ask me to recommend which Skincode product to try and start with, I would say this. Why am I waxing lyrical all about this product (and I wasn’t even sponsored to review this product, lol)? It’s simply because, after a short 10-15minutes of application, generous application may I add, just like what you see above, a gentle wipe off will reveal skin that is visibly moisturized and supple. Some of us bloggers can even see a fairer skin. As it is named, the key feature of this mask is that it acts as a gentle exfoliating mask, that will reveal a fresher and more radiant looking skin as it is formulated with a subtle blend of actives which removes dead skin cells and impurities. I can’t explain to you the science behind this mask, but IT WORKS. If this product was made in the past, the researchers in Skincode Swizterland laboratories would be akin to magicians formulating potion, cause this works pretty much like *~**magic**~*. 😀 For an in-depth review, check out this review by Denise Li on Material World.Skincode Singapore Blogger Event Cupcakes Eye Serum

Another remarkable product we tried & tested is this Cellular Wrinkle Prohibiting Eye Serum. It is formulated to rejuvenate the delicate skin around the eye area and to reduce dark circles and puffiness. As you can see, It is golden and shimmery as the photo-reflector particles work to instantly illuminate your eye area. Essentially what these photo reflector particles, aka golden particles does is it catches light so that all the darkness around your eye goes away, instantly removing the eye-bags. Amazing, huh? That’s why consumers are the most powerful people today, ask and you will be given, even instant miracle products can be created/formulated – things that were perhaps deemed impossible in the past.

At the event, each blogger got to bring home a Whitening & Brightening set for use and here’s my review~

Skincode Singapore Guardian Whitening & Brightening Kit Order

I love the packaging. It’s clean, fuss free and I love the touch and feel of sturdy glass jar and pots.

Skincode Singapore Guardian Whitening & Brightening Kit Hero Products

The kit is applied in this order, twice daily in the morning and evening after cleansing:
1. Cool White Essence
2. Lightening Eye Contour Cream
3. UV Protective Whitening Cream with SPF 12 (only for the day)

Skincode Singapore Guardian Whitening & Brightening Kit Serum

1. Cool white essence as a liquid drop with liquid-gel like consistency.

1. Cool white essence thoroughly hydrates the skin when applied.Skincode Singapore Guardian Whitening & Brightening Kit Eye Cream
2. Lightening Eye Contour Cream is a white cream of moderate consistent, but not oily or greasy to the touch.Skincode Singapore Guardian Whitening & Brightening Kit Eye Cream on Skin2. Lightening Eye Contour Cream when applied reveals a fairer shade of skin.

Skincode Singapore Guardian Whitening & Brightening Kit Sunblock

3. UV Protective Whitening Cream with SPF 12 is a very lightweight cream with watery characteristics. Blends smoothly and evenly with no hassle.Skincode Singapore Guardian Whitening & Brightening Kit Sunblock on Skin
3. UV Protective Whitening Cream with SPF 12 is colourless after blending and applied evenly into the skin. The result of application of all three products in the kit is a more hydrated and fairer skin shade. Skin is more dewy and definitely prepped for make up,  if you do apply. As they say, your makeup foundation is only as good as the skin beneath it, so boys and girls, it’s always important to maintain good skin through proper skincare!

After using the Whitening & Brightening kit for 2 weeks and counting, what I love most about it is the Cool White Essence. There is a light tingly sensation when applied and this essence keeps my face hydrated day and night, thereby curbing my skin’s usually oily glands. As a result, my skin is less oily. Yay! Having combination skin (normal with oily T-zones) Skincode products serve me well. On humid days, the kit may feel a bit too damp on the skin, however they are usually perfect for a sunny day and I can only imagine how much more remarkable they will serve in colder countries, like Japan and Switzerland! That’s all I have to say for the review and the kit, if you have any questions at all, feel free to ask me via comments below, on Facebook/Instagram or Twitter~!

Still want to know more about Skincode? I recommend this review by fellow blogger Kiyora on her blog here.

Skincode products are sold at Guardian stores, to experience the Skincode counter personally, I went down to check out the Guardian outlet at Takashimaya. You may also find them at the Guardian at Paragon and Marina Bay Sands. For the Takashimaya and MBS outlets, Skincode shelves are visibly seen at the entrance!

The same folks behind Carpenter & Cook are also the brains behind a props, styling & events company Heaven In a Wild Flower. Such quirky names! 🙂

~ My Review ~

The pics above were taken with normal lightning and has no filters at all. As you can see, the Collection Cosmetics Bright & Glow BB cream was very effective in covering the blemishes on my face. I’ve used it for several days and I really like that the BB cream is lightweight while providing good coverage, does not clog my pores and does not cause a break out. *double thumbs up* It’s safe for oily/combination skin types. PLUS they also last all day. I use the BB cream in 02 (medium to dark) and compact foundation in 02 Ivory.

The BB cream contains mineral pigments that evens out skin tone and conceals imperfection. The formula is further enhanced with Vitamin E and Sodium Hyaluronate, to keep the skin hydrated, as well as Vitamin C contained in light reflective powders to create a brightening effect for an all day glow. It also contains SPF30, protecting skin against UVB rays. The BB cream is specially formulated for Asian skin (despite Collection Cosmetics being a UK cosmetic brand, shows that they’re SERIOUS about entering the Asian market!) and is available in 2 shades, Light-Medium and Medium to Dark. Retails at $16.90 for 30 ml each.

Collections Bright & Glow Review 1 Collections Bright and Glow Review 2

The Bright & Glow Brightening Compact Foundation is made from smooth particles, creating a radiant look without clogging pores. Rich in pigments and mineral powder to even out skin tone and conceal blemishes, it also contains an oil control powder.  After application of the BB cream, the powder helps to set the cream for a longer lasting finish. It’s great for areas such as the forehead, nose and jaw line areas where you want to minimize the shine, but do keep the cheeks untouched/un-powdered for that dewy look. 😉 It is available in 4 shades: Vanilla, Ivory, Almond and Honey, retails at $18.90 each.

I personally think that the BB cream is good for a stand-a-lone product & I would definitely recommended it. For the more conscientious girls, you might want to buy both and bring the compact powder with you for touch ups in the mid day or after work  before you head out for an event or a party. 😉

Collection Cosmetics is available at selected Watsons stores, BHG (Bugis) and their own pop-up store in Cineleisure level 2.

Crabtree & Evelyn Pear & Pink Magnolia

 In the thick of Spring,
what can be better than to smell the mix of fruity pear and floral magnolia?

2014-03-13 10.03.03How cute are the pears, right? 🙂

The scent is indeed true to its name and just as it sounds.
A sweet feminine blend of pear and pink magnolia.

It’s my current favourite scent as a spritz in the morning will make me feel like
I’m walking out to a garden of florals and pear trees blossoming around me.
It definitely sets me right for the day in a happy cheery mood! 😉

The hand cream is ultra-moisturizing,
I recommend application on the back of your hands to keep your back fingers and hands hydrated in air-con,
without greasing your inner hand and fingers. 😉

Eau de Toilette retail price: S$38 for 30ml and S$75 for 100ml.
Ultra Moisturising Hand Therapy S$13 for 25g and S$33 for 100g.

The night was sublime.
The food, drinks, presentation, demonstration and company was amazing.

Valerie Lim was the host of the night and it was lovely meeting the young and capable managing director of Porcelain, the Face Spa, Pauline Ng. Not forgetting to mention the band Char Siew Baos were really good live performers crooning to the melodies of the night.

Porcelain the Face Spa started out in 2009, and believes in foundation free skin.
In 2013, they won the Best Beauty Spa in Asia at the prestigious World Luxury Spa Awards.
In addition to bringing in new facial machines and treatments, they have also formulated their own line of skincare products.

Porcelain Face Spa Blogger Event Porcelain Face Spa Blogger Event Products Porcelain Face Spa Blogger Event Pore SerumTheir star product, the Porcelain Flawless Pore and Spot Intensive Serum.

It is non-comodogenic (non pore clogging) and paraben (preservatives) free, ingredients consisting of Vitamin C, CoQ10 and Sodium Hyaluronate, it is designed for the following 6 benefits:
1. Pore refining
2. Moisturizing
3. Skin Brightening
4. Anti-aging
5. Improved skin tone and elasticity
6. Lightened dark spots and soothed wrinkles

After using this product for 1+week, I am loving it very much.
I use it after toner, apply 3-4 drops on my face. It is extremely hydrating which a thick water base gel-like consistency (thanks to the CoQ10 which also targets wrinkle treatment). When applied on the face it takes a minute of massage and patting for the serum to fully absorb into the skin.

Application in the morning keeps the face hydrated throughout the day and application in the night keeps my face fresh and hydrated when I am awake. Definitely recommended and safe for oily and combination skin types. If you’re just starting out with serums and you’re looking for a safe and hydrating serum (versus the nourishing serums which may be too enriching for young and/or sensitive skin), I would suggest this.

Priced at $41 for 8ml, it can last for 3 weeks. Product has to be finished within 3 weeks upon opening.
$164 for 40ml.

Let me just say that the food was ridiculously generous. It kinda helped that I was there early. 😀  The noteworthy desserts are pastries and macarons(or macaroons? :P) by Cremeberry and Push & Pop Cakes Emicakes. I tried the strawberry flavour and there’s real strawberry chunks (yes, chunks) and the cake is soft and the creme is rich, the way I like it! Who knew Push & Pop cakes could be SO DELICIOUS?   >.<  Speaking of which, do you know that Emicakes are famous for their durian cake? They use to have one at Marine Parade and my church friends and I would often buy cakes from there, years back. Ok, maybe just me buying cakes and indulging. Oops. OK… getting back to topic here…

Depending on what phone you use, download VanityTrove’s new app on iTunes here and GooglePlay here.
You can find me “@EnaTeo” and follow me there if you have an account. 😉 Check out my web profile here.
If you want to know why you need another photo-sharing app (isn’t Instagram enough?) on your mobile, the reasons I can think of are:

2. Brand Promotions / Giveaways
Yes, you can do so on Instagram too, but VanityTrove has some brand engagements exclusive to their app. 🙂

If you’d like to read more about VanityTrove tech news, I recommend this Yahoo piece and these on TechInAsia.

Benefit Cosmetics EnabalistaTesters for Gimme-Brow Brow Brush, They’re Real Mascara & Porefessional Pro Pore Balm (that’s oil-free, yay!).

I’ve tried the mascara, the nice make up expert “doctor” in the lab coat at the beauty counter created very pretty lashes for me.
The formulation is lightweight and buildable, creating realistic and longer lashes. Will test out these babies for my #LOTD looks on my instagram, be sure to follow me @ena_teo! 🙂

Benefit Lollitint

Another product that I tried, the Benefit Lollitint is surprisingly something I like.
This product is meant for your lips as well as your cheeks! The same “doctor” freshened my look at Vanity Trove’s GSB event (which I’ll be blogging about soon) in this purple pink colour and I love the look. Surprisingly the Lollitint is velvety on the lips, and dries smoothly on the lips. The pigmentation is quite strong, thus lasts long, on the lips and the cheeks. The only concern I have is that the application isn’t very friendly in the sense that it might not be very hygienic to apply the product on the lips with the applicator and then proceed to dap some on the cheeks to spread out. So I reckon if I do get this, I might use one exclusively for the lips!

Follow Benefit Cosmetics Singapore on their Facebook page here for their product launches & promotions~.

This game required us to pitch the “crystal” balls through the holes in order to win beauty goodies. Aren’t we glad that technology has improved thus far so that we can actually have safe beauty products? >.<

My eye, hair & lip character reading:

The Sweet Surrender
You’re a combination of sugar & spice, but the twist is your sweetness is the mystery.

The Delectable Mist
You are a motivated & career oriented girl but when the time comes, you can still be playful & cheeky.

The Tantalize Caress
You wear your heart on your sleeve, but your sweetness & soft nature wins the hearts of many.

I think the reading is really quite generic except for the hair reading. HAHA. I am really a motivated and career oriented girl and can be playful when I want to be!

The Secret of Ma Chérie’s products is their Champagne Honey Gelee which is a formulation that protects hair from oxidative stress (I wiki-ed to read what it’s about, simply put it means damage to cells from the outside environment…), retains moisture, softens and adds shine to hair. For the specific ingredients and function breakdown you can read from the image above. 😉

Ma Chérie has two range:

L’Oreal Paris Bloggers’ Event & New EverStrong Thickening Hair & Scalp System Review

Hi lovelies~

I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, like I am~ ^^

A few weeks back, I attended the L’Oreal Paris Hair Bloggers’ Event. Today I’m gonna blog about the event and my reviews of their products from the new range, EVERSTRONG Thickening Sulfate Free Hair & Scalp system. 😉

The bloggers’ event was held at Lime House, 2 Jiak Chuan Road, an in-road from Keong Saik Street.
Heading back there brought back a flood of memories because Keong Saik Street was where I started my first job after JC. The place has changed quite a bit, lesser dingy pubs and more classy restaurants catering to tourists and expats. But it still has that old school charm. I would definitely head back and explore this place again.
The finger food and beverages were just right to feed our empty bellies before the presentation started. After the presentation, we had the chance to have our scalp tested and put our creatively to good use for some floral arrangement!

I love floral arrangements because I love flowers, the beauty they embody and the sweet scent they bring. I also like how floral arrangement allows for relaxation, creativity of expression and zen moments.

Quite coincidentally, the florist L’Oreal invited, Christopher, is the same florist that I learnt floral arrangement from back when I was in JC, so as to enter a floral arrangement competition! 🙂

It was such a pleasure to meet with lovely Leanne at the event who’s always such a dear. Check out her beauty focused instagram @loveforskincare. I am a huge fan of her collages, as they display great use of light and unique eye for aesthetics. <3

L'Oreal Paris EverStrong Singapore Enabalista Review L'Oreal Paris EverStrong Singapore Enabalista Review 3.jpg L'Oreal Paris EverStrong Singapore Enabalista Review 1

~My Review~

I’ve been using L’Oreal Paris EVERSTRONG Thickening sulfate free hair & scalp system for a few weeks now. I can attest that this range of shampoo, conditioner and tonic does a smashing job in fortifying thinning hair and purifying the scalp. I recently had my hair cut as I was finding long hair tough to manage and also getting worried when my hair was dropping quite drastically. I would get a lot of hair dropping whenever I showered and combing my then long hair. However, after getting my hair cut and starting on this hair care range, my hair has thankfully thickened back to normal and my hair loss has decreased. I no longer react to “omg so much hair dropped” in the shower and when I’m combing hair. Even a hair stylist commented just this weekend when I was getting my hair ends curled at a beauty event that I have thick hair, which made me happy! ^^

I am thoroughly loving this hair care range of EVERSTRONG Thickening sulfate free hair shampoo, conditioner and tonic. The shampoo cleanses well, the conditioner does not leave an artificial waxy after feel but rather conditions naturally. This range is unique with their two star ingredients; Rosemary & Mint. Rosemary helps to stimulate hair growth, soothes dry, sensitive scalp and prevents dandruff. While Mint is a well known scalp and follicle stimulant. Using these products in the shower brings a very refreshing feel and scent to my hair and sense. I am very satisfied even long after my shower, knowing how well my hair is cleansed, cared and how good it smells. 😀

Unlike most tonic, this tonic is unique in that it is formulated to be used at the hair roots, to be massaged into your scalp. It is liquid and non oily. I use one spritz and massage from the top of my head and outwards.

Perhaps the only downside to this range of products is that you have to use all three shampoo, conditioner and tonic together to achieve the full desired effect. I always use shampoo and conditioner together (whether with this range or not) because each product has different functions and I tend to have frizzy hair, so conditioner is a must. However my sister commented that when she use the shampoo without the conditioner, her hair and scalp tend to be too drying.

L’Oreal Paris Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner retails at $14.90 for 250ml each, Tonic at $29.90 for 100ml at supermarkets, pharmacies and departmental stores islandwide. I’ve done the math for you, the whole system will cost $59.70. 😉

L'Oreal Paris EverStrong Extraodinary Oil Singapore Enabalista Review

L’Oreal Paris Extraordinary Oil is just as it is named. It is really a superb product. The difference when I apply it on my hair ends compared to when I don’t (on days when I am lazy or in a rush to get out) is remarkable. I do not have a habit of applying hair oil as I tend to find it a hassle and don’t like to have to wash my hands again before I head out. But after using this product, I am now convinced that I have found the solution to frizzy hair and I have found the secret to beautiful hair. I know this sounds damn exaggerating and dramatic, but I kid you not. The reason behind the powers of this oil is due to its flower extracts ingredients: Flax, Tiare, Rose, Lotus, Chamomile and Matricaria. The best part is, the new formulation now comes with UV filter protection, keeping your hair protected from harmful and drying UV rays, keeping it luscious.

Another reason why this hair oil is extraordinary is because its usage is mani-fold. You can use it before you colour your hair, the night before, so that your hair is deeply nourished and well-prepped for colour treatment so that your hair will not be left dry and brittle. Before blow drying. Mix it with your hair mask and as a finishing touch.

I use it as a finishing touch, while my hair is still wet and before blow drying. Just one spritz is sufficient for my whole head’s hair ends and when my hair is dry, it’s smooth and straight the entire day.

L’Oreal Paris Extraordinary Oil retails at $26.90 for 100ml at supermarkets, pharmacies and departmental stores islandwide.

It was a lovely tea session getting acquainted with other beauty bloggers and hearing their insights!

Sothys Dark Circle Eraser (Concealer)

It’s definitely recommended to apply the multi action lotion (just a little of the lotion goes a long way)
to prep the skin and to smooth wrinkles out before the treating concealer goes on.

I tried it out for a day and it’s a little too nourishing for my skin as my skin tends to get oily throughout the day.
However I would recommend this for ladies whose eyes are dry and need a “perk me up” eye regime.
I’ll be gifting/passing this small kit to my mum for her use. 🙂

April Boulevard Japanese Masks Review

Hi lovelies~

Don’t you love a good mask after a day’s of work, just to relax in before you rest for the night?

Well, I know that I do! ^^

Thanks to April Boulevard, I’ve been able to enjoy the pleasure of a good mask nightly for many weeks now!

April Boulevard is a local Singapore company that brings in Japanese masks not yet found in Singapore.
They believe that quality masks does not necessarily need to come with a hefty price tag.
The masks are made of 100% Japanese cotton and suitable for daily use.  They are also infused with high tech beauty essence and are consistently top ranked in Japan’s ultra competitive domestic market.
With product prices ranging from $23.90 to $34.90 for a month’s supply (each box comes in a pack of 30 sheets),
April Boulevard is proud to boast that no other product on the local shelves comes close in terms of pricing for the quality of masks offered.

April Boulevard sent me 3 of their best sellers for review:

April Boulevard Japanese Skincare Review April Boulevard Japanese Skincare Review

April Boulevard Japanese Skincare Review

Such a sweet note from them! ^^

The formula for these daily masks are not as potent or concentrated as the weekly masks.
Thus they are meant for daily maintenance and can be used / replacement for moisturizers at night.
One may choose to apply moisturizers after the masks, if one feels the skin requires.

Usage:
Leave mask on for 10-15 minutes. No washing required after application.

Their best selling masks are:

April Boulevard Japanese Skincare Review

1. SPC Japan Snail Mask
Though snail essence is not new to Japan’s skincare industry,
this ingredient is only starting to gain popularity in Singapore.
The mask is great for treating dull skin as snail secretion helps regenerates the skin cells.
Available online here.

~My review~
The mask itself is colourless, scentless and fragrance-less.
After using this masks continuously for a few days, my skin feels hydrated and smoother.
The effect is also visible and retained after a night’s rest.
This formula feels slightly richer / more nourishing when compared to the other two masks.
The cutting of the mask is slightly off compared to the other two Japan Gals masks.
It might affect me as my face is slightly smaller than usual. But I don’t have an issue for the Japan Gal masks. 🙂

April Boulevard Japanese Skincare Review
2.  Japan Gals
Pure 5 Essence (Hyaluronic Acid)
Hyaluronic Acid is well known for its intense hydration effect on the skin.
This range is superb for those with sensitive skin as it has no alcohol content.
Available online here.

~My review~
I am a fan of hyaluronic acid skincare products, whether it’s in moisturizers or lip gels as it keeps my skin
that much more hydrated by locking the moisture in for a longer period of time.
After use, my skin is visibly refreshed and more supple.
The mask has a refreshing and light aqua scent, which may appeal to those who love aqua-based products.

April Boulevard Japanese Skincare Review

3. Japan Gals VC+Nano-C mask
VC stands for Vitamin C and Nano-C stands for nano collagen.
These are the 2 key ingredients for this mask. There are no artificial colouring, fragrance and mineral oil.
It has anti-aging, whitening and hydrating functions all in one mask.
Hence this is a favourite among  April Boulevard’s customers.
Available here.

~My review~
Vitamin C is known for its many positive effects of boosting restoration
as well as lightening blemishes and whitening to one’s original skin tone.
Nano-C helps to retain and firm one’s collagen in the skin.
After use, my skin is hydrated and fairer.
I can’t attest to the anti-aging aspect cause I haven’t used it for super long and plus my skin is still young. (Cue awkward smile.)
Nonetheless, it’s hard to top a mask that has hydrating, whitening and anti-aging functions.
Even if I can’t see the anti-aging effect, it’s like an added bonus to the other two functions.
This is my favourite mask of the 3! 🙂

I like the Japan Gals masks as the quality is good in terms of the cotton, cut as well as the essence used.
Also the packaging is super pretty for the VC+Nano-C mask, so you can also consider buying it as a gift. 😉
I think girls always love receiving masks as gifts cause you can never have enough
and they can always be kept for use in the future (not to long away).

HABA Japanese Non-Additive Skincare Review

Hello~!

Today I’ll be reviewing a set of products from HABA, a Japanese skincare and beauty line. ^^

HABA Skincare Review

HABA the brand, is an acronym which stands for Health Aid Beauty Aid.
HABA believes in beauty from the inside out:
that the right skincare and healthcare will lead to a better life.

HABA also desires for their users to experience a Non-Additive mindset,
which originates from Hokkaido, Japan.

What is unique about HABA is that it boasts to be:
Paraben-Free
Mineral Oil Free
Artificial Colourant Free
Artificial Fragrance Free
Petrochemical Surfactant Free

These are common additives (aka preservatives) in many brands’ products
that can cause skin irritation and allergic reactions.
Instead, HABA uses ingredients such as sasa kurilensis water (bamboo extract) which acts as a preservative, contains antibacterial properties and helps to keep the skin moisturized. (Is that why bamboo juice is so refreshing on a hot summer day?!). HABA only uses ingredients that are safe  and healthy for the skin.

Enabalista HABA Skincare Review

Weeks back, I was invited down for a mini facial and skincare treatment at the HABA Suntec outlet.

The skincare treatment consists of the items which I also brought back for use to review.

The regime is as such:

HABA Micro Force Cleansing Review

1) Cleanse
with HABA’s Micro Force Cleansing
2 in 1 make up remover and cleanser

Usage:
I pump 1-2 times on my cotton pad and wipe away my makeup.
Then I will gently cleanse my face with water.

After using this to remove my make up, it also cleanses my skin, so technically it saves me one step!
That said, however I still use a gentle cleanser in the shower. 😛

I love this water based cleanser as it is very hydrating and moderate in consistency,
much like a water based lotion and cleanses gently as much as  thoroughly.

HABA White Lady Whitening Serum Review

2) Special Care
with HABA’s best selling whitening serum, White Lady

Usage:
I use 1 pump for my entire (small) face.
Pump generously into your palm for how much you require,
and gently pat on your face with your fingers.

This serum is developed from a doctor’s formula,
contains sasa kurilensis water (bamboo extract) and vitamin C,
it is moisturizing, antiseptic and has sterilizing effects.
The serum is light weight and is liquid in consistency.

HABA VC Whitening Healing Toner Review

3) Moisturize with
HABA’s VC lotion, whitening toner

Usage:
Apply VC Lotion by patting lightly on the skin with both hands.
HABA encourages ladies to apply this toner 5 times during each use.
This way, the product can fully penetrate the skin, leaving it refreshed and supple.

I was quite amazed at why I was never previously educated on this method,
it does make a lot of sense since toner bottles always come in such big bottles and take forever to finish.
That said, it’s still important to check and follow the recommended dosage for different brands
as not all toners are formulated in the same way. 🙂

VC lotion is a moisturizing alcohol free toner infused with Vitamin C derivative
which can penetrate the skin better and is non irritating to the skin.
It also contains Ceramide nanosome which
helps to keep moisture levels in your skin for a longer time.

HABA Squalane Beauty Oil Review

4) Protect
with HABA’s Squalane

Usage:
With hands and face still moist from toner lotion,
apply one drop of Squalane on your moist hands,
spread the Squalane on your palms and press them gently on your moist face.

This is also one of HABA’s best selling products.
Extracted from deep sea shark’s liver oil, this is the same oil
that is in our skin that created a protective film to retain hydration.

After using this set for weeks in the morning and evening, I feel that my skin is pampered and properly hydrated. I would definitely recommend this to ladies who are looking for natural skin care products, for hydrated and supple skin, especially in dry weather.

The prices of the featured products are as such:
– Micro Force Cleansing (Makeup Remover) 120ml, S$46
– White Lady (Whitening Serum) 30ml, $78
– VC Lotion 180ml, S$85
– Squalane (Beauty Oil), 15ml $29
I’ve been using these products for about 3 weeks now,
and I approximate that these will last for 3 months.

2014-02-25 00.28.36

5) Moist White Beauty Drink
A fresh, crisp beauty drink that contains Haskap (blueberry honeysuckle),
a fruit that is coveted for its powerful whitening and anti-aging properties.
It also includes collagen, ceramidea and L-Cystine
which helps to enhance skin clarity and firmness.
Each bottle contains 3,000mg of collagen and on 21 calories per bottle. 🙂

The taste is sweet, smooth and I love the blueberry flavour.
I only got to try 1 bottle, so I can’t attest to it’s longer term effect.
Also, as I am also in my early 20s I don’t (yet) have to worry about collagen loss.
Altho’ I’m quite sure when the time comes (another 5-10 years) I’ll start collagen intake regularly
as it’s been said that collagen drink works wonders for your skin! 😉
$49/box (of 10 bottles).

ION Esthe II Review

When I was in their store, I als got to try their Ion My Esthe II,
a home esthetic treatment device that cleanses and treats your skin with the power of ion.
It performs two basic function in two modes:
Ion Cleansing Mode and Ion Care Mode.

I tried their  Ion Care Mode as such:
Apply 8-10 pumps of White Lady Serum on face
Soak a face sheet with VC Lotion
Put the mask on face and slowly roll on Ion My Esthe II on my face
At approximately 8 minutes, a beeping sound will go off to indicate that the treatment is done.
Remove the mask and apply lotion Squalane on your face.
It is recommended to perform Ion Care Mode twice a week
and Ion Cleanse Mode once a week for maximum results.

I am quite amazed at how ION treatment works, in the sense that I am unsure how it works.:P
(Maybe my learned chemical engineering sister can tell me how?)
It’s also hard for me to say how effective it is as I’ve only tried it once.
However I can attest that it’s definitely safe, it uses our/my own body’s ION power to
charge this instrument. Cool huh?!
That’s one of the reason why I love being a blogger!
Getting acquainted and to be able to try new and cool
beauty products and treatments to share on my blog. ^^
Given the chance, I would definitely love to try using it for a longer period. 🙂

The Ion My Esthe II (Facial Instrument) costs $350.

HABA also has make up products, which I had the pleasure to try during my visit.
Their make up products are light and feels very natural
and also creates a very Japanese look, in my opinion.
If you’re a fan of natural/non-additive products, do give their make up range a try. 🙂

Human Nature Hair Care, Body Care & Make Up Review

Hi guys!

Are you an organic skincare and beauty lover? If so, today’s post will be super relevant for you!

If you’re not, fret not, cause it’s still good to know more about this affordable organic brand, Human Nature! 😉

Human Nature started out in Philippines in 2008 with the vision to be one of Philippines’ leading social enterprises, they have two goals, which is 1) Sustainable Living for the Poor and to be 2) Faithful Stewards of our Only Planet. Find out more about how they achieve these meaningful goals on their site here.

Recently Christine from Human Nature Singapore reached out to me through email to review their products, after a few email exchanges, a box of products was promptly sent over. I took a few weeks to test and review the products, and here it is! 🙂

Human Nature Natural Products Review

If you prefer to watch me sharing on video, hit play! 😉

Human Nature Natural Moisturizing Shampoo Conditioner Review

Human Nature Natural Moisturizing Shampoo (left) and Conditioner (right) in Mandarin Fresh.
Available here and here.
My shampoo was just about to run out and I was wondering what other brand I would try next,
so I was certainly glad to receive these two lovely products. I love the tangy zesty smell of the shampoo and how it cleanses gently and effectively. The conditioner has organic virgin coconut oil which is an age old secret for beautifully shiny, deeply moisturized hair, which I LOVE. After usage, my long hair is smooth and tangle free!

Human Nature 100% Natural Hand and Foot Salve

Human Nature 100% Natural Hand & Foot Salve in Strawberry.
Available here.
The difference between a salve and a lotion is that salve aids healing. Thus this salve soothes and softens dry and cracked skin. Luckily for me, my hands and legs are rather smooth, so I can’t exactly bear testament to its effectiveness for what it’s touted for. But what I can say, is that does leave a residual grease after application which will be less apparent after 10 min. I would recommend this, if you have cracked skin, between your toes or on the ball or heel of your feet. Apply it just before you sleep and I trust that your skin will be better.

Human Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipstick Review

Human Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipsticks; Lucky in Love (left) & First Kiss (right).

Human Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipstick First Kiss ReviewHuman Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipstick First Kiss Review 2

Human Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipstick in First Kiss
Available here.
I definitely love how pigmented the color is. True to its name, it’s hydrating and that must be because of it’s formulation with an extra dose of cocoa butter added to passion fruit seed oil and sunflower oil. The result is a natural and healthy looking lips. I wore it to work and I love how it does not dry up my lips, which some lipstick do. I have also previously used an organic lip balm with cocoa butter, so I know I love the ingredient in this as it’s good for my lips.

Human Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipstick Lucky in Love ReviewHuman Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipstick Lucky in Love Review 2

Human Nature Natural Hydrating Mineral Lipstick in Lucky in Love
Available here.
Lucky in Love is a deep red colour which has a slight gloss effect because of the hydrating effect of the lipstick. It would be ideal for a date night when you are looking to have plump or luscious red lips.

Human Nature Sunflower Cleansing Oil

Human Nature Sunflower Cleansing Oil
Available here.
This is a very effective cleansing oil, which is in my opinion ideal for heavier duty make up removal. If you’re like me and you tend to veer away from oil based cleansers, than this might not be ideal. It would be suitable for days when you’re attending a formal or glam event with full on mascara, eyeliner, foundation in layers… you get my drift. Or perhaps you’re a stage performer and you’re looking for something natural, gentle on your skin while effectively and quickly removing your thick makeup. This, my friends, would be it.;)

If you want to buy their products, be sure to key in ENA15 before check out to enjoy 15% off on ALL products!
This is valid till this Sunday, 9 March, so don’t wait! 😉

That is all for my Human Nature review! 🙂

Thanks for reading, love you.<3

Helenere Skincare Cream & Mask Review

Hi lovelies!

I’ve been using Helenere, Swiss skincare brand products for some time now and here’s a video review!

If you prefer to read, instead of watching my video review, here’s a quick summary:

Before I received the invitation to review their products,
I did a quick google search and found out from Cozycot forum  that
ladies wanted to know where they could buy Helenere products in Singapore.
So I was convinced that Helenere products must be really good and I was eager to try the products for myself!

Just in case you don’t know the brand, Helenere is a Swiss skincare brand started by Helen Rosato Rossi in 1980s.
Their products are all made in Switzerland and they have a strong emphasis on R&D.
Helenere has built a strong reputation of being a skincare brand that knows,
understands and addresses women’s skincare issues which is why it is gaining increasing popularity across the globe.

Helenere Whitening Cream Review 2

Helenere White Perfection Day & Night Cream
available online here.

2014-02-25 00.22.52

Cream is pure white and moderately thick in consistency. (No filter and no flash)2014-02-25 00.21.28

Once spread out evenly, it is leaves a very light white layer that is almost colorless to the naked eye.(No filter and no flash)

After using it for two weeks, I’m really loving this cream. I use it twice daily,
in the morning and in the evening, after my shower routine.
In the day, I use it after my toner and moisturizer, just before my sunscreen lotion.
In the evening, I use it after my toner and moisturizer.

After two weeks of use, I feel that my skin has lightened,
and this cream has helped to tone my oil glands so that my face is not as oily as before.
I have used other day/night creams previously but those were generally oily in nature
and I would stop using them after one try.

However this cream is moist without being oily, and
is really a suitable cream for people who have oily and acne prone skin like me!
Definitely recommended if you’re looking for a good day and night whitening/lightening cream in your beauty regime!

Helenere Purifying Pack

Helenere Purifying Pack
available online here.

2014-02-25 00.14.08

A very light mint green colour and thick consistency.

2014-02-25 00.14.35

A visible light pale layer when spread thinly across the skin.

I have used this pack/mask twice so far. As it is named, this mask aims to purify your skin.
To use, spread a thin layer around your face for 20 min and wash away with tepid/lukewarm water.
After which, I feel that my skin is softer and smoother. Recommended for use 1-2 times a week.
I would especially recommend this mask for people whose skin is exposed to harsher conditions such as strong sun
or dirt as this mask would definitely pamper your skin. 🙂

Get Pretty with Mary Kay Make-up Workshop

Just before Chinese New Year, at the invitation of Wendy,
my girlfriends and I visited Mary Kay’s office in Tanjong Pagar for a make up workshop!

Here’s some photos, my favourite products and review from the session! 😉

Enabalista with YL Mary Kay

With YL pre workshop session!
My skin was honestly in bad condition that day, after a breakout.

Before the makeup demonstration and workshop, we indulged in a little skin care pampering session.

Enabalista Mary Kay Workshop Review

Here, YL, Belle and I had half our face slathered with Mary Kay’s Botanical Mask.
So we could tell the effect comparing to our non-masked half!
Don’t we look like we have dramatic masks on? 😀

Mary Kay TimeWise Replenishing Serum and Botanical Mask
These are my favourite Mary Kay products from the workshop. 🙂
The serum preps the skin before the mask and after the mask application, the skin is fresher and clearer.

After prepping the skin and cleaning off the mask, it’s time for makeup demonstration!

Post make up workshop photos!:D

Close up and unfiltered photos, post make up!

With Mary Kay concealer, primer, foundation, loose powder, eyebrow pencil, blusher and
eyeshadow in pink, orange and gold to suit the auspicious chinese new year occasion!
Mary Kay lipstick colours are also very lovely and pigmented.
On my lips are a mix of  TrueDimension lipstick in Color Me Coral and Wild About Pink.
I really really like this look on my girlfriends and I!

Enabalista Mary Kay Mission Statement

My girlfriends and I enjoyed the session and we agreed that the session was made more enjoyable because we
had each other’s company while we pampered ourselves with skincare and picked up make up techniques.
I actually think this is an excellent idea for a girls’ gathering! Plus, Juliana is a great make up coach and
she made us feel very relaxed and at ease with her bright smile and cheerful personality. 🙂

Mary Kay is a unique skincare and beauty brand in the sense that it doesn’t have a brick and mortar shop,
instead their products are sold by women, started  by Mary Kay Ash in America and is now in Asia.
Mary Kay Beauty Consultants start by going through the workshop and training themselves
before
they are certified trainers and enlist other women into their own teams
that sell and train other women in skincare and make up.
Pretty much like real estate or insurance agents but in the world and field of beauty!
I love the concept of women empowering other women and making their passion a living.

My girlfriends and I are planning to head back for workshop two where we pick up how to create “Smokey eye effect”.
If you would like to arrange for a Mary Kay workshop session for you and your girlfriends,
email Wendy, wenyip516 @ gmail.com (without the gaps)!
I’m also thinking of arranging for a session for my blog readers to attend Mary Kay’s workshop,
so keep a look out for that! 😉

Ultraflesh Shinebox Review

Hi lovelies!

Thanks to StrawberryNET.com, today I’m reviewing a beauty/makeup product,
Ultraflesh Shinebox, Highlight & Shimmer Collection!

20140210-121220.jpg

As you can see from above, the UltraFlesh Shinebox has three tiers, the top being an enhancer aka shimmer powder that can be used to highlight your forehead, cheeks and nose bridge, which is exactly what I did for today’s make up.

The second tier is the shimmer cream which can be used to apply below your eyebrows to highlight and create eyes with depth.

The third tier is my favourite and new find, shimmer eye liners in white and nude colours. I have used eyeliner in white on my lower eyes waterline to create a bigger and doll-like eyes effect. However it is my first time using the nude shimmer eyeliner and I love it! It blends perfectly with my skin colour, creating a healthy bright eye look. 😀

My full make up look, enhanced with UltraFlesh’s Shinebox!
I love how my nosebridge is higher and my eyes are brighter. 🙂

I’m glad StrawberryNET.com introduced me to UltraFlesh makeup.
The brand’s packaging reminds me of cult brand UrbanDecay,
perhaps it’s only a matter of time before this cool brand achieves recognition in Singapore and the rest of Asia.
You can also get your UltraFlesh Shinebox here at S$41.50.

StrawberryNET.com is an online retailer of discounted makeup, perfume, skincare and hair care,
stocking over 30,000 products from 600+ leading brands – up to 65% OFF.
They also offer FREE shipping on all orders, I’m sure you will find appealing, as I do!

NEW ZA Rich-Glam Liquid Rouge Bloggers’ Event & Review

Hi guys! 😀

A while ago I attended ZA’s Rich-Glam Liquid Rouge Bloggers’ Event
and here’s snippets of how it went! 😉

ZA Rich-Glam Liquid Rouge Enabalista 2 ZA Rich-Glam Liquid Rouge Enabalista 3 ZA Rich-Glam Liquid Rouge Enabalista 4 ZA Rich-Glam Liquid Rouge Enabalista 5 ZA Rich-Glam Liquid Rouge Enabalista 6 ZA Rich-Glam Liquid Rouge Enabalista 7 ZA Rich-Glam Liquid Rouge Enabalista 8 ZA Rich-Glam Liquid Rouge Enabalista 9 ZA Rich-Glam Liquid Rouge Enabalista 10 ZA Rich-Glam Liquid Rouge Enabalista

The entire hall was decked out in varying hues of pink with black accents,
with lots of “Fun Facts” about lips
and booth activities/games for us bloggers to take part in, including match the cards and
“My Lip Personality”!

Speaking of which, my reading is as such:

“Bow-shape lips”
Personality
You are an expressive, seductive person who likes to fly with her own wings.
You pursue the things you love fearlessly and speak your mind..

Love Life
You need someone who stimulates you both mentally and physically.

About 80% true. 😉

My Review of the NEW ZA Rich-Glam Liquid Rouge

I personally find the new liquid rouge a very unique blend of lipgloss and lipstick.
Imagine your favourite lipstick, now in liquid consistency.
It is unexpectedly non sticky, unlike how some lip gloss is and it has pretty decent staying power,
up to half a day, like the regular lipsticks.
It’s formulation is inspired by ladies who desire the shine of lip gloss with the pigmentation of lipsticks! 😉

At $18.90 a pop, in stores from 30 Jan 2014.
ZA can be bought at most Watsons stores island wide in Singapore. 😉
