Korean Celebrities Love FrancisKay Jewelry

Hi Loves~

As you should know by now, I’m a major Korean Drama fan and I’m almost always following at least 1 Korean drama serial a week and that sort of just very naturally developed my love for Korean fashion and Korean makeup, which is evident allll over my blog. So I discovered a gem of a website by FrancisKay that is a beloved costume jewlery brand worn and loved by many Korean celebrities and I just have to share it with you all!

Check out the  FrancisKay jewelry I’ve got!:2014-12-17 11.20.15-1

New Yorker chic simple Ring set of 3, US$27.56. Buy here.

Classic Emilia Pearl Set of 3, US $43.88. Buy here. 2014-12-17 11.16.59-1

Each set is beautifully packaged, comes in a chic & simple plastic zip bag and bubble wrapped. My 3 sets took about 1 week to reach me in a box in perfect condition.

Took a few pictures with my New Yorker rings + Dior-inspired New York studded earrings with Pearl back. I really love the design and the quality of the FrancisKay jewelry, you really get what you pay for~! 🙂 It isn’t flimsy metal but great quality that’s sturdy and can be worn repeatedly so I foresee myself wearing it for years or until I am bored of the design, lol~2014-12-21 02.47.17 2014-12-17 00.50.54-1 2014-12-17 00.51.43-1

That’s not all!

Check out the Korean celebrities that are wearing FrancisKay!! I have picked a few of my favourites:

Korean Celebrities Love Francis Kay 005

I can’t be sure if Han Ye Seul is wearing a pair of Dior or FrancisKay in Birth of Beauty (which btw is TOTALLY awesome show everyone must watch!) but it definitely looks like either the New Yorker earring duo in the pearl back or New Yorker Volume to Pearl Earring! The latter which is also worn by another of my favourite Korean actress Jang Na Ra (Fated to Love You):Korean Celebrities Love Francis Kay 002

Korean Celebrities Love Francis Kay 004Shin Seong Rok is seen in Trot Lover wearing FrancisKay For You Special Silver bangle that comes with free engraving. Spicy Hot Curry at Marina South Curry House

Hi Loves!

A while back I visited Marina South Curry House for a food tasting session and their red curry chicken and salted egg chicken wing is really the bomb! I also really enjoyed their fish head bee hoon because it was flavourful even though no milk or msg was used – it’s made from Chef Gan’s unique soup stock combination. I shall post up the photos explain with captions. Details for the shop found below. Enjoy this post! P.S. Get ready to be hungry!
Marina South Curry

Marina South Curry House gets its name from the original location where they use to be at Marina South, a place popular for dating for those born in the 70’s and very well known for serving up a mean curry that’s super hot and spicy. Marina South Curry House Blog Review 009

You’ll find TV screens playing segments and photos on display of their food and famous guests, I spot DJ Yasminne and local celebrities.Marina South Curry House Blog Review 012 Marina South Curry House Blog Review 011

Marina South Curry House Blog Review 014

Chef Gan is the head chef of Marina South Curry House who hails from Ipoh and he specializes in Singaporean and Malaysian dishes and he crafts them with passion and culinary dedication!

Now we proceed to the main point of the post, their food!

Marina South Curry House Blog Review 002

Red Curry Chicken – this is so delicious! I usually don’t eat a full bowl of rice, but I found myself eating mouth after mouth with this yummy red curry!$6.90 for one person serving. Highly recommended~~~ Marina South Curry House Blog Review 001

To soothe the tongue and throat from the red curry, enjoy a refreshing buah long long drink at $3.90. Its slightly sour flavour that freshens you up and complements curry dishes very well.

Marina South Curry House Blog Review 004

Another of my top favourite dish, their Salted Egg Chicken Wing, $12.90 which is salty and crispy and oh-so-delicious! I only wished I had this plate all to myself. 😛Marina South Curry House Blog Review 006

Another of their speciality dish as I mentioned above, their Signature Claypot Fish Head Bee Hoon which has no milk yet the texture is still rich and relatively thick. It’s simmered for over 6 hours, the superior broth is flavourful due to Chef;s unique soup stock combination – I really love it. Enjoy it with 2-3persons for $18.90 or single portion at $7.90.
Marina South Curry House Blog Review 003

One of their signature vegetable dish is Luo Han Chye which has tofu, taupok, mushoom and small bok choy giving plenty of choice and flavour in this dish.
Marina South Curry House Blog Review 005

Or if you prefer your veggies with some kick, consider this long bean and eggplant with curry.
Marina South Curry House Blog Review 007

For desserts, end off with this delightful and authentic Chendol that’s sure to bring a smile to your face, as it did to mine! See:

Spread the love this festive season with Singtel

Hi Loves!

What does Christmas mean to you?

To me, Christmas is a time for us to remember Christ’s birth and also a welcomed time to reunite with family and friends for delicious, hearty meals & fun times.

Christmas means different things to different people.

Growing up as fortunate young children, Christmas means getting gifts from our parents and relatives. As we grow older, it also means reunions and gifts exchange. For those of you who’ve entered into parenthood – it may mean playing the role of Santa and gifting to your child/children.

However not all of us are so fortunate to be able to give more to our family for the festive season. And for those of us who can, why not share the love and blessings?

With SingTel’s thoughtful and heart-warming Little Helpers initiative, this Christmas you can visit http://singtel.com/Christmas to choose from 3 tabs to explore daily “deals”, participate in “on the street” activities and “lend a hand” with the Willing Hearts and Lion Befrienders to bring some cheer to the less fortunate in our community.

I highly recommend you to visit the site, share the deals with your family & take part in the community activities with your friends!

Enjoy this festive video clip by SingTel, I especially love the little boy that answered “Binoculars” when asked what Christmas means to him and then his sister giving him this “what are you saying?!” look and squeeze. Too cute!

Thank you SingTel for letting me join your team to spread the word about this meaningful Christmas initiative! 🙂

Sweet Pamper Session at Plaza Sing with le blanc by mashu & Nana’s Green Tea

Hi Loves!

Do you fancy a pamper session with your BFF after your Christmas shopping frenzy?
My BFF Fion & I was at Plaza Singapura just the other day and we went to le blanc by mashu salon for a relaxing Soda Spa Scalp Treatment followed by lunch at Nana’s Green Tea. We had so much fun and the day flew by!

le blanc by mashu salon opened back in September and is headed by Japanese Creative Director Masaaki Ueda.  We really enjoyed the Soda Spa Scalp treatment which is a “treatment that uses carbonated water and also Soda Spa Foam to flush carbon dioxide through the scalp and skin, carrying away waste in the body. This encourages blood circulation, which in turn enhances metabolism and increases oxygen and nutrient supply to the scalp and skin, keeping them soft, velvety and healthy.” The entire session was very relaxing, especially whilst in the reclining chair during the hair spa~ and my hair was silky smooth for the next 3 days and it felt so good!

At Nana’s Green Tea, we had a sumptous lunch and I was super happy with my Locomoco Hamburg set and the Green Parfait with the Green Tea ice cream is divine!

Scroll down & enjoy as I share about our Pamper Day~ ^^

Get Glamourous with Elizabeth Arden’s Untold Absolu

Hi Loves!

Today I’d like to share with you about Elizabeth Arden’s Untold Absolu, which is a fitting fragrance for this festive season.

image

A year after the launch of Untold original, Untold Absolu continues the Untold sensory journey by celebrating the intrigue of the modern woman, with a deeper and sexier scent.

The Untold Absolu is similar in packaging to the original fragrance with a curvy and multi faceted bottle which is evocative of the multi dimensional personality of women today except it comes in a golden band instead of silver, which is complementary to the fragrance’s darker golden hue.

The scent is designed to be:-
Glamorous: Burst of Black Raspberry & Italian Bergamot
Captivating: Fruity accents of Red Plum and bright Ginger
Refined: floral strokes of Jasmine Egypt Absolute and French Narcissus Absolute
Mysterious: Sultry textures of Tahitian Vanilla Bourbon Absolute and deep Benzoin
and Sensual: cashmere woods and rich Brazilian Tonka Absolute

This is a scent that’s perfect for a gala dinner with a beautiful golden dress or black gown!

Thank you Elizabeth Arden Singapore for the scent.

Crabtree & Evelyn Damask Rose Everyday Skincare Collection Preview

Hi Loves!

A while back I attended the media preview for Crabtree & Evelyn Singapore’s Damask Rose Everyday Skincare Collection at their flagship store at Ngee Ann City. It was my first time attending their media launch in store and I found myself to be in for a real sweet treat with their Damask Rose skincare collection welcoming me at the entrance, fresh roses on the left and rose inspired cakes and more on the right. I don’t know about you, but I am a major flower lover and I have a soft spot for roses, peonies and rancanculus – flowers that have layers upon layers of petals. So. Much. Love.

The Damask Rose Everyday Skincare Collection is formulated with natural ingredients chosen for their ability to deeply moisturize and rejuvenate even dry and sensitive skin. The 3 key ingredients are French Damask Rose, Rose of Jericho & Hollyhock. Essentially these ingredients are known to be intensely moisturizing, brings immediate and long lasting hydration and anti-inflammatory properties.

The collection features 10 products; 3 cleansers, 2 toners, 3 moisturiser & 2 masks. I picked Cleanser: Freshening Cleansing Lotion (100ml), Toner: Relaxing Micellar Water (150ml) & Moisturizer: Hydrating Day Lotion (50ml). The cleanser has to be shaken to blend the oils and actives before usage. I love how it cleanses and leaves my skin feeling refreshed. However I was initially confused and used this as the toner (yes I didn’t read the description properly, just assumed “lotion” as toner) so I was confused why it was slightly oily. However after getting the confusion out of the way, this is a great lightweight cleanser that can be used out of the shower. I love the Relaxing Micellar Water (toner). I’ve been using it regularly now – replacing my Kose toner which has just run out – it doubles as a cleanser too, removing any residual impurities and tones the skin. The hydrating day lotion is white in colour and moderate in consistency. It’s supposedly a lightweight moisturizer however I find that it is still slightly heavy for Singapore’s humid weather. For best results, apply it into the face and wait for the it to dry, about 1 min before applying on make up. After the moisturizer sets into the skin, the skin is left soft and supple. But this is a moisturizer only for those with patience, I tend to hurry my skincare and makeup routine on mornings when I am in a rush so I prefer waterbased/gel moisturizers that sinks into the skin real quick. One thing for sure, the entire skincare range has a lovely rose scent that’s sure to be a bonus for floral lovers out there – just like me!

I recommend you to visit & test Crabtree & Evelyn Damask Rose everyday skincare collection in stores and approach their knowledgeable staff to assist you in making the right picks for your skin and preference!

Clozette Ambassadors Tea Party @ Mu Parlour

Hi Loves!

A while back Clozette hosted a tea party for Clozette ambassadors and it was a good time meeting and catching up with fellow Clozette ambassadors. If you haven’t read my previous posts about Clozette, just know that I will visit the site almost daily to see a consolidated updates by fellow fashion and beauty enthusiasts – I am currently following about 100 fashion and beauty influencers, mostly Clozette Ambassadors and Star Clozetters in Singapore and Asia who have fabulous updates. The tea party was a blast and time flies when you’re having fun. We had a delicious array of finger food and tea in a cafe decked out in cute Alice in Wonderland theme and lots of cute pink balloons! We made pink ribbons to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness for the month of October and we also filmed a video to share our love for Clozette. After the event, Vinna, Fenny & I took time to take ootd shots at places nearby. Saturdays should be like this!

Estee Lauder Modern Muse Fragrance Review

Hi Loves!

As I gather my thoughts and prepare for this fragrance review post, I feel so at peace with my environment and myself. It’s incredible to think that we’re a good 5 days (as I am typing, but will be 6 when this is published) into the last month of the year 2014. I think that year 2014 has been a tough year globally with many unfortunate flight disasters and the onset of a major virus epidemic in Africa, not forgetting the financial softening in many parts of the world and in Singapore. To say that this year has been tough for me would be an understatement. It’s probably not the toughest year for me per se, emotionally speaking. But career wise and financially, it’s not the kind of financial climate that a rather fresh graduate wishes for her coming 2nd work year, much less to say as a property agent. I will probably dedicate a separate post for my yearly reflections for my personal, work and blog life. What I wish to say for now is that I’m grateful, grateful that I am able to keep my passion and blogging hobby alive thus far. Even after 4 years, my blog is still driven by passion; even though I have months worth of blogging back log, I’ve never dreaded blogging and I always look forward to taking time to reflect, review and update this little blog space of mine. And I think that that’s how I have differentiated myself, that I always take time to craft and compile a post with my thoughts, research and images – and I take a great deal of pride in that. I don’t deny that I am a huge procrastinator and that is something I am still working on. However for me, good posts take time and I don’t think that I’ll ever settle for a post that falls short of anything but that. 🙂

With the long introduction aside, today I’d like to present to you the Estee Lauder Modern Muse fragrance. I’m just gonna be super direct and put it out there – I am in love with this fragrance. It’s my current top favourite fragrance that I find myself  drawn towards each morning before I head to work. Described as a Lush Floral Woody scent, it’s a sublime and sophisticated combination of Sparkling Jasmine and Sleek Wood Accords. A well balanced and layered fragrance, it’s the go-to scent for a confident, independent and inspirational woman of today. This scent reminds me again of why Estee Lauder is such a remarkable global beauty brand to be reckoned with today – their every product is a distillation of months, perhaps year long research and development that’s catered to a woman’s lifestyle and need. Estee Lauder just gets it. And this fragrance is one such example as it’s feminine yet confident. I feel that as women of the world today, we can embrace our femininity and at the same time we can be confident and empowered to achieve greater things that perhaps our female seniors have not been able to previously. We have been given much, and with it, we can do so much more.

Sparkling Jasmine Accord: This facet of the fragrance captures the creative energy and magnetic femininity of a modern woman. Exotic Mandarin and tempting Honeysuckle Nectar send a spark of energy through a youthful sensation of Dewy Petals. Two extractions of Jasmine Sambac, including one new to the perfumery palette, Jasmine Sambac China Absolute, bring luminous texture to the feminine bouquet of rich Tuberose Fleur and Fresh Lily.

Sleek Wood Accord: Her sleek style, strength and sensuality are expressed through this innovative blend of two Patchouli essences wrapped in the creaminess of Madagascar Vanilla, rich Amber Wood and soft Musk – all of which craft an undeniably sensual finish.

Crabtree & Evelyn Nail Lacquers & Handy Tips

Hi Loves!

This is my 5th post in 3 days. I’m on a roll, ain’t I?  😛 I’m really behind on a lot of my beauty & event reviews, not including my own personal food reviews and lifestyle posts… hopefully I can make it in good time to complete my postings for this year within this last month of December! At this rate that I’m posting I think its possible, heh! 😀

A while back I received this really really pretty parcel from Crabtree & Evelyn. It definitely rank tops in terms of the cutest packaging delivered to my house this year! It’s a bag in the form of a tree full of Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Therapy creams, with a hand cream in Carribbean Island Wild Flowers which I’ve previously reviewed and love, their new and very own nail lacquer in red and super clever nail polish remover wipes! I’ve tried the C&E nail lacquer and it’s so good. It lasts remarkably well, longer than a week for my very active fingernails (typing, paper work, and general carelessness) and it removes SO CLEANLY! #Madlove. I don’t know about you, but removal of nail polish lacquer can be such a pain for me. But this one removed so cleanly and efficiently and it’s not because I changed nail polish remover but because the formulation of the nail lacquer is very good.

And the person that thought of nail polish remover wipes, is a genius! I don’t know why there isn’t such a thing that came earlier in the market? Or maybe it’s just me being ignorant, but it’s my first time seeing such a product and I LOVE IT. I only needed 1 sheet to remove all 10 fingernail polishes and there are 8 individually wrapped sheets. That’s 8 sheets of wonderful convenience guys, you know how you’re running late in the morning and need to rush out but you need to clean up your nails because the paint is all cracked and half gone? These wipes are so handy and slim, no need to lug a bottle of  nail polish remover and nth number of cotton wipes!

Hi Loves!

Renaza Wellness turned 8 back in August and celebrated their 8th Anniversary with a bang at their Palais Renaissance outlet. Thanks to Clozette, I had the chance to indulge in a manicure session, a gua sha session followed by tasty refreshments and the most remarkable rose inspired cocktails. It’s frankly the best cocktails I remember having at a beauty event, so fitting to the theme, sweet and refreshing as well! Now you know if you’re out and about around this part of town and need a manicure session or facial, you can visit them!

DKNY MY NY Fragrance Launch & Review

Hi Loves!

A while back I attended the launch of DKNY MY NY fragrance line at 1Altimate at One Raffles Place. DKNY MY fragrance is an energetic and sensual scent with Raspberries and Pink Pepper top notes, Egyptian Jasmine at the heart and ends off  with musk and as it’s named, it celebrates the the vibrant women in New York. I am a fan of floral and fruity frangrance, so DKNY MY NY is right up my alley, plus the fragrance bottle is reminiscent of urban cityscape and it’s so stylish. I love to wear this out at night with friends. The fragrance campaign is headlined by Rita Ora, UK born singer songwriter but raised and madly in love with the New York life. I have never been to US, and as it is, I too am enamoured with the Big Apple city, due to scenes from the Gossip Girl and Suits dramas that I’ve watched/been watching. I would love to be able to live in and experience the city as a local someday. If you’d like, visit the DKNY MY NY Microsite and create your very own personalized collage of your NY. Enjoy the video campaign & photos of the launch & fragrance! 😉

Make Up Store Autumn 2014 Collection Preview @ Gilman Barracks

Hi Loves!

Sometime back I was invited down to Make Up Store’s Autumn’s 2014 collection preview and along with media and VIP guests we got to see 3 beautiful and very artistic looks from the autumn collections, namely Art, Scream & Paint. You’ll see why they are named that way in the photos! I really loved how the entire preview was presented. It was hosted at an art gallery at Gillman Barracks, amidst beautiful art pieces and decorated canvases according to the 3 themes and looks. Then the host presented the models and a make up artist explained the inspiration, make up & colours behind each look. There was also a host of “live canvases” models for us to test the make up on, but I think all of us were too shy to actually “paint” on their faces! 😛 So we mostly just helped ourselves to the make up bars held up by the lovely ladies and swatched the make up and I was very, very intrigued by the double coloured lipsticks and very very lovely marbled blushers, creamy and pigmented lipsticks and lip liners. You’ll see!

My picks from the collection, the prettiest marbled blusher Roso Verona, Lipsticks in Duo Graphic & Duo Claude, Lip liner in Dali Matt & Lip stick pen in Boysenberry. How cute that the make up are named after artists? Totally love the entire concept! I have to admit that I can’t bear to use the blusher and lipsticks…. >.< They are soo pretty that I don’t bear to ruin them. T_T”‘

Here’s a look that I wore out that day!

Using Dali Lipliner and Boysenberry Lipstick Pen… super love the colour! Very long lasting too. However the only think i wish for is that the Lipstick Pen to come in a dispensable plastic holder instead of a wooden pencil…

Pan Pacific’s The Edge 4 Hour Sunday Champagne Brunch Review

Hi Loves!

A few months back, I completed a survey for Expat Living magazine and was kindly gifted a pair of tickets for Pan Pac’s The Edge’s Sunday Champagne brunch. So I invited my sister to come a long with me and it was such an unforgettable meal! We had so much fun indulging in wagyu beef, salmon sashimi, pork sausages, iberco ham and of course an unlimited amount of Veuve Cliquot champagne.  Guests can also order a limited offering of red wine and shiraz as part of the buffet. My personal favourites would be the wagyu beef and fine du claire fresh raw oysters. The buffet spread is very comprehensive to say the least and I would highly recommend this place for fine dining and champagne lovers.  Tickets are at $168++ per pax. There’s a package where 2 guests get a bed, brunch & bliss staycation with a late check out on Sunday at 5pm for $525 for 2. Perfect for a special occasion! For more details and booking you can visit Pan Pac site here.

I would love to go for another free flow champagne brunch again, let me know if you have a place to recommend!

Hot Tomato & Nana’s Green Tea Review

Hi Loves!

I’ve just got back from my BKK trip with my sisters this afternoon, it’s been a great trip and I can’t wait to share about the trip on my blog. 🙂 I’ve got an embarrasingly long list of blogging back log and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I can complete it before the year ends, hahaha! 😛

Quite a while back, the Kose cinderella contest finalists/girls and I met up for dinner at Somerset. At Gina’s suggestion, we had dinner at Hot Tomato at 313 basement and it was my first time at Hot Tomato cafe. I was quite pleasantly surprised with the taste and portion at an affordable price about $12 if my memory is right, as I’ve not heard of any reviews of Hot Tomato and didn’t quite know what to expect. I really enjoyed the mango flavored salmon pasta and would most definitely order it again when I am back. We then headed to Nana’s Green Tea cafe at Orchard Central for desserts and the green tea matcha soft serve did not disappoint and the recommended Green Tea tiramisu was also very soft and delicious. As usual, our meet up was full of jokes & laughter, love spending time with the Kose girlies. 😛

All in all it was a great dinner and meet up. Have you any good dinner and desserts recommendation? Let me know! Wishing you all a great week!

Fun & Food-filling Weekend Trip to Malacca

Hi Loves!

A few months back, my secondary school mates and I headed to Muar & Malacca for a weekend road trip and here’s a post of the food places and fun destinations that we’ve been! I personally highly recommend Malacca as a road trip destination with friends because it’s relatively near Singapore, inexpensive, has great food and overall just a perfect & fun weekend getaway destination! 😉 Following this trip, I made another similar trip with my colleagues… Which I suppose I’ll get around to blogging about it in due time. 😛 As you should probably know by now, I take forever and a day to get my blog posts up… I’ve got tons of content and I need to get them up, but man, it’s hard to find time and the mojo to blog with work and activities during the weekend (and I also need time to chill too!). Anyhoos, it’s gonna be a super long blog post with 100+ photos and captions, grab your popcorn and enjoy the read! 🙂

We’re not in Malaysia yet, here’s my clams noodles from Asian Kitchen at Bugis+ where we met up for dinner! I personally think this was super yums, maybe because I’m a huge fan of clams – especially in soup! <3

We walked past SeoulYummy at Bugis+, which I actually happened to pop by for dinner just recently, and they have all these funny & cute heart papers attached to “love locks” where couples/friends/narcissists can leave love notes to one another/themselves. 😛

And off we go! ^^

These are fruits harvested to be threshed to extract the seeds! Not very sure what these are though. Heh.

Our super delicious lunch at Asam Pedas Parit Jawa. I thought it was traditional Malaysian food, but after posting it on Instagram, my Indonesian friends commented that these are traditional Indonesian food. So I don’t really know which it is, anyhoo it was super yummy ok! Malacca Trip Blog Review and Recommendations 013

Snaps of our view while on the road: traditional shophouses, lots of Palm plantations & telephone lines criss-crossing in the skies.

Oh look, Ma! Yunno, just a tractor refuelling at the petrol station! 😛

Then we headed to AK Extreme Go Kart & Paintball Arena at Plaza Hang Tuah (Plaza Ocean), Jalan Tun Mahmat, 75300 Melaka, Melaka for Go Kart! We didn’t know they had Paintball as well, but as we didn’t prepare change of clothes, we couldn’t play that. Now that you know, prepare change of clothes for some paintball fun while you’re there! 🙂

For Go Kart we paid RM30/~SGD12 for 10min. It might seem a short period, but it was about 13 laps and doesn’t seem that short a time! Unfortunately the one car I was on kept on stalling, but all my friends didn’t have issues with theirs. Overall, I’d still recommend this place.

Lotsa decked out Tricycles for tourists. Malacca Trip Blog Review and Recommendations 054

At the A Famosa Fortress, which I honestly didn’t read up about before I went, and I’ve been there twice. 😛 In summary, in 1511 the Portuguese arrived, attacked and defeated the armies of the Malacca Sultanate. Then they built this fortress and it changed hands twice thereafter, first to the Dutch, then the British and perhaps an interesting link to Singapore would be found in this line: “The fort was almost totally demolished but for the timely intervention of Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of modern Singapore, who happened to visit Malacca in 1810. Because of his passion for history, this small gate was spared from destruction.”

Who knew that because of Sir Stamford Raffles’ decision, this fortress would attract to many tourists to Malacca today? 🙂

Then we decided to climb up and across the hill to head to Jonker Street…

Just random street side flowers, but so pretty!

I must have mentioned Jonker Street like 2-3 times already, and it is really the highlight of Malacca, in my opinion. It’s best to coincide your visit on a weekend (Fri-Sun & Public Holiday) night, so you get to see the night market starting at 7pm! I’ve actually been there on weekday afternoons but the best experience is definitely one with the night market!!

The entire street starts with San Shu Gong, a famous traditional food snacks shop and basically we started off eating from the Satay Lok Lok food truck parked at the start and eating, and eating, and eating (yes you get my idea) all the way to the end before walking right back. #SingaporeansConfirmPlusChopCanEatMalacca Trip Blog Review and Recommendations 065 Malacca Trip Blog Review and Recommendations 066 Malacca Trip Blog Review and Recommendations 104

I have been to Jonker Street thrice, and I have always bought this refreshing Honey Lime Juice drink from San Shu Gong (the red building in the background in the photo). I recommend this drink if you like something refreshing, or basically love the awesome combination of Honey & Lime like I do!!! <3

GPS: 1.490861,103.767779
Hours: Daily 8:00am to 5:00pm

For the record, we were there at 3pm so it was a late lunch and the lunch crowd was dying and the service took really long. 🙁 So it wasn’t a very pleasant experience but the food was undoubtedly good and I will go back again but I think best to be in the morning or during lunch timing. I’m not sure if the service is always that slow (have to wait quite long for them to refill the soup) or it’s because it was quite late so the stock was running low, but hopefully at earlier timings you get better service.

Mane Changing Experience at Revamped Chez Vous Salon

Hi Loves !

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you’ll know that I recently had a mane changing experience; I now have shorter shoulder long hair with a red dye at the ends and beneath my hair surface.

Today I’m sharing about my experience at this marvelous salon that is the newly revamped Chez Vous hair salon!

IMG_9063.JPG
A little history and background about Chez Vous Hair Salon before we begin. Founded by Thomas Teo & Riz Tan, they first started out at Bugis before becoming today’s 30 seat luxury salon at Ngee Ann City. Chez Vous Salon’s been around for 19 years and they’re also the only salon in Singapore with an “OHDA” policy with stands for “Only Hair Directors Allowed”. So you can rest assure that your mane is in good hands when you’re there! In fact a lot of Chez Vous’ clienteles are C-level executives, man and women who hold high level positions at work and need to maintain a professional image without any hassle.

So, Chez Vous Hair Salon’s just undergone a revamp and other than bringing in a redefined thematic layout and designer interior, part of the reason for this revamp stems from the founders & partners desire to re-inject the joy of a hair salon experience. They realized that customers are increasingly grumpy and stressed whenever they come for their hair cut and treatments, sometimes even whipping out their laptops and busy at work even while at the salon. So with this revamp, Chez Vous salon hopes that their customers can come to find joy at the salon; be pampered, feel soothed and relaxed with the services and facilities in place!

IMG_9058.JPG

At the entrance of the salon, a wall of colourful hands welcome customers and is also symbolic of all the staff that has built Chez Vous to what it is today. Such a beautiful concept!

IMG_9059.JPG
At the HYDRA BAR, customers can fill up with Laduree chocolates, sweets & tea, should they be required to wait when they arrive at the appointment time.

IMG_9062.JPG
The WOW private room is decked in rainbow lights and is prepared for the most discerning of clients, it’s also fitted with hair scalp diagnosis equipment and a fully fitted room for all hair treatments.

IMG_9065.JPG
There are 3 COCOON domes located the the center of the salon for customers who prefer a little more privacy for their treatments and makeovers.

IMG_9070.JPG
At the back of the salon is the SPLASH room with coloured soft fabrics decking the ceiling, each Colour representing a value that the salon believes; White for Peace, Orange for Energetic, Red for Passion and Purple for Joy. 🙂

IMG_9066.JPG
Another remarkable key design piece in the salon is this handsome wood panelled face sculpture that transforms according to the viewers’ perspective. This is evocative of Chez Vous’ experimental and innovative ways, constantly transforming and improving their skills and treatments in the hair industry that makes them one of the leading salon in Singapore.

IMG_9097.JPG
As a show of support to the local fashion design scene, Chez Vous will also feature fashion designs from local personalities in store. At the time of my visit, they were showcasing Depression’s FW2014 designs. Coincidentally, on that very Sunday evening, I was attending Depression’s SS2015 runway at Digital Fashion Week! So I was very pleasantly surprised to find their pieces in the salon.

IMG_9073.JPG
After a tour of the salon, I was ushered to my seat and reviewed the two books. The first serves as a guide to all the services available at the salon.

IMG_9074.JPG

IMG_9076.JPG
Complimentary services include wifi, Samsung tablet for games, web surfing, movies, free mobile phone charging service, pillow & newspapers.

IMG_9077.JPG
A generous array of teas & coffees for selection. I had a latte!

IMG_9078.JPG

IMG_9082.JPG
You’ll find a tablet at each pod, so that each customer can be kept entertained throughout the session!

IMG_9079.JPG

IMG_9080.JPG
After a hair wash, hair director Jamie proceeded to chop off a substantial portion of my hair. What do you think?

IMG_9071.JPG

IMG_9081.JPG
A look at the Experligent Service guide book shows the types of services and treatments you can choose from, or you can simply discuss with the hair directors and they can recommend you what’s best and tailor make a treatment for you.

IMG_9084.JPG
Next I had my hair coloured, by Slicer, whose name is inspired by “潇洒”,which roughly translates to Cool in English. He is pretty cool, isn’t he?

IMG_9088.JPG

IMG_9089.JPG

IMG_9087.JPG
Then I had a hair treatment session, as per Jamie’s recommendation for my slightly dry hair.

IMG_9091.JPG

IMG_9090.JPG
The final result of my new hair colour & cut, under the expert hands of Jamie & Slicer! ^_^

IMG_9092.JPG
Thanks to Eugene, Chez Vous’ brand director for giving me such a detailed tour and background of the salon and for also providing me recommendations with addresses for my upcoming trip to BKK! So thoughtful and considerate!!!

IMG_9086.JPG

IMG_9085.JPG
The list of recommended places to visit while at BKK.

IMG_9094.JPG

IMG_9093.JPG

So happy with my new hair cut & colour. ^^

IMG_9098.JPG

The Redken shampoo & conditioner that I brought home to lock in the colours for my hair. The brown and red colours were indeed very much locked in and I didn’t have much colour fade out during the initial washes! There’s also a tub of hair masque that I didn’t capture, but it’s this really awesome hair salon grade masque given by Chez Vous that makes my hair really soft. ^^

IMG_9096-0.JPG
Eugene was showing me their Amplified Hair Rebonding solution used to break the hair bonds, in PH6, unlike the usual PH9. Paper remains yellow for the PH6 solution versus paper turning green for the PH9 solution. Undoubtedly the PH9 solution is stronger but also more damaging. With this PH6, and the Amplified Hair Rebonding treatment, customers can rebond their hair up to every quarter of the year and get smoother hair yet without compromising on the health of the hair!!! I hope to be able to try this treatment the next time! ^^

Chez Vous will be introducing a Expertligent Fix You Programme! If your hair is damaged either by cut, colour or any other hair chemical services within 5 days in any other salons in Singapore, regardless if you are one of Chez Vous’s guest, Chez Vous will attempt to fix it for free. Only available for 1 customer a day from Sunday to Thursday only & you’ll have to call in to fix an appointment.

Another initiative is “Mix, Mingle & Makeover” where customers can book the salon in advance with their family or colleagues and have a makeover party with macarons, food & drinks together. I can imagine this would be a a totally cool pre wedding bride & bridesmaids party idea!

Visit Chez Vous Salon:
