Samsung Fashion Steps Out 2016 Happening Tomorrow

FSO_16-001_Opening NIght_E_Invite_1080wx548px_wSubaru_r3

Singapore’s longest outdoor fashion runway is happening once again tomorrow 26 March 2016 at Orchard Road. It will start at 6pm along Paragon Main Atrium and fashion show will start at 7.30pm before ending with a party. Be sure to catch the show along Orchard road tomorrow night and all the fashion event related promotions and activities for the months ahead! 😉

Get ready for one of Singapore’s largest fashion festival in two weeks’ time, as Samsung Fashion Steps Out @ Orchard 2016 [FSO 2016] returns for a six-week extravaganza from 25 March – 8 May 2016.

Organised by Orchard Road Business Association [ORBA], FSO 2016 is presented by Samsung, the festival’s Official Technology Partner.

In conjunction with FSO 2016, Samsung is also launching its latest Samsung Galaxy S7 4G+ and S7 edge 4G+. Samsung Fashion Steps Out @ Orchard 2016 is supported by Singapore Tourism Board [STB], with MasterCard as the Official Card.

This year’s edition promises to wow visitors to Orchard Road with much to do, see and shop. A string of lifestyle activities from events, a signature runway show, fashion installations and exclusive MasterCard® shopping promotions have been planned for the annual festival, as Orchard Road’s famous shopping belt celebrates the Spring/Summer fashion season with local and international brands.

STAR-STUDDED ORCHARD FASHION RUNWAY

On March 26 – and for the first time, an entourage of more than a dozen personalities, influencers and artistes from Singapore and around the region will join the Orchard Fashion Runway. They include JJ Lin [Singapore]; VJ Daniel [Indonesia]; Min Chen [Malaysia]; Laureen Uy [Philippines]; Aisyah Aziz [Singapore], Sheila Sim [Singapore], Hayley Woo [Singapore], and more.

Adding to the style factor are eight labels to look out for – FOX Kids & Baby; MASH-UP; PHANTACi; Raffles Privato; RÊVASSEUR; Sean & Sheila; Thomas Wee; and UNIQLO Lifewear. PHANTACi, a label by Asian pop icon Jay Chou, makes its debut at the Orchard Fashion Runway while Raffles Privato, Thomas Wee and UNIQLO Lifewear participate for the first time.

The biggest outdoor fashion show, curated by Singapore’s fashion doyen Daniel Boey, is the curtain raiser for Samsung Fashion Steps Out @ Orchard 2016. Like the previous FSO editions, the stretch between Scotts Road and Bideford Road will be closed to vehicular traffic and transformed into Singapore’s longest fashion runway.

FRINGE EVENTS

Stepping into Spring

With the Lunar New Year only a day away, I thought it fitting to share some of my recent outfits that’s perfect for the festive season. Since young, it’s been a tradition for my family and I to don on new clothes for the new year, but I’ve never been clear or sure of why that is the case. A little google research online revealed that it’s a traditional belief that new year heralds new beginning and so we wear new clothes to celebrate. Well for me, I’d take any reason to shop for new clothes! 😛 As you can see, I’ve already worn these outfits so they won’t be “new” per se, I’ve actually purchased and reserved one set of outfit, a top from my friend, Aggy’s online label Tact.sg and a red leather skirt from Stradivarius for the very first day, which you can expect to see either on my Instagram or an upcoming blog post. 😉 For this post, I’ve picked this Begin Again dress from C/MEO, an increasingly popular and cult fashion brand from Australia with chic silhouettes and cuts which you can purchase from Revolve. You might not have heard about MARYLING, as they’re new to Singapore but have been rapidly expanding from their home country Italy, Milan to China, Korea and is also no stranger to many female Hong Kong celebrities. What I love about this brand is their unique one of a kind pieces, in fact for Singapore, they’re only bringing in each design with a few varying sizes. Talk about exclusivity! Have I mentioned that MARYLING uses the same lace and tweed fabrics that produces Chanel pieces? So you’ll find very fine fabrics including 100% silk that feels soft and great on the skin. You’ll find their temporary pop up store at Takashimaya Level 3, Women Department, before they launch their flagship store officially in Singapore.

Wishing you and your loved ones a very blessed and prosperous Lunar New Year in advance!

Leather & Lace

Hi loves!

Do you love the leather & lace combination like I do? If the outfit seems similar, it’s because I wore this out to Affordable Art Fair 2015.

Sammydress leather jacket bag 001 Sammydress leather jacket bag 002

Super love this cute Crossbody Bag with chain from Sammydress, available here. I bought my white lace dress from Temt in Singapore. You can also shop from Sammydress’s collection of white lace dresses here. Alternatively, I also recommend this grey lace sweater mini dress. The pieces from Sammydress are super affordable with most pieces below $20, and even below $10. The quality and finishing may not be perfect but they definitely provide a great variety. Items ship from China and takes 1-2 weeks to arrive.

Thank you Sammydress for leather bag and grey lace sweater mini dress!

Hi Loves!

A while back I had the pleasure to attend the opening launch of American Eagle Outfitters (VivoCity, #B1-06/07). To say I love the brand is quite an understatement – those casual laid back pieces are sooo comfortable – from cut off shorts, skinny jeans to flannel shirts (softest ones I’ve tried, guys). 20 Picks from Sandro’s FW 2015/16

Hi Loves!

We’re right in the midst of fall, if you haven’t got your wardrobe Fall ready, here are some of my picks from Sandro’s FW 2015/16 collection!

Sandro is a Parisian brand with refined & versatile men’s and women’s collections. Founded by Evelyne Chetrite in 1984, she developed a new women’s aesthetics – modern and sophisticated with a hint of androgyny.  In line with the Sandro sensibility, Evelyne’s son, Ilan, launched Sandro Homme in 2008 focusing on revisited classics with a modern twist.

Sandro’s FW 2015/16 is very much on trend with this season’s revival of 70’s aesthetics. Specifically this collection pays homage to the legendary American rock festivals.  Lace, floral prints and bordeaux(wine) & tan colour evokes bohemian vibes, leather, studs & demin completes the androgynous, rock look. 70’s key pieces such as the flare pants makes a reprise, paired with finely knit turtle neck for a modern look.

My favourite pieces will have to be those with lace, bordeaux colours and with studs – these pieces are timeless and will stay in the wardrobe for a long time. But I also really love the printed tops, with graphics and words like “Mirror” and “Freedom”. These adds more excitement and will also potentially be pieces that will remind you of the fun times.

Some snaps from the store visit followed by the 20 picks from the women’s collection!

Singapore Fashion Week 2015 Recap

Hi loves!

Well you’ve probably seen my IG updates from months back when I attended a few shows from Singapore Fashion Week, mostly the young designers show, namely LASALLE Graduation show & Harpers Bazaar Next Gen show. Also attended the Star Creation & Zalora shows but did not manage to snap any nice photos so there’s none from those shows for this post~ 😛

While I definitely enjoyed both LASALLE Grad show and Harpers Bazaar Next Gen show – I find that LASALLE show designs focused more on artistic concepts & were more explorative, understandably as it’s an arts school (and my Alma mater, where I studied Fashion Media & Industries, majoring in Management), while Harpers’ show designs were a lot more “commercialized”, collections that look like they already belonged in the store. There’s no critical judgement from me either ways, as I would love to have pieces from select designers (you’ll know which from my comments/captions below, heh) from both shows in my wardrobe!

Alright, enough with my introductions~2015-05-14 08.54.51 2015-05-14 08.54.53 2015-05-14 08.54.55 2015-05-14 08.54.56Loving my make up for the day, hence the slew of selfies, heh. Am missing my hair from those days before I bleached it. Lol.
2015-05-14 09.37.58Getting ready to meet my inspiration, Miroslava Duma. In case you don’t know her, she was a fashion magazine editor, currently a street style icon and founder of buro247.com – which is now present in more than 7-8 countries featuring luxury fashion and lifestyle topics. She’s extremely well connected, business minded and savvy! While she still look like a teenager, she’s in her thirties and she has 2 kids! Don’t ask me how she does it!

2015-05-14 23.28.40Met up with Sifra my LASALLE school mate & Smita for the talk!
2015-05-14 10.25.37The emcee did such a bad job honestly. Her questions were so bad, some didn’t even make sense. It would have been much better if Duma and Dion Lee interviewed each other. It was such a waste that we did not get to hear more from the two of them as the questions were a waste of time/did not make sense.2015-05-14 23.35.44Nonetheless, with the little that was shared, it was inspiring to hear from Duma, who shared about having good work ethics – you’ve got to work for it, don’t expect things to drop down from the sky!
2015-05-14 11.13.26-2And got a pic with her!!! <3 Thanks to Smita! <3

2015-05-14 14.15.59Snapped a pic of this dude with this crazy and cool tiger head bag.

2015-05-15 21.10.02Headed to Chez Vous to get my hair done for Star Creation later in the evening. Belatedly realize that I should have gone for sleek back hair since I was wearing a rather edgy dress. Ohwells!
2015-05-14 22.25.20With cuties Q-li & Jem whom I met at SFW!

Day 2 of SFW, decided to have my hair done at the salon near my place before heading down!

And after it’s done, selfie taken on the cab! Decided to go for a very defined and red carpet-style hair and makeup look. Sleek hair back is actually no longer on trend since it’s been done 2-3 years back, but who cares as long as I like the look, heh!

Hearts & Lights Aglow this Christmas at ION Orchard

Hi Loves~

I was at ION Orchard’s media breakfast the other morning and my heart was warmed to hear about their Christmas initiatives!

ION Orchard Christmas 2015 006

In a nutshell, ION Orchard celebrates the season of giving in partnership with a dozen designer brands as part of its efforts to give back to the less privileged.

ION Orchard Christmas 2015 003

To mark the festivities, there will be 12 Christmas trees specially designed by key brands at ION Orchard; customised gift wrapping paper jointly designed by special needs students; and the mall’s outdoor space, ION² will be transformed into a glittering Christmas Garden.

ION Orchard Christmas 2015 004

The 12 designer trees of Christmas for charity

In a unique collaboration, 12 brands at ION Orchard will each offer its interpretation of Christmas with a specially designed exquisite 2.4-metre-tall Christmas tree. They are Alice + Olivia, Braun Büffel, Buben & Zorweg, Cortina Watch, Crate & Barrel, Diane Von Furstenberg, Ermenegildo Zegna, Kurt Geiger, Kwanpen, Moncler, Parfums Christian Dior and TWG Tea.

ION Orchard Christmas 2015 005The trees will be central to the mall’s fund-raising activities for Christmas, inspiring ION Orchard VIP members and loyal shoppers to open up their hearts and put in bids to adopt the tree or trees of their choice by using the iPad next to each tree. Bids start at S$8,000, with the highest bidder getting adoption and naming rights for each tree of their choice plus a token of appreciation from the respective brands and ION Orchard.

ION Orchard Christmas 2015 001ION Orchard’s traditional 20-metre outdoor tree will be given a sparkling makeover in the mall’s first partnership with Swarovski. It will be adorned with more than 28,000 crystals while its cavernous walk-in interior will dazzle visitors with a kaleidoscope of lights, mirrored ceilings and a rotating chandelier. This is also Swarovski’s first outdoor Christmas tree in Singapore.

At the heart of ION Orchard’s festive celebrations will be a series of fundraising activities to benefit the Community Chest, with proceeds going to the Rainbow Centre Yishun Park School.

In a partnership with NETS, shoppers can also make direct donations at several donation points near concierge counters at Basement 3 and, Levels 1 and 4.

Funds raised will go towards helping the Rainbow Centre Yishun Park School, under the care of Community Chest. Some 350 students will benefit from the funds raised. As part of the Care & Share Movement led by Community Chest, donations received will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Government.

In addition to raising funds for the less advantaged this season, our collaboration with Community Chest creates a platform for special needs students from Rainbow Centre Yishun Park School to showcase their creativity and imagination by designing the mall’s Christmas wrappers.

Beneficiaries from Rainbow Centre Yishun Park School will be assisting with gift wrapping at the L1 concierge on 13th November from 10.30am to 12.30pm and on 14th November from 6.00 to 8.30pm, lending a personalized touch to the mall’s gift wrapping service for its shoppers.

Spend $250 at basement floor shops and redeem a $15 voucher, while $500 spent at both basement floor and upper floor shops will entitle shoppers to a $30 voucher. Exclusive to ION Rewards members, spend at least $2,000 and receive a $100 voucher and a Moleskine notebook. Complimentary Christmas gift wrappers can be redeemed with a minimum spend of $100. Terms and conditions apply.

Retro Days with MAC Wash & Dry Collection & Huggable Lips Collection

Hi Loves!

I may profess to be beauty junkie, but my level is no where near MAC’s. What do I mean? I mean they launch some 3-4 collections a month, (yes that’s about 1 a week, or sometimes simultaneously they launch 4 collections in a month). So by the time you’re reading this, the collections here are most probably sold out, since my blog posts are mostly belated reviews, heh. Nonetheless, some of the key basics like the foundations would still be there, and if you’re in love in sometime LE featured here, you can try it to find it on Amazon or Carousell! If all else fails… Visit the shop to ask for similar colours, or buy something new from their current collections. 😉

Anyhoo, read on to check out what went down in store on the day Smita and I went to check out Beno (MAC’s makeup artist) working magic on the model with Wash & Dry collection and of course also checking out the then new Huggable Lips collection. 😀

MAC Wash & Dry MAC Huggable Lips 001Beno highly recommends this as a skin prep all over the face before foundation. He says this is particularly good for models when they come in with dull skin, it helps to perk, brighten and hydrate their skin.

MAC Wash & Dry MAC Huggable Lips 002Beno also swears by Lightful C softening lotion(toner), a rather new product launched this year, Beno says that this product with Vit C helps to brighten the skin.

MAC Wash & Dry MAC Huggable Lips 003MAC Wash & Dry MAC Huggable Lips 004MAC Wash & Dry MAC Huggable Lips 005Beno applied Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof foundation on the model with a brush.
MAC Wash & Dry MAC Huggable Lips 006Already with a bright pop or green eyeliner on, Beno applies a more subdued lip colour on the model.

MAC Wash & Dry MAC Huggable Lips 012And the super gorgeous Wash & Dry collection. Really love the 2 face foundation brush.

MAC Wash & Dry MAC Huggable Lips 013

Now on to the Huggable Lips collection! These lipsticks are amazing. They give your lips a very bouncy feel and wet look. I have no idea how that is huggable. And I super love the sleek lip bullet, a change compared to the usual MAC lip bullets. Much prefer this actually!MAC Wash & Dry MAC Huggable Lips 014 MAC Wash & Dry MAC Huggable Lips 015MAC Wash & Dry MAC Huggable Lips 016 MAC Wash & Dry MAC Huggable Lips 017With the super cute bear mascot!

Makeupstore Artist Plexi Gloss LipglossSo we walked around Sephora and chanced upon the launch of Makeupstore’s Artist Plexi Gloss/lipgloss and I won the sample set and a pouch and a lip over. #Blessed. It’s true I am very blessed at winning lucky dips.

Here we are with our lip overs. I chose a bright red and I do love the lip gloss that gave very good hydrating and pigmented coverage without the typical sticky feeling.

Pink Hair for Hope with Hairdreams Singapore

Hi Loves!

You might have noticed the pink streaks in my hair since last week. I paid a visit to Hairdreams Singapore to experience and share about their ‘Pink Hair for Hope’ campaign and hair creation package which costs $80, and 20% of the proceeds will be donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation and is available for the whole month of October.

This includes the application of the stripes, wash and blow dry, and subsequent removal at the salon. This hair creation lasts up to three months, giving those in support a chance to spread the awareness of the support for Breast Cancer.

The last time I had coloured streaks hair extensions was when I was 21… For a rock & roll themed bday party. 💁😎✊😆 I’m glad that the extensions I have now is for an even more meaningful cause!

Stylista Korean Beauty & Fashion Workshop

Hi Loves!

Stylista Bloggers Korean Beauty & Fashion Workshop 0262 weeks ago, Stylista squad held our first Korean Beauty & Fashion workshop and here’s what went down!

Thanks to our location sponsor Park Regis Singapore, we held a cosy and intimate workshop session at their Melbourn Room on level 2. I recommend this hotel for business travellers as it’s conveniently located 5 min away from Clark Quay MRT station, plus you can also enjoy the night life nearby after work. It’s also great for a local staycation over the weekends as it’s newly refurbished and fully equipped with swimming pool, gym and dining restaurants.
Park Regis Singapore 001Before the event took place, we had a quick tour around the hotel and it’s lovely! Once entering the hotel at ground floor, you’ll find seating spaces, restaurant and bar to hang out and chill.
Park Regis Singapore 003At the check in lobby, you’ll find free flow refreshment drink and a long counter that comes with seats to cater to the business travellers that come in from long haul flights.

There are 202 rooms and they come in 4 types; Park,  Merchant,  Quay & Regis (Suites). Park and Merchant are the standard rooms, with Park facing the office buildings while Merchant has a view of Clark Quay. Quay rooms are on the second floor with direct exit to the pool. Regis refer to the exclusive suite rooms.

Park Regis Singapore 012 Park Regis Singapore 013 Park Regis Singapore 010 Park Regis Singapore 007 Park Regis Singapore 006Regis rooms are suite rooms located from the 2nd to the 7th floor, they are bigger and some come with attached balcony, as in the one above that we viewed.

After the tour, we got back to the function room to prepare for the event.  Thanks to Floral Garage Singapore for sponsoring the floral arrangements for the table setting and baby breaths for our attendees’ goodie bag!

Stylista Bloggers Korean Beauty & Fashion Workshop 027Not forgetting our hair sponsor Chez Vous for the hair services vouchers, Polished Hand + Foot Spa for mani+pedi vouchers as well as Kenny Bite Production for capturing the event happenings!

Stylista Bloggers Korean Beauty & Fashion Workshop 008With a heart full of love and gratitude, I’d like to also give special thanks to my sisters & friends Jia Hui, Lu Jia, Ying Ling, Christabelle, Clarabelle, Leanne, Smita and Leon. Thank you for your prayers and encouragements. Thank you Jesus that you’ve made it all possible. It hasn’t been an easy journey to organize and prepare for an event like this for the first time but it’s made possible because everything fell into place with thanks to our sponsors and in accordance to God’s perfect timing. The Stylista squad definitely has a lot to improve on and we’ve definitely learnt a lot from this. If there’s only one thing you can take away from my post today, I hope it’s this:

You will never be fully prepared to fulfil your goals. Whether you fail or succeed, the act of taking a risk will stretch you. And it’s in taking that step of faith, out of your comfort zone that you will learn much and be closer to your goals. Don’t stop dreaming and never give up. One day you’ll look back and be thankful that you didn’t give up.

If you haven’t, be sure to follow me on IG @ena_teo for my updates!

Casual Days

Hi Loves!

What’s your idea of a casual weekend? Mine’s definitely hanging with family or friends over food – whether cafe hopping, at the mall’s, my place or theirs. Had the chance to pop by Christabelle‘s place the other weekend and took the chance to also take some outfit shots around her place. And while reviewing these photos, I belatedly realize… that I am back to leaning towards monochrome colours for my wardrobe. Black, white & greys are just so easy to mix and match with… and easy to throw on in the morning too!

Although I have 2 similar dresses, one sleeveless and another short-sleeved, I just needed to get this when I saw it, hahaha. #Obsessed. I imagine this is the perfect dress to wear to support your favourite boy or sports player for a game. Throw on a black moto jacket or a jazzy bomber jacket and you’re ready to attend a concert or throw a party for your favourite rockstar. This particular dress is sold out, for more Unif dresses, check out Revolve Clothing here. I got this DIOR NOT WAR singlet/tee from Malacca! Sometimes you can get really cute slogan tees from the market stalls. If you’re looking for something similar online, see this. Or if you prefer sleeved tees, which are reallyyy comfy, I totally recommend this cute OBEY Glitch Garden tee.  For shorts, nothing else beats American Eagle’s Outfitters’. I got these cut off shorts at their Vivo City outlet, I highly recommend you check them out if you haven’t! Photoworthy Captures at ION Orchard’s The Fashion Playhouse

Hi Loves!

A few days ago I had the pleasure to visit ION Orchard’s The Fashion Playhouse with 2 Fashion Inversion rooms; one where you’ll look like you’re floating in mid air and another where you’ll look like a giant when you’re standing on the right side of the room. There’s also a Fashion Reflection room where you can lie on the floor and look like you’re on the front cover of a magazine! It’s definitely something cute, fashionable and photo-worthy.
ION Fashion Playhouse 2015 003ION Fashion Playhouse 2015 002 ION Fashion Playhouse 2015 001

Unfortunately, the Fashion Reflection room was not in working order the day I was there. So there’s no photos of that room.

The Fashion Playhouse opens from 11am to 8pm daily to shoppers who spend a minimum of S$80 at ION Orchard.  In collaboration with the Singapore Tourism Board, ION Orchard is offering free admission for shoppers to the fashion playrooms, and all they need to do is to post at least three Instagram posts with the hashtag #IONPlayhouse and #OrchardRoad. The Fashion Playhouse will be located at ION2 from 24 September to 21 October.

Contingency plans have also been put in place in light of the haze.  The outdoor Fashion Playhouse will be closed if the PSI readings exceed the unhealthy range (above 150).  Signs will be placed at the entrance of the Fashion Playhouse to encourage shoppers to minimise prolonged outdoor activities, or redirect shoppers accordingly.

Aside from the Fashion Playhouse, shoppers will also be inspired by the larger-than-life doll-houses on Levels 2 and 3 of ION Orchard.  These carefully styled doll houses showcase the latest collections from the mall’s best-loved brands such as Bally, Diane von Furstenberg and Dsquared2 among others.

Also part of the Autumn Winter Fashion Season are a series of shopper workshops and shopping deals throughout the season, including the perfect accessory this fall – a limited edition Dian Von Furstenberg scarf – with a minimum of $1,000 spent.

Have fun checking out the Fashion Playhouses and shopping at ION Orchard! 😉

Thank you Daphne from Weber Shanwick Singapore PR for the kind invite! Also thanks to the friendly staffs on site for taking the photos for me and posing with me too! 🙂

Relaxing Weekend Getaway at ParkRoyal On Pickering

Hi Loves!

Recently I had the pleasure to indulge in a staycation at ParkRoyal  on Pickering, Singapore’s first hotel in a garden. The entire stay passed like a breeze, thanks to the great service, wonderful lush atmosphere and lovely food and drinks served. My bestie Fion and I stayed at the Orchid Club Deluxe Room and enjoyed access to the Orchid Club Lounge which provides afternoon tea, cocktail and breakfast. I fell in love with the hotel’s architecture which integrates organic lines and greenery so seamlessly. All in all, I definitely recommend this place as a weekend getaway for locals and a hotel of choice for foreigners! A few months back, I was involved in the shooting of a local documentary commissioned by Discovery Channel for SG50, the short film is titled Heartland and you can check out the details on their microsite here and visit their FB here. From 17-21 August, Heartland will be showing daily at 6pm on Discovery Channel SEA, Starhub Ch 422. I actually haven’t seen the full film and hopefully will have the chance to watch it soon. I’m playing my role as a property agent and giving KC a tour of Tiong Bahru, heh. Did you know that Tiong Bahru was one of the earliest HDB estate in Singapore? And that the designs of the old HDBs there are inspired by the 1920s transportation modes like airplane?  #NowYouKnow 😉 Anyways, before the filming, the kind folks at Chez Vous helped to give me a soft and airy look, so I can look pretty on screen. 😛 I love the look! Much thanks to Jaime and Eugene at Chez Vous! <3
