Well, a few months back I sported purple hair, just in case you missed it on my IG. I did it for Chez Vous’ look book – for a detailed explanation of how to achieve the look, check it out here! For all 20 look, see here.
What I learnt about sporting purple hair:
1. It required bleaching my hair 3x to get a blondish colour before dye-ing purple. It lasts for about 3 weeks before it all fades, leaving just a tad purple at the base.
2. A lot of people will come up to you and say “Wow, you’re so brave!” which I later figured out it’s a nicer way of saying, “Wow, that’s crazy!”. Yes, really. That said, it was a real conversation starter. People I’m not really close to at work/office will start conversations with my hair colour “Oh, it has faded? That fast?” “How do you maintain this!”.
3. Speaking of maintenance. Let’s just say that crazy coloured hair that requires bleaching your hair 3x is not for the faint hearted or the lazy (which I am, but for my hair… I was rather diligent..). I won’t bore you with the details, but if you are keen, maybe I will share another post of how diligent I was in hair maintenance, post purple hair. Honestly I won’t dare repeat such a feat without the trusted hair directors at Chez Vous. Leave the bleach on too long or too near your scalp and you might get burned. It will damage your hair, that’s for sure, but it’s how you lessen the damage during the colour and how you take care with post hair colour treatments, to give your hair some semblance of life…
4. Once in my life is enough. I don’t regret having my hair in a pretty purple, YOLO, guys. Gotta try it at least once! And if not now, then when? I don’t want to be 30, married with kids and sporting purple hair. Not judging those that do, just not something I’d do when I’m 30… I think.
Wow, didn’t know there was so much I had to share about my purple hair colour journey!
Some snaps from when I had purple hair!: Getting my hair bleached 3 x…Till it was in a hair colour that reminded me of Naruto… And having PURPLE hair. Omg guys. Yes that’s me, getting very amused seeing myself with fantasy like purple hair! Like is this for real? Is that my real hair? YES. FURREAL.
Cue many selfies and looks with my brilliant purple hair:I could be a Yakuza in my previous life. (Yearite…) Or I could just be me, but with purple hair! ^^
Went back for a treatment because Purple hair requires it. Rather, bleached hair requires maintenance, don’t say I didn’t warn ya! Purple hair + curls? Hair life doesn’t get any better than this right? Love my purple hair curls!
This was probably when I LOVED my purple hair colour the MOST. When it was fading and it was like Unicorn hair!!! <3 Alas, it only lasted about a week for this perfect hair colour. Am honestly amazed at girls who can maintain their pastel hair colour for like forever, HOW DO YOU DO IT?

A while back I had the pleasure to attend the opening launch of American Eagle Outfitters (VivoCity, #B1-06/07). To say I love the brand is quite an understatement – those casual laid back pieces are sooo comfortable – from cut off shorts, skinny jeans to flannel shirts (softest ones I’ve tried, guys). The opening launch was a blast – there was a table hockey, beers & bites in stores, local celebrities and cute models in attendance. Check out some snaps from that day! Can’t go wrong with AEO jeans for a casual yet chic attire. Really cute burger bites! Love the AEO flag detail too~ Local celebrities from <Ah Boys To Men>, Joshua & Tosh.
Checkin’ out pieces in stores! Thanks Kenny of KennyBite productions for these shots!
Do you fancy lipsticks but sometimes wish they were more moisturising? Or perhaps you like lip gloss but wish they were less sticky and more pigmented?
Well, TheFaceShop make up creators definitely heard your wishes because they’ve come up with Ink Lipquid which promises to be Lipstick, Lip gloss & Lip Tint all in one, plus it’s super moisturizing. What I love about Ink Lipquid is that it delivers the colours while retaining its hydrating sensation and it has a sweet scent.
3 Key Points of Ink Lipquid:
Lasts for 12 hours with serum base moisture
Maintains moisture on lips with 70% water base (*Clinical test complete)
Color stain maintained for 12 hours
Vivid colours that are long lasting on lips for up to 12 hours (*Clinical test complete)
A light touch with the pen’s tip completes fully colored lips An ink pen tip like brush helps in application of colour, presenting a clear lip shape
The new Ink Lipquid is equipped with THEFACESHOP’s very own makeup technology- “Moisture Holding System”. This makeup technology helps maintain moisture with its water-holding ingredient.
In addition, the “Ink Staying Polymer” technology helps maintain fresh and clean make up through creating a light and transparent film layer that holds moisture and color.
Overall I find that these Ink Lipquids appealing because of the moisturizing texture, scent and lasting tints, if you’re picking the lighter colours, you may have to swipe 2 layers, especially if you have darker lips like I do.
TheFaceShop Ink Liquids are available in stores island wide.
Thank you TheFaceShop Singapore for sending these Ink Lipquids over for review!

Thank you CSC @ Changi for the media kit and news update.
A while back, I had the chance to have my hand in dessert art making under the demonstration and teaching of pastry chef Jasmin at Stellar at 1 Altitude located at One Raffles Place. It was such a pleasure and enjoyable experience to make the beautiful and delicious desserts and to be able to taste them later! We had fun making or designing rather, a platter of desserts, two of which featuring Stellar’s best loved desserts Creme Brulee and Fireball – these are sooo good. The Creme Brulee is coated with a layer of crispy caramel and is soft inside. The Fireball is presented with a coat of fire and is a ball of chocolate goodness! Check out the photos of the demonstration followed by our own creations below~
Always love the beautiful city scene from the top of One Raffles Place! Notes to bring home for the dessert making process. Most parts of the dessert platter was pre-made, we learnt how to design them on the platter and complete with finish touches. Head chef of Stellar at 1-Altitude popped by to say hi.Just some of the tools, ingredients we used and our drinks. Chef Jasmin showing us how she designs the plate with edible gold liquid. And her very artistically designed and plated desserts. Completely looks like a calligraphy artwork! Chef Jasmin must be very good at calligraphy. Love the beautiful night scene in the background as Chef works on the dessert art. The complete look. It’s not going to be easy to duplicate this edible art piece! We try…. hahahah. It was amazing and fun to play and paint with the edible gold liquid. We also had fun putting the edible flowers on the dessert. Our table’s completed platter. Not bad right? 😉 One more city scape for the night. After the fire diminishes, you get a molten chocolate ball which is oh so good. Thank you Chef Jasmin, Stellar at 1-Altitude & Heat branding PR for having me at the dessert making class!
A few weeks back, I travelled to Genting with a group of bloggers and friends. Although we didn’t know each other (except for our plus ones of course), we got to know each other better through the trip and had a blast! We had so much fun that by the end of the trip, I really didn’t want it to end~
There’s going to be so many exciting developments taking place in Genting! A new premium outlet mall is slated to open in mid 2016. 20th Century Fox Theme Park which will be completed in phases, will open by the end 2016. And that’s not it! There’ll also be a Sky Avenue Mall, Sky Plaza & a new cable car system which will connect First World Hotel & the new premium outlet mall. Which only means we totally have to go and check it out when they’re open!!! By then, spending 1 weekend at Genting will not be enough, you’ll need at least 3 days or more. In the meanwhile, read on and find out what we did during our recent trip, so you can get some ideas if you’re planning to head down soon!
The bloggers and I headed to Genting via coach. We met up at Boon Lay shopping centre for the coach ride: There are a few coach providers, we travelled with The One. I must say that their buses (to and fro) and bus drivers were very good, so I would recommend them. Bus tickets are about S$80-90 for round trip. We took the night coach which departed at 10pm and we reached Genting around 4.30am.
We were welcomed by the RWGenting team when we reached Genting and were directed to our hotel rooms at the newest wing, aka Tower 3, XYZ deluxe rooms. Here’s how the lobby looks like! Tower 3 lobby. Terminal 2 cafe located at the ground floor of Tower 3.Plenty of seating spaces at Tower 3 lobby. I like the modern graphic interior design & use of fresh colours. Even more spaces, yes it’s a huge lobby, but even then I think it’s still not as big as the main First World Hotel lobby. Automatic check out stations. Our rooms are located on the 25th floor. Even though there are 6 lifts, it still takes a long time (15min) for the lift to reach our floor especially during peak hours from 10-11am, which is around check out timing. So plan your time in advance to give allowance for the lifts. 🙂Our XYZ Deluxe Room! I like the modern, simple yet chic interior design and the comfy bed & linens. However there’s no wifi in the rooms. A quick check with the RWGenting team reveals that they have already feedback to the management but it is still not confirmed if and when wifi will be provided in the rooms. If you need wifi, it is available at the lobby, as well as at cafes like Starbucks & The Bakery. You should also bring your own toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo) as they are not provided for. Should you forget, you can also buy from stores like Watsons nearby. After a few more hours of rest, we got ready for our brunch! Here’s the morning view from our #25 floor lift lobby. Am using the miniature lens effect of Casio TR60 camera. With bestie Fion on our first trip together! ^^With the local bloggers & friends~ Visit what Chiu Yen have to say about the Genting trip here and Eileen’s post here!
We started our day with brunch at Coffee Terrace, for their lunch buffet. We were allowed in earlier than the public crowd (yay to media perks!).
At the Coffee Terrace, you can savour dishes from the Local, Flavors of Malaysia, Chinese, Western, Japanese & Western Asian counters (Last two counters opens only for dinners). There are also very good varieties of appetizer, salads and desserts on the buffet spread.
The delicious spread of food on our bloggers table! We decided that we will each take food from the various counters and combine them on the table. This fantastic idea was suggested by Chiu Yen, who has a lot of buffet experience! Most of us were full from this spread, we didn’t have to go for round 2… Well, only except to get ice cream!:Ice cream and sorbets in chocolate, raspberry, blueberry, strawberry, orange and lemon flavours. It’s hard to decide, but my favorites are the lemon & blueberry flavours. Buffet dining with a view!Love what you see at the Coffee Terrace buffet spread? 😉 The quality & variety of food is great and definitely value for money. I personally really like the local food, char kway teow, chicken rice and the desserts are nice too. I’d recommend this spot for buffet lunch if you’re visiting Genting!

After a very hearty lunch buffet, we headed to Chin Swee Caves Temple. The Chin Swee Caves Temple is situated in the most scenic site of Genting Highlands. Even if you are not a devotee, like myself, you will still enjoy this cultural experience. Within the temple is the statue of Reverend Master Chin Swee, who is also referred to as a deity in Fujian Province for his supernatural abilities to summon rain and drive away evil spirits. Located 4,600 feet above sea level, the temple is about 5-10 minutes drive down from the peak of the mountain. The temple attracts many local and foreign devotees as well as tourists.
Irene explaining the history of Chin Swee Cave Temple. The story goes that the Genting Group founder Tan Sri Dato Seri (Dr) Lim Goh Tong had a dream while visiting the area and Reverend Master Chin Swee aka Chin Swee Deity appeared in his dream and blessed him, so Dato Lim donated this plot of land and built the Chin Swee Temple. Also, the face of Deity Chin Swee is black because he fought the evil spirits and escaped but resulted with a black face. The temple’s relief wall and pillar art works are very beautiful and intricate. They display high levels of craftmanship and artistry. Lotus floral ceiling relief. View of the mountains from the temple, lined with incense. Isn’t it a lovely picture? ^^ Gorgeous view of the mountains. Outdoor pond with many turtles. Turtles gathering – 乌龟舞林大会. Not quite sure what they are discussing about though. 😛
We headed to the Sky Terrace level to continue the temple tour. With the Sky Terrace arch & Pagoda behind us!Another shot at the courtyard & infront of the gigantic statue of Buddha (blocked in this photo).
Our series of jumpshots! P.S. I checked with the hosting team that it’s not rude to be doing jumpshots here. 🙂 Not quite sure why I was laughing so hard! 😛 Beautiful environment on and around the temple grounds. Then we embarked on the route towards “Journey to Enlightenment” which is a rather similar experience to the local Singapore Haw Par Villa. Our guide explains that the journey is like a walk through hell followed by heaven. This is the “registration booth”, the beginning of the 18 levels of hell. The statues torturing people are actually very very graphic, vivid and grotesque so I will spare all of my lovely readers and not post them on my blog. Well, actually I didn’t even want the photos on my camera, so I didn’t take photos of them, hahaha. I respect the buddhist religion and teachings, but I sure am glad that I believe in Jesus and I know that I am spared from hell! 🙂 This is the part of the journey where people drink Meng Po Soup to forget their past life and head towards reincarnation – their next life.
There are many scenic spots along the journey. Doesn’t it look like I’m on a forest trek? 😉Again with the group! ^^ Infront of another Sky Terrace arch. That’s how the #7Heavenbloggers came about! Cause we went through hell and emerged to heaven. Hahaha!!! Together with some of the Malaysian bloggers. 🙂
After the temple visit, we headed back to First World hotel for Ed Alonzo’s Psycho Circus of Magic & Mayhem! We were early, so we settled down, finished our water from these cute bottles and did some IG postings while waiting for the show to start. ^^ I won’t give a blow by blow account of what goes down in the show, I’ll just share some of the exciting parts! The show starts with a dance and there will be many along the way. As the title of the show goes, it’s a Psycho Circus of Magic & Mayhem, so you never really know what to expect and there are many surprises along the way. So it’s exciting to seat, watch and wonder what is the next crazy thing to expect! Crazy things like this magic act of swopping out the dancer in the plastic wrappings to the little boy from the audience. You can watch the snippet in my video which I will embed at the end of this post! And crazy acts like Ed Alonzo disappearing from the stage and immediately reappearing in the middle of the audience, which is the exact row where I/we were seated!! And this part was particularly hilarious, Alonzo got a man from the audience and proceeded to burst balloons located all around him. He used a knife to burst the last balloon below his crotch!
We also watched Loughron James Stephen Leslie, a contortionist who also swallow swords from Austrialia, doing BOTH at the same time. CRAZYYY I TELL YOU. We also watched Ed Alonzo in many outfit changes and performing many magic acts with animals, in this case with rabbits. There was also a bird and a very cute dog. There’s also Toru Sato from Japan eating & playing with fire – he definitely didn’t listen, or his mother never told him to “not play with fire”! 😛 With Ed Alonzo, the lovely dancers & Sato. Seems like contortionist Leslie is too cool for photos with the audience. 😛 Group pic with #7Heavenbloggers.
Ed Alonzo’s Psycho Circus brings the best of magic & mayhem to the audience, which is visible from the attractive cast, visually pleasing props, setting & outfits to very crazy and impressive supporting performers. From 7 Nov 2015 to 13 March 2016, catch Ed Alonzo’s Psycho Circus show, tickets starting from RM88 to RM134.50, you can buy your tickets here.
After the performance, we headed to the visitor center where we learnt from Eric about the founder and the history of Resorts World Genting. You can read a summary from this site.A model of Genting highlands, which would require an update when all the new developments open next year!
We also watched a few videos about the exciting developments, one of them is this video about Sky Avenue:
The stunning new Sky Avenue is nestled right in the heart of the refreshed Resorts World Genting, with easy access from all adjoining hotels and leisure attractions. This brand new centre offers a complete and balanced retail mix with 165 retail and F&B lots ranging from 500 sq ft to 15,700 sq ft.
I’m sure I’m not the only one looking forward to this Sky Avenue!
For dinner, we headed to Resort Seafood for seafood steamboat!
Recommended plum ice blended drink! Its sweet, sour and very refreshing. We love it! We had the set for 8 persons, with crabs, prawns and many more, see the full list below: What I like about the dinner is the fresh ingredients with big portions and variety.
Set Menu for 8 persons dining
Member – RM 456.00nett; Non-Member – RM502.00nett
For more information & prices, visit their site here.
After dinner, we headed to First World Plaza for some shopping! The First World Plaza has got to be the coolest, if not highest (like literally, hahaha) shopping destination in Malaysia. There are more than 40 Retail and 25 F&B outlets plus attractions for all ages! For more information, visit here.Didn’t take many photos while shopping, except for this one at the Nike Outlet store, haha.
First World Plaza Operating Hours:
Daily: 10am – 10pm
Shops located at Level T2 will open until 12 midnight.
After shopping & chilling at Starbucks, we headed back to our hotel room to drop our stuff before heading out again to check out the Casino! (No photos allowed in the Casino)
It was my first time to a Casino on land (cause I went to the cruise one before, but that was just to check out my friend’s grandma and speak to her momentarily before we went elsewhere) and at the Genting casino, it was really crazy watching all the money that the gamblers were putting on the tables and the dealers counting the notes and stuffing them into the table, by the thousands(!). I mean, ok, I must sound like a sua ku (mountain turtle, lol) but it was eye opening for me ok? 😛 For more information about Genting Casinos, check out here. I don’t recommend nor endorse gambling, unless you have a lot of money to burn. 😛
We woke up early next morning at 7am and here’s the makeup I brought for the trip! Etude House Any Cushion in Peach (Primer), LANEIGE BB Cushion (Whitening range for dewy look). Benefit Air Patrol Eyelids Primer (New and a fab base for longer lasting eyeshadow colours👌) The Body Shop FW Festive Eyeshadow Palettes, am super loving this Golden set which such a lovely combination of peach, gold & Browns 💕 Clio‘s Latest Tattoo Lasting Gel Brow Pencil & Waterproof Eyeliner & Last but not the least Anna Sui’s loose powder & new lipstick from the Holiday Snow collection (Which is love! Look at that star shaped lippie!⭐️😍) If my make up is not very well done, it probably is, plus puffy eyes because I didn’t have enough sleep, hahaha. 😛Caught up with Chiu Yen, her BF & Warrick at the lobby. Love the view! And another view from the ground floor! We checked out and then had our bags checked in before going for breakfast. Here we’re all using wifi hence the engrossed faces with our phones except for Chiu Yen who’s always camera ready and… not sure what Fion is doing, hahaha. 😛 We had breakfast at First World Cafe and here’s what I typically pick for a buffet breakfast! Porridge, salad, carbs, beans, ham & eggs! <3
After breakfast, we headed to the last and final stop of our trip, the ITALGElato ice cream shop! ITALGElato Head Chef and mini stick ice cream.
ITALGElato is Resorts World Genting’s in house original gelato brand, which makes them the only resort with such a claim. Edward Holloway, the resort’s Senior Vice President of Hotel Operations first came up with the idea of the resort’s own ice cream brand. It started as his team and him were brainstorming concepts for the new theme park and researching how to achieve a perfect Italian gelato in Malaysia. The innovation team then dived into the processes and came up with ITALGElato. The first stall was started for fun during the school holidays and they now have 4 stores and growing. The booth we visited is at Genting First World Lobby area. There are 21 flavours available.I love the red velvet flavour, it’s tastes like the red velvet cake but in ice cream. 🙂The must try signature flavours are Dark Chocolate & Orange Cheese Cake. Their Mango flavour is made with the best grade Alfonzo mangoes and I am not a major mango fan (don’t love it, neither do I hate it) but this tastes great! Ice creams are sold at RM9.50 for one flavour, RM19 for two flavours, RM28.50 for three flavours and RM38.00 for four flavours. The Stick Ice Cream come in 5 flavours, lemon, hazelnut, pistachio, strawberry and Gianduja (Chocolate and hazelnut), priced at RM9.50 for sticks and RM7.50 for minou (smaller sticks). These special sticks have jam inside! I love these.Chef demonstrated how to coat the sticks with coloured sugar & decorate them. And we all had a chance to try! Here are our creations! It was thrilling and exciting to be able to step into the shop to have our hand at the sugar coating process and to be able to see our creations in the store’s fridge. ^^ With our creations! And more ice creams! (Did not actually eat this, was too full hahaha.)Mini ice creams are my favourite! I like these as you can try many different flavours. 8 pieces at RM 20 and 12 pieces at RM 26.Children’s favourite! Random guest’s kids staring at the ice cream made for a cute photo. ^^
Before leaving RWGenting, we took more group shots! A “fierce” look. Followed by our natural friendly smiles. Really thank God that everyone was so friendly and easy to get along! ^^Thanks to Eric, Wei En & the team from RWGenting for taking such good care of us during the trip!
I really didn’t want to leave, and I hope to be back when the Theme Park & new mall is ready! ^^
I had this Waffle Cake at Yong Peng while on the way to Genting and I had it again on the way back to SG because it’s very yummy! It’s crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. 😛
I opted for the ChocolatePeanut Mixed flavour, RM4.50.
I compiled snippets of videos & photos from this Genting Trip into a video, hope you’ll enjoy watching it!:
Thank you RWGenting for having us and hosting us for such a fun weekend!

We’re right in the midst of fall, if you haven’t got your wardrobe Fall ready, here are some of my picks from Sandro’s FW 2015/16 collection!
Sandro is a Parisian brand with refined & versatile men’s and women’s collections. Founded by Evelyne Chetrite in 1984, she developed a new women’s aesthetics – modern and sophisticated with a hint of androgyny. In line with the Sandro sensibility, Evelyne’s son, Ilan, launched Sandro Homme in 2008 focusing on revisited classics with a modern twist.
Sandro’s FW 2015/16 is very much on trend with this season’s revival of 70’s aesthetics. Specifically this collection pays homage to the legendary American rock festivals. Lace, floral prints and bordeaux(wine) & tan colour evokes bohemian vibes, leather, studs & demin completes the androgynous, rock look. 70’s key pieces such as the flare pants makes a reprise, paired with finely knit turtle neck for a modern look.
My favourite pieces will have to be those with lace, bordeaux colours and with studs – these pieces are timeless and will stay in the wardrobe for a long time. But I also really love the printed tops, with graphics and words like “Mirror” and “Freedom”. These adds more excitement and will also potentially be pieces that will remind you of the fun times.

The Autumn eye colours focuses on trendy orange, golds & browns with a special silver colour you can use as a base for the other eye colours to pop up, thanks to Melissa the make up artist for these insightful make up tips!
Here’s my before and after look from the Anna Sui Cosmetics Autumn Collection makeover! 😉 Anna Sui’s makeup artist & trainer used the silver as a base followed by the golds & browns and finished with the pop of orange above the pupil(center of eyelids). The trick to applying the BB creams is to use it sparingly over the face, layering where the blemishes and spots are. You can also use both the Protective BB cream and Illuminating BB cream together, use the Protective BB cream first followed by focusing the Illuminating BB cream on the cheeks and nose bridge for a bright & dewy look. Then lightly dab on the loose powder! You can dab all over for a matte look or avoid the cheeks so it remains glowy. I love that the Anna Sui BB cream & loose powder provides good coverage and it still feels lightweight on the skin.
Melissa also used Anna Sui skincare, before the makeup, it’s super good! Will update and share if they are launching in Singapore soon!
My skin shade suits 02, natural beige better. Visit the counter to test and see which suits your skin tone better!
Check out more Anna Sui Cosmetics from the BHG counter! Super cute brush with egg like casing with Anna Sui’s signature intricate designs. Super pretty Rose Cheek colours (blushers)! Starry Anna Sui’s lipsticks~ FYI, their blushers and lipsticks are rose scented, if you are a rose lover, you will love them!!! An array of bell shaped nail colours so whimsical!
Last but not least, they have also launched a new fruity floral fragrance, Romantica, will have another blog post on this! LOVE the floral inspired bottle with pink & gold colours, so precious! This is most likely going to one of the most popular fragrance this season because of its appealing scent and packaging! Anna Sui Cosmetics are available at Isetan Scotts & BHG counter.

If you’re passing by Wisma and craving for Japanese Udon, Ramen or Katsu curry rice, pop up Goen at Wisma’s food court! Quite a popular stall with locals and Japanese alike. My friend and I opted to share Ramen & Pork Katsu rice. This Udon Goen Tonkotsu Special Ramen is SO GOOD. The broth is thick and amazing. I love it and I will definitely be back for more. Another picture of this yummy goodness! Pork Katsu Curry Rice! The Pork Katsu was a bit tougher than expected, at less than $7.80 (hashbrown is an add on at $1.20), the portion is huge!
Strepsils’ The Right Note Competition finals took place at Bugis+, on the 30th of May, 2015. I had the pleasure to be invited to watch the finals and watch the contestants and winners croon.
Second Sunrise emerged as the unanimous winner of The Right Note Competition, winning five thousand dollars cash prize, a 3 months residency at Switch by Timbre, as well as $1,000 KBOX VIP Party Package. The rest of the finalists, Esther Lo, Rachel Chew and Julien Tardivat, Gary Song and Javin Tham and Danielle Grace Tan received $500 cash prize and $500 KBOX voucher each, as well as a certificate signed by the judges Danny Loong, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Director of Timbre Group, Kevin Doak, Sales Director of RB Singapore as well as Strepsils and The Right Note ambassador Olivia Ong.
Hosted by Jean Danker, the event saw appearances by Strepsils and The Right Note ambassador Olivia Ong and campaign judge Danny Loong. Olivia Ong performed one of her favourite song from her album Repertoire, “幸福記號” as well as a group duet, “Let It Rain” with the top 5 finalists. The top 5 finalists performed a single song each, ranging from hits by Justin Timberlake, Jessie J, Maroon 5 and more.
Second Sunrise. A lot of people gathered to watch the contestants. The judges! Olivia Ong and the contestants sang a song together – I was quite surprised to find that no one uploaded a video of them singing… so I can’t embed for you to watch, nonetheless it was a great performance! The winning contestants. With Hashy at the event~
Thank you Strepsils and Vibes Comms for having me!
We’ve heard a lot of K-pop celebrities, but have you heard of a celebrity manicurist? Well, Shigeyama Ai is one! Madam Shigeyama Ai is a South Korean herself, who now lives and works in Tokyo and her A-list clientele includes members of pop group, Girls Generation.
She was here in town a while back to promote her new metallic gel nail colours with her local partner, Glamourous Factory nail salon and I had the pleasure to watch her in action!
Madam Ai is able to create beautiful nail art, in this case she is creating a set of Mermaid theme nails with pastel metallic colours inspired by the Mother Of Pearl sheen.
Check out more of her nail set creations: Close ups of the demo. Final art work – isn’t it lovely? Love the blend of pinks, purples and pearl and diamante embellishments!
More of her creations! Happy to see Yanteng aka Tebisha at the event. And Madam Ai photobombing us, hahaha.Ending off with a lovely picture of Madam Ai & Sin Yee, co founder of Glamorous Factory salons.

The last time, I reviewed Tsubaki’s hair oil on my post here. This time, it’s about their newer haircare ranges, in particular the Tsubaki Extra Moist Range! I’ve used it for a while and I really like it because it’s great for moisturizing my coloured hair. If you’re like me and you need a moisturizing haircare range, I definitely recommend Tsubaki, plus it smells amazing!
Check out photos from their media preview~ The event was held at Tsubu at Orchard Gateway and we were each given a survey to decide which of the 3 new ranges would suit our hair! Here is the Extra Moist Range, which was best for my hair.
Here is the Volume Touch Range. And the damage care range. This event was before I started on my crazy hair colours, I probably need this range now, haha! Ootd taking outside Tburu. Went all Print on Print on Print that day! Took home a set for review~Went for dinner at Kko Kko Nara and had stew with Sheena after the event!
Thank you Tsubaki and Sheena for the lovely afternoon~
Remember my previous post about MTG ReFa S Carat and Plosion and this photo with the various tiles? I mentioned that I would give an introduction about Cosentino, which is the brand that produces and markets these innovative surfaces for architecture and design, so here it is!
Frankly, preparing and writing this post is quite different from my usual fashion, beauty, food & travel topics but I am happy to be doing so, because architecture & interior design is definitely a topic that I love too! 🙂
If you’re like me and haven’t heard of Cosentino, fret not, because their space here in Singapore is actually pretty new too! Cosentino City, as their showroom space in Duxton is known, only launched in November last year, so this year marks its first year. However the company and brand is way more established, read more about them here:
Cosentino Group is a global, family-owned company that produces and distributes high value innovative surfaces for architecture and design. As a leading company, Cosentino imagines and anticipates together with its customers and partners design solutions that offer value and inspiration to people’ lives. This goal is made possible by pioneering brands that are leaders in their respective segments such as Silestone®, Dekton®, Eco by Cosentino® and Sensa by Cosentino®. Technologically advanced surfaces which allow create unique designs for the home and public spaces.
The group bases its development on international expansion, an innovative research and development program, respect for the environment and sustainability, and its ongoing corporate commitment to society and the local communities where it operates, education, equality and health & safety.
Cosentino Group currently distributes its products and brands in more than 80 countries, and directly manages from its headquarters in Almeria (Spain) its own facilities in more than 20 of them. 90% of Cosentino Group’s turnover comes from international markets.
Cool, huh! I may be wrong as I don’t come from an architectural and design background, but I do feel that the Cosentino is like the Hermes brand in the architecture world. I say this because Cosentino reminds me of the private high fashion brand Hermes as both are privately owned and both have such high levels of excellence in their products. Also, beyond just marketing their products, they create such wonderful environments and also give back to society through sponsorship of artistic collaborations. In essence, brands like them inspire me! Cosentino City’s Kitchen Showroom, is a fully functioning kitchen where cooking classes are also held at. The entire space in addition to being a showroom, is also a space for events. Cosentino City’s show room with discussion & lounge space. Sleek display channels integrated into the table and on screen with various tiles / surfaces. This is where Cosentino team present ideas and visual application of solutions to partners and clients. We didn’t actually see an actual presentation but I’m sure the presentations are cool, heh! The restroom at Cosentino City is a welcomed space with the sleek design.
And we also indulged a little with a variety of Spanish food (love the link to their Spanish roots here!) from My Little Spanish Place. Although I have not been to Spain before, so I can’t tell if the food is authentic but it sure does tastes amazing and I would love to visit the restaurant soon! Have I mentioned that I LOVE olives? Some people take the olives out of their pizzas, but I love the taste of them, especially the black ones in the pizzas! 🙂Amazing spread of food~ And we also heard a little sharing about Spanish White and Red Wines, Paco & Lola & Paco. Then we heard a presentation from the Cosentino team! We watched video presentations about their works and art collaborations/sponsorship, which gets me because I’m/was an art student, hahaha. And watching the snippets of Italy made me miss my times as an art student, touring Italy so much. T_T
Before I start crying as I reminisce the old times, let me share more sleek visuals of Cosentino projects and applications! Dekton was applied in the outdoor exteriors of Baku Airport
Material: Dekton® by Cosentino
Application: Exterior flooring
Name: Baku Heydar Aliyev Airport
Location: Baku Heydar Aliyev International Airport, (Azerbaijan)
Opening Date: April 2014
Total surface area of the renovation: 4,300m2. (Total surface area is 65,000 m2 for the overall airport terminal).
Cosentino surfaces in washrooms & living spaces. Swedish bathroom producer Svedbergs has selected Dekton in four of their Scandinavian style bathroom designs.
The four bathroom concepts – Front, DK, Stil and SiD all differ in expression and function but unite in its remarkable quality and design function.
Dekton’s high resistance to heat, scratches and stains makes it the perfect worktop material for bathroom design.
Cosentino’s ultra-compact surface Dekton is available as a worktop in the colours Danae, Sirocco, and Sirus.

Thank you Cosentino Singapore & Touch PR for the lovely evening!
When the time comes that I get to choose innovative surfaces for a building or space, I will definitely keep Cosentino in mind! 😀
A few months back I was invited by Clozette to review L’Oreal’s Extraordinary Oil Haircare Range at Maax Salon, conveniently located at Siglap which is near my place.
The L’Oreal Extraordinary Oil Haircare range smells amazing as it contains 6 types of floral oils and has many amazing benefits which leaves my hair nourished and silky after the wash & blow. I love it very much.
You can check out the video testimonial on Clozette TV’s site below. 😉
