Get Protected with Bioderma’s Photoderm

Hi Lovelies!

I believe most of you are already aware of the skincare brand Bioderma, especially for their HG product, Bioderma Sensibio H2O water based makeup remover which I also love and have reviewed before here.

What I’m introducing today is their range of sunblocks; Bioderma Photoderm!

Bioderma Photoderm Mood Visual

Bioderma’s Photoderm range aims to protect all skin types.

I put Photoderm Max SPF50+ and Photoderm Spot SPF50+ to test and for review.

BioDerma PhotoDerm Enabalista Blog Review 006_new

Bioderma Photoderm MAX SPF 50+ DRY TOUCH formula boast to be super effective sun protection with high anti UVA and UVB filters and a dry touch finish perfect for our humid weather. PLUS the entire Photoderm range boasts to include“the Cellular Bioprotection patent which protects 99.8% of cellular DNA to prevent free radical damage, protects and activates the immune system cells and protects cell integrity.

Bioderma Photoderm Max SPF 50+ is white and milky in consistency. BioDerma PhotoDerm Enabalista Blog Review 009_new

Bioderma Photoderm Max SPF 50+ is colourless on skin after application. No greasiness and also dry finish as touted yet without being drying, flaky or cakey. Yes, it is impressive for a sunblock.

I used the Bioderma Photoderm Max SPF 50+ and tested it with a few of my other usual skincare routine products and found out that it is 1) best used after my water based moisturizer as it will apply on even smoother. 2) It applies smoothly on bare skin but I prefer it with a layer of moisturizer before. 3) I didn’t like it when I apply it above a layer of serum, perhaps because my serum was slightly gelish in consistency and the sunblock felt a bit too much above the serum.

Therefore my verdict and recommendation is that it can be used on bare skin but better with a bit of moisturizer before.

I enjoyed using this sunblock and I would recommend it especially for athletes or anyone who works under the sun often and want something that protects your skin while being gentle and non-comedogenic (not acne causing).

Bioderma Photoderm SPOT SPF 50+ is also white and milky. For comparison, it is also slightly thicker and greasier than the MAX version above.

BioDerma PhotoDerm Enabalista Blog Review 011_new

After application it is clear and leaves a slightly greasy feel that most strong sunblocks leave, in my opinion.

This Photoderm SPOT SPF50+ was specially formulated for brown spots and scars, it “prevents the appearance of pigment spots thanks to galbridrine, which is capable of inhibiting melanin synthesis.” So I use it mainly/only on my acne spots/pimples as it usually leaves a brown spot after.

I included this duo in my morning routine:

Review Time~

After shaking the bottle, the lotion is white and watery.

After spreading evenly across the skin area, it has a clear finish, as boasted on the bottle cover.

After applying on my hands and legs, I decided to go out for a walk in the park under the evening sun…

I’m didn’t realize that Sunplay SPF130 PA+++ bottle fronts a cat mascot till I saw the pretty cat at the fitness area. What a timely model!

Maybe Sunplay means to say with it’s SPF130 PA+++ you can laze around the afternoon sun just like a pretty cat!

My Review:

Sunplay SPF130 PA+++ Sun Block lotion has a clear finish upon application. It is light and provides a waterproof texture to the skin. It also has a usual Sun Block lotion scent. At such a high SPF (sun protection factor) rating, you can rest assure to play under the hot sun for long hours! Just remember to apply before you go under the sun, for better coverage.

Sponsored Review: Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing UV Milk

If you’ve been following my tweets, you’ll know that I received a facial product in my mail last week and today I’ll be reviewing it!

Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing UV Milk with SPF50 PA+++ offers high sun protection while caring for your skin, 3 in 1 benefits such as sun protection, hydration and make-up base.

This is how the UV Moist Emulsion looks like. As per instructions on the package, you will have to shake the bottle well before squeezing the emulsion out, if not it will be watery.

As boasted on the packaging, the UV Milk emulsion has a light silky smooth texture, transparent and comfortable on skin.

Seen here only with Hada Labo’s Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing UV Milk (What a long name!), eyeliner, blusher and lip gloss. As I’m a believer of having good skin and not relying on foundation, it’s great that this product has 3 in 1 benefits such as sun protection, hydration and make-up base.

Personally, comparing this to the Kiehl’s sunscreen lotion that I am using, I still prefer Kiehl’s as I find Hada Labo’s emulsion just a tad too sticky, maybe it’s due to the extra moisturizing effect it has.

However, at only $19.90, Hada Labo’s product is a lot more affordable and I would recommend it as an effective product that’s also kind on your wallet!

Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing UV Milk with SPF50 PA+++ is exclusively available in Watsons at S$19.90 (38ml).

Do check out their FB (Singapore) page here.

Hope you enjoyed this review!
