Cantonese Fine Dining at Kai Garden @ Marina Square

I’m a huge fan of Asian, especially Cantonese cuisine. Kai Garden open its doors early this year and you’ll be happy to know that they serve up a mean course. Here’s what I’ve tried, read on to find out which ones are highly recommended! 😉

I’d definitely pick this over the other Chilled Mini Tomato with Sweet Plum because I’m a Foie Gras lover and not a fan of sour food. Also, I am fascinated with how they made this. The thin later over the Foie Gras tastes like jelly. It tastes decadent.
Kai Garden Cantonese Cuisine Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0003This is not on the menu, its scallop over fruits, and it’s great.
Kai Garden Cantonese Cuisine Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0004 Kai Garden Cantonese Cuisine Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0005The Chilled Mini Tomatoes with Sour Plum. I guess if you’re a fan of sour plums, you’d like this!
Kai Garden Cantonese Cuisine Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0007We had a choice of Double-boiled Japanese Matsutake (mushrooms) Served in Hot Pot or Shark’s Fin in Supreme Collagen Stock. I picked the former. This soup is boiled with pork and it tastes great. The manner of serving is also very unique, as it came in a teapot and pours out to a small tea cup.

Kai Garden Cantonese Cuisine Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0014Leanne opted for Shark’s Fin in Supreme Collagen Stock. I do wish restaurants would stop serving Shark’s Fin. Fish collagen is great, but we don’t need to eat Shark’s Fin.

Next we have Signature Crispy Peking Duck!Kai Garden Cantonese Cuisine Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0008The many coloured skins/wraps that comes along to serve up the Peking Duck.

And then we have Garoupa in Lobster Soup!Kai Garden Cantonese Cuisine Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0019 Kai Garden Cantonese Cuisine Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0020The staff brings out the Garoupa and serves up the dish bowl by bowl, as the fresh fish is blanched before placing into the soup bowl. Kai Garden Cantonese Cuisine Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0023Next we have Sweet and Sour Pork on the Rocks.
Kai Garden Cantonese Cuisine Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0024I highly recommend this dish. It’s hot on the inside and crispy and cold on the outside.

Kai Garden Cantonese Cuisine Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0028Another highly recommended dish: Pan Fried Charcoal Pork Bun. This is amazing. We were already so full by this dish, but it still tastes amazing.
Kai Garden Cantonese Cuisine Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0029For desserts we had Chilled Fresh Coconut Puree. I am not a fan of coconut but this tastes like Birds Nest (it is not) but it does and I love this.

Have you heard of Eyewear Profiling? Like fragrance profiling, it is about finding what your preferences are and narrowing down the various options to a few picks that would be suitable for you. I had the pleasure to go through an Eyewear Profiling session with Silhouette eyewear brand at W Optics (Suntec) and here’s what went down and my thoughts of Silhouette eyewear. 🙂

In case you have not heard of the brand, Silhouette is an Austrian brand of sunglasses and eyeglasses, founded in 1964. Its headquarters and main production site are located in Linz, Austria.

The Eyewear Profiling session started with answering a questionnaire about lifestyle and preferences. You can find the online style test here.

What kind of dishes do your parents like? My parents, being traditional chinese love their chinese dishes. For special occasions family dinners we will usually order stir fry dishes or go to chinese restaurants. Writing this blog post reminds me that I should bring them down to Gu Ma Jia’s, my sister and I both agree that they will love the dishes there.

Gu Ma Jia Blogger Review Blogger Ena Teo Enabalista_0013 Let’s just dive straight into the dishes we had from Gu Ma Jia’s food tasting! 🙂

3 Highlights for upcoming #NDP2016

You might have already seen my sneak peak update on IG and Dayre (@ena_teo) after NDP 2016 media preview last week.

And here’s the full post of what we can expect for the upcoming NDP 2016! Isn’t it awesome how much lead time there is for our Nation’s birthday that’s coming up on 9 August? Preparations usually start about a year in advance, from idea creation to logistics preparations.

Will jump straight into the initiatives and engagements for this NDP and talk about the 3 highlights along the way in this post! 🙂

3 Highlights for this #NDP2016 Blogger Ena Teo Enabalista_0000We (Nuffnang bloggers and managers) arrived about 20 minutes early for the preview and we had time to settle down, pick the colour of our Fun Pack and head outside for the breakfast items before heading back in. I haven’t attended NDP in a while, and forgot that a lot of Army/NSAF men are involved, so it was quite a culture shock to suddenly see so many men/guys at a media preview. Haha!

3 Highlights for this #NDP2016 Blogger Ena Teo Enabalista_0001Col (NS) Fong Khai Seck, this year’s Chairman Engagement, sharing the NDP Committee’s intentions behind the engagement  efforts of the NDP 2016, anchored by the idea of encouraging collective ownership and promoting inclusiveness.

The theme of this year’s NDP is:
Building Our Singapore of Tomorrow

Highlight 1:
Our Collective Dreams and Aspirations –
a large mosaic consisting of 50,000 individual paintings digitally stitched together.

3 Highlights for this #NDP2016 Blogger Ena Teo Enabalista_0002Our Collective Dreams and Aspirations encourage students and youths to share their dreams and aspirations for Singapore’s future through painting. It aims to stretch the imagination of Singaporeans in dreaming of a better future for Singapore. This stitching of the individual paintings together symbolises the need for collective ownership in charting Singapore’s future. Renowned Singaporean artist, Mr Sun Yu-Li, will create abstract designs based on each of the 51 years of Singapore’s nation building and overlay them atop the mosaic. The resulting Our Collective Dreams and Aspirations thus represent the collective journey of our nation over 51 years.

I love how meaningful and layered this initiative and artwork is. I fondly recall the times when I was in primary school and we were encouraged to draw and paint our vision of a future Singapore. There is so much power in a child’s imagination and vision for the future as it will captivate and motivate them to realise these visions and goals. This reminds me to not give up that child-like wonderment, belief and vision for a better tomorrow, a better society and a better Singapore – even though so often we are touted to already be the city of the future – there is still much we can improve and progress on.

Another creative initiative this year is Our Pledge to Singapore card, a collaborative effort by former TV artiste, Mr Edmund Chen and children with special needs from Pathlight School as they co-design this year’s Pledge Card. The public can participate in this initiative by making our pledge to Singapore in two ways: 1. through the e-version of the Pledge Card which will be available on the NDPeeps App from 7 July 2016 onwards or 2. by completing a hardcopy Pledge Card which will be distributed to the general public at the National Stadium during Previews 1 and 2 and on National Day. Completed Pledge Cards can be shared on individual social media platforms as well as official platforms such as NDPeep FB, Instagram (@ndpeeps_2016) and Twitter (@NDPeeps) with hashtags #NDP2016, #NDP2016theme, #NDP16, #NDP and #NDP2015Pledgecard.

Highlight 2:
AR Technology in the NDP Souvenir Magazine

3 Highlights for this #NDP2016 Blogger Ena Teo Enabalista_0003

The souvenir magazine is embedded with digital content that aims to engage readers in an interactive way. With the use of augmented reality, readers can access additional content – images and videos – using the NDPeeps App on their mobile devices. Readers will be able to view a 3D time-lapse video of the National Stadium’s evolution by focusing the camera on the picture of the National Stadium in the magazine, users can even pan and zoom during the video to appreciate different perspectives of the transformation of the National Stadium.

Well, this  technology certainly isn’t new as we’ve seen it on IKEA catalogues but to have this technology applied on our NDP souvenir magazine? I don’t know about you guys, but I’m feeling like we’re the cool kids on the block.

Highlight3:
LED Wristband in the Funpack

3 Highlights for this #NDP2016 Blogger Ena Teo Enabalista_0004The LED wristband is programmable and can be wirelessly synchronized with the show’s lights and sounds. It is capable of emitting lights with varying intensity and in 16 (!) different colours and modes. In wearing this LED wristband, every spectator becomes an integral part of the show, collectively contributing to massive visual displays and enjoy a truly immersive experience.

This year’s Funpack comes in 2 colours, red and white which are the representative colours of Singapore, in our State flag and serves as a reminder to be rooted to the values that define our collective strength and harmony.  It is lightweight, multifunctional, waterproof and durable.

I love how versatile this bag is, as it can be used as a sling bag, hand bag or haversack/bagpack. To ensure that it would be enjoyable bag, the NDP 2016 Logistics and Finance Committee even gathered and incorporated feedback from students from over 10 schools!

Check out this video to find out more about the Funpack!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iRai2RIroo

3 Highlights for this #NDP2016 Blogger Ena Teo Enabalista_0007The bloggers and I caught a photos with Edmund Chen!
3 Highlights for this #NDP2016 Blogger Ena Teo Enabalista_0006Before we headed to the National Stadium for a quick photo taking with our bags.
3 Highlights for this #NDP2016 Blogger Ena Teo Enabalista_0005

Thank you NDP 2016 and Nuffnang for the media preview invite!

What’s good at Coco Ichibanya?

I’m a huge fan of Japanese curry rice because the curry is tasty without being too spicy and I love the crispy cutlets in the curry rice, hence I’m a fan of Coco Ichibanya and have dined at their Somerset and Star Vista outlets before attending the launch preview at Plaza Singapura. Another really belated review/post but presumably all the items are still on the menu! 🙂Coco Ichibanya Review and RecommendationsBlogger Ena Teo Enabalista_0006 Coco Ichibanya Review and RecommendationsBlogger Ena Teo Enabalista_0008You can choose from an array of 5 spicy levels! I usually opt for level 1 cause I like my Japanese curry without much spice, lol. And the max I’d go is level 3.

Coco Ichibanya Review and RecommendationsBlogger Ena Teo Enabalista_0005I love this BBQ squid.

Coco Ichibanya Review and RecommendationsBlogger Ena Teo Enabalista_0000I am a fan of croquettes but these weren’t particularly remarkable.

Most Impressive Drugstore Eyeshadow? | Makeup Review & Brush Care

Today I’ll be reviewing eyes and brow makeup from two drugstore brands Kate Tokyo and Clio, followed by sharing about a beauty and brush care package from the lovely folks from Sigma!

I’ve been using Kate Tokyo’s new and latest Forming Edge eyeshadow palettes a lot lately and am very impressed by its superb pigmentation, beautiful colours and comfortable and long wearing formula. My favourite colour is PK-01 which I incidentally dropped from my makeup shelve today after applying it T_T so I will be purchasing a replacement from Watsons.

Kate Tokyo Forming Edge Eyeshadow BB Mousse Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0002 Kate Tokyo’s new and latest Forming Edge eyeshadow palettes and BB Powder Changing Mousse ($23.50 each).

Kate Tokyo Forming Edge Eyeshadow BB Mousse Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0007 Kate Tokyo’s new and latest Forming Edge eyeshadow palettes in BR-3 (brown), PK-1 (pink), BU-1(blue) and GD-1 (green). Check out all eight shades on their site here.Kate Tokyo Forming Edge Eyeshadow BB Mousse Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0003 Kate Tokyo’s Forming Edge eyeshadow palette in PK-1, my favourite of the 4 shades. The colour in the middle is actually more peach (pinkish orange) than pink, nonetheless the colours in the palette complements very well for a sweet and romantic look that’s wearable on a daily basis too. Super love!

BIG Hotel Singapore Review Lifestyle Blogger Ena Teo Enabalista _0029Wearing Kate Tokyo’s Forming Edge eyeshadow palette in PK-1 in this look.

Kate Tokyo Forming Edge Eyeshadow BB Mousse Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0004 Kate Tokyo’s Forming Edge eyeshadow palette in BR-3 is my second favourite colour of choice and I pick this colour on days when I want to go for a more understated glam look, like this:

Kate Tokyo Forming Edge Eyeshadow Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0000

Kate Tokyo Forming Edge Eyeshadow BB Mousse Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0005 Kate Tokyo’s Forming Edge eyeshadow palette in BU-1 is a colour I have yet to try but when I do, I’d likely match it with gold or orange to create a more friendly look rather than just full blue, which is a tricky look to wear on its own on a regular day.

Kate Tokyo Forming Edge Eyeshadow BB Mousse Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0006 Kate Tokyo’s Forming Edge eyeshadow palette in GD-1, unfortunately the powder came cracked when I received it, which goes to show how fragile it is, so do be careful when you handle them. Though the pigment and formula is great, and the fancy diamond packaging looks pretty, it does make it more fragile.

Kate Tokyo Forming Edge Eyeshadow BB Mousse Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0000 Kate Tokyo Forming Edge Eyeshadow BB Mousse Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0001 KATE Powdery Mousse BB.  I have yet to try this out.
This lightweight mousse promises to: transform into powder upon application for excellent shine-free coverage that lasts all day! What’s more, your skin is pampered with all the nourishing goodness of BB cream for perfect skin from the inside out. Comes in 2 shades, 01 Bright colour and 02 Natural colour.

Older launches which I have yet to review on the blog!

Kate Tokyo Long Lash Mascara Digital Eyeliner Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0000 Kate Tokyo Long Lash Mascara Digital Eyeliner Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0001

Kate Virtual Lash Liner (Mascara) $25.50 promises to amp up the drama with voluminous and lush lashes with the new KATE VIRTUAL LASH LINER. The new Hard Black Formula and refined wax-polymer-pigment ratio unfailingly creates intense, long-lasting black colouration. The formula also features straight and curled fibres to simultaneously curl and lengthen your lashes, lifting them up and fixing them in place for curves that last. The KATE VIRTUAL LASH LINER also features a compact applicator wand that can pack on the long-wearing formula. Precisely positioned bristles spread lashes apart, coating every last one for maximum impact.

I’ve had it for a while, but as I am crafting this post, I can’t recall my review of this mascara. Oops! I will be wearing and testing it again and share my update on IG. Based on the promise of the product, I do think it will suit my short and sparse eye lashes. I don’t wear mascaras often and when I do, I tend to go back to the few that I’ve tried and like, which are currently KPalette’s Lash Perm Volume Mascara (Purple) and Benefit’s Roller Lash mascara. Previously I was using and loving Lancome’s Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara and Maybelline’s Cat Eye (quick some time back). It is very important for me that a mascara has an easy to remove formula, dries fast, is lightweight, doesn’t smudge and somehow still magically extends my eyelashes and gives some volume. Very demanding, I know.

Define your eyes in brilliant black with the new KATE Digital Memory Liner ($20.50). Intense, all-day colouration emphasises your eyes in a single stroke of the super-fine flat brush.  The KATE DIGITAL MEMORY LINER features two types of polymers to ensure all-day resistance to smudging, fading, sebum, sweat and water. These polymers have been carefully arranged for fuss-free removal of the formula with warm water.

KATE Digital Memory Liner is a new eyeliner favourite. I use eyeliner on a daily basis, before this, my holy grail favourite is Clio’s Kill Black and Brown brush liner for it’s smudge proof formula which cleans easily with no stains or marks. By comparison Kate Digital Memory Liner is more intense, equally smudge proof and while it cleans with no mark/stains, it does require more makeup remover to clean off.

Kate Tokyo Brow Set Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0000Rounding off my Kate Tokyo review with their Eyebrow Set, which comes with the brow palette, brush and comb, was retailing at $20.50, in December 2015. Not sure if you can still find the same promotion now. My Japanese friend commenting on IG (the same pic as above) that Kate is a very popular brand in Japan and that she has bought the same brow palette 10 times! Wow. However I am more of a eyebrow pencil kinda gal… I tried to apply and like this product but I am just not as efficient with this eyebrow palette as I am with the eyebrow pencil… oops.

Clio Singapore KillBrow Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0000 That is why we need more than one brand in the market, such as Clio which caters to girls like me who prefers eyebrow pencil rather than eyebrow palette, although you an also spot their version above. They also have their Kill Brow All Day Tattoo (which sold out in Korean when they first launched), which is the  K version of Benefit’s Gimme Brow, Gel Brow Pencil and waterproof eyeliners! Have actually yet to break into all of them yet, but do check them out in Watsons stores. As mentioned above, I highly recommend Clio’s Kill Black and Brown brush eyeliner and lately am also really loving their Gradation Dual Eyebrow pencil which is their new summer 2016 collection, which I will review in another post! 🙂

Sigma Brushes & Brush Care Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0000 Sometime back, the kind folks of Sigma sent me this very lovely beauty and brush care set.Sigma Brushes & Brush Care Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0001

How I carry my IPhone6 during my runs

A quick post today. If you’ve been following my IG, you might know that I’ve been actively taking part in my company’s ERA Running Club which I try to attend every Monday night and joined my first race sometime last year. So it was only proper for me to get a sports armband for my Iphone6 which I always run with, not only for the music but also because I use Runkeeper to keep track of my stats during each run! Monocozzi IPhone6 ArmBand Holder Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0000

Monocozzi IPhone6 ArmBand Holder Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0001 Monocozzi IPhone6 ArmBand Holder Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0002

I like this armband because it’s in a pretty pink and grey combination, it’s lightweight and the neoprene waterproof material keeps my phone secure and dry, attached to my upper arm while I am running. You can purchase the same cover on Monocozzi website here for USD 11.95 (now on offer!). It ships from Hong Kong and whilst their Powerbanks are super pretty, it doesn’t ship internationally, unfortunately.

Where do you shop your gadget accessories from? Let me know in the comments! 😉

Thank you Felicia and Monocozzi for sending me this functional yet pretty product!

Medtrinia Ageless Herbal Cream and NewBornLash Serum? | Beauty Reviews

Today I’ll be reviewing two body creams and one eyelash growth serum. I’ve been using these products on and off for a few months and I have to confess that I’ve not used them for consecutive days, sufficient to see a remarkable result. And that’s also a reason why I’ve been hesitant to review these products on the blog  as it’s hard to attest to the results. Nonetheless, I’ll be including details of the products, so if you find them useful, you might want to give them a try! 😉

Meditrina Ageless Herbal Cream Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0000

Do you experience very bad period cramps? Then you might find this cream useful! Starting off the review with Meditrina Ageless Herbal Cream with Chasteberry Extract that is highly recommended by fellow blogger Herine, who also sent this product over to me for review.

Specifically developed to alleviate hormone imbalance symptoms and beauty problems related to hormonal imbalances, Meditrina Ageless Herbal Cream with Chasteberry extract contains the exclusive Phyto-hormone Triactive Complex of Chasteberry, Fenugreek and Rapeseed Extract, clinically proven to mimic the positive effects of your hormones on your body and skin. This Triactive Complex designed for skin delivery system to maximize its efficacy on restoring you to optimal youthful levels and improving your health and vitality. It contains 100% natural botanical ingredients, no animal substances or synthetic hormones are used in the formulation of Meditrina Ageless Herbal Cream.

Meditrina Ageless Herbal Cream helps to regulate hormone production, maintains optimal hormone levels and is a great massage complement for holistic healing.

Chasteberry (Vitex) is a plant found in the Mediterranean region. It has the ability to effect the pituitary gland’s regulatory and balancing influence on progesterone, estrogen and prolactin hormone production. Its preparations are used to help treat irregularities of the menstrual cycles, premenstrual complaints and mastodynia (breast pain). It is also an effective remedy for menopausal disorders & PMS.

Fenugreek acts as an emollient (softens and soothes the skin). It also reduces blood sugar and is a potential raw material for the production of sex hormones. It is commonly used in Chinese Medicine to treat cold pain in the lower abdomen, impotence, and hernia (said to be due to cold “Chi”).

Dioscorea (Wild Yam) root is used as a precursor for manufacturing progesterone and estrogen. It is used to help ease dysmenorrhea and cramps.

Grape Seed Extract is a powerful anti-oxidant. The anti-oxidant activity provides a strong rationale for using it in the therapeutic management of microvascular disorders. It may also support collagen stabilization.

Geranium Oil keeps the skin supple and opens its pores to allow
better absorption. Its properties for balancing the mind and emotions helps relief anxiety, stress etc.

Benefits of Meditrina Ageless Herbal Cream

1. Improve osteoporosis symptoms
2. Improves decreased libido
3. Alleviates moodswings and hotflushes
4. Reduces vaginal dryness
5. Retards aging
6. Firms the breasts
7. Reduces menstrual cramps/PMS
8. Reduce water retention
9. Hydrates skin and improve skin elasticity
10. Promotes a stronger immune system

I have used this Meditrina Ageless Herbal Cream with Chasteberry Extract on multiple occasions focusing on the breasts and stomach area where Herine recommended as it will firm the area while keeping the skin supple. It will give a warm sensation after applied. As it includes Chasteberry and Wild Yam root which helps the body to balance hormones, it is recommended if you experience irregular periods or physical discomfort brought by hormonal imbalance. Based on the stated benefits of the cream, it would also be suitable for women going through menopause. Retails at $178, purchase online here. Mederma Stretch Marks Therapy Cream Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0000If stretch marks are your concerns, why not give Mederma Stretch Marks Therapy Cream a shot? I confess that I don’t have visible stretch marks to attest to the effects of this cream, but I love applying this to my legs and thighs because of the lovely botanical scent and its moisturizing effects from the hyaluronic acid.  In case you haven’t, read my review of Mederma Proactive Gel, a scar removal gel here. For more information, visit the Mederma website here.NewbornLash Blogger Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0000

Last but not the last, we have NewbornLash Eyelash and Brow Serum for review. I really want to like this product and see its effects on my eyelashes because I have the typical sparse, short and straight asian eyelashes. HOWEVER I have never managed to go past 3 consecutive days/nights of applying this serum. Sorry guys. I usually apply this at night before I sleep, it has a tiny brush tip applicator which makes it easy to apply the serum at your eyelash roots. I also confess that this is a very late review because I received this product last year. The product is brought in by BeaulabSEA but I can’t find any product information on its site at the moment. Let me know if you’ve any eyelash growth serum to recommend and tips to stick to the regime? 🙂

What to order at Arteastiq Plaza Singapura

A way overdue post considering Arteastiq at Plaza Singapura launched last year, but it’s still relevant and I’ll be highlighting which are the dishes I’d recommend and have gone back for since it’s opening! 😉
Arteastiq Plaza Singapura Ena Teo Enabalista Blogger Review _0000Arteastiq started out at Mandarin Gallery and it’s known to be a place where you can spend hours painting and/or having tea with friends, so it’s also only appropriate to dress up a little for it (not that I need any excuse to dress up, really). 😉

Arteastiq Plaza Singapura Ena Teo Enabalista Blogger Review _0001 Longan tea is an Arteastiq special and many have asked where to get the tea from but it’s a trade secret! My friends and I love it iced as it’s refreshing and perfect for Singapore’s sunny weather.Arteastiq Plaza Singapura Ena Teo Enabalista Blogger Review _0002You can opt for biscuits and biscotti to go with the tea too!

We had a lot of dishes to share at the food tasting, but here are my top 3 dish picks! 🙂

Arteastiq Plaza Singapura Ena Teo Enabalista Blogger Review _0019Aphrodiate Crabmeat Benedict ($25) is a store recommended dish, the crabmeat was a little dry.

Arteastiq Plaza Singapura Ena Teo Enabalista Blogger Review _0011I super love this Tuscan Sun Porcine et Polenta ($20) which is eggs over mashed potatos and mushrooms, basically all my favourites on a plate!

I have yet to try Summer in Provence – Foiegras ($28) which is seared foie gras with lightly baked eggs but it’s definitely next on my list when I’m back.

Arteastiq Plaza Singapura Ena Teo Enabalista Blogger Review _0014 Arteastiq Plaza Singapura Ena Teo Enabalista Blogger Review _0015This Boston Love Boat Ciponi ($29) is a highly recommended dish for sharing. Everything about this dish from the seafood to soup, is perfect.

Get Summer Ready | Personal Care Beauty Reviews

As we enter into the month of June, this means Summer is fast upon us… And in the thick of summer, it’s important for us to care for our skin and hair to make sure we’re prepared for and protected from the heat and humidity!

As you would know by now, if you’ve been reading my past few blog posts and following me on my IG,  I’ve literally got tons of beauty products for review and it would take me too much time and inertia to review them singly / per range on a dedicated blog post, so I’ve decided to compile relevant products together in a multi-review post! So here goes the first of such posts to come. 😉

V-Mina Personal Care Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0000I was sent this V-Mina Feminine Hygiene Trial Pack some time end last year and I particularly like the Cleansing Mousse. I am not a daily user of female personal hygiene care because I feel that normal body care products are sufficient for me. However during “that time of the month” aka periods, using personal hygiene care feels extra nice. Read more about V-Mina on their site here and purchase their products online here.

OKDGG Beauty Products Ena Teo Enabalista_0000 OKDGG Beauty Products Ena Teo Enabalista_0001So many Korean beauty products, so little time to try and buy them. If you’re a huge Korean skincare, makeup and fashion lover like I am, you might be happy to know of OKDGG which is a mega online shopping mall that houses 1,300 brands under one site and they are currently offering free shipping for purchases over $100(usd) and below 10kg!  I have tried the Jeju Aloe Vera gel which is a very refreshing and moisturizing water gel based cream, I’d recommend this for days after a day at the beach. The Too School For Cool Milk Tint red is a pastel red lip tint with a glossy effect.  Still haven’t tried the Wonder Patch Belly Wing, but if you have, leave a comment and share your views! For more makeup and skincare products on OKDGG, visit here.  And I do love a pretty pink delivery box. 🙂

Dove Volume Nourishment Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0000If you’re looking for a lightweight Volume enhancing and nourishing hair care, try Dove’s Volume Nourishment range consisting of Shampoo, Conditioner and Root Lift Spray. I personally have rather thick hair so I can’t really attest to the effects of this range in a sense that its effects aren’t that remarkable for me. But when I tried the range for review, I liked that it was lightweight and effective in cleansing and didn’t leave any greasy residue on the hair. Also, my friend Fion says the Root Lift Spray really works for her.

Rich CC Hair Care DCS Skincare Stenders Skincare Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0000

Another haircare range I’ve tried is Rich Pure Luxury Miracle Renew CC Shampoo and Cream. Honestly I thought the product packaging was so ordinary despite the impressive name “Rich Pure Luxury Miracle Renew CC Shampoo”. However after using it, I was impressed by it and also really like the grape scent. I also saw it being on featured on one of the local magazines’ beauty awards (sorry can’t recall  now which magazine it is).

A quick research online shows the write up on the official US site as;
Infused with wine extract, the shampoo actively brighten hair colour and protects hair from environmental damage. It also moisturises hair and scalp thanks to an algae extract derived from seaweed that’s rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals. The shampoo contains a beautiful blend of argan oil and hydrolyzed wheat, soy and corn proteins to create soft, shiny hair that’s smooth and free of frizz.
Instructions: Apply to damp hair, massage into a lather then rinse. Repeat if necessary. For optimum results use with RICH Pure Luxury MIracle Renew CC Conditioner.

I also used the CC cream after wash and before blow dry and it’s a non greasy and moisturizing formula. Would definitely recommend this moisturizing and nourishing hair care range for dry hair. You can purchase the product on SuzanniBeaute here for $13.50 for 250ml, which is cheaper than Guardian retailing at $17.90. 😉 The CC Cream retails at $16.50 on SuzanniBeaute.

Have previously posted about DCS Nutriderm here. As for the Stenders skincare, I like the moisturizing toner but find the Hydrating Facial Gel a tad too concentrated for my skin, but my friend Christabelle likes them just fine. What’s your current skincare favourites?

Lip Hop Sunblocks Review Ena Teo Enabalista_0000Last but not the least, if you’re looking for an affordable sun screen range, consider LipHop, a made in Korea sun care line with products Ultra Whitening Sun Protection Lotion, Kids Hypoallergenic Sun Protection Lotion, Super Defence Ex Sun Protection Milk, Moisturizing Weightless Sun Protection Spray and Soothing Aloe Vera Gel. With all of the variety, you’re bound to find a type of sun block that suits your preference and needs this summer. I’d brought these along with me on my trip to Penang a while back and I like the lightweight Ultra Whitening Sun Protection Lotion. 🙂

What’s your summer plans? I’m definitely planning for a day in my white Kaftan and sipping mojito by the beach. 😉
