I’m a huge fan of Asian, especially Cantonese cuisine. Kai Garden open its doors early this year and you’ll be happy to know that they serve up a mean course. Here’s what I’ve tried, read on to find out which ones are highly recommended! 😉
Chilled Cherry Foie Gras. I’d definitely pick this over the other Chilled Mini Tomato with Sweet Plum because I’m a Foie Gras lover and not a fan of sour food. Also, I am fascinated with how they made this. The thin later over the Foie Gras tastes like jelly. It tastes decadent.
This is not on the menu, its scallop over fruits, and it’s great.

We had a choice of Double-boiled Japanese Matsutake (mushrooms) Served in Hot Pot or Shark’s Fin in Supreme Collagen Stock. I picked the former. This soup is boiled with pork and it tastes great. The manner of serving is also very unique, as it came in a teapot and pours out to a small tea cup.
Leanne opted for Shark’s Fin in Supreme Collagen Stock. I do wish restaurants would stop serving Shark’s Fin. Fish collagen is great, but we don’t need to eat Shark’s Fin.
Next we have Signature Crispy Peking Duck!

I love this. The 5 types of serving sauces. I like the Traditional Sauce.
Each skin wrap has a different flavour, the taste of which isn’t remarkable but I do like the various colours.
And then we have Garoupa in Lobster Soup!
The staff brings out the Garoupa and serves up the dish bowl by bowl, as the fresh fish is blanched before placing into the soup bowl. Don’t you agree that the presentation of the Garoupa is spectacular?

Blanched fresh fish slices served in the lobster soup. Unfortunately I am allergic to lobster, so I cannot comment on the taste of this. But it looks amazing.
Next we have Sweet and Sour Pork on the Rocks.
I highly recommend this dish. It’s hot on the inside and crispy and cold on the outside.
Deep Fried Vegetarian Roll.
Love the generous serving of the ingredients and the pumpkin puree.
Another highly recommended dish: Pan Fried Charcoal Pork Bun. This is amazing. We were already so full by this dish, but it still tastes amazing.
For desserts we had Chilled Fresh Coconut Puree. I am not a fan of coconut but this tastes like Birds Nest (it is not) but it does and I love this.

I’d highly recommend Kai Garden for family dinners and dim sums, whilst the price per pax averages $60 (or more, depending on what you order), it undoubtedly serves superb Cantonese dishes with a twist that will delight both the young and old.

The camera album allows storage of about 100 photos, which isn’t a lot. You will need to transfer the photos to the phone and delete the photos on the camera regularly. P.S. These are the photos I took during my Genting trip, you can check it out my blog post of the trip

Then open the Exilim connect app on your phone. In this case, I am using an IPhone. Once the phone is connected, you can view photos on phone or use remote capture – allows you to use your phone as a remote and click to capture photos on the Casio TR60.
Casio TR60 Makeup mode allows you to adjust the skin tone and smooth skin filters.
The screen displays the few modes at the top which you can click to use accordingly: makeup, mirror, wireless, modes, menu.

Let’s just dive straight into the dishes we had from Gu Ma Jia’s food tasting! 🙂
We started the dinner with Gu Ma Jia’s Vinegar Enzyme drink.
We had Gu Ma Jia’s Signature Beancurd, Crispy on the outside and soft inside, with a tasty dipping sauce.
Kyoto Pork Ribs – a feast for the eyes as well with the fire show!
Kyoto Pork Ribs is sooo delicious and tender – highly recommended!
Another top favourite, Kai Lan Yuan Yang – it is fried till it is crispy.
Prawn and Salted Egg Yoke. I’m allergic to prawns so I didn’t try the prawn but the egg yolk sauce/gravy is delicious! I love salted egg yolk dishes so much!
Claypot Wine Chicken with Ginger and Sesame Oil is another hot favourite dish. Frankly, I don’t know how we managed to eat so much that night, hahaha.
Gu Ma Jia’s Award Winning Assam Fish Head, is sweet and sour and hits all the right spots! I know my mum will love this.
Another special occasion top picks, White Pepper Crab. The white pepper has the kick!
Glutinous rice with vanilla ice cream, I really like this dessert! A blend of hot and cold, savoury and sweet.
More desserts, Mango pudding, White Fungus and Vinegar Enzyme Jelly.

We (Nuffnang bloggers and managers) arrived about 20 minutes early for the preview and we had time to settle down, pick the colour of our Fun Pack and head outside for the breakfast items before heading back in. I haven’t attended NDP in a while, and forgot that a lot of Army/NSAF men are involved, so it was quite a culture shock to suddenly see so many men/guys at a media preview. Haha!

Our Collective Dreams and Aspirations encourage students and youths to share their dreams and aspirations for Singapore’s future through painting. It aims to stretch the imagination of Singaporeans in dreaming of a better future for Singapore. This stitching of the individual paintings together symbolises the need for collective ownership in charting Singapore’s future. Renowned Singaporean artist, Mr Sun Yu-Li, will create abstract designs based on each of the 51 years of Singapore’s nation building and overlay them atop the mosaic. The resulting Our Collective Dreams and Aspirations thus represent the collective journey of our nation over 51 years. 
The LED wristband is programmable and can be wirelessly synchronized with the show’s lights and sounds. It is capable of emitting lights with varying intensity and in 16 (!) different colours and modes. In wearing this LED wristband, every spectator becomes an integral part of the show, collectively contributing to massive visual displays and enjoy a truly immersive experience.

You can choose from an array of 5 spicy levels! I usually opt for level 1 cause I like my Japanese curry without much spice, lol. And the max I’d go is level 3.
Shishamo, which is fried fish with a lot of roe in them. I used to be afraid of eating these but they are kinda tasty.
I am a fan of croquettes but these weren’t particularly remarkable.

Kate Tokyo’s Forming Edge eyeshadow palette in PK-1, my favourite of the 4 shades. The colour in the middle is actually more peach (pinkish orange) than pink, nonetheless the colours in the palette complements very well for a sweet and romantic look that’s wearable on a daily basis too. Super love!

Kate Tokyo’s Forming Edge eyeshadow palette in BR-3 is my second favourite colour of choice and I pick this colour on days when I want to go for a more understated glam look, like this:
Kate Tokyo’s Forming Edge eyeshadow palette in BU-1 is a colour I have yet to try but when I do, I’d likely match it with gold or orange to create a more friendly look rather than just full blue, which is a tricky look to wear on its own on a regular day.
Kate Tokyo’s Forming Edge eyeshadow palette in GD-1, unfortunately the powder came cracked when I received it, which goes to show how fragile it is, so do be careful when you handle them. Though the pigment and formula is great, and the fancy diamond packaging looks pretty, it does make it more fragile.
KATE Powdery Mousse BB. I have yet to try this out.
Rounding off my Kate Tokyo review with their Eyebrow Set, which comes with the brow palette, brush and comb, was retailing at $20.50, in December 2015. Not sure if you can still find the same promotion now. My Japanese friend commenting on IG (the same pic as above) that Kate is a very popular brand in Japan and that she has bought the same brow palette 10 times! Wow. However I am more of a eyebrow pencil kinda gal… I tried to apply and like this product but I am just not as efficient with this eyebrow palette as I am with the eyebrow pencil… oops.
That is why we need more than one brand in the market, such as Clio which caters to girls like me who prefers eyebrow pencil rather than eyebrow palette, although you an also spot their version above. They also have their Kill Brow All Day Tattoo (which sold out in Korean when they first launched), which is the K version of Benefit’s Gimme Brow, Gel Brow Pencil and waterproof eyeliners! Have actually yet to break into all of them yet, but do check them out in Watsons stores. As mentioned above, I highly recommend Clio’s Kill Black and Brown brush eyeliner and lately am also really loving their Gradation Dual Eyebrow pencil which is their new summer 2016 collection, which I will review in another post! 🙂

You’re getting a very soothing open skies and greenery view if you’re seating by the windows. 
Longan tea is an Arteastiq special and many have asked where to get the tea from but it’s a trade secret! My friends and I love it iced as it’s refreshing and perfect for Singapore’s sunny weather.
You can opt for biscuits and biscotti to go with the tea too!
Aphrodiate Crabmeat Benedict ($25) is a store recommended dish, the crabmeat was a little dry.
I super love this Tuscan Sun Porcine et Polenta ($20) which is eggs over mashed potatos and mushrooms, basically all my favourites on a plate!
Mount Etna’s Peak ($13) Crisp chocolate triangle filled with Valrhona chocolate mousse, yuzu gelato and berries coulis – I don’t know about you, but this is basically all my favourite desserts on a platter!
Airy Fairy ($13) pairing Valrhona Chocolate Mousse with Vanilla Cream Parfait and Mixed Berries. 
I was sent this V-Mina Feminine Hygiene Trial Pack some time end last year and I particularly like the Cleansing Mousse. I am not a daily user of female personal hygiene care because I feel that normal body care products are sufficient for me.
